Went for lunch, and it was the perfect time to go. Not too busy, and service was spot on. The food was cooked just to my liking, and my daughter was more than pleased with her sushi choices. This is just a reminder of why its one of my favorite restaurants to dine. Dont forget the side of rice to take home with your leftovers because there are always leftovers.

I’ve been going to this place for years, but I have never left a review. Here it is I recently visited for lunchtime and the specials are very reasonably priced. We got this big boat with chicken fried rice and my daughter got a small boat with beef tempura we also ordered sushi on the side. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is great. Thank you

By far, one of the WORST experiences ever! We drove over an hour to come here for my wifes birthday on 7-9-2023. We had a 5pm dinner reservation. They made us wait to see if anyone else was going to join our table. Ok, not a big deal. No one came, so we were able to move around. The cook (using that term loosely) started off horribly. We asked how are you doing today, and he said, S#!t different day. Took everyone by suprise! I asked how long youve been working here and he said, What time is it? We said it was my wifes birthday and he replied are you sure its your birthday or are you trying to get free stuff? He was very rude and obnoxious! He didnt do anything special while cooking. I looked over to my left at a table with 2 people and the cook was going all out for them like he had a full table. The guy we had was lame. This was the worst tapenaki experience EVER! There were other things like hes said he used to leave the table dirty for the next guy until he was the next guy. So he could leave it dirty overnight. Bad business! He cooked our steaks me and the medium steak to well. The calamari was way over cooked! It was freaking rubbery!I would save your money and go to Table Mountain for a great experience!Called and left a message for the manager same day. They called or some woman called back asked us to give them another chance. Said she would send out a gift card. So I said ok. This is close to a month now and that didnt happen. If I could give this place negative marks I would! Not how you treat the customer!

I loved the atmosphere. I loved the chef and his presentation. The food was really good! The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because it’s my first time visiting a place like this. But overall I highly recommend it. They also make it fun for kids which is always a plus.

If youre planning on coming here, come hungry! Everything Ive tried here has been amazing. If you order the teppanyaki you will get soup and salad. Your main dish will include fried vegetables and you can pick either fried or steamed rice and your choice of meat. I recommend the fried rice (with the spicy sauce and teriyaki sauce mixed in it) and the filet mignon. For an appetizer I highly recommend the hai roll. The fish lovers in my family also loved the smoked salmon and cream cheese roll.

Sister and parents and our family visited this restaurant by far the best tempura around in the valley. Started us off with fried rice that was amazing. They even separated my wife’s food because she was unable to eat certain things. Help was very kind and refilled our drink a bunch. The chicken was great but the steak was so tender and was mouth water great. Then the cook vegetables all cook to perfection.

Food was still as great as ever since the first time coming. Did feel a bit rushed within a few mins asked if we were ready to order. I had been there before but my kids and my bf havent. Nor had they been to other tappenyaki places before. Would have preferred menu with some photos instead of the paper ones served at lunch time. Would def give it another shot but, its a ways drive, may just stick to the other that are still great near my side of town. Chef was fun an interactive, not as pricey as I remember for 4 people lol.

Place needs a clean up...bar stools are torn, needs a scrubbing, and bathrooms dont let me get started. Food ... no flavor...meat tough (until the back cook cooked us some good but flavorless tender meat)...and the show I mean no show...disappointed because my sister came for the first time and there was no show or even conversation with the chef. $35.61 for chicken and steak and extra fried rice for the hubby. Not a very welcoming place. We showed up at 4:06 pm no hello, how are you guys. All that came out of the girls mouth is how many and do you have a reservation. There was maybe two tables taken the rest were empty. But that’s not my issue, my issue is the fact that it was not very welcoming what so ever. So we will just take our money and desire to eat steak somewhere else. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

This place has been here for a while. The food is good but it definitely needs a deep clean. The vents are disgusting, parts of the ceiling need to be replaced and the light fixtures need to be wiped down this is a food business. They need to pay more attention to detail cause it matters. And for crying out loud, accept reservations for lunch! Make people pay a reservation fee that theyll only get back if they arrive on time. Its not good customer service having 30 people waiting near the entrance just to be seatedOne more thing, stop the gratuity. You guys serve full tables for teppanyaki all the time.In fact you prefer to have them full but yet you charge people a gratuity when one family fills it up, why?There is no incentive for a waitress or waiter to give good service if they already know they’re going to get a taken tip at the end.Tips are earned, not taken.

