August 2023:Grabbed a bunch of sushi 🍣 before flying out. Tried the spider roll, the futomaki and a combination with spicy tuna and five nigiri.I was surprised by how fresh the soft shell crab 🦀 tasted! Would definitely get this again!The futomaki was made very well. Liked the combination of pickled vegetables and egg.The combination was good too. Salmon and the albacore tuna were my favs.Prices were okay considering this was the airport and I assume they have to pay extra taxes here.Would definitely come back again for more delicious sushi 🍣!
My family was trying to find something to eat during a layover at 10pm on a Saturday night, and were delighted to see that there was a Japanese restaurant open. It was pretty busy so we were looking forward to trying it.I got the nabeyaki udon. The soup was normal and the noodles were cooked as you would expect. What I really liked were the seafood toppings. The scallop was really plump and tender. The shripm tasted a bite under-seasoned but the texture was good. The salmon (which Im not used to having in udon) was really perfectly cooked and very tender/melt-in-your-mouth. The fish cakes and other toppings were good as well. Overall this was a surprisingly good dish for airport food that doesnt break the budget.We also got the tempura udon and tonkotsu ramen. The tempura udon was not as good as the nabeyaki -- the tempura coating is quite thick so its hard to taste whats inside. We ended up taking off a lot of the tempura, especially for the big broccoli piece. The ramen I didnt eat as much of but I heart that it was pretty good with a good soup base and lots of noodles.We also got the sushi combo. I tried the spicy tuna roll and it was actually quite good with a good kick to it. My brother seemed to enjoy the other pieces as well.Overall I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this restaurant given the time and that it was airport food. If I were in SFO again and needed food this would be a solid option. Of course this is not the type of restaurant Id choose to go to out in the wild but for an airport its quite good and hits the spot. My brother gave it an 8.7/10.
Popped in here while transiting before my transpacific flight. I had a delicious sushi set. Also had the beef udon which really surprised me. The chunks of beef in the soup were very tasty!
It would be 5 stars if the cashier lady is more friendly and hospitable towards guests
We eat here every time we take an international flight. Of all the choices at the terminal, this is the best. The food is not the best but the best inside the international terminal.
The customer service sucks, the restaurant already adds a 5% employee surcharge for every purchase and on top of that the employees get updated if they don’t get the tip they expect. Their attitude changes which is quite rude and honestly it took my appetite away.
Good sushi on the go. Freshly prepared and even more importantly it’s affordable. Especially for airport prices. A perfect place for a light meal before a flight. They also serve sake which is really perfect before a 15 hour flight. 🍶
It’s actually the first time that I say sushi in airportI was looking for something to eat and everything was look like too bad for me so I have seen Tomokazu Japanese cuisineAnd I have order sushi and Mrs. soup. Everything is already made to cut on time but still it’s fresh and delicious prices are not too bad and the service. It’s OK you move your plate after you finish.And the place is basically clean I’ll give four stars did this place.
This morning Am4:00 i wake up very early to take air flight ✈️ Guadalajaha to SFC airport, long time travelling makes me feel so tired and hungry .So i ordered beef udon soup 🍲 here, luckily their quality is good 👍😊 -- noodles is made and cooked just perfect -- very closed to Japan and Taiwan standard - in western countries its difficult.The soup is gentle and make my stomach warm and more comfortable. The meat also delicious 🤤😋 -- but quantity is too less 🤣🤣😅😅 -- i could understand and accept that -- because in airport the cost will be higher than outside local restaurants.

Of course airport food is expensive but the curry chicken and steak teriyaki rice bowls where very meaty, tasty and a fair price. Id eat here again, even so outside of the airport with the prices, it was a great value.
Outstanding. Friendly counter order place. Gyoza was one of the best Ive tasted. Juicy on the inside, one side thin dough was crispy, the other side soft. Unagi don was a hit - the sauce is not over sweet and was just the right amount sauce for the generous piece of unagi. Pickled daikon was crispy and nice. Really liked the togarashi for a spicy kick - used it liberally. Overall a fulfilling meal. I walked over from F to eat here 😂.
Nothing surprising. I got the unagi which looked like the only good thing there and also had good reviews. Wasn’t bad. Does the trick.
Really delicious sushi. Had the a couple rolls and some nigiri, and were all surprisingly fresh and tasty. Only thing I wish was different was a little cheaper, but to be fair it is inside the airport, ans everything is the same around. The staff was also really friendly and helpful, if Im ever in the terminal again, I will definitely return!

