Toa Yuen Restaurant in San Mateo

I ordered the chicken chow fun last night from this restaurant. All the instructions were followed except that I found out that they used precooked chicken ( probably use for teriyaki chicken). I have never eaten a chicken chow fun made with premade teriyaki chicken before. I remember now that I ordered a chicken fry vermicelli was the same.

I had lunch at the Toa Yuen restaurant at San Mateo. I ordered the plate with three options. I selected the orange chicken, fried rice and the green vegetables. The restaurant was clean, the staff is polite, and there are plenty of parking available. The food was just so so, the Choctaw’s not bad, but the rice and vegetables were bland. For a fast lunch was not bad, but could be better.

Ive been coming here for almost twenty years and they never disappoint. The staff are super friendly and the food is delicious. Its a relatively unknown little place, but by far my favorite in San Mateo. I recommend anything on their menu, but I personally LOVE their chow mein and sizzling rice soup.

I have been coming here since 2003 whether it was pick up, delivery, or the steam table. No matter how I ordered it its quick and easy. They do give you a longer delivery time but they definitely come before that. I do understand that delivery cant take up a large part of ones time.

Great place for quick Chinese lunch. Combo plates for lunch. Food is fresh, inexpensive, and good options. They offer brown rice. Service was outstanding! Con: Some dishes are a little in the sugary side.

When we were new in town we ate here. Best Chinese food in town. Love this gem of a place. Glad your still here!!

Pretty awful food. Do not by any means order the seafood. They overcook it until its hard as a rock.

Great food fresh good lunch special very good fair price and alot of food not super greasy and best of all ran by good honest hard working people like you and me

Food was very good but pickup order took much longer than was told when I placed the order.
