One of the best Japanese restaurants in SCV. The sushi is fresh and the food is high-quality and authentic. Servings are generously portioned and worth the price. The staff are extremely courteous and seem genuinely happy to have you there. The restaurant is a bit on the small side, but laid out in a way that affords a good sense of privacy for diners. I also really appreciate that they dont have their music up so loud I cant hear my own conversations. This has become my go-to sushi place.

Very interesting concept for a Japanese restaurant, combining sports bar like facilities. Food was quite good. AmaEbi was fresh and the shell/head was nicely fried for crispy and crushed finish without over or under cooking. Good service with lady owner personally caring for the patrons as needed. One negative: house (lettuce) salad had quite large amount of water at the bottom of the dish, diluting the tasty dressing toward the later part of the salad. Obviously, the 2nd half of the salad was poor. The preparer needs to do a better job of draining the water after rinsing the as-purchased lettuce for cleanliness. While not quite 5 star worthy, I am giving 5 stars assuming the above salad mistake is corrected.

We were welcomed warmly and were quickly seated. A bowl of Edamame was served shortly then after. The server was knowledgeable, friendly, and assisted us with the menu since it was our first time. Theres a good amount of options to choose from. The sashimi that came in the bento was fresh. The rest of the food were plated nicely. All orders were delicious. Serving size was reasonable. Mochi ice cream sandwich was a cool treat. We will definitely be back.

Our first time eating there for lunch today.I thought the lunch combo ( two rolls and miso) would be a small lunch size.The rolls were huge and I couldn’t finish two rolls… normally I can eat at least 3!Hostess was very nice and the manager Tim” was extremely helpful, friendly and funny!We will be going back soon.

Great service. Its a little warm inside as they dont appear to run the air conditioner. There are many fans running however. My husband loved his sushi. Mine was on the sweet side and I didnt care for it.

I am visiting from Chicago and decided to have some sushi & this place offers amazing food. Aside from giving good portions of food they also have great cooks. I especially love how Margarito, Diego & Felipe cooked and would definitely come here again. Excellent food and service!

I was expecting more. My salmon sashimi had bones in it, which has never happened to me before. Salmon handroll was on the smaller side. Tokyo Poke Bowl was decent. The cut rolls seemed too expensive, so I didnt bother trying any. Service was friendly but slow. If youve been to some of the better sushi restaurants in the San Fernando Valley, then you might be disappointed.

We were out visiting family who live in a nearby apt complex and they brought us here for lunch.Recently, I sadly had to have a tooth removed so had stitches and was told NOT to have rice nor anything spicy/hot. Ugh! So, while everyone else had sashimi and rice or rolls, I opted for the easy on my face Tonkotsu Ramen (Chicken and pork) bowl....with no spice. That killed me - I love a spicy ramen but didnt want to fire up my mouth with stitches inside ya know???The service was polite and fast. The ramen was very, very good. One of the best broths Ive tasted. Meat was tender. Honestly, the only complaint I had (and this is nitpicking) was that the egg was over done - hard boiled rather than soft boiled with the yolk slightly runny or even custardy. The others in my party liked their meals as well.We dont get out here much to visit as its 3 hours away, but next time we do, we will definitely be dropping by again. This time I hope I dont have a hole in my face and can eat normally!

Our server was really friendly and helped with my wifes substitutions since she cant have gluten. They provided gluten free soy sauce as well. My TSC Roll was delicious, the edamame was spicy and flavorful, and well definitely be coming back to try more from the menu.

We didnt wait very long for a table, but we did wait a long time for the food to arrive. The waitress even brought us free soup and edamame. The rolls were very small and no one at our table was happy. So many other better options. I hate writing bad reviews but this is the truth and you need to know.

Im so disappointed, I NEVER really do reviews unless its Necessary, after along day of work I decided to come here I could have went anywhere else but I came here, and I ordered a baked salmon roll just to later Realize when Im ready to eat its half cooked and half raw . So now I cant even eat it in my car like I planned to I have to go home too get my moneys worth and cook it longer . Because the restaurant is closed now so I cant even get a refund or a replacement. When it comes to seafood I do not play that cause you can seriously get sick . The reason why I gave it 2 is because the host was great it was the cooks . Not making sure things are correct just throwing it together . I didnt even order that late they close at 9 and I did this an hour before hand . Im sooooo annoyed . Dont order Togo at this place at night cause whos to say this wont happen again .

We are foodies, my wife’s favorite cuisine is sushi, and this is hands down the best sushi we’ve ever had. We sat down at the bar and Evi was our chef. His attention to detail on each dish, his engaging conversation, and the variety of sushi we tried was amazing.

I had the sunset roll and my friends had several items, everything was good! The bar was clean and the chefs were talented and nice. I recommend the feel fried shrimp balls(I dont know the correct name) theyre like shrimp hush puppies.

Great little place. I went here with my three kids and husband and brother in law last weekend. The service was excellent, and the food was great! My daughter got ramen and it was surprisingly good. We also tried their trio sample sake, and that was really good for the price. Definitely will go here again.

