This spot never fails me! If I’m looking for great fried chicken I always come here! The chicken rice is amazing, mashed potatoes phenomenal, curry corn is out of this world! The spicy ponzu sauce is great on the chicken. I’ve sampled a lot of fried chicken and this is at the Top underneath my grannies fried chicken of course! This place makes me so happy it brings joy to my belly! 😂
I ordered Tokyo fried chicken on door dash! This used to be my fav chicken place but they don’t have thighs anymore, just drum sticks and tenders. It cost $60 for 6 piece chicken with a large corn curry. I don’t mind the premium because they are amazing but it was so weird they don’t serve the full chicken. The chicken is moist and the spicy ponzu is spicy.

Their portion sizes are really generous. I absolutely love the texture of their fried chicken. It is not too oily and on the lighter side. The outside is very very salty and the inside very tender and juicy. The chicken goes well with the ponzu/spicy ponzu sauce they provide. Their mac and cheese is also one of the best I’ve tasted! Very creamy and they use good quality cheese. I also liked their fried Brussels sprouts with goat cheese and vinegar as it helps balances out the flavor and texture of the more dense mac and cheese.
I’ve lived in the 626 my entire life and finally got to try Tokyo Fried Chicken after seeing so many posts about it on SGV eats. We made an online order set for pickup at 4:30 PM on a Saturday, and our food was ready to pick up around 4:20!We got the 3 piece set with 1 drumstick and 2 chicken tenders with the Spicy Ponzu sauce and curry corn, which came to a total of ~$16.The spicy Ponzu sauce was heavenly and there definitely was a kick! The chicken was fried and cooked perfectly, and was still cripsy after the 30 minute drive home.
I wish I could give it 10 out of 5 stars. The only issue I had with this restaurant was parking is difficult to find but what isnt in the 626. The Fried Chicken was juicy and the the sides and toppings they that you can add onto were amazing. If you are a lover of Fried Chicken you have to go to this place
Super yummy! We got the fried potato chips, meal for 4 and it included 4 sides, rice and a drum, thigh, and wing for each person.We had to run a quick errand so it took maybe 45mins after we picked up the fried chicken to eat it and it was amazingly still crispy!
Always my favorite place for fried chicken that comes with delicious sides. Ive brought so many friends here and theyve always come back for more. The decor is cute, the service is great, and everything here just screams wonderful. This is definitely number 1 on my list of fried chicken in LA.
Amazing food. Had the 3 person dinner and it was the perfect amount of food. The breading on the chicken was a tad oily and crumbly but still absolutely delicious. For sides we had the tofu, shishito peppers, and soy glazed yams. Will 1000% return, one of the most satisfying meals Ive had in a long time. Parking is a little rough but dont let that stop you from enjoying this place.

Some of the best tasting fried chicken Ive had! Be prepared for a line-up, it can take a while to get a seat but its worth it. Everything was delicious! From the fried chicken, to the chicken rice, fried brussels sprouts, and mac and cheese. Plastic gloves are also provided to keep your hands clean, as well as mild / spicy ponzu sauce to put all over your fried chicken.
The food!! Thats why I love this place. This is the best chicken Ive had anywhere in California. Everything Ive had here is good but I really like the coleslaw and Mac and cheese. Prices are super reasonable and the staff is accommodating.

I’ll start with the bad. Music is loud and the cold tofu should not be on the menu. The chicken 🍗 was good. Tender meat and crispy skin ✅. The beans were good too. More flavor would be good for the price.

The fried chicken is good (Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside), but I didnt really like their sides. We got the mashed potatoes, baked beans, and the mac and cheese.The sweet green tea and the yuzu lemonade are good too. The sweet green tea is like mildly sweetened black tea (except made with green tea of course). The yuzu lemonade is more citrus than lemonade and reminds me of a more mild calamansi juice.

Read some of the review and decide to give it a try, came on a weekday and still had to wait for a bit. Once we got seated so we of course order the Fried Chicken and we had the Corn, Beans, Slaw and Cabbage for the sides and Chicken Skin.To sum it up, I dont see anything special. Services were excellent, but its pricy for the Fried Chicken. I usually could kill 4 to 5 pieces of Popeyes but after 3 pieces here Ill have to stop, not because of the size but something make you dont want to eat another piece.Definately dont worth the price.

