In Old Downtown Placentia this is the best restaurant I’ve been to so far. The burrito was really good! Staff was friendly and food came out quick. Will be back soon!

Tlaquepaque is one of the best mexican restaurants around placentia carnitas are one of the best that i try around orange county and other dishes that they have come and try their food. Ask for raul senior he make everything happen exelent in his restaurant and the customer service he provides is one of the best. This is my companies go to for our holiday functions. Its really good Mexican food and the fact that they easily handle 20-26 people is testament to the skill of the cooks and staff.I highly recommend this place if you want good authentic Mexican food and a cozy cantina feel.I also heard they make fantastic tamales but I havent tried them yet. Its just what Ive heard so far.

Brand new to the placentia community and my wife and I we were looking for a quick place to have a drink and we stop by at Tlaquepaque to have some drinks and they had their own craft cocktails and we were impressed we would come back to try out their food and have another round of different drinks

The chicken and steak fajitas were great and perfectly seasoned. I got a horchata too which I really liked because it was served well so there wasnt sediment on the bottom.I need to go back and try other things on the menu!

Delicious food, great service! We had the crab enchiladas and a jalapeño cucumber margarita. Nice atmosphere. A lady came by and put fresh flowers on all the tables. We will definitely come back.

I just got an enchilada plate. I felt like it was way too much sauce. It was kinda spicy too which isnt bad. Rice was delicious. Beans were ok. Waiter was on top of it with everything though. I do wish they gave us more chips to go along with our food.Place was very clean! I wouldnt go back on my own but maybe if was a meeting spot.

My daughter had a game against Valencia high school, which is just up the road from Tlaquepaque. I havent been there for years. It wasnt too crowded on a Friday night. The waitstaff was thin but so welcoming. We had a good selection. Mole de la casa, Chile relleno, burritos, and fish tacos. Most everyone was happy (my sons first experience with a wet burrito). He is still deciding. The cucumber jalepeno mixed drink was excellent. A fun evening our for dinner. And the building had such character.

Great atmosphere and Tom shelf service. Start out with fresh and sumptuous guacamole. Try their street tacos for an incredible melange of flavors. Flan for desert is a can’t-miss. Prices are moderate and the menu is extensive.

Great food at a good value. We were a party of 11 with 2 kids and our waiter and the rest of the staff were very attentive. It has a very family friendly atmosphere. We all enjoyed our meal. The special of green enchiladas with crab were absolutely delicious. Will go back when Im in the area.

Love this place a lot now. Used to only order the Mole de pollo dish, but now trying just about everything here. The mole is great, not too sweet. The combo plate in my picture is fantastic along with the red hibiscus drink. The fish tacos were really good too.

Just had an amazing meal here with my daughter and her boyfriend. FANTASTIC! From the chips and salsa to our meals (surf and turf, shrimp tacos, and carnitas)...and dont get me started on the guacamole...and outstanding use of spice that was unique and incredible.Everything was so fresh! Atmosphere was wonderful - and even more beautiful as the sun started setting (gave the place an ethereal glow). Our server Juan was excellent.Highly recommend. Im only here for a day and wanted something local (not chain). Could not have been happier.

Old town Palcentia is so Nostalgic. Im an 80s kid so it always reminds me of the good ol days if Orang County before she got all face lifted over the last 25 years driving thru the little neighborhood a few minutes and shop areas brings great memories. Anywho the resturant itself is on a corner. Traditional entry way and restaurant interior. There were about 3 or 4 tables upon our arrival. We got seated within a minute or 2 and viewed the menu. Everything on the menu looked great, and the food was absolutely delightful! I got a wet burrito, half green half red mole and wished I would have got it the red, dont get me wrong the green was great but I Love me some good red mole. Drinks were great as well. We really enjoyed our time here. We didnt feel the typical rushnesd by the wait staff to order, eat, drink, and get out. Very different than a chain resturant. We spent about an hour and a half in total eating, chit chatting and 2 rounds of drinks. I would recommend this place to bring a date, a relative or family members or a few friends for a start on the night on the town. Food portions are great. Look forward to our next visit. P.s. the chips and Guacamole portion is the biggest Ive got at any resturant and is fresh made order it as appetizer and mix woth house salsa!

First time here and everything was great! We had the Chile Verde burrito and chicken tacos. The green sauce on the burrito and the Chile Verde itself were delicious. The chips are also really good, which isnt the case everywhere. And the Chen tacos had quite a bit of chicken in them, which is also really nice to not be skimped on. Also great service and nice staff! Well be back.

