2023-05-13 05:35:46If youre looking for a restaurant that serves up some seriously delicious food, then Timber & Salt is definitely worth a visit. The menu features a wide range of dishes, from perfectly cooked salmon to dry-aged New York steak thats simply fantastic. One standout dish is the salmon, which is cooked to perfection with a crunchy skin that adds an extra layer of texture and flavor to each bite. The dish is served with a variety of sides, including homemade fries that are cooked to perfection. The dry-aged New York steak is also a must-try, with a deep, rich flavor thats perfectly complemented by the blue cheese butter. And lets not forget about the fries, which are some of the best Ive had in a long time. Theyre perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, making for the ultimate comfort food.If youre looking for a great appetizer to start your meal, the deviled eggs are a must-try. Theyre simply phenomenal, with a creamy texture and just the right amount of seasoning. The pickled habaneros can be a bit spicy for some, but the dish is still amazing even without them.Overall, I highly recommend Timber & Salt for anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience. The food is fantastic, the service is great, and the atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. So if youre in the area, be sure to give it a try!

2023-07-30 05:01:32Timber and Salt is a small restaurant in the main pedestrian thoroughfare of Redwood City. It’s a little bit more upscale than its fast casual neighbors (though no need to dress up). There’s not too much space inside and the decor is timber themed. The bar is very pretty though quite crowded.I have been there a few times now and it is usually pretty good. The smash burger is excellent - sweet, spicy, creamy and salty with a great blend of textures. It’s the only burger I’ve ever had that makes good use of bread and butter pickles. The candied bacon adds a rich decadence. Of other things I’ve tried, the gnocchi is unremarkable, and the apple cobbler dessert is very comforting. The olives are too salty for my liking.I most often sit at the bar, and the bartenders seem quite experienced. They chisel their own ice, and the cocktail menu is extensive and adventurous. The bartenders are very busy and are not conversationalists - some are somewhat friendly and some are more transactional, but none of them tell stories about the food or drinks, or seem that interested in getting to know people even if they are regulars in the neighborhood. It seems like they are trying to rebrand as a steak house to charge premium prices (you’ll notice that the menus in images are quite different than the menu on their website given the shift) - if you are looking for a steakhouse experience, I don’t think you will find that here. The restaurant is too small to be grand and too casual in my opinion to merit a “steakhouse” title. My guess is that they’re trying this angle because Arya, their steakhouse neighbor, just moved to Palo Alto, so they may see a gap in the market. But I would never buy their $150 steak, because this does not feel like a celebration style restaurant. It doesn’t have special occasion vibes - it’s a little too dark, busy, and cafe-like - and the service while attentive is not five star.If I could break it down, I would give:Three stars for serviceThree stars for ambianceThree stars for wineFour stars for food

2023-10-16 21:30:08We enjoyed a cocktail at the bar, along with a delicious bite to eat. I really liked the Crab Cake appetizer (I had it for dinner) and my friend had the Sweet Potato Gnocchi. Nice ambiance.

2023-03-22 04:49:23Walked in with our reservation and were seated quickly. The menu is small but their food is delicious. Snack, appetizers, and main course were worth good selections. They will offer to take your coat. Try their drink menus, nice selections to choose from as well.

2023-01-14 23:06:20The food here is as good as the cocktails, and staff are friendly! The vibe’s pretty good, but prices are higher across the board than I’d have hoped. We loved the arancini, the warm citrusy olives were also great. The jam used in the burger is terrific! We thought the squash in the gnocchi made that dish a bit too sweet though. We tried a G&T and a gin punch-style cocktail, both had great flavors.

2023-11-21 23:03:05Their cocktails are always interesting and the pork bun appetizer is worth detouring for.The rest of the food was well executed too.Our waiter seemed to have tables both inside and outside which made him harder to get ahold of, but otherwise no complaints!Expect to pay peninsula prices though.

2023-11-01 23:50:52Went to meet a friend here on a random chance. Hed found this on Google maps and we tried it out for the first time. I was very impressed with the flavor of the steaks, the level of the service and definitely the atmosphere. I find it very rare in this day and age that a steakhouse knows how to cook a steak properly and timber and salt definitely did it justice. I look forward to returning here again!

2023-05-05 03:40:47A nice spot for drinks and dinner. The standout dish was the Korean fried chicken. We enjoyed the salad and appetizers we ordered but wouldnt return for them. All of our food came out very quickly. We enjoyed sitting at the bar and watching all the drinks get made.
