2023-09-04 02:17:47This Asian-Mexican fusion restaurant has to be in my top three favorite vegan SD restaurants. Not only do they have a diverse menu, the food is fresh and packed full of flavor. The service is great and best of all, it’s family run.(For CA natives: yes, they have a free parking lot with plenty of spots. For tourists, it’s less than a 5 minute drive to Balboa.)

2023-08-20 17:21:36The Village is an absolute gem for vegans like us! My partner and I make it a point to support this wonderful establishment at least once a week, and it never disappoints. They have both a Mexican and Japanese menu, and its delicious! Becoming vegan, I missed the variety of rolls available to non-vegans. I don’t always want to settle for a cucumber roll. So, I love that they have so many tasty options there. But what really makes it special is the super friendly servers. Theyre always nice and help you pick out good stuff to eat. And very attentive! If youre vegan or just want to try some great food, you should totally check out The Village. Its a must-visit!

2023-09-11 03:29:44We were blown away by the service an hour before they closed on a Sunday, as well as the freshness of their fish tacos. Everything we got was delicious and full of flavor. Dont skip on the horchata! The only negative being that there are so many great items to choose from we couldnt get the nachos, so well be back for those.

2023-06-11 01:31:30As a gluten free vegan I was SO EXCITED about their menu, and couldn’t wait to try this place. Started with the veggie tempura and two rolls, both are great- but the Village roll was insanely good! So glad I asked the waiter what his fave was- because his recommendation of the fish tacos were such a treat. Really really amazing texture and flavor. Love that there’s both sake, wine and NA choices, my only regret is that I wish this place wasn’t a couple hours away- there’s so many dishes I want to try :)

2023-08-22 14:47:23Good food, though I’m not sure I like eating Mexican and Japanese food at the same time. While the menu is relatively short, these are two different styles of food.Service was slower than expected when the restaurant was not busy. Not horrible but not efficient. All the windows were very dirty. If you have windows in your restaurant they should be clean. There was a non-service animal dog in the restaurant (not patio). I’m a dog lover but believe animals should not be allowed inside the restaurant.

2023-10-12 23:56:58What a unique place that has been in business at this location for about 3 years. I heard the history from the server, Esmerelda, when I asked her about the Mexican/Japanese combination. The chef started with one menu for Mexican food, but once her favorite sushi place closed, she decided to learn to make sushi! When folks would call asking for gluten-free and soy-free options, she upgraded to a 2-sided menu. She has now added a brunch menu for Saturdays & Sundays!Bon Appétit! ✔️✝️💯🔥🙂

2023-12-07 15:46:05I don’t think there’s anything that could make this place any better. Family-owned, and the owners are some of the kindest, friendliest, and chattiest people I’ve met. The food is dangerously good, and not too expensive! And the ambiance is so welcoming and pretty. Instant all-time favorite.

2023-06-25 21:30:57Clean restaurant, ample parking in their parking lot for brunch, excellent service with knowledgeable staff for our friend with gluten sensitivities, and delicious food! Our faves were the calamari, fish tacos, and Village Roll. We had mimosas with brunch and a few margaritas in our party as well. Would definitely come back again!

2023-10-01 20:20:49Incredible vegan food! Its a mix of Mexican and Japanese style dishes. Everything was full of dynamic and complimentary flavors and textures. Rarely can I say the food was perfect but over here it really was.