I have to say I was disappointed in the selection of brunch. For 40 bucks a person I would think there would be more food and they wouldnt run out. They advertise chilaqiules on the website for brunch but it was sold out. I also saw people with taquitos and when I went for some they sold out. If Im paying the same as the people that came earlier we should have the same food. They also advertise Agua Fresca but its feels liked powdered drinks all they had were lemonade, water and something labeled fruit punch but tasted like watermelon with something else. If you want sods its extra. Its 2 hours max to eat but be prepaired to be on line for about 45 of the 2 hours. It did have live music and the employees were very nice. The best food was the taquero outside. The other food inside was ok. I would recommend el torito for brunch as they have way more food and include drinks and its cheaper. I wouldnt go back for brunch. 150 dollars I regret spending.

The atmosphere was nice with traditional decor and the patio/street was nice and clean. The enchilada trio was perfectly portioned, not too big so you can enjoy all 3 styles. Since I have found this place I have been going at lesser 1-2 times a month.Great service.Even better food!Ask for the premium margarita, it’s made from scratch and is delicious.They have tables, chairs and tents in the parking lot, and lights throughout the downtown area. I love the atmosphere and now they just opened outdoor dining today with specials on drinks and an all you can eat style dinner. I ordered carne asada burrito from this place, and it was very disappointing. The beef was not carne asada at all. It was some kind boiled beef fried with oil on the flat iron or pan, and not the smoky flavor one can expect from the what people know as carne asada. It even tasted stale like it was from the day before, and yes it was pricy, $13.00. Please dont waste your time and money buying from this place, I dont recommend it, and I wont be coming back even if their food was for free .and yes I am a big fan of Mexican food. It is almost the same practice as the El Farolito, which is a block away to the north, just not as expensive. My next try will be at Mi Casita, 2.5 blocks to the west, they just dont open for lunch but unitl 3:00pm. Hopefully, Mi casita wont be as grossly disappointing as this place.

Great taco platters........the al pastor here is fantastic. Never have to wait to get a table even during lunch hour. This is a good place to bring a large group as theyre more than happy to reshuffle around tables to suit your group. The beans and rice are also really good, which is always a good metric to judge the quality of a mexican restaurant by. Theyre also good at walking around and refilling beverages consistently.

Heard about this place from a friend.Went all the way down to our 30 minute drive...........Last Sunday we called before we got there. And asked if they had Green Chile and cheese tamales.And they said yes. When we arrived she said they were all out. What? I told her we drove all this way.She couldn’t even seat us to have any other food items. She didn’t compensate anything. Didn’t seem to care. If I was a business owner. I’d at least say come back for 2 free drinks on the house. But, no sorry or anything. Just basically out of luck.

I really like the outdoor setup for the food business there in old town Placentia. Tlaquepaque is is Mexican food restaurant with a limited menu with representative dishes such as birria, enchiladas, tacos chiles rellenos and some more seafood dishes as well. The bar service is great, they have a cucumber and jalapeño margarita they is very refreshing and has great flavor. Juan our server was quite busy taking care of plenty of tables but was still able to provide excellent service. Definitely coming back here

Really good Mexican brunch. They have very good traditional mexican food. From chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, pozole, carnitas, enchiladas and much, much more. You dont serve yourself because there are three cooks ready to serve you whatever your heart desires from the buffet bar. And if you want say an omelette or something made to order they will happily cook it for you. And the three glasses of champagne you get they really go well with your meal. The salsa bar and the dessert bar are very good. The live music starts at 11 am and it make your food more enjoyable. Make sure to get there before noon because it gets packed or if you plan to get there after noon make sure you reserve your spot specially for large parties. The prices are reasonable ($23 for adults and $10 for kids under 12). The staff is very welcoming and attentive. Overall a very good brunch experience. We will be back for sure.

El Faro-who?I have eaten at the place up the street and not been impressed, usually dragged by others that want to eat there. Often an hour or more wait. The Mariachi Guadalajara was wonderful. Although there were 4 it sounded like 8. The main singer had an amazing voice. The food however was not very good. Take-out tacos from the window requires that you buy for a crowd. Spicy, authentic, and irresistable-everyone will want one (three) if you are returning to a crowd with your food. Service is nothing without good food, bad service with good food doesnt much jar me, but both are very good at this hole-in-the-wall, out-of-the-way jewel.