This place is so hot! I used to love this place, but the last two time we went I was miserable. It was at least 90 degrees sitting at the table in front of the grill. We had reservations, we filled our table, and we were still left sitting for 40 minutes before our cook came. When I complained about the heat I was assured that all Tapanyaki restaurants are that hot! No they are not! I have been to quite a few in town and although they do get warm they are not miserable. Although this places food is my favorite, I was was unable to eat because of the heat.

My friends and I came here last night to hang out since we’re all from different places. I thought the food was overly priced especially it being in CA. Their dragon roll was like $17-$19. I sushi was alright. Their filet mignon was about 39.99 and for it to be served without mushrooms or onions and was slabbed on top of a lettuce on a plate was not acceptable. I’d rather do fine dining and would never recommend their filet mignon. Go to Chris Ruth for your meat. The place was outdated as well. The bathrooms especially needs a new look. I won’t rate the food because the service and attention killed it. A friend recommended this place and we ordered Edamame as an appetizer, it took 25 minutes for it to come out, the teppan cool was already prepping our food 30 minutes after ordering. Fix your attention to service would be my recommendation. An apology didn’t come until after I brought up the time which the appetizer was ordered.

The flavor was good. A little under-seasoned for our tastes, but good nonetheless. Teppanyaki chicken was good, but overcooked for my personal tastes. To start I will say I was pleasantly surprised by how good the teppanyaki food was. I’d compare it to Japanese Kitchen in terms of flavor. The portions were huge too.HOWEVER, The restaurant itself was pretty dingy, dark, and dirty. Their restrooms were very dirty and outdated. The prices are VERY HIGH too. But with covid prices have gone up everywhere so that was expected to some extent.We were glad though that they were able to get us in for a 4:30 dinner very quickly when all other teppanyaki places were booked.I’d say if you care about how the place looks you might not wanna go here but if you can get over that the food is really good.

The food aesthetics arent as nice as I expected, with a lot of the foods colors getting washed out with sauces and mixes however... everything is brown.I guess my only negative is that getting the vegetables a little more natural/prominent in the many dishes they are already present would be nice. The bad thing about this place is that its always packed and there really isnt much additional seating for long waits other than the few seats and the bar if its not taken. The food was delicious, but it was really dirty in their. We were part of the the first few families dining after their lunch break and I was really surprised at the lack of cleanliness. We stayed because my son really wanted to eat here and we brought him as a Valentine treat, but I don’t think we’ll be back anytime soon. Havent had a chance to have teppanyaki here yet recently because its always a last minute decision to go after work but have been 3-4 times in the last 2 months and its been a good experience. Were always able to walk right in and sit down, no wait or reservation. The staff is friendly and the service is always good. The food is always good, though I didnt get the teriyaki box this time because last time my salmon was a little bit burnt. The tempura veggies have been a little soggy every time weve gone so we didnt get any this time but I got the teriyaki bowl, which was delicious and drinks were constantly refilled. The chicken fried rice is on point and the atmosphere is always nice. Definitely going to keep going here when were looking for last minute Japanese food without planning ahead.

When visiting with my family, the food and service were great, however the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting and moldy. Matters were only made worse, when one of the cooking stations behind us malfunctioned and we witnessed a part of the flames go underneath the station. I was blinded by the reviews. A restuarant must be clean, period! This is the dirtiest restuarant I have ever eaten in. My families shoes all needed to be cleaned as the amount of sticky stuff under them was unbelievable. The floor appears that food has been spilled on it for years and never once cleaned. The path to the restrooms have a dirt lane. The grill had gunk all over the sides. I could go on and on. It is kept very dark because of how filthy this place is. If you decide to eat there, first take a walk around. The food was not bad, but cleanliness was horrible. I will never go back again.

