Think twice before going to this dim sum restaurant with CATERPILLAR in their food.I am deeply disappointed with my recent dining experience at your dim sum restaurant. To my shock and horror, I discovered a caterpillar in the food I was served. When I brought this issue to the attention of your manager, their response was incredibly rude and dismissive, claiming that finding a “CATERPILLAR” in the food was Normal. This is completely unacceptable and unsanitary. I expected a higher standard of hygiene and professionalism from your establishment, and I am appalled by the lack of concern for customer satisfaction and safety displayed by your manager. This experience has left me with a strong aversion to returning to your restaurant in the future.If you like Caterpillar with some extra protein in your food. As show in the pictures feel free to come visit this beautiful business.

We were sitting at the corner table and we had to constantly wave our hands because there were way too many flies. One even got into the food and we caught it with napkin. Called the manager over and the first thing she said was “it got buzzed from that electric box and fell down”. I said no, it landed on the plate. She argued like she saw it and repeated “it died and fell on it”. I SAID I WATCHED IT FLEW OVER HERE. ALIVE.She took the plate away before I could take a picture of the dead FLY. She gives attitudes to customers especially when confronting their faults.I will not be back and I warn you too. Food safety is concerning here.

If youre craving for Dim Sum for dinner, this is a great place for you. The restaurant serves Dim Sum all day! Can be really busy during peak hours so prepare to wait for 20-30 minutes to be seated. Food comes out fairly quickly. Currently open from Thursday through Sunday, closed Monday through Wednesday.

They lost our order and did not receive 6 dishes. After waiting for our 70 minutes we went to the host and asked about our remaining dishes. We got a few then and we said we are missing a few more. Brought us out menu to reorder the remaining 4 dishes.Our food got cold waiting. We were one of the last to leave after having to spend a over of 2. 5 hours for dinner. People came after us got served and left before us.Poor service.

Possibly the worst dim sum I’ve had in North America. Congee was barely lukewarm and shrimp dumpling was all stuck together. At least the flavor is authentic to the 19th century Cantonese dim sum when salt was in short supply due to the Qing dynasty’s tight control.

This popular dim-sum joint used to be our favorite place, but quite disappointed with the Steamed Chicken Feet (Phoenix Claw) today. Rough & bland. Sweet Rice Chicken was OK. Hope the overall quality is not getting worse.

The owner doesnt seem to like serving Chinese people. But very warm to people of other races. The restaurant was clean and I ordered six dim sum items but they were light flavor . But one of them is Beff organs. Most of them are daikon, only 5 little pieces organs in the dish . That’s is $8.88.I tried to communicate with owner . But he was impatient and said thats it, Thats a lot!Eating dim sum is a treat for Chinese people. But this restaurant owner so cheapskate .I feel discriminated.this restaurant on my blacklist forever

During the covid-19 pandemic, we’ve been very cautious about which restaurants to order from. We picked up our dinner from Tin’s Teapot Bistro and were very thankful for these hygienic practices:- minimization of touching: instead of customers sharing the same menu, customers were provided individual disposable menus to check box their preferred dishes- all employees wore masks and gloves- all customers and delivery staff were required to stay a safe social distance while waiting for their orders and had to be wearing masks- a bottle of hand sanitizer was at the front door for free usageThe manager was in the restaurant and personally greeted each customer and delivery person with warm eyes (I could tell that he was smiling even with his mask on). Business was really good. Within 10 minutes, we saw two delivery people getting bulk orders and 5 other people picking up their own takeout.The drive home was about 30 minutes but most of the food was still warm.We loved the beef fried noodles, pepper shrimp, mango pudding, and egg tarts.

We returned to this restaurant for the first time in a long while and was surprised at how much the food has changed. We ordered a dozen dimsum dishes and were disappointed by either the substantial reduction in portion size (some looked like they were leftovers from another table) or changes in flavor and/or texture (some dumpling wrappers were jelly-like and did not hold contents as they were soupy starchy mess). We were very disappointed as this was one spot we always visited for dimsum despite the long drive.

