TK Cafe Hawaiian BBQ in uptown Monrovia provided a satisfying experience all around. It’s a small family-run counter serve operation with great Hawaiian inspired plate lunch comfort food, especially for meat lovers.The place is tucked in a corner of the Vons mall at the southwest corner of Myrtle and Foothill, so plenty of free parking. The chef and manager Ken took my order and was very friendly and helpful to recommend certain specialties on their menu.I ordered the Chicken Combo (BBQ Chicken and the crispy Katsu Chicken) and the Hawaiian BBQ Mix (BBQ Chicken, BBQ Beef, and substituted Teriyaki Chicken in place of Kalbi Beef). Both plates come with two scoops of white rice and a scoop of Mac Salad. See images.Their BBQ Chicken is definitely a specialty, flavorful, and both combos I received were a generous serving of the moist and flavorful chicken.I would go back the next time I’m in the mood for Hawaiian plate lunch and would recommend 5 stars compared to other local counter serves in Monrovia.

Large portions, good food and service. Largely take out only, so I called in my order and went to pick up which was ready when promised. Tired the Hawaiian BBQ mix plate which has a ton of chicken, two huge pieces, bbq beef and short rib (just 1). Taste was better than most Hawaiian BBQ spots, so no complaints there. Mac salad was good too, but only wish I had ordered more as it only had one scoop. Not complaining, just stating facts. Also tried the wontons in chili oil. It hit the spot, but not a stand out and should have been expected since it’s not that style of restaurant. Will stick with the Hawaiian style options next time. Definitely worth the visit.

A total 5 out of 5 at TK Café & Hawaiian BBQ!Come on Wednesday for their $2.58 Spam musubi special and in addition the chicken katsu ($10.48 total!) Portion-wise, I’m assuredly going to have enough to take home for leftovers.Tastes great and not the best I’ve ever had but this is just as solid as any other Hawaiian place I’ve been to and probably about $2-3 cheaper.I love supporting small businesses, and TK’s got a fan in me whenever I stop by Monrovia now!

An Asian family owned Hawaiian BBQ Cafe. I have been here a couple of times during the past year. It is truly a great cafe, the foods taste great, large portion for the price. They even have some dim sum on the menu and some boba drinks selection too. Today, I ordered the Mahi & BBQ chicken combo for 7.99, spam musubi 2pcs for 3.58 & sausage musubi 2pcs for 3.58. They are so good that even my 2 year old son loves the Mahi Mahi. So happy that I find this small cozy Cafe. It is located at the Monrovia plaza where Vons market is. I will definitely recommend to my family and friends.

Large potion sizes and fast services, I highly recommend it!2023-6-25I gave this place a 5-star review but have to update it and reduce it to 4. Because a lady who was working here and the kitchen gentleman were having an argument, and it lasted for about 8 minutes. I was inside waiting for my food during the whole time! They acted I was nonexistent and the volume kept on getting louder and reached unbearable levels.This was very unprofessional and should be avoided in the future. I hope they see this and realize what they did was improper!

I love this place for hawaiian bbq. like with everything post-covid the prices have defin gone up, but its still worth it bc of the taste and portion size. I cant get enough of their katsu, teriyaki sauce, and their winter melon milk smoothie. I love the daily specials menu. I love supporting this small business. I also love that they let me phone in my order so its ready for pick up when I arrive. there is a parking lot so I dont have to worry about where Im going to park my car. I love this place even their macaroni salad has enough mayo to be legit.

Excellent portion control, maybe lousy portion control. It was HUGE. Wife had a chicken bowl while I had the bbq mix, neither of us could finish the portions were so big. Lots of meat, rice and vegetables. I even liked the macaroni. If We ever come to City of Hope again, we may need to come here again as well.

Family meal for the win! Lemme say before I ordered the pakalolo in my system was strong, so I went hard. Katsu chicken - amazing. Kilua pork - you gotta order when going Hawaiian if you eat pork, shredded so good, seasoned excellent, added with the sauces they provide and home run! Real family level volume, real family level pricing. We’ll be back!

Great food and awesome service. I always get one of their lunch combo plate and everything on them are great. My only gripe is that my lunch starts at 11 a.m., which is when they open. I often miss half of my lunch time waiting but I guess we cant always be lucky. However, the food is great and the prices are fair.

This is one of those unexpected little places that you will pass by if you blink. Well, we were looking for food a little different from our usual places and found the TK Cafe to be a nice place for a bite to eat.The food is fresh, hot, and delicious. If you enjoy great fries then you have found the right place. Seriously, you will adore theirs!The prices are great and the owners and staff are friendly and always smiling and kind. Check them out. A Hawaiian BBQ place that also sells good boba milk tea? They also have huge portions and it is really affordable. I would say two plates here could definitely feed 3 people, maybe even 4 if they dont eat alot. I recommend the Chicken Katsu plate, garlic shrimp, bbq short ribs and spam musubi. For drinks, the sea salt teas are all good and the milk tea smoothie is a must-try. The owners are really nice and the service is always great!

The Katsu Chicken and macaroni salad are really good. The service is great too. However, the Kailua Pork is really salty. I dont know if its supposed to be that way, but it was too much for me and I love salt. The Kalbi Short Rib was a bit gamey for me.

Just ate here for the first time as we were in town. Host was super friendly and nice. We ordered loads of food; Hawaiian BBq chicken, pork shumai dumplings, chicken pot stickers, spring rolls and steamed veg. All were steaming hot, fresh and amazing.My favorite was the Hawaiian chicken, juicy and tender, absolutely delicious.Maybe exterior could be better, almost didnt go inside but so so glad I did! I have 3 boxes of food left for dinner!

The first time we came here my boyfriend and I each got the chicken combo with bbq chicken and chicken katsu and were amazed at how much they give you. We had enough leftover for a whole other meal. Now we order one and just split it so we both eat for about $8 (and usually still cant eat it all at once.) The chicken portions are very generous and the combo also comes with rice, veggies, and macaroni salad. Definitely grab some of the teriyaki sauce to dip the chicken in, too!

Thats what she said.FOOD:Musubi - I love their musubis... they put a lot of rice, but I just remove some. The sauce and spam is good. The seaweed is wrapped really well.Chicken Katsu - MAKE SURE YOU GET THE SAUCE. They dont give it to you. You have to get it from the side. But its good. Currently they offer delivery and take out only due to COVID. You need to call first to order because that will expedite the process. Service was fast. Staff was nice and competent. They followed the health protocol. They have an extensive food menu and drinks. I ordered their hawaiian chicken bbq (with rice, macaroni and cabbage) and mango slush boba.
