Found a nice restaurant named Tommys American/Mexican... Amazing! Full of Flavor. Lintel Soup! Enchilada and a Chili Rinellno with Rice & Beans.Everything is freshly made!! Incredibly friendly service too!!

Its your typical Mexican-American style diner, so you can choose what kind of meal youd prefer. I got the usual corned beef breakfast and was pretty satisfied with my experience. Came with the corned beef, two eggs, hash browns, and your choice of toast. Price is pretty good, still under $10 given currently economic conditions. Staff and other patrons were friendly, so Id recommend you stop by!

Weve been coming to this diner since I could remember! Tere and Lupita are awesome! My daughter knows them as tias! Customer service is awesome, food is good, and its great to be able to go to one place and have a variety of food to choose from! Its our #1 place to go to for Sunday breakfast.

Stay away from the frozen food not fresh, get the food thats cooked daily like rice beans salads vegetables that are not frozen like California blend. Soups are made fresh often sometimes so hot you cant eat it for 10 minutes till it cools down. French fries shrimp and fish sticks are dry over cooked and taste like freezer burn. Salsa corn chips are delicious. This place is ok for breakfast lunch or dinner so long as you get the stuff that they cook fresh daily it has TV to watch. The service is good. A bit over priced and the menu is way to big this place has like 40 dishes to choose from.

Want an all American traditional diner experience? Go to a diner because they are being replaced by modernity of global brands at the cost of a genuine local community environment.It is true; diners are not luxe but who needs luxury when the real gem is good eats in a place that is not pretension but made for people.We were greeted the moment we stepped in and told to take the place we most saw fit…we did just that and sat where we felt comfortable.The menu was on our table promptly and the server was quick to bring us our much needed coffee and kept them coming!Our server Sheren was superb and what was most enlightening was observing how all the servers supported each other with anything that came up; those who work as a team do so because they have a common vision and at Tommy’s Family Restaurant it’s obvious that here we are all attended as family without feeling overly doted.The food was enjoyable every single bite and the vibes of the place just right!

Bro, I hate leaving low star ratings, I aint gone do it, but just I hope they read this. There is 3 things they gotta work on. Having patience on the customer, meaning stop rushing orders and pay attention. 2 their food lacks flavor, chicken is bland and chewy... And 3 their packaging of hot, and I mean fresh out the oil hot fries, should come with a cover so the fries DO NOT MELT THE PLASTIC!! I was really looking forward to them fries, but after seeing this I didnt eat them.....

This restaurant is a great place to eat. However this particular day I had gone for a mid day meal.I wanted a French Dip. They Werent able to make it because they didnt have the beef. Asked for a roast beef sandwich instead. They had no roast beef. Ended up eating a pastrami sandwich. It was ok. Should be able to order what I want Right?

Tommys restuarant is one of the best restaurants in town for comfort food. The staff is amazing, they are attentive and very nice. They go around the whole restaurant making sure everyone is doing well. The food is great for the price. A club sandwich with fries is around $9. Would highly recommend if you want a variety of choices and great food.

This place is so charming. It has a steady family type of vibe. The service is fantastic, the food so delicious. I order 2 eggs over easy, hashbrowns, bacon and 2 slices of sourdough bread, it also came with the most delicious chili verde. Everything was cooked to perfection. From the time my husband and I ordered to the time we were served it took mo time at all. My husband ordered pork chops, and scrambled eggs. The chops were succulent, tender and seasoned to perfection. Please I strongly urge everyone to eat here.

The only good thing about Tommys is the service. Place is outdated, seat cushions are badly sunken in. Food is very bland, reminiscent of hospital food. Then a regular cup of coffee is almost $5?! Definitely not worth the $40 bill we paid for an omelette breakfast, bowl of menudo and 2 coffees.

So me and a friend of mine we get there the service was great from the weatress the bus boy he a little just doing his job I was already ready whith my plate and he just past by and try to hand him my dirty plate and dont even pick it up he was more worry about the tips .I dont think he chould be picking up tips from the tables that the weatress job.also they charge me more than day were suppose to.the tax the in Monterey park is 9.5percent of tax.in Monterey park.that restaurant was charging a 10.00 percent.tax. that is call stilying from a customer.me.i dint like it .