I had definitely have high hope with this restaurant, as it used to be called Westlake. I had dinner, but some dishes (roasted duck, beef, and noodles) were very salty! Very disappointed.

Me and my friend went to the TTB on Thursday, December 29 evening while still raining cats and dogs. I love the restaurant very much. The lighting inside is very good. I can read the menu and see the food on the plate very well since I am visually impaired. The waitress is very very professional. She understand my Mandarin when I say thank you. The waitress offer me a fork instead of the chop stick. I said I will use both of them in case I get tired of the chop stick and the waitress that a good ideal. The food is very yummy Fried rice is excellent. the dumpling are great. The waitress notice our table was full and offer us to take the food we did not finish eating. I said I like to put the food in the box. She takes the food and packed up the food and hold onto the food for us until it was time for us to go. The rest of the food I wanted to take home she packed up the food very nice! The waitress made sure we are satisficed without dinner. Over the service, food and location is great. I will be a repeat. Thank you for all your service. well done.

Dim sum was great, price was decent on dim sum but the entrees were not very good and pretty expensive. For example, combo fried rice was 19$ which in my opinion is too expensive and definitely had tastier elsewhere.

Awesome Authentic Chinese food & Great experience!!A good friend brought me here & as soon as I walked through the door, it felt like old school San Francisco . The owner was very sweet & greeted us warmly. We were both born & raised in SF & my friend being Chinese American & a foodie, I knew it was going to be delicious!Even though I have never been there before, it was so nostalgic and warm. Walking to our table, my eyes were exploding as all the wonderful dim sum was everywhere!! The beautiful food & yummy aromas permeating the room...was I even in Hayward anymore?I grew up in North Beach neighboring Chinatown. So for a couple of hours I was transformed back into my childhood. Just before we walked in I was bragging to my friend about a little bakery in Chinatown with the best pork buns in the City. Then I tried Tins. Wow, I think my spot may have competition! I will FOR SURE be a regular at Tins from now on!! ;-)

My favorite dim sum spot in the area! They’re much better than Mayflower and they have an extensive selection, unlike most other Chinese restaurants. They actually offer small dishes of honey walnut prawns and Peking duck for lunch, which are rarely offered at dim sum restaurants. Great service, too.

Excellent quality for dim sum, especially the steamed rice rolls and mochi, and other Chinese dishes, but prices to match, IMHO. Also, if you order Peking duck, know that you are actually getting roast duck, which was what happened with us. So, delicious food, higher prices but still worth it on occasion. Service was good.

I used to always drive by here and it was always crowded. Ive always wanted to try it and I was not disappointed.I dont think these guys make anything bad.I had Fijian Style Fried Rice - it was okay. It had gravy on it. One of the best dim sum you can get in the tri-city area, we dont have to go to Oakland or San Francisco anymore for dim sum! The last time we came was on memorial day, and they were packed! Food came out late due to understaffed and they had to move us to accommodate a bigger party, so they got some of the orders mixed up. Not something I mind too much and overall I was happy since the service was good.

My Dad and I were on the hunt for spots in or close to Union City to fulfill our dim sum cravings. This was the closest spot to us with positive feedback. The restaurant is a little hard to see from the street, but after circling around a bit, we made it alive and well!The restaurant was packed. Fortunately we got seated pretty quickly. I actually would give Tins Teapot Bistro 4 stars, but because of their discriminatory service they lost a star and respect.The server was super nice and welcoming when taking our order. Until she saw me using sign language with my Deaf dad. Her face and body language changed entirely. In Chinese culture, the Deaf are looked down upon and severely oppressed. And since this happened to my family, I was able to immediately recognize the signs. She immediately became cold, rude and not welcoming with us. And while we should have just walked out at this point, we didnt let it ruin our meal. But this is not something anyone should have to deal with, especially in the states. We arent in China. This little dim sum restaurant is located in Haywood. Even though we were rather early, 11am, it was filled with people already. We were lucky to get a table right away because we only have 4. We ordered 10 dim sum dishes and a flat noodles dish. I found them to be very tasty and authentic Chinese food. The meal isnt very costly either. When we left, the place was packed with people waiting to be seated and there were no parking space either. I guess other people feel the same as I do ... This is a good place to have authentic Chinese dim sum.