This place is considered a Japanese fast food 🍱 to go shop located at international terminal G of San Francisco airport.Chicken teriyaki is over cooked, very hard on meat as well as meat skin. Also teriyaki sauce is too sweet. Basically you can tell from the dish which was not made as authentic Japanese style dish. So don’t expect too much from this place.And of course, nothing is cheap eating at the airport for the quality of food and service.Worse yet, two Asia cashiers would start talking to each other after you pick up your meal, making comments in their own language. Very rude and un-respectful.
I arrived just as they were closing the kitchen and they still produced an excellent tonkatsu ramen, so good I actually forgot to add chili (quite unlike me). The sushi bar looked choice as well though I didnt get any. Worth the trip across the whole airport

Wasnt expecting much but the food was actually pretty good! got the spider roll, rainbow roll, and their house ramen. the spider roll was not freshly prepared how im used to but it was still good. pricing was way too expensive.
Unfortunately terrible food: I tried three dishes cause I wanted to give it a chance and I was so hungry. I couldn’t finish none of the three dishes. I tried chicken teriyaki ( chicken was tasteless) sushi ( was not fresh, tasted old fish) and the seafood Odon soup ( one shrimp in it with modest ingredients) I had to through half of it. Not worth your Money! Not fresh not tasty. Avoid.
Great food, fast service. Tried the house ramen, the tonkotsu, the Cho soba, the sake nigiri and miso soup! All so delicious!! Food was nice, hot and fresh! Highly recommend!!
Ordered ramen. I am kinda disappointed. The pork was weird, they definitely don’t serve this kind of pork in Japan. Pricing was ok. Next time I might try different things.
It is great to be able to eat sushi at the airport. And Tomokazu serves good sushi! The food comes quickly, and is excellently prepared. The house ramen is also very good, a bit different than Im used to, but tasty and delicious. They also offer a nice selection of drinks. The place itself also have a calming, Japanese flavour.
Had a quick bite before my long haul flight here and highly recommend the food & the place. Staff is very good, food is prepped quickly and place is quiet too! I had the salmon teriyaki and it was so yummy - they serve it with steamed rice & broccoli. Given the food was on point, got edamame & seaweed for the flight too!
Quite okay for airport food. More worth to order warm food as it comes cooked rather than in a plastic case from the fridge. The noodles in the plastic case were stuck together due to long time in the fridge. Otherwise good flavours.
The sushi dishes are delicious and well presented, with a nice setting overlooking downtown LA and Century City. A walk after the dinner is the best for sunset on LA.👍👍
Ordered House ramen. Though the corns and pork belly was enjoyable, the soup was extremely salty and doused with MSG. It took me a long while to recover from the thirst.
The House Ramen tasted delicious and was very reasonably priced! Tomokazu could easily be at the heart of SFs J-town, go there if you want good food before your flight!