The chicken was CRISPY, even after a long car ride home in the bucket. A bit sweet, but not too bad. The cabbage salad was exceptional. This is solid good fried chicken if you want something a bit different from korean fried chicken. the sauces are what elevates it, really. i always need to get several of the tokyo mayo. its a sweet, gingery, creamy yuzu dipping sauce and i want to pour it over everything - and often will. we had no wait thursday afternoon. also, they were attentive and when my partner forgot his phone here, the staff came out running with it. strong recommend.

This is a unique and delicious experience.My other reviews are typically lengthy, but I just dont seem to have the words for how much I love coming here.The food is delicious. They dont have an expansive menu, but when youre that good, you dont need a ton of extra items. While the chicken is the star of the show and something any fried chicken lover should experience, I personally love the Mac and cheese, the curry corn (dont like curry? Try it anyway!), and the shishito peppers.Their order and pickup game is also on point. Its organized and reasonably on time. It can be a few minutes behind at times, but its ready to go, in a bag with your name on it and it has everything you need to enjoy the meal.

Awesome awesome food! The sweet potato yams are an amazing appetizer. The fried chicken skin is awesome, but sell out very fast.I got the 2 person meal with Mac and cheese as well as corn. All of these items were mouth watering and I plan to go back as soon as possible!The pricing is good for the amount and quality of food! I highly recommend to get there early though because the wait is always very long.

I was really excited to try this place based on the online reviews. Unfortunately, I was disappointed because I really couldnt taste the flavor of the chicken. I just tasted mostly the batter and the ponzu sauces. The sides are nothing to write home about either. The mac and cheese was presented well but lacked depth, it was too light and subtle for my taste. The curry corn was quite enjoyable despite its simplicity. I enjoyed the chicken skin though. It was flavorful and not at all oily and salty. Service was excellent throughout.
So I ordered online a good 45 minutes ahead and get an estimate. I tip preemptively and my wife goes to pick up on her way home from work. She gets there around the estimate time just to be told our order isn’t ready yet but still a walk up order placed while she waited was attended to before ours and our wait time was even extended. The online order was already paid for. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t just put our order through when it was placed and paid for. Really regret tipping them

Probably one of my favorite fried chicken places, definitely in the top 3.Usually fried chicken for me is too heavy, greasy, and breading too thick for my taste.But the chicken here was flaky, crispy and so flavorful. The meat was super tender and just seems to fall off the bone when you take a bite.
Its an okay place, but we are willing to give them a try again. Very creative in combining the southern and Asian flavors. However, the portion was very small for the price they charged. The cooked side dishes were overcook. Chicken good flavor but very small size.
Love their friend chicken. They have two sauces that they give you that are not spicy and spicy, personally the spicy is not that spicy but it adds the perfect amount of kick to it. The sides range from tofu to their type of collard greens. All the sides are pretty good. It is a small place with few seating options. They do serve alcohol.

HOLY MACKEREL. This is the best fried chicken Ive ever eaten in my life. Seriously. Try this place out. Its a very tiny little store. Get there early and put your name on the list to get a table. The chicken is so crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. The sides are a Japanese take on Southern sides, like collard greens and sweet potatoes. I love it so much. The lemonade and sweet green tea drinks have free refills. The vibe is super casual. I cant wait to come back. This store is in the same shopping center as Diamond Bakery, which is a really great little bakery.

We started with the fried chicken skin and truffle butter edemane. They were both really, really good. The chicken is excellent, but I have to confess to not really loving the curry corn. It was just too saucy. The baked beans were scrumptious, as was the chicken rice and the pickled cabbage. The roasted Brussels sprouts were also disappointing. To me, they tasted overcooked, almost burned, but the goat cheese brightened the flavor. The place was packed, but the service was speedy and attentive. Our glasses were refilled many times without us ever asking. They have a charming dessert menu, but we were just too stuffed.
Our party was here at 5:30 when they opened, still had to wait over an hour. Really not worth it for groups larger than 4. Personally I enjoyed the sides more than the actual chicken. If you enjoy more of the fried skin, you’ll like this place. For my taste, the chicken just didn’t do it for me.
Oh my goodness the chicken is so flavorful, so crispy and NOT GREASY! the sides are so delicious, its comfort food yall wear stretchy pants. The way they have the pick up set up is easy peasy and so organized only thing is they have a table outside that they place orders on for contactless pick up so if you are not there a few minutes before your pick up time your food will be sitting outside until you get there, we planned to get there 10 ish minutes before and got out food right as it was coming out! so so so delicious. Ordering ONLINE was awesome!

