We are visiting the area, our hotel recommended this sushi restaurant. So glad they did :) Quality & presentation was wonderful, the service from all four waitresses was superb. They were very attentive and really impressed us. Great job ladies - we will be back.

We were out of town hanging at Magic Mountain. We found this place and seen it had great reviews. We got there and had to be put on a waiting list. While we were waiting there were so many pick up orders flying out of there. Which usually tells me that the seafood would be fresh delicious. When we finally got seated about 20 mins later I will tell you that it was defiantly worth the wait. The foods presentation was off the charts. Everything came out steaming and hot, or crisp and crunchy. The service was the best, the food was so good and the atmosphere was relaxing and busy at the same time. If your ever in town this sushi spot is a must try.

Staff was very nice, held the door for me while I got my daughter through the doorway in her wheelchair. The food was freshly made and very good. Prices were great, definitely worth the money. If you find yourself wanting sushi, go here. Do NOT waste your time and money going anywhere else. The sashimi was very good, nice thick cuts and the presentation was very pretty.

This place is in a strip mall. Good sushi not bad. Overall experience is worth at least one. Try for everyone. You may or may like it. You may or may not, but overall I would recommend this place. Nothing special about the sushi so if youre not a sushi connoisseur then you will probably like it.

I walked in was & greeted by a pretty young lady. She sat me down and took my drink order & gave me some time to look at the menu. I had the lunch special. It was the chicken teriyaki with a side of beef bulgogi. The food came out about 5 minutes after I ordered it which is excellent timing. I ate every piece! It was really delicious, not too sweet and the salad tasted amazing. This is a fairly new restaurant and I did notice a few mistakes that were made, but overall it was an excellent experience.100% RecommendedTip: Sapporo goes well with this dish!

Overall, great staff and customer focused. They used to have a lot more food choices on the menu, but theyre gone (Kitchen food - like chicken katsu was my favorite there) the sushi and the portions are good. They also remodeled the place, but the decor is nice, simple and clean. I was hoping to sit in a booth (since I was brining my sleeping child in his carseat), but we made it work. I just wish there was a baby changing station in the bathroom.

So... I read up on this place and it replaced a previous sushi place called Sushi One... Judging by previous reviews, that place was a swing and a miss for many. This new restaurant, Tokai sushi, Tokai its way into the #1 spot! (Bad pun, i know ;_;) Anyways, its been consistently good throughout my experience here! We went during a pretty quiet hour at 7:00 P.M on a Saturday night and needless to say, being the only people there with me and my family, and needless to say we were treated well and looked after with constant refills of water and even wasabi! While their sushi menu is extensive, they also got pretty good bento boxes and even Poke! As well as beef! If im ever in the area again, ill be sure to come back here to try more sushi!

This was a great find on our business trip. A little slow on the service but well worth the wait. We had sushi rolls, Ramen, and edamame and it was all very flavorful and came in large quantities. The restaurant was clean, staff friendly, and room for small or large parties. We went during lunch and it wasnt busy but an even flow of customers continually came through or picked up their orders while we were there. The bowls of Ramen were very large and the amount of noodles you get is well worth the price. The waitress was very attentive to our needs and filled our drinks without us asking. This is a must try if you are in the mood for sushi or Ramen. You will not be disappointed. Plenty of parking and there are stores in the shopping mall if you eat too much.

Look…I normally don’t leave negative reviews but this needs to be public. I walked in on a Friday around 6:45pm and asked for a table for 1. It was rather busy and as a result I was told to wait about 5 mins. Less than 5 mins after, a couple walks in, asks for a table and is IMMEDIATELY seated. I looked back at the waitress who said it would be five minutes with a look of confusion and was told “don’t worry, I got you”. Rather than embarrass myself by getting aggressive, I just walked out. I don’t need to tell you what I look like as opposed to what the couple looked like in order for you and the rest of the reviewers here to understand why I’m upset. I would like a response back from management and for her to explain to you and myself why I was skipped over in that fashion.*response to owner*While I appreciate the response, it doesn’t properly address the issue while simultaneously making it seem as if what transpired was simply a result of me declining seating and being unreasonable.Why was the couple (2 people) sat BEFORE me?The “other waitress” was told by the “I got you” waitress to seat them, by the way. THAT is what prompted my bewildered look.

One of the better sushi places in Santa Clarita but very limited choices when it comes to drinks, meaning no bar, no happy hour time. So obviously not your go to place for an after work get together but definitely a must try if you have an appetite for good sushi.