Five stars all the way. An old school diner with great food and excellent service.Ive passed this place dozens of times. How did I miss this small hole in the wall years ago while attending ELAC? And the. Reference to a hole in the wall is said in a positive wayEither way, its a good spot and service is excellent. Ordering was easy and the food gets to you quick! The food was tasty and portions are hearty. I had the typical eggs, hash browns and sausage as well as coffee. Delicious.The servers make their rounds at a good clip and maker sure you have refills.A lot of the customers knew the workers and it appeared that they have been coming here for years. Not having been here before, I was still welcomed and greeted with friendly service. Its a small place that you can sit down, have a good meal and feel right at home. It feels like an old school diner which Im fond of.There much to like about Tommy and I suggest you visit. Its at the southeast corner of Atlantic and Cedar Chavez in Monterey Park.

This place has pretty good Mexican food . If you live in this area its one of only a couple restaurants that have Mexican food. Its a little pricey but everywhere you go now is. They serve a variety of plates from taquitos to chili relleno enchiladas carne asada Caldos and much more. Th ey also have added more televisions so theyll have a variety of sports to watch. I recommend this place highly its also not to crowded at least when Ive gone.

The absolute worst service and it happens often. Today the waitress informed me they could only accept cash and told me go to the bank, get money and return. Clearly, the fact banks charge a fee to withdraw money was inconsequential to her. She was presumptive and arrogant to think she can dispense orders to potential customers. This is also the second time I have been informed their network is inoperative and they can only accept cash. I crossed the street and ate at Carrows instead. At least the service at Carrows is better.Another issue with this hole in the wall are the waitresses who drag their feet to take and bring orders.

But Ive got to say this restaurant has the best customer service in the east L.A., Monterey pk. area.I eat breakfast out almost every day and Ive tried A lot of places. Tommys make me feel right at home. The people there are wonderful and to food is very good. The breakfast plates are the best you can ask for and the prices are very reasonable. This restaurant is in Monterey Park California on Cesar Chavez Avenue right across from the Ralphs market love this restaurant for breakfast and lunch and dinner they got Menudo, lots of hot soups.. Great fresh coffee i love there hit oatmeal with raisins and brown sugar yummy.. Its a family restaurant lots of regulars go there.. Its very clean and great workers there.. Lots of free parking.. This is basically a coffee shop diner with a Mexican twist. It is extremely good and extremely well priced for what you get. The staff is very friendly and the food quality is very good. If you want chili verde or chile relleno or huevos rancheros or just maybe good old meatloaf this is your place. They also have a weekday special which is to die for. Its like an early bird special.

Theres nothing fancy about Tommys restaurant except for a friendly attentive staff and extensive menu consisting of a equal parts American Coffee Shop and well prepared Mexican American favorites. The restaurant also features a large cadre of loyal patrons who frequent the establishment on a regular basis. In addition to standard American breakfast, deli style sandwiches, and standard dinner fare, one can also order a large variety of traditional Mexican fare. I can honestly say that I have never had a better Menudo than that which is served here, except maybe for their excellent version of Cocido, (Traditional Mexican Beef stew). Perhaps best of all, is the fact that both Menudo and Cocido, as well as Tommys excellent Caldo de Pollo (Traditional Chicken soup) and Albonigas (Traditional Meatball soup) are served seven days a week!

Has a B grade by the Health Department. One of the things that I believe contributed to this rating, is that they leave the silverware unwrapped and dont cover it with a napkin, thereby exposing it to germs. I hope they realize this, because it is a turn off.

This local Monterey Park diner has survived the test of time. It is located behind The Hat and adjacent to the Atlantic Square shopping center. It serves traditional American fare like hamburgers, steak, liver and onions, pastrami, and fried chicken to name a few options. In addition, its menu touts Mexican entrees from chile relleno plates, to taquitos, and homemade fideo soup. Although it changed ownership almost a decade ago, it maintained some of its quality with some noticeable changes: namely higher prices and smaller portions. On the weekend, they serve Mexican cow stomach and hominy stew known as menudo. I personally enjoy it as much as their beef stew (cosido) or albondiga soup (Mexican meatball soup). If you have an apetite for an old fashioned diner with modern ammenities, Tommys Restaurant might be for you. In addition, they also have several TVs were you can watch local sports or catch the days news.
