Honestly the food tasted too tangy. We ordered three different curries and all three were very tangy. The appetizers were good though. Their appetizer and naan platter is also a good deal if you go in a big group. We tried their mocktails and they were delicious. The ambience and service is really good. The staff was super helpful and courteousThey are well informed of the dishes on the menu and guided us on the options. Will definitely give them another chance.Edit: the food quality has improved significantly since our last visit which was a few months ago. Loved the experience.

The chicken kebab appetizers were really good. Cant go wrong with masala papad either. Every dish we ordered was good which is not very common at most restaurants. Well be back whenever we are in the area next time!

We really enjoyed our visit and meal. We arrived when they just opened so we were the second group there. The restaurant started getting busy as we came to the end of our visit and the atmosphere picked up.My only issue was that while the food was good, from my perspective, it was not great. For the prices we paid, I hoped for better. Then again, this type of food is not my favorite, and like I said, it got pretty busy as time went on, so clearly, there are other opinions. Also, every single item is a la carte, which drives the price up quickly. I would have liked to see that at least plain rice came with the items or for the table with the option to upgrade.

We went to the yellow chilly with a Lot of hope since we have tried the one in Bay Area and enjoyed it.The food was no where close to what I was expecting it to be. It lacks flavour and taste and none of it tasted even close to what it should taste like.Malai chicken tikka 1/5 - no creamy flavour only tangy with a lot of lemon and sprinkled a lot of red chilly powder. Didnt taste at all like malai chicken tikkaNalli Rogan josh 1/5- the gravy was very thin consistency as compared to what a roghan josh. It was more like curry again the curry was very very tangy and lacked all the other flavours.Palakh paneer 2.5/5garlic naan, lachcha paratha and jeera rice was decent! I mean you cant go wrong with the basics. The service is decent. The manager was kind enough to replace the roghan josh to a chicken but I there is alot of room for improvement. Food really needs to be worked upon. The 2 stars are mainly for the service.

I have been here a few times before, but today we were here with a larger party to celebrate a birthday & wedding anniversary. The decor and ambiance of this restaurant is modern and beautiful. I wouldn’t suggest their alcoholic drinks, but definitely their food! We had the veg and non-veg platter. A lot to try and sample here. As someone who can’t handle any spicy food, everything I tried was flavorful, authentic and not spicy at all. Great servers, attentive and friendly.

Special thanks to the staff for the surprise dessert (Kesari kulfi with Rabdi) when they found out that we were celebrating doctoral graduation of my wife.Heres my full review :The Yellow Chilli Tustin is a popular Indian restaurant located in the heart of Tustin. The restaurant has a large and varied menu, with something to please everyone. The food is authentic Indian cuisine, made with fresh ingredients. The service is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed.I recently had the opportunity to dine at The Yellow Chilli Tustin with my family. All of the dishes were cooked perfectly and were full of flavor. We also enjoyed the bread basket, and its perfect way to experience all types of Indian bread that they serve. But if you have to choose one, choose peshawari naan. It contains nuts, its a little sweet and the mouth feels just so perfect. For dessert, we shared the Shaahi Tukda, which was the perfect amount of sweet and crispy. If youre someone who doesnt like too much sugar, this dessert is for you.Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience at The Yellow Chilli Tustin. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was inviting. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Indian meal.Pros:Delicious foodInviting atmosphereLarge and varied menuSomething to please everyoneCons:Service needs improvements. Can be crowded on weekendsPrices can be highParking can be difficult to findTl:DRThe food and dining experience is amazing overall except the restaurant seems short staffed. Hardly 2-3 servers for this size of restaurants doesnt do it justice. Places like this shouldnt let barkeep serve; barkeep should always be available at the bar.The cocktails have fancy names but arent very special. I tried Ayurveda cocktail and it was just as good as ginger whiskey smash with some more spices. Did expect better. Wine collection is good too.

This place has some great Indian food. Great selection for meat eaters and vegetarians, including dairy free options. The atmosphere is beautifully decorated. It is very inviting, and the seating is comfortable. My only complaint is we were the 1 of 2 in the restaurant and the 2nd to order, and as the place filled up, we were the last to be served. Took more than 30 minutes. An even larger party came in and started getting served before us. So, Im not sure what that was about. Other than the longer wait for the food, the wait staff was good and on top of everything else.As far as price, this is one of those restaurants where everything is purchased separately. So you can get paneer sang, but you have to order rice and Naan separately. The cost is about $25 per person if you get rice and bread. Oh, and this is family style eating. However, if youre on your own for lunch, an appetizer would be a great choice. They are nice in size.I would recommend this place. It is delicious.

I accidentally noticed this restaurant while going to Costco, later found out this was part of Sanjeev Kapoors restaurant chain. Ambience was great and food was amazing, true to their branding found it authentic, not the usual curry type masala found in Indian restaurants in US. We ordered Lawrence road murgh (chicken) tikka, Dum ghost (lamb) Biryani, Puran Singh da tariwala murgh (chicken curry), butter roti and mango lassi _ see photos for food pics. Absolutely delicious, we enjoyed the meal and mango lassi was the icing on the cake. Its slightly expensive compared to other restaurants but worth it. Will update after trying other dishes next time.

Delicious food! We normally dont eat at Indian restaurants cos my wife and I are good cooks ourselves. However, the food here definitely tasted like it was from a celebrity chef restaurant! Thank you Mr. Sanjeev Kapoor! The staff was friendly, and the special mention to the Kerala spice trail cocktail - out of this world!!Certainly the best Indian restaurant Ive eaten at in the US.