The food is amazing. My family loves it. Its a small place and is popular so theres usually a bit of wait. They are kid friendly with high chairs and sippy cups. The chicken has such good flavor and texture. The sides are fantastic. I recommend the brussel sprouts with goat cheese and the watermelon salad. My family has been here a handful of times and we will continue to return. The staff is wonderful too. Everyone had a smile the whole night, checking to see if we needed anything, making sure we had water, and the biggest thing is despite their small place being packed with people everywhere theyre very patient, calm, positive...theyre just happy. Always smiling and show that they want to be there, its really great. That makes the whole Tokyo Fried Chicken experience super awesome. Thank you everyone there, well see you soon again!
Had a good meal here with two friends of mine. There was a wait for like 45-min on a Friday night at 9pm. The food was worth the wait. The sides, especially the fried brussel sprouts with cheese, and the fried chicken was delicious. Crispy skin but still juicy inside.
The fried chicken is DELICIOUS!!!! Dinner for two this good and still comes in just under $40? You gotta try this place! Be prepared to wait a little bit (we had beginners luck and got a table right away) its a pretty popular place - with good reason. The wait staff are all very friendly and efficient, food was coming out of the kitchen in a timely manner and piping hot. If youre craving fried chicken, this will definitely hit the spot! Mac n cheese and watermelon salad were delicious as well!

Just walking inside, the smell was intoxicating. My meal was really great, the chicken was perfectly crispy and fried without being dried out. I definitely recommend the spicy ponzu sauce for an interesting kick. I had the glazed yams which were amazing - sticky and sweet on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. Plus the selection of local craft beers was nice.
5-STAR RECOMMENDATION: This is by far the best Japanese fried chicken restaurant PERIOD! The chicken is so delicious (especially with the sauces)! Ask for more of the lemon sauce! The curried corn is delicious! Since this is a popular restaurant, the wait times can be long (especially during peak hours). There is plenty of parking.

It took a long time (15-20 mins?) for the food to come but I think they make it fresh. My hungry self started chomping on the very hot chicken, and oh my goodness, SO DELICIOUS!! It had a very unique flavor, an Asian twist on fried chicken. It is quite pricey (minus the one star), but the delicious food makes up for it. Would love to come here again.

You reach some point in your American life that all fried chicken starts to taste the same and the only thing you want to eat on it is the fried skin (you know this is true). So you can understand my hesitation when my boyfriend proclaimed one evening on our way to Hot Pot Hot Pot he wanted to try this placed out instead.But god damn, this isnt your American boring fried chicken.This really has to be the most moist and flavorful fried chicken Ive ever had in my life.The flavors are a wonderful marriage of Japanese and American but never overpowering the subtle chicken flavor. I mean holy crap is the best way to describe this. The other fantastic thing about this fusion fried chicken is I actually wanted to devour the meat. I didnt want to just eat the skin my boyfriend and I were obsessing about getting every last little piece of succulent tender meat off that bone. Since when do you ever eat fried chicken were the meat is just as good as the skin.The side dishes are also wonderful. We loved the curry corn and the lotus side dishes. We highly recommend those. All their special sauces were fantastic. Each one offered a unique flavor twist with the chicken.And that basic rice that is served is SO GOOD. They put something in it so its not boring white rice. Whatever it is its just so good and pairs perfectly with the chicken and side dishes.Hats off to the chef. Fried chicken will never be the same for me after visiting. Keith from try guys is the reason I visited and the superstar staff is the reason I’m coming back every time I visit LA, especially Aiko (I think that’s her name sorry if it got it wrong!) who was extremely patient with me because it took me forever to decide. Any first timers should get at least two drums and the yuzu lemonade. This place changed the game!
Very tasty and quick friendly service. Chicken is crispy and flavorful and there are a large variety of sides. Prices are moderate and the place is not large inside and the wait can be quite long. Plan to be there at the first seating (530) or come after 8 or there will likely be a long wait.