This restaurant exceeded my expectations, especially when it comes to airport food. The staff was very friendly. I ordered the teriyaki steak and it was amazing. It was medium to medium rare, so if you prefer it otherwise make sure to tell them. It was perfect for me though! It was also one of the few things open at 9 in the morning, which surprised me since they arent a breakfast restaurant, which I loved since Im not a breakfast food kind of person. Will definitely go again next time Im in SFO!
The ramen is quite satisfactory, while I agree that it is a bit salty, that doesnt take away from it, and I feel that it was quite good. I feel also that it is fairly priced for airport food, and theres really not much more you can ask for. Its ramen, and its good.
I ordered Nabeyaki Udon. The soup has light taste of kelp & anchovy. Not very savory with dashi taste. However very mild and tasty. I don’t like too soggy Udon. It has 1 thick slice of tuna, 1 scallop, a prawn, 1 fish cake, crab stick, cabbage and poached egg..I may say poached egg is a bit over cooked.
We are satisfied what we ordered. Our dishes are beef udon and home ramen.
Just finished the curry chicken bowl. Someone took the meat off the chicken and served us the carcass. Inedible. Bones. Cartilage. Tendons. And Unidentified organ parts. For $14. The miso soup was good.
We had to walk from terminal F17 to here with a baby, probably 10-15 min walk. Tired and restless body just had the awesome food. Everthing was good, super delicious broth on the House Ranen and Miso soup. I have not had this sort of good meal in awhile. If you do have have a transit in sanfrancisco international airport, Please, give this restaurant a try, you would not be disappointed. We have transit here again in the coming days, will try more food again. *****
I’ve only had their house ramen here before, but it’s really good! I found that adding a lot of Nanami Togarashi seasoning helps improve the flavor. Four stars because the sushi is pretty expensive and other reviews don’t seem to like it. Also, the chairs made a great scraping noise on the ground and are no suitable for persons of more than average sizes.The only one time left it is to go now I don’t want it anymore and then it will just have a broken phone 📲 was my day it just got me to go check 👊 I have wifi I am in a hurry and then we have a couple more videos of the food.
Inside SFO International terminal, after security, there are not that many restaurants and if you happen to crave for some Asian food, this is the only choice. I for one has a firm policy: no raw fish before a flight, just in case, though the sushi rolls and sashimi looked okay. Ordered some Edamame, they were sweet and refreshing; a house ramen, very so so; and a California roll, okay. They also offer rice dishes. Do not have high expectations because you are inside an air terminal. Prices, of course, were a bit high, but acceptable.
With airport food I usually have low expectations and look for getting the most for my money since food is usually overpriced and not very good. Im glad I found this restaurant! I believe I had the gyoza and vegetable noodles and it was better than I had expected and didnt feel like I paid more than what I got. The cashier was nice enough to switch my pork gyoza for a veggie one, I was surprised when she made the suggestion! Most restaurants roll their eyes and say they have nothing to substitute things with. The veggie gyoza was so good! The wait was fast and service was very good! Recommended !
Compared to everything else, this place was actually reasonably price, and relatively decent food.The veggie based curry was flavourful, but the veggie gyoza was amazing! Ramen was also good.This place is very packed, probably because prizes are not outrageous compared to the other venues.
A nice place to eat sushi and ramen, located at the G gates at the SFO. I tried the unagi don and house ramen; both of them were a bit salty, but definitely edible. What I wasn’t that happy about this place is, they serve food in compostable paper bowls - I know it could be a plus for some people, but it wasn’t for me.
The ramen was awful! The broth was weird, but the pork was just disgusting. It came HAIRY and with a few bones, just awful. Maybe the other plates ate ok, based on the reviews, but the house ramen, just run from it.
Very nice Japanese restaurant. There is a small sushi bar. Sushi is fresh. A lot of choice for ramen and noodle and rice too. Very clean restaurant. Friendly and polite staffs.
The two women in pink were extremely rude, when I ordered my food with the woman in the back, I asked “can I get uni?” Her reply was “no uni” in a very rude tone, no eye contact whatsoever, and when the restaurant pager beeped, and I went over to get my remaining food, the woman in the front just grabbed away my device. Later when a non Asian asked to order uni, her reply was way better, she said “oh we don’t have uni today”, I don’t know what’s wrong with her but their customer service was not acceptable !

Five stars when comparing against other airport dining options. They are located in the international Terminal G and still operating late hours through covid.Importantly, the fish is fresh. I had sashimi at 9pm before a 14 hour flight and I was fine.It is pricey in general but not out of the norm of airport restaurant pricing.

Its open. That gives it an extra star. Nothing else in the international terminal is open now. Save for the news stand and Joe juice. Did the job. Fed me. Sushi was ok. Would go back. Temper expectations.

The only noodle menu item with veg word in it didnt come with a veg broth (and no such mention on the menu). They charged extra for the veg broth. Misleading and disappointing.

