Entrance is through Kukje, which explains how this restaurant can have the biggest menu, fresh ingredients, and just about everything available in takeout packaging. This is a must try, especially if you plan on eating before shopping. I have many memories of reluctantly spending time at Korean grocery stores growing up. Now as a parent, I look forward to sharing this nostalgia with my kids!

This restaurant is inside of a Korean Grocery store and the food is very good. Not sure whats with the Hot Tea in a glass, ouch.

The little restaurant inside Kukje market is finally re-opened. I had a California roll $5.50 and a beef bibimbap $18. The food here is not bad. I enjoyed the little dishes of kimchi. The meal also included a paper cup of miso soup. I liked how the bibimbap had the hard pieces of rice on the bottom. There were plenty of beef with chopped vegetables mixed in there. The fried egg on top was runny inside. Great job restaurant crew at Kukje!

Honestly, I’m a fan. Let’s just start by saying we had a smalllll wait time (less than 5 mins) during a crazy brunch rush on Sunday. BUT the waitstaff of two were hustling. And there were a lot of tables. And ppl waiting after us.They used to have this amazing seafood noodle soup dish I was obsessed with, but it’s probably for the better that I don’t binge eat on ALL those carbs. Mmm carbs. Okay, back to the point. Seafood soondubu it was. Solid, solid choice. Especially for a NorCal location. Is it better than SoCals spots? Hell no. Is it fresh ingredients and decently priced Korean in the Bay? Yeah, sure. I mean it’s sitting inside of a grocery store, after all. Sooo it better be fresh (it was btw).Despite the busy staff, the waitress was hustling. And that’s all you can really ask for. She did it all with a good attitude. And came by as frequently as she could, when we had requests. I can appreciate the effort made. 4 stars!

Great spot by the market. Enjoyed their complementary hot corn tea. Very polite staff too because they miss one of our order and offered us a free drink on the house plus 10 percent off on our finally receipts. The tofu soup is very good so recommend that and you cant go wrong with it.

A nice little quaint restaurant with good food either for dine-in or for taking it to go. Not a fancy joint, but it sort of gives you that feeling of being in one of those off street eating places youd see while watching a K-drama.

Kukje supermarket is great, but the restaurant inside is not as great as you’d hope. The food isn’t cheap and the dishes are hit or miss. Occasionally there are discounts for certain items, so be sure to check the supermarket flyer. Wouldn’t recommend the jajangmyeon, jjamppong was ok, and the naengmyeon was good but pricey. I would still come back to try more.

The worst service I ever had in the Bay Area. The owner mother and daughter are so mean. They think it means “hello or welcome” by asking “how many” with angry face and attitude.Not only the service, I had kalbi bbq and it was not only so pricey the meat was so hard and chewy, And there were only three pieces of ribs, rest was just slices of meats, not ribs and the price is $39.Also I had another time the kalbi soup and the soup was just salted water. I never ever go this place again.

We placed an order on the phone to save time. When my parents and I got there we asked if we can eat the food we ordered at a table and the waitress said no because it was only for dine-in… while there were so many open tables.As for the food, it tasted quite average. We had the beef bulgogi.I don’t think I would come back again because of this experience.

Food was good. The ban chan was great and so was the fried chicken wings and pa jeon. The bulgogi could have seen a bit more crispy. Prepare to wait for a while to be started and served. Place is inside our favorite Korean market kukje.

Located inside Kukje (or colloquially called K Mart), I ate here with family recently, and I cant say it was that good. Most of the stuff was on the bland side.We had a tofu soup and galbi tang, and both were really flavorless. They both were devoid of salt, so adding some would be a good start. I cant really offer more suggestions until the basic seasonings are addressed.The bibimbaps stone pot wasnt hot enough so the layer of crispy rice didnt form. The egg on top was also overcooked so the yolk wasnt runny. Sadness all around.If you find yourself eating here, the grilled meats are always a safe choice. It doesnt stand out from other Korean restaurants, and its not really cheap or anything either, but their Korean BBQ is probably the best thing on the menu.Overall, I think there are many other better choices for Korean food elsewhere.

I really like their spicy tofu soup with kimchi and beef. Most dishes are spicy here. Service is slow so dont be afraid to wave them down. Lunch time especially on the weekend is very crowded so be prepared to wait.

I always eat korean food because I am a traditional Korean at heart. I have dined at every korean restaurants in Dallas, TX and I was visiting SF and this restaurant because some of the other korean restaurants in SF were closed on Tuesday I find odd time to be closed during the business week!This restaurant has NO environment just a building that serves korean food. The question is, was it good??? I say IT IS NOT the best korean restaurant in SaF that I’ve tried.I’ve tried Wooden Charcoal Korean Village BBQ in SF is one of the tastiest and I really enjoyed their concept of charcoal bbq. One thing to keep in mind is that the charcoal gets VERY HOT so be careful while grilling your meats.I live in Dallas, TX and the VERY BEST TRADITIONAL KOREAN RESTAURANTS are in Dallas, TX!!!!!In Dallas they have ALL YOU CAN EAT KOREAN BBQ!!!!!!! Heaven on earth!! And in Dallas they do not charge you extra if you request for more rice and more sides like they do in San Francisco!! Lame!

Cool little Korean restaurant inside the Kukje Market. It has had various names in the past including Kukje Grill and Kukje Market Restaurant. The food here is good, pretty standard Korean cuisine. No frill decor, food served piping hot. Service is decent.

When its busy they intentionally avoid answering phone so give up on phone orders during dinner time. Im sure the owner is clueless about this. You can let it ring until Sunday and theyll never answer.

I always come here for Asian groceries. Definitely handy when you want to grab something to go for lunch. Some items are a bit pricey but Im Filipino. Some things you just cant get anywhere else.