A lot of the appeal of tepan grill is the experience. There is usually a great deal of showmanship, skill and personality that the chef contributes. Unfortunately, that was all missing on our visit. I have been to many different tappenyaki restaurants like Benihanas, Shakura Chiya just to name a few and I have to say by far Tokyo Steakhouse in fresno is by far the worst1. We were told we would be seated by 5:30 and we werent seated until 5:382. The waitress was rude as hell, she was much worried about the Mexican family needs and wants then ours and when it came time to taking our order she had an attitude .3. She brought out 7 soups and eneded up giving the party at our table our extra soup, and then the waitress caught an attitude when we brought it to her attention. She didnt even apologize.4. The cook was slightly better until he didnt even want to ask if we wanted Teriyaki sauce or not.We are still here watching our food get cooked because this was our date night and dont want to leave. But people just because we are black doesnt mean we dont tip well, and maybe that is what they thought . But come on...u get tipped based on your CUSTOMER SERVICE! not just for showing up to work.

The chefs are great, teppanyaki and sushi. The servers not so much. Went in, like I have dozens of times and at the end of my meal, ordered a tempura ice cream. Ive been eating japanese cuisine for 30 years all over the state and this was by far the worst ice cream tempura Ive ever had. It came in a soup bowl with soup spoons... Covered in whip cream (probably to hide the fact that it was previously frozen with freezer burn). There was hardly any ice cream inside, 90 percent batter. The little bit of ice cream that was in there was hard with freezer burn. Because we had to eat past the whip and top layer of batter to see what was inside, she said she couldnt remove the 6 dollar dessert (off a $100 tab)... Ok fine.. never had a restaurant take that stand and she (the manager Im assuming) came across condescending.. I paid the bill... With a $1000 amex gift card given to me as a Christmas gift (that I just used there the other day successfully). The lady now said that they couldnt take the gift card... And once again condescendingly implied that I didnt have another form of payment... So I paid on my other card and left. The sushi and teppanyaki is good, the service and manager are rude and judgmental.. youre willing to lose a regular customer over 6 dollars for a good product that probably wasnt even safe to eat? Ill be going to Kuni Sama from now on, where they care for their customer base.

We decide well just go in, as we arrive around 5:15pm, the hostess says there isnt anything available until 6:30pm. I expressed my concern that we called over and over. First, the cooking station was filthy; there was cooked-on food around the edge of the cook-top, grease in the air vent area and the cooktop had a film that didn’t even go away when the chef wiped it off. Thirdly, I ordered filet and chicken—the filet was tough and over cooked; it also didn’t look like a filet when it was placed on the cook top (looked more like a New York like the other group at our table had ordered). For example on how dirty it is: when I put my purse on the ground next to my chair because our table was jammed packed (normally if there is a empty chair by me at the table I would just put my purse on the empty chair), when we went to leave the whole bottom of my Michael Kors purse was sticky and covered in what looked like teriyaki sauce. So I just thought hmm ok well maybe someone before us spilt something on the ground before we sat down and they didnt have time to clean it up properly. So I didnt think to much more about it until the next time we went there to eat and basically the same thing happened again the next few times. And the rest of the dining areas looked very worn down and disgustingly dirty so we stopped going there as much. Instead of once a week (driving all the way from Hanford to go to Tokyo Steakhouse) to barely going once every couple months. Which is so sad cuz we really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and chefs (especially when X worked there. He truly was amazing and very personable) we would always request X as our chef we were very sad to hear that he left to go back home. X was the BEST EVER!!

These guys turned down a group of special needs kids from CUSD, they made reservations way in advance and gave them a heads up that there were gonna be people with special needs (which you shouldnt need to do). Anyway, the group got there andtold were they would be seated soon, after waiting for awhile and seeing other groups getting seated, they asked how much longer they would have to wait. The workers responded that they were not gonna seat them, and that they should just leave. Completely ridiculous. The kids were looking forward to this trip. This is a really good place to eat the server we had was kind of boring at the time but it was still a very good place to eat just make sure to tell the cook to do all the exciting stuff because apparently we gave out energy that made him think that we were not excited

My favorite and go to teppanyaki place. The spicy sauce is better than any others and they have big pieces of bacon in the fried rice