Ah such a cool little gem in the MPK! Delicious comfort food. Just try it because an explanation doesnt beat the taste. Good drinking option including a delicious seasonal apple pie sake served up warm! Can get crowded and there could be a wait. Call and check before going so you dont get upset over nothing. Thats right, 10 tables, so get ready to wait for a long long time if theres more than 20 people in the restaurant.Looks are goodThe restaurant has general beer menu and great art. As mentioned before theres only 10 tables. Last night I was there and it was full with about 8 people waiting outside and the next customers was told they needed to wait 40 minutes to eat. Wow. The place is small with very very dim lighting, so dim I had to use my phone as a light source to look at the menu.Simple MenuIn-N-Out style. Theres a choice of how big you want your meal, 1 person, 2 person, so on. From there you choose your sides, which are really really good. Variety of goodies such as curry corn, sweet yams, mac and cheese and many more amazing sides.Overdone ChickenIt took almost 30 minutes for our food to come out for some reason, wasnt happy about that. The chicken was a little burnt. The first drumstick we had was amazing, it was very juicy and moist on the inside, but maybe we were hungry. This place always has very long wait, even at 30 mins before closing, we had to wait for 30 mins. It also didnt look like they offered any chicken breasts. If you are into breast meats, this is probably not the place for you.
I had really high expectations for Tokyo Fried Chicken Co. and along with the 45 minute wait, I expected really amazing chicken. I think I left a little underwhelmed, just because the buildup of the food was so great.Ambience: The restaurant is very small, so to have people willing to wait almost an hour for food seems to show that the food is pretty good. Ive been to The Open Door, and a lot of the interior (writing on the walls that advertises the menu, lighting) is the same. There are lots of small booths that sit mostly 2 and 4 parties. The lightning is very dim and reflects a more intimate, comfy place to eat at.Parking: It gets insane on busy Friday nights and the weekend, and because the plaza is so tiny and close to Little Fat Sheep, chances of finding parking in the lot can become slim. Theres an additional smaller lot to the left of Tokyo Fried Chicken, and there are residential streets a block or two away if youre willing to walk.Food: Youre able to order individualized chicken pieces, but the focus revolves around set meals - dinner for 2, 3 and 4 with varying prices. My friends and I had the dinner for three which included three wings, drumsticks and thighs along with 3 sides, chicken rice and house pickled ginger cabbage. You can literally feel the oil that was used to fry these pieces of goodness soak into your face. But they were so delicious. If youve ever had pork skin chips, it tastes a lot like that except the skin is so much crispier and packed full of flavor.-Battered potato chips: These were okay, but I liked the chicken skin more. I had to load the chips with lots of ketchup.By the time the chicken came, I was pretty excited. Im a ketchup and fried chicken kind of girl, so when they gave me the ponzu soy sauce and the other dipping sauces, I wasnt used to it at all. Yes the chicken was quite smooth and tender and yes the chicken skin was crispy and light. But did it blow me away? No - honestly, I compared it to Churchs fried chicken and probably would have traded my chicken for Churchs especially after the bill came. Nothing special and nothing mind-blowing ... just average fried chicken in my opinion.The chicken rice reminds me of Hainan chicken rice, with lots of flavor. The sides that we chose were okay, but nothing amazing (probably since we didnt opt to upgrade the sides). The lotus roots were good, but the sauce left my mouth feeling very numb from the sourness. We also had the carrots with bacon (no bacon taste whatsoever and the carrots were hard) and the corn, which was okay, but not memorable.Service was great and the waitress was really patient with us as we tried to settle on what side dishes to order. She came back to refill the water glasses several times throughout the night. I like how they give you a glove to wear so you can gnaw on the chicken with one hand and daintily use a fork to eat rice with the other! The sauces were interesting, but I definitely prefer ketchup.tl;dr - Overall, it was a miss for me. At almost $20 including tax and tip per person, I dont think I will come back again when I can just get fried chicken from Churchs or Popeyes.
This chicken is super fire. It took a while, 30-45 minutes because it was made to order. The drinks, the chicken was just WOW.I would come back here if I am around this area.

