2023-09-27 02:44:14First, the Ramen was really good, much better than I was expecting, but man it was such a turn off to be surrounded my meat eaters and plates full of fried chicken and chasiu in a vegan/plant based restaurant. They pretty much use the place as additional seating for RakiRaki. Good for lining the owners pockets, I guess. I also had the vegan bao buns, and they were pretty good as well. However, the vegan karaage is more like chicken nuggets than karaage. Id put this place last on my list the next time Im craving ramen just because of the atmosphere.

2023-08-07 02:39:46This place has AMAZING vegan ramen. Im saying that their broths are better than most meat based broths that Ive had. Its not surprising since Raki Raki is one of my favorite ramen spots. The vegan Bao Buns are great also. Look, the prices here are on the high end but its somewhat worth it. We got 2 apps and 2 ramens and our bill was $70 before tip. Speaking of tips the service here is impersonal and quick but they request a minimum 18% at check out which I feel is earned with a bit more personality and less turn and burn style service. Like our original server ghosted us after we ordered and you have to box your own leftovers, you can chill with the high suggestions. The ambience here is cramped and noisy much like their other spot next door. Im adding this to my list of go to places for vegan grub still since the flavors make up for everything else.

2023-08-28 04:48:51Finally a Fully vegan Ramen restaurant ! As someone who eats Zabiha halal and loves ramen, I’ve been waiting to finding a Ramen place I can trust and I had to try this. They had a separate vegan menu and a very interesting one at that. We tried the -Spicy Triple Tomato Ramen - 4.5/5The ramen bowl was filling and delicious - the broth was extremely flavorful and you wouldn’t miss the meat.Dream Come True combo box - 4/5This was more eclectic salad than a meal but they had plenty of appetizers we could try.It wasn’t very filling as there was more raw edamame and seaweed salad on the plate. The vegan sushi and Nigiri were amazing and we loved the dipsSuper Jumbo Karage - 5/5We tried the karage in the combo and weren’t full so got more of it.Strawberry lemonade- 2/5Extra sweet, hardly any options for non-alcoholic beveragesOverall a very expensive lunch but a good one timeTry.

2023-08-07 22:36:51If youre looking for a dining experience that is both visually stunning and flavorfully exquisite, then you need to check out The Yasai. This restaurant is located in the heart of the Clairemont, and it offers a unique dining experience that is unlike anything else Ive ever experienced! I had not had sushi in awhile because most sushi restaurants dont really offer many vegetarian options. This place was worth visiting and I dont even mind that had been made to sit on RakiRaki Ramens side of the restaurant. The real magic happens when the food arrives. The dishes are works of art in their own right, and they taste even better than they look. The chef takes great care in sourcing the freshest ingredients, and he uses his culinary skills to create dishes that are both visually appealing and flavorfully complex. The detail that went into every plate, the presentation, and the flavor were incandescent with richness. I will make a point of returning and sharing this find with friends and family. A love for Japanese cuisine has been rekindled and I am hungry again for sushi and everything in between. Thank you chef, thank you kitchen staff, and thank you to our waiter! The restaurant experience compensated for the busy atmosphere and the limited parking. I will walk a thousand miles to have another bite at your fabulous table.

2023-01-02 02:09:01One of the best restaurants Ive ever been to, and its all vegan! The flavor profile of their sushi blew me away. Ive had a lot of plant-based sushi before, but never to this level. Yes, its a little pricey, but its worth going here at least once, especially if youre only temporarily in San Diego. 🌱💚

2023-02-18 23:00:14Yasai was one of the most extraordinary Vegan Sushi/Ramen restaurants I’ve ever been to. This place came as a recommendation from a friend and to say this is the best vegan sushi I’ve had is a understatement. The wait time for a Friday night for 2 was 1 hour and it was exactly that long. They do not call or text and only yell your name when it’s your turn. We sat in the sister restaurant next door and it was popping! The atmosphere was lively and staff helpful knowing it was our first time there. The food came out about 10 min after ordering which was spectacular. The Sushi roll was crispy and fried, the taste was perfectly balanced not being too spicy. The ramen was some of the best I’ve ever had and the broth was as sweet and savory. The noddles themself were spectacular too. The two major reasons that Yasai gets a 4 star rating, it’s location is situated where parking is atrocious and the pricing we on the higher end at $20+ per roll.Total Time @ Restaurant: 1 hourTotal Spent: $80

2023-07-25 13:06:48This place is busy because its unique and delicious. It is a vegan sushi restaurant, but it has normal ramen and curry restaurants in the same building. So you can order from any of the three restaurants. The vegan boa buns are my absolute favorite boa buns I have had so far. Service was not great. Parking is always a challenge so arrive early and look for street parking if you cant find it in the small parking lot.

2023-07-23 18:20:03Music and atmosphere is always great, and the staff is so friendly and fun every time. This is my #1 place to take people when they come visit San Diego, not only for the atmosphere but for the absolutely amazing food and variety. Being vegan and not having to compromise here is such a blessing. Their vegan menu and restaurant is the best sushi Ive ever had (vegan or otherwise). My non-vegan friends have so many non-vegan options as well!