One of the better choices of restaurants at the airport. They are a bit on the expensive side, however being there multiple times I found sashimi to be fresh. They offer some space to eat inside or taking your food out.
Average overpriced airport food. They make you pick up your own food -- even if youre sitting just a few feet away from where the kitchen drops it off and they know damn well its yours -- and they make you bus your own table. BUT they have the audacity to ask for a tip when youre paying. A tip FOR WHAT?!The house ramen was decent. The broth wasnt very flavorful and the pork belly was tougher than it should have been, but it was a serviceable meal.

I know you expect things to be expensive in the airport but this was over priced even for the quality of the food received. The staff seemed disinterested and not very personable. I could get a much better Japanese food experience elsewhere.
Even for airport prices for the quality of the food it is over priced! We spent over $50 for two meals one portion of gyoza and two drinks. The only saving grace was the staff were friendly. Over priced inedible food. No high chair and very little space. For the money youd expect some quality eats but thats not what we were served. The gyoza were nice but the two main meals were not good at all.
They provide the worst terrible customer service. All they care about is whether you tip them or not. They see you as numbers. They speak their language behind your back mocking how cheap customers are. My wife understands what they say, she translated to me. Avoid at all cost. Try elsewhere because the meal takes 15min to come out. All waitress have 0 customer service experience! 🙄
Its my tradition now to eat at Tomokazu for a comfort chicken curry meal everytime Im at SFO. This place serves a consistent delicious meal!
Delicious, fast and efficient Japanese cuisine in the international terminal at SFO. They have different varieties of sushi, udon and other Japanese favorites. When ever in SFO have to stop by here for some delicious food.

Food is 3.5 stars. Portion and value at SFO : 5 stars. They stay open until 11:30pm when most others have closed already. A nice warm Unagi don for $15 at SFO at 11pm = 5 stars all the way.

Well I guess you can’t expect a whole lot from sushi at an airport.The Salmon Roe looke tired, really tired. When you have it, normally they pop in your mouth when fresn. These where lame and not cheap.

The casher was super rude. Asked her if i can use many of coins but she said NO! It s too many with her face frown. The chefs who handle the sasimi kept talking without their mouth covered. Looks like sasimi lots of spit will be served.
A nice place to sit and chill in the middle of the SFO airport. I was able to relax with my ramen while browsing on my phone. The staff were friendly and the food was good for airport ramen.
The only worthy Japanese place, among many. at SFO, though the atmosphere and service are not so friendly. Sashimi, though I didnt buy it during this visit, it looked fresh and good.

Tomokazu at the G gates at San Francisco International Airport was excellent for our sushi. For quick service it was fresh, tasty and satisfying. We had the California Roll and Alaska Roll just before our 11 hour flight. I noticed pilots waiting for special orders so it had to be good. A perfect preflight meal.

Really excellent nabeyaki udon, and for SF + airport really good value. There was a whole scallop in the soup! Noodles were excellent, broth was tasty. Can’t recommend this place enough and I’m looking forward to the next time I fly international.

As someone who lives to eat, the food looked unappetizing and expensive so i didnt hahahaha and the food in reviews does look pretty bad, as good as airline food tops. Japanese food is all about freshness and quality, i wouldnt have them here as hungry as i was. Also, never trust ramen with corn in it.
It’s the best Japanese food in the airport. Their sushi is fresh and their noodle/rice meals are filling and taste great. I like the gyoza/veggie udon and the tempura udon (you get several pieces of veg and shrimp tempura). They do cold soba which is great during the summer. The curry rice is great in the winter. Restaurant is clean and service is fast. I go here a lot and really like it.
Was great being able to get half decent sushi at the airport (post-security). This is the real deal and not supermarket sushi. Got the nigiri and spicy tuna set for $15 which was fair value for the amount and variety. Spicy tuna rolls were really nice. They provided everything for takeaway even a little bowl so you could dip your sushi into the soy sauce rather than just pour it on top. I felt quite decadent having sushi in-flight and would stop here again next time I fly.
Solid sushi and sashimi at SFO, definitely look forward to this on a layover compared to the other choices and one of the few open right now.
TASTE SENSATION ALERT 📢! My wife and I recently arrived at the San Francisco Airport to catch an international flight ✈️. We were early. While walking around, we came upon the Tomokazu Restaurant. My wife talked me into eating here because I tend not to go out of my way to try something new. With the help of the staff, I ordered the Teriyaki chicken and rice. It was DELICIOUS. The best Teriyaki Chicken I have ever had. Succulent and savory. Pure joy!
Not very good, no much places to chose to eat, a customer ask for chicken sushi,, they mock of him making bad comments about it, if you want to please your customer is very easy to make chicken sushi just he need to grab piece of meat and make it. Is not very difficult
Terrible ramen, it’s basically a light watery chicken broth. The belly extremely chewy taste like it’s been sitting there for long time. The sushi is ok. Never again.
This place is located in San Francisco international airport at International Terminal through gates G. It is highly clean and the menu is clear and little bit expensive for a small portion like this. The staff are friendly and highly trained. Food was good but my problem is that I do not know how to use the sticks. I had sea food noodles and it was good. They have self service after you check ur food with the counter. People enjoy coming here for food as well as to have a break for the traffic at the airport. I can recommend this place to a friends and travellers as well.

