Tomatillo is an excellent authentic Mexican restaurant that is very similar to Chipotle. All of the ingredients were very fresh, even at closing time. The staff was very friendly and willing to serve us despite closing in about 30 minutes. Especially for an area that doesnt have too many close by restaurant options in Palos Verdes, this is a great find!

Delicious food! We got a burrito bowl and a salad, so good. I highly recommend this family owned and operated restaurant. The food was fresh and so yummy. The girl that helped us was polite, friendly and so helpful. She explained how the murals are of her mother and grandmother and explained how her and her mom made the greenery focal wall together. I love it. Hope to be back soon.

Tried the quesadillas, enchiladas, tortas, street corn and tacos. It was all amazing. Highly recommend the street corn. Beyond the food, service was great. It came under new ownership recently. The family that owns it is incredibly friendly and we had a great time just talking to them. The restaurant is very cute and hip. There is a nice amount of outdoor seating as well. Prices are also very reasonable 10-15 for the entree with rice and beans and toppings, which gives quite a bit of food.

Unfortunately Palos Verdes is limited to quality Mexican food, but if you want amazing food where you wouldnt expect it then I highly recommend this place. It is at the Shell gas station but the food is freshly made with quality everytime. Dont waste your moneybat Chipotle. This is 10X better than them in every way. The meat is seasoned and noy dry, they actually give you meat imstead of all lettuce, and the salsa is freshly made as is everything else. Oh and the price is UNBEATABLE

HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED PLACE if you don’t want to be overcharged and to deal with mad owner. The street AD clearly says “$5 Breakfast burrito”. I came in and asked for the breakfast burrito, when they asked I said without bacon or sausage. The cashier (the owner) charged me $7.48. I asked why I was charged 50% more and he said it is for guacamole sauce... Well, that’s fine, but I should be informed that it goes for extra charge, but nobody did that. They just added everything on top of my burrito. Also I paid his attention that I ordered with NO bacon and NO sausage, but he still charged me for the sauce... He said that bacon or sausage also goes for extra charge. Are you kidding me? When I asked what is included then in the breakfast burrito for $5, he became very mad and very rude. Began to throw things around aggressively, after I asked for the refund. Very bad business.

Food here is always great and the people are extremely friendly. This is one of our regular, go-to spots in PV.While tacos, burritos and bowls keep us coming back, today I smelled cake!Apparently, Rosa makes the tres leches cakes from scratch. I never noticed they had them on the menu, but I tried one and they are ridiculously good. Im not sure I can go there anymore without buying one every time. In fact, we might be making special trips just for the cake - its that good.Go try it all!

Authentic tasting Mexican food with plenty of vegan options. I had enchiladas with Verde sauce. I wasn’t sure which ones to get so I tried one potato chorizo enchilada and two cheese (yes, all vegan). The Verde sauce was delicious as were all of the enchiladas. Refried beans cilantro rice and a crunchy little salad made of lettuce and green onions and delicious guacamole on top. The salsa was excellent and as usual, they were accommodating and friendly. There are not that many mom and pop restaurants around these days. Please give them a try, you won’t regret it.

This was such a great stop to make after a long day of traveling. The staff was incredibly friendly. Their portion sizes are very generous and everything was delicious, especially the homemade tortilla chips. Sometimes Mexican food can be a gamble but this was excellent.

I ordered huevos rancheros and couldnt believe how great they were. Learned that its family owned and operated. The salsa was made fresh that morning, as was everything else. My only regret is not taking a photo for the review. Will definitely return again.Unfortunately for them, its not visible from the main square, or Im sure it would be PACKED.

I never write reviews but I have to for this place. I just moved to pv and this place is my new spot I come here like 3-4 times a week. Every time I walk in the ppl working are super nice and attentive. The food is fantastic and quick way better than chipotle. 10/10 would recommend

Came here thinking it would be good. But sadly mistaken I had a asada burrito the meat had lots of fat was chewy 🤢 No flavor. This place is like Chipotle nasty af!!!! Also had a side of chips guacamole, no flavor no lime or salt. The chips tasted like cold oil. A waste of money.😒 👎👎👎

We were looking for some food to eat as we were really hungry. Luckily we searched for places to eat and Tomatillo Mexican Grill was close by. It is tucked away in a corner of this shopping center so make sure you do not miss it. Our food was very delicious ( carne asada torta & tacos ) and the women working there were super nice and attentive. We had a great tasty dinner. We recommend you to eat here.

At Tomatillo, there was a variety of enticing Mexican food. Also, they were very enjoyable. The overall platform there was clean and provided a satisfactory area to enjoy the delicious meal. Pretty bad food. The salsas were water with color. Tomatoes were white no flavor, guacamole was terrible, i could go on and on. Not only that it was overpriced, I dont know were he pulled what he charged as it was completely different than the sign. Place is dark, no music, super unconfortable.

The worst fajitas I have ever had- frozen beef chips in a lukewarm generic gravy. Had to ask for tortillas since they did not arrive with my food. Tacos were mostly lettuce filler. The veggies may have been fresh, but the food was bad and the service indifferent. Beware of the sodas in the cooler next to the register; they are all warm. Instead, get a soda from the fridges to the right. Prices were relatively high considering the lack of quality.

In fact just today I watched as the owner took fresh vegetables out of his SUV. The lines are sometimes long and everyone I talked to that eats there loves the food. They advertise specials boards outside, when you try to order them they say they are not serving it at that time, but the boards are all over outside. The tables are not busted and there is only one person making food. The line was to long so I ended up going to Subway. This place used to be much better, I am not sure what happen to their service..

Im so sorry that I didnt take any pictures because your eyes would have exploded.Because we were going to go to Subway but I caught this restaurant out of the corner of my eye.Weve never been there before matter of fact I didnt even know which door to go into.They they have a variety things on their menu but I chose a burrito they kind of laughed at me cuz I didnt want a lot of things on my burrito day out all kinds of things to put in your burrito have black beans, beans de ojias and refried beans 3 kinds of rice carne asada, carne barbacoa, carne asada,and everything else you want to put on it all kinds of stuff corn cheese guacamole salsa you name it they have it my husband put everything in anything you can think of on his even lettuce so you name it you can put it on there.so next time we go and you believe it there will be next time because their burritos are only $8.99 can you believe it!!!so next time I will take pictures of my husbands burrito and mine so you will see the difference provecho

I was excited to get home (less than a 2 minute drive) and eat my early dinner. I get home and pick up a taco and it completely falls apart. My rice and beans werent warm and neither was the chicken in my taco. I just left there, paid $10 for something I thought was disgusting.