Still a bit of a little known gem, Tokyo Fried Chicken Co is where Id suggest if you had a fried chicken craving in his area. Their variety is seasoned well, with a flavor thats a little sweeter and flakier than your average fried chicken. Addition of Japanese appetizers and the craft beer really make an amazing meal!
Very tiny venue. Like, a medium sized living room. Delicious and top-tier fried chicken, but expect to wait a small line due to the size of the place. They do carryout as well. Recommend their Mac and Cheese and Fried Chicken Skin appetizer.
I have waited a long time to try this place! Havent had a chance to mainly because theyre only open for dinner. We arrived needing a table for 6. 2 of us were there first as the other 4 were on their way. We couldnt get seated until our whole party was there. We stood around for a while until we were told that, so we were wondering why we werent seated yet for quite some time.Service was good - the servers were willing to switch out our drinks if they were too sweet or not to our liking. I ordered the yuzu lemonade which tasted very watered down. It wasnt as yuzu-y as I had imagined; it was basically water with a hint of yuzu and a dash of sugar. Maybe because it was near the end of the night and it was just sitting in a pitcher, melting? Maybe. They have a nice selection of alcohol including shochu and beer.We ordered the fried chicken skin as our appetizer - yummy! Still cant believe the yuzu pepper sauce was $4.25 for 3 tablespoons though.. It was similar to Yuzu It.Our party ordered the set for 5 which included 3 pieces of chicken each and a side for each. We were given bear bottles of ponzu sauce, one spicy and one regular. For the sides, we opted for the potato salad, miso ratatouille, soy glazed yams, curry corn, and Mac n cheese. Unfortunately, there was a common ground for most of the sides and sauces - they were extremely SWEET. The ratatouille, soy glazed yams, and both ponzu sauces were way too sweet for my enjoyment. I really didnt expect that for the ratatouille. Even the skin on the chicken had a hint of sweetness to it. Maybe its just me and my taste. The chicken itself was very juicy and tender. I enjoyed it more with good ol Franks Red Hot.I really wanted to like this place because of all the great reviews. Unfortunately, everything started to taste similar near the end of the meal. 3 stars was for my personal experience; it wasnt what I had expected. People have different taste buds and preferences, so dont knock it til u try it!
Located in a small plaza with free parking . The restaurant itself is tiny, maybe fits 25-30 people . So this place is not good for big groups . They do have a restroom for customers to use, which is great even though the restaurant itself is small.Everything that we tried at this place was great tasting . The wait was so worth it, from the side dishes to the fried chicken and rice . Will be back for sure, wish they opened longer hours though .

