Parking is always difficult for me! I was able to find a spot on the street in front this time.The employees were very friendly and helpful!!I got the breakfast sandwich and it was really light and refreshing!It was perfect La Crescenta weather and sitting outside is a nice view of the mountains and clouds. I was feeling the tree theme.

This place serves great sandwiches. My favorite is their portobello mushroom sandwich, which comes with sweet potato fries. But, the order I’ve got recently wasn’t tasty at all! The fries had minced garlic, which was the first. (These had always been served plain.) They were soggy, too. The food can be a bit hit-or-miss.And, they really need to SEPARATE the complimentary salad that comes with certain sandwiches, such as the eggplant sandwich. It wilts and does NOT taste fresh and crisp.

Service is excellent, the employees are so nice and welcoming even at 9am on the dot. They welcomed me in, went to the counter they took my order very nice and helpful.I order the orange banana French toast and a latte . Both where very delicious especially the French toast I wasnt expecting it to be that tasty because I was unsure of the orange. Let me tell you please order it ! You wont regret the thank you, you will be getting from your taste buds !

Amazing staff! Very friendly, and warm team here. Great outdoor seating; multiple tiers of outdoor sections. Solid menu, and choices. Food was tasty, and fresh. We got the BLAT with garlic fries, and huevos rancheros. Also a chi latte tea (it was of the sweeter variety). Plenty of street parking on foothill and north of foothill. There is a small parking lot (4-6 spots) but it is usually full, and pretty tight. Great neighborhood spot, highly recommend.

This delightful cafe sits on top of the hill in La Crescenta, just above CVHS. The fare is delicious and the service delightful. I find it a true testament to the quality of food, service, and care of the owner when the employee turnover is low and regulars are well established.Come for a great meal and good times.(Indoor and outdoor seating available)Ordered: Janes Breakfast, Orange French Toast, and Pastrami Sandwich w/ garlic sweet potato fries. Veggie omelette was one of the best Ive had (excellent veggie to egg ratio). Good potatoes that tasted fresh and not loaded with salt. The mint lemonade was refreshing and not very sweet - tasted legit but may not be for those wanting a really sweet, basic lemonade. Walk up to order and outdoor seating available. Limited parking.

Ordered a pour over coffee, short stack and fruit and everything was PERFECT! The coffee was a single origin from Kenya - brewed to the right temp, bright and flavorful with no burn/bitterness at all - it was just $4! Pancakes were light and fluffy, fruit was fresh and ripe (banana, melons, strawberries). Service was prompt. Beautiful wood tables, kid friendly, music just right. The whole staff was kind and patient, went out of their way to make my daughter smile 😊

This review is for the coffee, which was great, and the turkey and Swiss. I had a macchiato and didn’t expect much as this is a breakfast and lunch cafe as opposed to a specialty coffee shop. Their coffee far exceeded my expectations- I had a double macchiato and it was as good as many of the other bespoke coffee houses around town. I got a sandwich to gogo! It was a good but not great sandwich- I suspect their specialty is breakfast food and not lunch. The staff there is very warm and friendly.

Another must try places!!! If you love food, youll love this place. And if you dont love food, this place will bring the love back. I have to recommend the pastrami sandwich and the coffee. As someone who is a die hard fan of pastrami in sandwiches, this takes a spot in my top 5 in Los Angeles.For those of us who like a lighter sandwich, their BLAT!! This thing is amazing. Seriously. Don’t look for love look for Tickle Tree Café. Tickle, tickle, tickle! Ok, let’s start this review. Tickle Tree Café is a small corner all day café that serves breakfast and lunch sandwiches. They’re located at Foothill blvd and Dyer st in La Cresenta-Montrose. Indoor atmosphere was cool and emits a positive chi. It’s less spacious compared to their outdoor patios. I perused their food/drink/coffee menu and it barely tickled my innocent mind. To put it mildly their food/drink selections were limited. I came here on a blazing hot Thursday afternoon and ordered a Tuna Melt with salad and mint Lemonade for lunch. Their Lemonade (20z) was cold and refreshing. Similarly, the Tuna Melt was warm, thick and tasty. It was so good my medulla oblongata was tickled like how a woman tickles her bf. Anyway, I’m neither here or there let’s get back on this review. Salad was fresh. Service was fast and on point. The server guy has an alto voice when he calls your name out LOUD so loud you may hear it across the street. Prices were slightly expensive especially the food but the quality is superb. Free Wifi and parking available albeit very small lot. In this voluminous review, it’s time time to make a conclusion about this café. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and food/drink. Therefore, I highly recommend this lil cute corner café.