This is my usual go to place before going on an international flight. The food is decent, not great, but theyre very efficient. They know were usually pressed for time, so they place the check on our side even before we finish eating. Turnover is pretty quick and the food comes out quickly.Dont expect amazing Japanese food though. It gets the job done but there are much better Japanese restaurant that you can go in the Bay Area. Pretty decent for airport food though.
I enjoyed their gyoza and veg udon, and it looked like the best thing to eat around the terminal.

It was open when all others were closed. Had to get all to go since plane was boarding. Spent $55 + tip on sushi roll, teriyaki chicken bowl, curry chicken bowl, and gyoza. Chicken in both was very fatty and skin was left on. The sushi had dark spots on it so I skipped it to avoid illness potential. Gyoza was ok. Rice was good. Curry was good. Portions were enough to share. I know they were closing in like 30 minutes, but quality shouldn’t drop that much, especially with sushi. Got food, ate it, not sick. Purpose served, nothing more.
Decent airport sushi. I had the California roll and it was pretty good so I can vouch for that. It was fresh, tasty and the crab was real snow crab.Given its an airport, l dont expect a transcendental foodie experience. For context, the other option would have been soggy pasta with fake cheese or mediocre pizza from the supermarket next door, so this did what it said on the tin well enough for me.
Stopped by for a quick vegan avocado sushi. Was fresh and tasty, and to top it all, despite being at the airport, was actually cheaper than said option at Whole Foods... What does that tell you about Whole Foods prices? A good option if you need a quick vegan bite before your flight.

This was always my go-to place when traveling through SFO. For airport food, I found it pretty good for the price and the amount of food you get. However, Im not a big fan of it after the remodel. After being closed for months and months, it finally re-opened and I was able to come here again. Tomokazu looks nicer now (not that that really mattered to me), but theres less seating and the prices seem more expensive too. The food is basically the same, but for what you get now and for the overall experience, I wont hesitate to go somewhere else in the airport instead.
Sushi is quite bad as rice is not fully cooked. I have to choose to go as the place is very crowded. It makes me feel full after eating those all. However, the taste is really below average. But I think as a traveller I deserve just to have such quality of food.