Winner winner chicken dinner~~ Tokyo Fried Chicken is a spot you must check out if you love fried chicken and not KFC or Popeyes. This spot has differentiated themselves from like Korean fried chicken and just southern style fried chicken.Service (8/10): the servers are friendly and attentive to you at all times. What Id wish they do more of is communicate with each other because when I ate here with my friend, I had one server who supposedly took our food and drink order and the second server came by maybe 20 seconds later and asked if we were ready to order. By the third server, she said they got our food order but not our drink order. Seriously??Another instance was when one server asked if I wanted more water and I said yes, and the second server came by and asked again 15 seconds later. They ended up forgetting my water until I asked the 3rd server for more. It was a night of repetition, which usually doesnt bother me but didnt like how I was asked the same question 3 times when youre trying to have a conversation with someone all within a span of 1 minute. I understand theyre there to provide service, which was great but that just irked me a bit.Food (9/10): the chicken itself is moist and crispy. The way the fry it up makes the skin break off at first bite. Make sure to cover your chicken with either the non-spicy or the spicy ponzu sauce they provide. I personally prefer the spicy ponzu sauce with the chicken and take a bite with the rice; perfect combination. The sides weve ordered were the creamy curry corn, shishito peppers and the mashed potatoes. All 3 were great additions to the meal and was greatly surprised how the peppers had a miniscule kick to it but not over powering. Overall, whether youre a group of 2 or 3, the dinner set for 3 will fill you up and you may even have extras for the next day.
Ever since my friend SZ started posting pictures of her meals at TFC, Ive been wanting to come here. The food looked so good! So I made my friends Gardenia H and Keri W take me here for my two-month-belated birthday celebration. We came on a Wednesday (theyre closed on Mondays and Tuesdays) around 6PM so we could hopefully beat the crowd. And our plan worked! We were immediately seated at a corner table surrounded by cute chalkboard writing. Apparently this place used to be The Open Door but was replaced by Tokyo Fried Chicken (but same owner/chef). Ive never been to The Open Door but I love TFC! The place is really cute, the staff are nice and friendly, and the food is delicious.I started off with their YUZU LEMONADE, which is a bit tart but completely refreshing. It definitely helped balance out the heavy meal that was coming. And it comes with complimentary refills :)We shared their CRISPY FRIED CHICKEN SKIN appetizer. They brought out their three sauces when they gave us the skin. I wasnt a fan of this appetizer; the flavour was just okay and it seemed like empty carbs to me.For our meal, we got their CHICKEN DINNER SET. This is $12.50/person and all sets are mixed dark meat (drums, wings, thighs) although chicken breast can be substituted for a drum and thigh upon request. I love dark meat so I was completely happy with the set as is! We did DINNER FOR 3, which comes with 9 pieces of chicken, three regular sides, chicken rice, and house pickled ginger cabbage.-- SIDE 1: CURRY CREAMED CORNFrom what I saw on Yelp, this seemed to be a popular side so I got it. It was pretty good. Quite creamy and heavy, as it should be, but I didnt think it was amazing.-- SIDE 2: GLAZED SWEET POTATOWe wanted the sweet and spiced butternut squash but our server said that was gone and instead they were offering glazed sweet potato. I love sweet potato so we went with this and were quite disappointed. Definitely our least favourite of the sides; it was pretty hard and bland. Would not order this one again.-- SIDE 3: MAC AND CHEESEThe mac and cheese is an upgraded side, which means it costs $1.50 extra to add it to a dinner set. The serving size does seem larger than the regular sides, and I love mac and cheese so I was happy with this side. It was creamy, cheesy, and had a pleasant crispy topping too!-- CHICKEN RICEI think the rice is cooked with chicken broth? Not sure, but it was delicious!-- HOUSE PICKLED GINGER CABBAGEOur server referred to this as coleslaw so I think this is the same thing as the coleslaw on the sides option. I really liked this as it provided a refreshing contrast to the heaviness of the meal. I wish we had more... but I guess thats why they offer it as a side. Next time I would definitely get this as a side because I felt like it was a necessary part of the meal.-- CHICKEN!The most important thing here. And OMG the fried chicken was SO GOOD. I said before that I didnt like the chicken skin appetizer, but the crispy fried chicken skin on the actual fried chicken was AMAZING! It was so perfectly cooked and crispy and flavourful! I didnt use the ponzu sauce at all because I felt the chicken was perfect as is. And since the chicken is dark meat it is moist and juicy and the whole thing was just oh-so-good. Im in love with the fried chicken here :)No meal is complete without dessert, right? They dont have a written dessert menu here since they only offer a few things, which our server told us about. They offer popsicles from Quenelle, and we opted for their APPLE PIE BAR. I forgot what the description was but I know it involves Granny Smith apples and graham crackers. Whatever they put in it, it tastes like apple pie and is sweet and delicious!Despite the crispy fried chicken skin appetizer and the sweet potato side both being quite meh, I immensely enjoyed my meal here and would love to come back. As a result, Im bumping this review from 4.5 stars up to a full 5! Get the fried chicken here and the apple pie bar, you wont regret it :D
The fried chicken here is juicy and tastes fresh, but the battering is fairly oily when served and for the price, its firmly in the middle-of-the-pack among fried chicken restaurants--especially when you consider this is a sit-down restaurant. The regulars cant seem to give it up, but I would recommend Popeyes or Churchs over their offerings.

I dont know if this place is always worth the lines. But if youre lucky and you come a little early and you dont they do the lines food is very good. The chicken is always crispy and moist. Okay if the Twist on Soul Food seaweed and macaroni and cheese and oh my God how does this work together but it does the Fried Chicken its a marinated Fried Chicken. Then they deep frying so the meat is fully cooked but I have a tender moist white pink look about it its cooked and its good