Great selection to choose from; anywhere from breakfast to drinks! Burger was very tasty. Garlic fries were crispy and thinner than usually fries. (A bit too much fresh garlic for me) I added an egg on top of my burger.

I got the orange zest French toast and it was okay. The orange pieces and banana had no flavor left to them and I did not appreciate the texture but my friend did which is why I’ll give it four stars. We came in at 1:35 and they were out of pasta and smoothie materials which is what I was originally going to order so come early if you want either of those items. They were also out of whipped cream so my French toast had no whipped cream in it which I think would have helped cut the flavor of the syrup nicely.

I took my girlfriend for breakfast, we ordered a croissant and veggie omelet, its nothing personal or against the place but honestly food was not good, or maybe the chef was tired of trying many orders and lost his sense of taste, servers are very polite and friendly and the view its amazing, we will probably give another try some day in the future, hope we get lucky and get a a tastier meal

It’s ok. That’s all. Ingredients feel cheap. Food came out kinda cold. Coffee/espresso tastes weird. Staff is young and inexperienced. A for effort but some quality control and improved customer service would bump this up a couple stars. Maybe you’ll have a better experience than me. 🤷🏾‍♂️

This one pains me - because we love Tickle Tree. Recommend it all the time and bring clients here.That said - they didnt have what we placed in our original order on the phone (after we hung up - they called back) and we proceeded to change our order to second choices (from Pastrami - excellent - to the Portobello Sandwich and the Steak Sandwich). To say the Steak Sandwich is bad is an understatement. Smelled fishy (nonbueno) but just was a tough terrible piece of meat sandwiched between two slices of bread with a dash of chimmichurri. Maybe this was just a bad day, but then, calling to order a second sandwich (I would have paid something) but to be informed Ill have to pay full price was a little kick in the gut. 100% first-world-problems BUT for someone who frequents here on and $83 tab to not get even a little help on a replacement sandwich just feels like a shame. Probably not coming back for a while which is a bummer but ce la vie.

Honestly its a good decent place for breakfast...but the pastries are a little overpriced for what you get. We ordered 2 cheese danishes $9.00 and got a stale, hard piece of bread. Maybe it was bad luck on my part. But i didnt want to complain so we just threw it away. Omelettes are fulfilling and portions are good. Just had a bad experience this time. But for the most part its good but i might wait awhile before coming back.

A tasty meal, had the classic burger with fries and a chopped salad. The burger was as you would expect for $13, lettuce, tomatoes, onion and beef patty on a Brioche bun. I would have liked more sauce, but that can be added using provided ketchup packs. The salad had plenty of grilled chicken, but my wife would have preferred it to be a bit more chopped . Tickle Tree is a great restaurant to have in the area, just wish it was not along noisy Foothill Blvd.

My 2 sisters and I had a very pleasant reunion meal, after not having seen each other for over a year, due to covid. It was outside seating, social distanced and we lingered under a beautiful umbrella. I had the cobb salad which was very fresh, flavorful, and had all the components of a true cobb salad. My sisters each had a BLT sandwich with avocado and a small side salad. We were all thoroughly pleased with the portion sizes and the delicious quality of our food.Cant wait to take my husband there.Dont hesitate to on visit yourself! 5****

Absolutely LOVE this place! I come here all the time not only to grab a bite but also to study. The staff is super friendly and your order comes out pretty fast! The cafes a little small but I definitely recommend this place! I ordered their matcha latte and their steak sandwich which both did NOT fail to impress me. I also ordered their omlet for breakfast it comes with either side of fruit or salad! Its a little pricey but definitely worth coming here!

Figured we would try this place out for breakfast after hiking nearby....at first glance, I liked it!! The place is small but quaint with lots of outdoor seating options. The coffee was great too...but the food...oh the food...Im still angry lol...My husband got the Jimmys breakfast and I got the breakfast sandwich and NOTHING had flavor. My eggs were gross...not seasoned in the slightest and kinda burned. They had a funky taste so I drowned them in the tapatio that we found. My husbands eggs and potatos were super bland as well. The only slightly redeeming parts of his dish were the pancakes and bacon. We ate everything because we were so hungry but we were definitely left feeling unsatisfied and angry at having spent $30+ on a pretty lame meal.