My personal experience was ok, I am an airline employee and asked for an employee discount, and the cashier had to ask another cashier if they could give it to me. In the end they did, so that was good. But what impressed me was this: when a customer who was carrying too many trays of sushi (while his wife and 2 kids sat down without even lifting a finger to help him) dropped one of the trays of sushi onto the floor, one of the employees from the restaurant immediately came from behind the counter, picked up the dropped tray, threw it in the bin, and gave the customer a new tray of the same sushi, no questions asked, no payment required. That is something else, indeed! She didnt have to do it, it wasnt the restaurants fault, but she did it anyway. Kudos to the staff who did that!!
Was on transit in San Francisco and was craving Japanese food. Ordered the Chicken Curry rice and the Unagi Don. Food was served fast and it was alright. It satisfied our cravings at least. Prices were a little on the high side.However, i have to give this place a bad rating based on the staff there. They were very very rude. There were to ladies at the counter who spoke in Cantonese and were very sarcastic to the customers. Extremely bad service.
Pretty good, but definitely expensive for what it is. The service was slow and the food wasnt very impressive. This is an airport restaurant so it is not crazy priced, but paid a decent amount and walked away full. The ramen broth was pretty weak, but the noodles and chaisu were alright. The salmon rice bowl on the otherhand was cooked well and it was a decent amount of food for the price. Sushi was premade, and was alright. My adivce skip the sushi and ramen and go for the rice bowls.
Wasnt expecting much from an airport Japanese joint, but the food here was really boring. The Auckland and Melbourne terminals both have great Asian food joints, so I was a bit disappointed by this.Atmosphere was fine, and the staff were friendly.
Aeroport food prices/taxes exaggerated, therefore the personal should be extraordinary with the service overall.
Terrible experience. all the servers and chef look miserable. no one ever smiled. waited at the front of the line for about 5 or 10 min before we were acknowledged, even though there were 4 or 5 tables open. finally sat down and took forever to order. boyfriends pork dish came out about 10-15 min before my chicken teriyaki. food tasted decent. pricey given the poor service.

Based on my one visit here Id stick to the non-seafood options. The Udon soup was pretty good, but the seafood in it wasnt spectacular. The salmon sushi didnt taste super fresh. Service was a bit sub-par... Except if you remember that you are in an airport.
4 stars are for the uni. I eat here about once a month. Sushi is average at best....but the uni has always been excellent.... As good as it gets. Comes off the kelp beds I think in CA. If you like uni stop here....do a couple orders and skip the restWell came back after a few years the uni was old this time and not good.....They did replace it with something else though
Nice Japanese restaurant hidden inside the San Francisco airport. It is found after security in the international terminal and has all the regular Japanese food such as sushi, ramen, rice bowls, etc.We got the house ramen (~$13.00) and chicken curry (~$13.50) and I thought it was pretty good with a good portion for something found at the airport. The pork pieces in the ramen were fatty, big, and tasty while there were lots of chicken in the curry dish.Its worth going to if you are hungry at the airport!
There is not much food choices in this airport for international flight.I choose to eat here because they serve hot food and rice. Its cheaper than getting a cold sandwich.I had gyudon, Beef bowl.Big portion and it only cost around $10Very fast!Thy know you have a plane to catch.

It was a little pricey but it was in an airport. Really good food. I ordered the house ramen which was really filling and tasted good. If the sushi wasnt as pricey i would have gotten both. Service was fast. I cannot complain.
Delicious, and inexpensive for an airport. Was tempted by seconds, but you know 10 hour plane journey ahead if me. Probably not the best idea over eating, high altitude means more gas!
You would think that a restaurant in an airport would understand speed of service is key with folks rushing between flights and destinations. With no one in front of me and at least a half dozen tables open I waited almost 10 minutes before being seated even after making eye contact with the hostess/server several times. After that it was another 10 minutes before anyone came to take my order (by the way, they will not serve you water here instead forcing you to pay for soda, tea, or some other beverage). The food did come out quickly compared to everything else, but that was it. It took 10 minutes for the hostess to collect my payment and then another 10 minutes for my change. Maybe it should be called 10 minute Japanese ... Everything takes 10 minutes. Food was average, but the service infuriatingly slow.

Quick fast Japanese food here at the airport. Got myself a quick California roll before boarding, and it definitely sorted out the Japanese food craving that was bugging my at the tail end of my trip. Its not the best, but it gets the job done.
The prices arent bad at all for an airport, and the food is tasty. I ordered the nabe yaki seafood udon which was a bit slow to arrive but it was worth the wait. Friendly service, and a decent place to eat while youre on a layover.
The food was better than most the offerings in the airport but for Japanese cuisine it was fine. I really like the look of this location and it was packed late at night with customers who seemed fine with the quality of food. Yhe servers were pleasant but didnt engage that much with the customers. I will cetainly go back.
The quality of sushi is horrendous. Service is even worse. The last thing you want is getting stomachaches on a long haul flight. Dont risk it.
Awful sushi at an awful price. The rolls were inedible and tough with veiny pieces of fish and skin in the rolls. We asked for a different roll and they rudely stared at us, as I held the terrible quality fish in front of them. The second roll they offered us was even worse. Dont waste your money here.