Tokyo Sushi is a nice little gem in the area. The atmosphere is fantastic, the chefs and waiting staff are super friendly and helpful, and it just checks all of the boxes of what youd expect from a sushi restaurant.It wont get your budget either and the sushi combos are great.

Excellent sushi and non-sushi dishes. Pricing is competitive with other competitors. The best part of this sushi spot are the kind and attentive staff and the ambiance. The whole restaurant feels a little bit more high end than the average SCV sushi places, for example, there are privacy curtains between tables and more space in-between. Apple pay accepted via the QR code in the receipt.

We ended up leaving this place without being seated. We made a reservation for 4 at 7 pm by calling the reservations number on the website. The man who answered asked the time and number of guests and confirmed the reservation. Upon arriving we waited at the host stand until a man named Tim walked up saying there was a sign-up sheet, whereupon we told him we had a reservation. Tim replied there are no reservations and he couldnt accommodate us! When we showed him the reservations button on his own website and the corresponding phone call record on our cell phone from 3 hours earlier, he refused to look at it and, as he walked away from us, asked the name of the person we talked to. When we said we didnt get a name (who asks for a name when making a restaurant reservation?), Tim insisted we needed to give him a name. The entire time he kept running around saying he was the only one there and talking to us in a scolding tone. We finally left in disgust for the way we were being treated.DO NOT patronize this restaurant unless youre prepared to be mistreated and, if you do choose to dine there, DO NOT trust the reservation number on the website! Finally, DO NOT deal with Tim!

Not a busy place, which is good, we were able to get a table without a line on Friday evening. Tables are set 6ft or more apart, follow the covid-19 recommendations, great job!Liked that they have sake tasting sets, a great way to discover a new sake.Also recommend to try Box Sushi, those are good. Not recommend hand rolls, it was too tough on my taste and hard to bite.

We had a bad experience with the shift manager there last Thursday June 26, 2022.Me and my wife went there for dinner around 7 pm We had to wait over 45 min for our food since they had only one cook and over 25 clients and finally when we received there was a very little wasabi.When we asked for more wasabi very politely the shift manager was very rude and said you guys are very very demanding here we teach customer to be more patience here since this is a slow relax restaurant.Imagine you go to a restaurant pay over $100 for your dinner and the shift manager try to teach you how to behave in their restaurant.

I live in the Promenade apartments so this place is a nice little convenient stroll away. Kind of hidden behind Petes coffee. Since the change from Kyoto Sushi, there has definitely been a spike in traffic. The food is very fresh and they havesome great deals on beer and sushi boxes and rolls.

Went to this center to discover that our old sushi place had closed and been replaced by Tokyo Sushi. Sushi is melt in your mouth sublime. We shared the Alaska Roll, Superman burrito, Albacore Delight, spicy tuna roll, vegetable roll, and a California roll. Every bite was great but the Albacore Delight and the Alaska Roll were amazing. Service was very good. The restaurant is clean, free from unnecessary clutter, properly lit, with music set at a comfortable listening level that you easily talk over without having to yell to be heard. The server was polite, kind, and efficient. Overall, a great experience.

My order is constantly confused. This is too much, the third time the same thing. You order salmon, they put in another fish. It used to be my favorite cafe, but the third time the same mistake. Since the order was online, I will not go to a cafe and ask the chef to finish the order. But this is very unpleasant. All 5 rolls plus other individual pieces were all served with perfection and warm-hot if temporal or baked. The Tokyo Poke Bowl was excellent. Refreshing and satisfying. Plenty of tuna, salmon and scallops. Fresh veggies and seaweed. The bowls are perfect in size. A great value. I hadnt been to Tokyo Sushi for at least 5 years because it was an all you can eat What we tell you you can eat, I just moved back to the Westside of SCV and saw new positive reviews and thought Ill try it again. Glad I did, it was later Thurs night about 7:30, it was quiet, they now have some traditional sushi items, Ankimo, Yellowtail collar, Big Eye Tuna, regular Tuna was bright red, shishito peppers and Flan for dessert... EXCELLENT. Food quality and presentation. All the chefs are very nice as well. There are some sushi places that have the same kind of sushi with different things on top or garnishes, but this place has a GREAT combinations. Were not from the area BUT this spot is better than the local place we visit. Prices were decent, about 9-12 dollars per roll. Ramen was outstanding. We got the plain ramen with chicken broth and sho yu ramen and they were so delicious. The noodles didnt taste like or have the texture of packaged ramen, which we come across often with ramen places. The owner, Im assuming (the Asian chef),was very caring and kind. Our waiter was very tentative. We will definatly be back every time we are in the area.

The food and experience was incredible until it came to desert. Bento box chicken katsu was perfect in every way. Even came with sashimi. Which I must say was incredibly fresh. What killed it was the waiters couldnt be found to order desert. Then the fried cheesecake was a cold premade cheesecake. Still coming back. Ford was incredible. Service was too until the end.