Yay finally got to try TFC! (much better than KFC, btw) Came here on a rainy Wednesday night with a group of 8 and we were luckily seated right away! Apparently the rain stops people from going to eat hahaFOOD:- fried chicken - yum! I liked the crispiness and the batter wasnt too thick or salty. Chicken was juicy as well.- fried chicken skins - tastes like chicharrones - crispy, crunchy and salted- potato chips - more like thin slices of potato fried in a tempura-like batter - yum- curry creamed corn - basically corn kernels in curry...- chicken soup - very good! Gingery and perfect on a rainy day- chicken rice - this was meh, its just rice made with chicken broth instead of water and it wasnt as flavorful as I thought it would be.SERVICE:So friendly!! Our food came out quickly even though we ordered everything separately and at many different times.VENUE/PARKING:Place is rather small, so on a busy day, theres probably a wait. Bathrooms are single stall per gender. Parking is free within the plaza BUT Ive been here where there are no spots left! So street parking is also available.

It was solid, perfectly fried.. fried chicken, but not necessarily the best chicken. I dont know what it is but I just didnt love it. Whether it was the hype or not but it wasnt as satisfying as I was expecting. Good atmosphere does feel like home.

My only complaint was that the skin was a bit too crispy.The family pack also came with rice, pickled cabbage, and 2 sides. We got the curry creamed corn and potato salad and both were delicious.We also got a pitcher of the Asahi lychee cocktail. The first sip was good, but there was way too much lychee syrup in it.There were only 5 tables inside when I was there, so you’re probably going to have wait a bit. This place is super popular. We waited for about half an hour and there were a lot of people waiting for their takeout orders too.

We ordered the spicy chicken skin as well. It was a bit pricey for how much they gave us. Didn’t fill up half the bag. The pricing overall for this spot is pretty up there. Parking isn’t difficult but if every shop opened in this plaza, you might not find parking.

Promise time 10-15 minutes. Ready as promised. Signed and left. I suspect the sandwiches are made from chicken thighs. Extra delicious. The spicy sandwich starts slow and builds. Comes with a pickle.

Chicken entree which is wisely served in a bucket for family dining has its own unique taste making this a destination restaurant. Ordered a variety of sides rice, potato salad, fried skins, cabbage and sides of ponzu and Mayo all complimented each other. Only drawback, dining room is very limited to accommodate take out orders so plan ahead.

Get a bucket of the warm crispy goodness because it was juicy but packed with so much flavor! The breading on the fried chicken is lightly spicy, super crunchy, and light at the same time.I loved the spicy sauce but def felt like it needed something acidic to cut the sweetness. The pickled cabbage was our fav side.

Especially enjoyed the fried chicken with the spicy sauce poured over it and the soy glazed yams.Cant comment on the service or speed since we ordered to go and ate it across the street on the benches before doing an escape room.

2022-05-27 18:17:21The good, the chicken and sides. The bad small location and open days and hours. Great tasting chicken fried to perfection. If this is what we should expect from Japanese style chicken, I’m on board and open more locations. The mix batch of chicken comes with drums and split breast that appear to be like tenders if their tenders are enormous split breast, I’m on that Japanese tender chicken train. Now the sides edamame, not bad, potato salad not the biggest fan of it in general, I like theirs. Now the bad they close at 930 last call 915 they open later in the day, wished it opened earlier for some work food runs. They are not open everyday. If my negatives is they are not open everyday and longer hours, take my negatives as positives. Room for improvement folks. I’ll be back again, I tried it, you should too.

2020-02-29 13:27:05One of the best fried chicken fusion. Chicken crispy outside, juicy inside melt into your mouth. Never expected the fusion with southern style work really well. Most recommended mac and cheese, try to order the whole dish instead of upgrading sides. Bigger portion well presented. Also collard greens braised in dashi broth...... my god so good... you gotta try this place.......

2018-11-10 05:06:52Long Wait, Good Friend Chicken. This place has an Asian take on fried chicken and its amazing. Helps to order your meal when youre waiting in line. when we sat down we only had to wait a few minutes before our food came. Curry Cream Corn and Glad Yams were good sides. The Yuzu lemonade was good too and you get free refills as well. The staff is also really nice! They came by and checked on uh at least a few times.

2018-09-22 05:07:28Fried chicken is very good. We had mac & cheese, soy marinated yams, Sapporo yuzu beer, yuzu Lemonade & 9 pieces fried chicken. The is small about a dozen tables. There is usually a line. Wait is approximately 30-45 mins. If you don’t like to wait come early. Service is fantastic.