Quite good restaurant with good quality and large fish pieces in both sushi and sashimi forms, especially considering the remote location. I would have given 5 stars except the calamari appetizer was over cooked and thus was quite chewy. It is however more than 4, making it worthy of additional visits.

This place is the best sushi place in town. The workers are so funny and so nice, the sushi itself is super tasty and filling. The rolls are affordable, but the sushi is a bit pricey... HOWEVER!! It is so worth it. Especially the yellowtail belly sushi. I cannot recommend this place enough

The food here seems ok/mid/not too bad. I feel like when it comes to sushi I can be very picky because theres many good sushi spots around LA but this one isnt one of them for me. Dont get me wrong its not bad either but with my experiences at this location every time Ive gone it seems like mediocre service, mediocre food, mediocre atmosphere & experience. I know people that love it here & I recommend you try it out for yourself! You may love it here & you may have they same opinions as me but you wont know until you find out. Good luck!

Went to Tokai Sushi tonight and they are officially on my boycott list. The food in the first pic is a 5 piece sushi combination with a spicy tuna roll. Im not sure how 5 pieces of the same fish make a combination so strike one. Next picture is a sushi burrito. Its pretty but very bland and overloaded with crab. Not great, but not a strike.Next strike goes to our server who took our order and did not show again tell she screwed up splitting the check. The check which we asked to split (5 of us) and even ordered in groups to make it simple. They never got the split right after 20 minutes so we ended up splitting the check on our own.Final strike was for food delivery. We ordered 7 items and each item came out separately roughly 5 minutes apart (After waiting 30 minutes for first item). I would understand if they were slammed, but they had three servers, two chefs, and maybe five tables occupied.We went when they opened and other then bland rice it was fine. Since then they have raised the prices, dropped all you can eat, and updated their menu removing every picture from the menu.If you decide to go here youve been warned!

Shishito peppers were drowning in a weird sugary sauce that was really gross. I love California rolls but theirs tasted off and I couldnt eat it. Also everything on the fresh roll menu is a basically just a California roll with some type of fish on it. Food made me feel sick. Tokyo Sushi is substantially better. Need more vegetable and vegan options.

The menu has changed and many favorites are gone. The inside of the building was so cold it was to uncomfortable to enjoy. The establishment is NOT ADA compliant. No one assisted us with the doors coming in with. Wheelchair. There was no automatic door for wheelchair accessibility. The workers inside just stared at us coming in.

The first time we went here it was phenomenal- best sushi I’ve ever had. The next time, the sushi came completely covered in some oily sauce (which was not how it was pictured on the menu) - instantly took the quality down 90%. Like ordering an expensive steak and it coming to your table soaked in ketchup.

I go to a sushi spot every Sunday and this is one I would go back to. I love saba and don’t see it on the menu often. Thankfully it lived up to expectations and it was absolutely delightful. I also ordered salmon belly and tamago which were excellent. The tamago sushi definitely looks made from scratch and not the kind you get prepackaged. The avocado roll had a generous amount of avocado and the miso soup was good. Service was great and the atmosphere was very nice. My only gripe was. The eel. Burnt, tough, dry. It had a weird texture and I wanted to spit it out but tried my best to be polite. So I just sat there making faces to get through it. I don’t think I’ll be eating eel any time soon! But everything else I ordered made up for that experience.

I used to love to go to this place after the gym or during my daughters mygym parents night outs. But the price of the thing I get, the salmon madness, has essentially doubled in a year and a half. It was ~$18 last August, then was $24.50 this June, and tonight (October) it was $32. Thats an absurd hike. It still tastes good, but a 100% increase in price for the same exact item is unreasonable.

This place has the fastest service I have ever seen in a sushi restaurant. They dont just assign people tables they work the entire restaurant as a team. The sushi came quick too Im literally talking like 10-12 minutes. They also accommodated my Celiac disease with gluten free soy sauce and a knowledgeable sushi chef. I will definitely return here because the service was fantastic. I came around 6-7PM.

This has become one of my new favorite sushi restaurants. They have a creative menu with inventive rolls and traditional ones. The fish has been fresh everything Ive been and the service is stellar. Ive had issues with other sushi restaurants in town where food is great but service is lacking. Tokai is not that place, its a definite must try.