My writeup reflects the positive experience that I encountered at Tickle Tree on our interview date.Located in the heart (and heat) of the valley lives Tickle Tree Café, a cozy spot that is equal parts adorable and mouthwatering! From classic coffee options to scrumptious fan-favorites, locals and visitors alike should have no problem finding the perfect combo of food and drink. I went back to my college fave, the Americano, but opted for the iced version with soy milk and a significantly less amount of sugar. Had I not have already eaten before I got there, I so would have devoured one of their appetizing looking brunch options. Now, apart from a great menu, what makes this shop special is its overall atmosphere and design. From the moment you even step into the parking lot, you can just tell that you will have a pleasant experience, and their wonderfully happy staff is a great group of friendly faces to welcome you for however long your stay may be. Definitely not expensive, I was there during my testing, and studies, and the waitress basically Asian, so weird, I ordered, she brought the coffee, I was on the phone and looking for something, she has some kind of mental illness, she was standing there, like a weirdo, I told her I havent paid for the coffee yet I dont want it. The cashier knew I went to look for my wallet. The waitress was right next to her, some very outrageously suspicious there that day.Other than that, the sandwich, was absolutely delicious, the other waiter was very nice, we enjoyed our lunch thank you very much, and then we left happy.

Great coffee, atmosphere, and food. Can be a place to socialize or study. Its worth the relatively high prices. I get a dirty chai and and an omellete (or burger) and I usually hang out there for a long time with no pressure to give up my table. Maybe my expectations were too high but I found the food to be a notch below average, nothing that would bring me back.Despite the posted signs, staff allowed guests without face masks at the counter. Instead of sanitizing tables between guests, staff stood around talking, sounded like a party in the back of house. When a guest sneezed into their hands at the ordering counter and then asked to use the restroom, she was directed to it; the area was not sanitized. Why not kindly remind the guest to sneeze into the crook of their arm, show them the restroom and sanitize everything after she leaves the area? This would have been polite to her and polite to all other guests. Even to pre-covid standards their sanitation procedures are poor.

My husband and I loved Tickle Tree the first couple of times visiting. However, after being given burnt cold breakfast potatoes, asking for fresh ones, being refused, and then brought back the same plate of potatoes...we will not be returning. I do not care to dine somewhere where a request as simple as that is ignored, and then you bring them back instead of just taking them off of my check or offering something of equal value in its place? You would think customer retention was worth more than some potatoes worth a few cents. Oh well.

The Turkey and Swiss sandwich and sweet potato fries are so delicious. My kids werent into the Swiss on the Grilled Cheese. Seating is a little difficult at lunch time. This wouldnt be a good place for a large lunch group. The parking lot is tiny but there is some street parking. Be careful of the swivel bar chairs! Two of us had pinched fingers before we left.

Been here before, but this last time anything that required cooking is over cooked... The chicken in the cobb salad was chewy and the hard boiled egg had a very grey ring around the yolk (both signs of being VERY overcooked). Same with pastrami sandwich. It wasnt that bad, but SO MUCH CHEWING. It was like gum. Seriously suprised by the lack of quality.

Love, love, Love the Tickle Tree Cafe!!! We are addicted to the fabulous Tickletree burger with Applewood bacon but on these hot days the Soba Noddle salad hits the spot! I must have either one with a tall, icy glass of mint lemonade (made fresh daily)They bring in pastries and cake from a Westside bakery (cant remember the name) that are just incredible. Highly recommend!

Inconsistent! i had the best burger and a week later i orderd the same thing And it was the worst burger i gave it back and had them make it again and it was still terrible tasted like a frozen burger patty mixed with cardboard itll be a while till i make the trip there again

This is a great local place for breakfast our a quick lunch. Much better food quality than you would expect from a local diner, more in keeping with hipster locations like weho or silverlake.Definitely a go-to location. Try the huevos rancheros, the BLAT, and the coffee drinks.

I have been here so many times and tried a few things but no drink can be compared to their delicious mint lemonade and their teas that they make, I have never tried their coffe that they sell but I have tried their burgers and I think that they might the best in the area because of their tenderness and the cheese you can add tastes really good I really do recommend trying this place plus they have outdoor seating