Way too expensive for the food they serve. Never coming back here again. We ordered two of the same sushi and it tasted dry and costed about $13-$14. We asked if we could return one of the unopened ones and they told us to wait and line up again. After lining up, they said that their manager wasn’t here and to wait 15 minutes! They couldn’t even tell us their manager was here when we first asked if we could return unopened food. 😠

Fantastic food at very reasonable prices. The tonkatsu had a beautiful fry with a tangy, possibly oversweet sauce, however using the included lemon is a must to bring this dish to a near perfect balance.Also tried the house ramen. The addition of corn to ramen was off-putting at first but it brought a slight sweetness to an otherwise umami dish with its thich cuts of pork belly.It is hard to get better at an airport!
Most unappetizing sushi I ever had in my life. Their nigiris had very little fish on it. The workers are rude and they never smile.. After eating there, I tried to ask for an empty plastic cup so that I can clean my retainer but I was told that I had to pay a dollar for it. I didn’t want to waste my dollar on a plastic cup so I ended up getting one from the other restaurant that was right next to this one.
This is actually the worst sushi I have ever eaten in my life. It has expensive restaurant prices for grocery store style sushi. (Pre packaged) which was confusing as there was 2 sushi chefs standing, doing nothing except waving customers in. I made the assumption that they would roll the sushi fresh. My California roll and rainbow roll came to $22 and I couldn’t get through the California roll because of how dry and bland it was.
Best value in Terminal G for sure. Lots of food, cooked fresh.
Got the House Ramen, Broth was decent, pork was cooked fine, egg was overcooked and the worst part of the whole bowl were the noodles.
Had the house ramen. Noodles are great, pork bits are amazing... However the broth did not have enough zip or flavor to make it all together satisfying. Probably wont repeat.

IN this terminal there are only a few food options. I chose a sushi bento box from here and I chose wrongly. It was very lackluster and I didnt even bother finishing. My husband got some chicken karage and it was okay. Spend your money on snacks and stock up your bags instead.
Usually the sushi here is so so, perhaps somewhat better than average for airport sushi. But some days theyre surprisingly good, which is not something you normally expect from airport restaurants, let alone airport sushi!
Everything has more salt than salt Lake! I feel guilty expensing this to my employer because itll all come out the rear end in an hour probably! We tried Steak, Salmon Teriyaki Rice Bowl and also Gyoza.Theyre all Delicious..The Chilli Sauce in the Big Bottle on the table has Fantastic Taste too.. Its a must to try for people from Asia if Coming to this Airport. Percaya deh sama saya..

Disgusting. I ordered eight pieces of nigiri and a handroll. Not only did they get my order wrong (the waitress clearly knew nothing about sushi); when the order did arrive, it was inedible. The salmon was orange. They tried to pass off mackrel as yellowtail, and the tuna had no taste at all. I paid for my meal and left 2/3 of it un-eaten. I have never in my life ordered a meal at a restaurant and left it there even though I was hungry, but I guess there is a first time for everything. Yuck.
Food was of a fair quality, the vegetable gyoza and Napa cabbage came is a very distinctly fishy broth which whilst palatable was not enticing to finishing. All in all not bad but not amazing, and more expensive than going next door.
Sushi is overpriced (though it is an airport) and ingredients werent fresh. Avocado was brown and rice was slightly hard. Ramen was ok. Not great but not bad
I want to echo Sarah’s feedback on rude treatment of customers. This is a classy place run by grouchy Chinese staff which is so opposite of Japanese hospitality. Fire the whole staff! Food is just OK. My unagi don was served in a recycleable bowl though. This place probably got bought out by a cheapskate owner.
I had the miso soup, sushi roll and it was very delicious. Best part is mixing soy sauce with wasabi and burning my nostrils
The ramen was ruined by the egg, and the meat was oddly dry.