I was pleasantly surprised with this place. We were on a job nearby and felt like sushi so we stopped in here. Everything was super fresh and delicious. I eat a lot of sushi and this is definitely a place I will go to again for sure the albacore roll with crispy onions was amazing and the nigiri was super fresh and awesome. I would drive the 30 miles from my house to go here again for sure! Good work! The patio seating was really nice too!

First time here tonight and it was great. Plenty of choices with friendly and attentive service. Patio was nice in early evening. My nephew and I shared several rolls and the monkey balls...everything was fresh and delicious. Portion size is very good as it took a lot less items than I thought it would to fill up a 16 year old with a hefty appetite and love of sushi. Will definitely come back here.

Seriously the best sushi I’ve been able to find up here in the SCV!! Whether you’re in the mood for sashimi, or fancy rolls — they have it all. I’ve found the quality to be great compared to a few others I’ve tried up here… my fav rolls: basic cut rolls — spicy tuna, yellowtail & salmon / fresh rolls — 911, Alaskan, Mexican / tempura rolls — forever, hot night, tiger / baked roll — dragon. This is a Japanese sushi restaurant operated by Koreans. The service is good and the sushi is okay. I like to come here during lunch. There are some happy hour specials in the afternoon. Plenty of tables and plenty of parking outside. Good value on the lunch and dinner items. I would come again.

The previous ownership was great, but sadly, he sold this place in March. The sushi is done well, but overpriced, and the customer service is lacking, hence these reasons for only giving 3 stars. Im often not greeted by anyone at the front, and wait for long periods of time before being addressed, like today for example. A simple hello, Ill be right with you is all it takes to keep me standing happily at your door waiting for my order during this pandemic. Please do not see me and ignore me for ten minutes.

Unsanitary. The sushi chefs are behind the counter touching their facemasks and then touching the food, plates, knives without washing their hands. They might as well luck their fingers, then touch the food. Folks need to take the masks off if theyre not smart enough to avoid the cross contamination.

I have no complaints for those who serves the food, but the food service waiting is unacceptable we waited almost an -hour, yet our food is not completely in our table stating that the restaurant is not busy at all. every 20 minutes they would deliver one plate, not even an appetizer [calamari] didnt reach our table. Its just not a good place to eat here.I dont recommend this place, stay away from this restaurant if you are famished.

First off, they have the largest menu of any Japanese restaurant I have been to, and the biggest variety of sushi, rolls, some items that I have never seen on a menu before. Everything was great except the oyster shooter. It was not served in a small enough glass to shoot. It was basically an oyster, a raw quail egg, floating in a lot of sake. It may have been nice if you could have combined those flavors in your mouth, but I had to fish the components out of the rocks glass full of sake. However, their sushi rolls were excellent, the fish was fresh, the service was fantastic (we ate outside under their tent with about 10 tables), and the edamame gyoza was crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside and so light I could have eaten a dozen. If you dont like imitation crab, for $1 or 2 more, they will use snow crab in your rolls. Pricing was very resasonable. I would go back any time I am in Santa Clarita area.

The restaurant is a medium size but still feels very homey. The gyoza and garlic edamame appetizers are very delicious. The fried crunch of the gyoza dipped in the ponzu is amazing. The base sauce of butter and soy for the edamame creates a smooth and saucy taste and texture. The salmon sushi was the best quality out of any sushi place in Santa Clarita. I am more of a rice fan so I got a couple of rolls. The double salmon just punches you in the face with salmon left and right. The Jessica alba provides an amazing contrast of texture with the crispy onions just piled on top. The crunch roll, while basic, is everything you want for a shrimp tempura roll. The sesame chicken is a mixture of perfectly sweet with a bit of heat. The green tea ice cream here is such a good deal for what you pay! That plus a bit of choco syrup and whip cream could fill any sweet tooth.

We Love Tokai Sushi!!!!It was our regular Friday night date during the summer, when my husband had summer Fridays. Now we go as often as we can.We have eatwn at a lot of sushi restaurants, even in Japan. Their salmon is beyond compare!! We end every meal with an order of salmon sushi each!We.recently discovered thay they have all you can eat sushi, too! A dangerous bet around us 😄We have gotten to know the owner, the sushi chefs, the wait staff and head waiter. They are so friendly and enjoy talking with us at the sushi bar. We learned about their interesting life stories, and how they became sushi chefs. Now we ask them to surpride us and create special off-menu items -- we are never disappointed!We love the atmosphere and the food and the people!! We have become Regulars!