Mixed outcome, wont be back. My shrimp dish was perfection. The other had sweet and sour pork. To be subtle, it did not agree with him. So I had the rest of his takeout the next day for lunch. Uh, didnt set well with me either. Didnt taste off, but something was for us. Wont go back. There are other choices.

Yes! Theres actual dim sum in Hayward. It tastes like your typical Chinatown dim sum but its located in Hayward instead. Not only do they serve dim sum all day and all night, they also have very good Chinese dishes. We tried the house chow mein, seafood claypot, crispy fried chicken and the won ton soup. All very good. Huge variety of food, all of which was fantastic and tasty. The taro was SUPER crispy and had a lot of filling. The fried shrimp balls were juicy and the dipping sauce added a much needed sweetness and creaminess. The BBQ pork buns were very flavorful and not too bready either. Very delicious, fresh, good service Chinese Cantonese food. My family and I (we are chinese) have come here for dimsum and dinner multiple times. Both have been really good, not too greasy and always fresh. Service is pretty fast, we dont wait that long for food. I think Tins Teapots customer service is actually better than most Chinese restaurants. They will never be as over the top friendly as a western restaurant lets say. But comparing it to other Chinese restaurants, Tins service is nice, polite, quick, and responsive. Other Chinese places have servers with scowls on their faces like they dont want to be there let alone serve you. This place does not do that. Hopefully they can keep this up.

Tins Teapot is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Hayward. My husband and I come here for dim sum or Cantonese dinners every week, and we never tire of it.Im a vegan Chinese-American, so its harder for me to find a really good Cantonese restaurant with plenty of vegetarian menu items. I love their Hong Kong style chow mein which comes with lots of Chinese veggies and veg-friendly gravy. For dim sum, I get the vegetarian dumplings, green onion pancakes, tofu dishes, Chinese donuts wrapped with rice noodles or the Buddhas delight version with mixed mushrooms.I am particularly impressed with the high quality, more expensive Asian vegetables they use as opposed to other restaurants just using carrots, celery and American brocolli. In their veggie noodles, they put in sweet snow peas and mushroom dishes have exotic mushrooms and white fungus.I am impressed that Tins Teapot has the most diverse clientele Ive ever seen at an authentic Catonese restaurant. All are truly welcome and I appreciate the efficient and good service!

We ate at the Tins Teapot Bistro for dinner, after eating Dim Sum for lunch in Chinatown San Francisco so we werent sure what to expect. We ate mostly Dim Sum and it was comprable to what we ate for lunch. During the meal they got busy and food coming from the kitchen was slow, but Im presuming that they cooked the food to order since Dim Sum is usually a fast lunch meal.

Became a go-to dimsum restaurant. Sometimes we cant make the morning dimsum, but this place offers it all day. They arent open on Wednesday, and close from 3-5. The soy sauce noodles are super bomb, and theyre calamari is soo good. Its cut very thick, and has a nice peppery jalapeno kick.

Dears friendsChi Jau KaiIf you dare to make chi chi jau kay at home here they have several paths.The road of ancient chifa.We macerated two skinless chicken leg fillets for half an hour in a spoonful of ostion sauce, half a teaspoon of sugar, a pinch of salt, a teaspoon of mensi, a teaspoon of liquor, a pinch of star anise. Then we steam it for about three minutes. Chill and pass through beaten egg and then chuño and fry in hot oil.The sauce is made by sweating a teaspoon of ground garlic in a splash of oil. We add a teaspoon of mensi sauce. Add a teaspoon of oyster sauce and two tablespoons of sillao. Add a cup of chicken broth, salt, sugar and finally add a teaspoon of chuño dissolved in water. Let it thicken and add a tablespoon of sesame oil.At the end place the chicken cut into pieces in a dish and cover with the sauce sprinkling with toasted sesame seeds.Please make this plate