Small portions & overpriced. The service was fast but not very friendly. Lovely decor and comfortable wooden bench style seats with no back support. Ozeki sake (dry) was really good :)
House ramen doesn’t taste like ramen - old pork, unrecognizable ramen, and canned corn. Seaweed is too sweet. Don’t recommend.
Personally I think their house ramen is quite solid for an airport eatery, way better than the other one at domestic terminal 3 (Sangaku?). Just keep your expectation realistic! 😉

Bad service, and bad food. The cook who makes sushi was unprofessional and kept chitchat with their coworkers. The staffs were extremely rude, not even respect their job! If you imagine that this will be a nice Japanese restaurant, you’re wrong. All of them speak Cantonese. Do not waste your money here.
A bit of a walk if your in domestic terminals, but was worth it for the chicken katsu. Price is normal considering it’s in an airport.
This used to be my favorite place in the SFO airport.They have now renovated it, and while the looks are great, they converted it into the McDonalds of the sushi. I dont think they mind as people will still go, but I am sad to see how they moved into plastic cuttlery and fastfood fashion 😪

Very good organized Japanese restaurant. Probably just the best airport Japanese I’ve ever visited. Everything that you would expect, great design and fast.
It wasn’t crowded at the time I visited, but my order took more than 10 minutes. Their food wasn’t much special or great, but also wasn’t bad. If you are expecting just a simple lunch box, this is the place you are looking for.
I wish I read this review before ordering my rolls. They are impossible to eat (rice tastes too sweet and I have to layer wasabi to give it some uplift) & I paid $28 for two rolls! Avoid if you can....
Very ordinary Ramen, if you can call it that. No flavour in the broth.almost like instant noodles. Noodles undercooked. Saving grace is slow cooked pork pieces. Best to skip this one.
I enjoyed the old (pre 2017) Tomokazu. The sushi was decent, there was plenty of room to sit at the sushi bar, time to look at the menu before ordering, and real crockery.Unfortunately the recent facelift has turned it into canteen style fast food - ordering at the counter from distracted staff, everything on plastic, squeezing past luggage to get to a spot on the bench tables...For what it is, its OK. But its definitely a step backwards, for the establishment and SFO
Got a unagi don, decent food with a large piece of unagi. Got a lot of other options like ramen, sushi and sashimi. Overall average for airport restaurants.Came back again, ordered rainbow roll, average sushi and fish, decent food
I had the spicy tuna roll and yakitori. Both were good, about on par food-wise with similarly priced Bay Area sushi restaurants. Service is no frills, but efficient.
This restaurant is conveniently located, you can usually find a table (or sit at the bar) and service is very good.I expect that all food there is great but I always order ramen when I fly out of the International Terminal.
One of the worst foods I had. I am Japanese and I dont have much expectation for airport Japanese food but Ive never had anything as bad as this one. Bad taste, poorly cooked, unhealthy,, bad service, yet not cheap. I have never written any review about restaurants, but I felt I need to.
Great taste, great service! The sushi is really delicious and I love how the add enoki mushrooms to their yummy miso soup. The employees were fast, friendly and courteous.
The waitress doesn’t know what Tonkatsu is, even though it is exactly Tonkatsu on their menu. Bad attitude. If you don’t know what’s on your menu, don’t help people order food.

2023-07-19 04:53:15I ate here couple of weeks back while traveling to Tokyo from SFO. While the food here is adapted to the California tastes it tasted pretty well. The items looked fresh as I saw the chefs preparing locally at the facility. The decor is very much inspired by the Japanese style. The staff was treating people with patience which sometimes is an issue at the airports.

2023-09-19 01:27:10I got a salmon teriyaki rice bowl and my husband got a gyudon rice bowl and they were delicious! This was the best airport food I have ever had! We also got two smart waters and a can of Jasmine green tea and our total was about $50; which is par for the course at an airport. Thanks for the yummy food!

2023-11-14 06:17:41The taste of the tonkatsu was really good. The potatoes and carrots were very soft. But the meat itself was very hard and not tender. So hard that i snapped my plastic spoon when trying to cut it.I think if they fixed their tonkatsu meat and made it more tender this would be amazing.I say a solid 7/10 for me.Service was 4/5 because my food was a little dry and they charged me an extra $3 for extra curry when they could have just given me enough to begin with.
