I was pleasantly surprised at how fresh and delicious the dishes were! For sushi I look at texture/flavor of rice and freshness of the fish - this place did not disappoint. Even tho I came just right before closing, the staff were so friendly and helpful (all with a smile!) I think Ive found my new favorite sushi spot in the east bay!

A delightful sushi restaurant. Their sashimi and sushi rolls were excellent, fresh and delicious. Yhe servive was friendly and prompt without being pushy. Sit outside under the veranda if you can. Its expensive, but worth it.

Easily the best Sushi Restaurant we’ve been to since we’ve moved here from Chicago in January! The whole staff is great, amazing Sake + wine and tasty food! My girlfriend and and I will DEFINITELY be back.

Excellent quality. Good consistency and good flavors. The Osho roll with mango and lobster was tasty. Poke salad with the taro chips was refreshing in a hot summer day. Spider-Man roll tastes solid and not over fried. Worth coming back to try other rolls on the menu.

One of the more authentic Japanese restaurants in the East Bay. The fish is fresh, and they serve fresh daikon. The appetizers have subtle flavors instead of just being doused in soy sauce. Great service with outdoor seating.

Ordered the bento lunch of miso salmon, California roll and tempura. The miso soup was very tasty. The miso salmon was a bit salty and the California roll lacked something. The tempura was good. My biggest issue was having to pay for pre-made tea that was really weak.And when I asked the service what fish was provided with the sashimi she told me “raw fish”. I had to ask further “what raw fish is served?”

A must try!! Came here for a family gathering and I was totally amazed. Friendly & attentive staff, welcoming environment and most importantly- amazing food! Very fresh fish, good-portion bento, crispy flavorful tempura, and the best chawanmushi I ever had so far! Will definitely keep coming back.

Delicious sushi spot in Walnut Creek. The sushi came in nice presentation. There’s indoor and outdoor seating. They are high tech. We had to use our phone and scan a QR code to look at the menu.

The Sushi here is off the charts good. No soy required - Wife had rib eye teriyaki. Wow! Best teriyaki Ive ever had. Really excellent Food service and atmosphere.

Absolutely love this place and highly recommend it if youre in search of a higher end sushi/sashimi restaurant thats perfect for casual dinner nights, but are especially perfect for date nights or celebrations!I mainly ordered rolls when I arrived as I was eating with several friends and we wanted a hefty amount of food but a wide variety too. We chose the: Osho, Spider-man, Mount Fuji, and Ring of Fire. Can we talk about how pretty these rolls are?! In terms of aesthetics, I was really impressed with how all of the rolls looked (especially the Osho) and how they were presented on the plate since Im also a visual eater. The Mount Fuji roll was sooo cute because the scallops were meticulously placed in a way where it looked as though the roll was exploding! While the Osho is the most uniquely arranged roll and was the most decorated plate. The banana leaf, mango sauce, and the Osho pieces being stacked in the middle of the dish in a tower made it look so delicious that we didnt want to ruin the plate when we ate it!In terms of taste, the Osho roll was without a doubt my favorite roll too! In order of my favorites its the Osho, Spider-man, Ring of Fire, and then the Mount Fuji. The Osho actually had real minced lobster so its actually worth the price you pay for the roll in my opinion. While the mango sauce added a sweet yet fresh taste to the roll. The scallops on the Mount Fuji was also flavored incredibly well. All of the fish by appearance and by taste tasted incredibly fresh and when I asked the server they said they get fish flown out basically weekly!

Sushi came and was on the edge of being bad. Servers were more interested in standing around and talking about their lives than wiping tables and clearing up. The bathroom was horribly dirty. Dirty. Tourist atmosphere. Will not return.

I come here fairly regularly for the lunch sashimi special. The fish quality is the best Ive experienced in the east bay, and is consistently good each time I go. The service is quick and the serving staff is always attentive - Ive never had the feeling of wheres the server? at Toyosu. I recommend the chutoro, its slightly less fatty than the otoro and still melts in your mouth. The miso soup is delicious, rich in umami.

Toyosu is a little sushi gem in Walnut Creek, really glad we tried it for lunch. We had the opportunity to dine in and felt very safe doing so. The sushis are fresh and tasty, so is the yuzu cheesecake! The sushis we tried were $18-$20, which was a little more expensive than what I was expecting. The staff is welcoming, accommodating and responsive, a real treat. All in all, I highly recommend Toyosu and look forward to my next meal there!

I had low expectations for this place. This side of the tunnel doesnt usually have places that offer things that excite me. However, this place has great nigiri selection and wagyu. Not a huge place and right now, doesnt accommodate parties larger than 4. I hope the residents nearby appreciate this place because I overheard other tables wasting their time ordering non-nigiri options. Photo shared is a tasty dessert. Described as a donut but more like a churro texture with passion fruit filling. Anyway, Ill go here again for sure.

1st time to try so I can take me staff here weekly and last. I ordered agadashi tofu and sashimi-i asked for caviar on top of my sashimi and was told NO ITS TOO EXPENSIVE! I was well prepared to pay whatever the cost was to have a dollup of caviar on my sashimi....money is no issue ..appalled. ON top of that the lady with the pink who seated me took my order never said thank you and had a very negative demeanor, no eye contact. Ill be searching for another Sushi place and will.take all my staff elsewhere. Very bummed by customer service today. A smile and a thank go along way...and wow! I would have paid $100 or more for some caviar...i also tipped to be kind to the other lady who helped me pack up my to go order...ugg!!! Ugg! Ugg!

My daughter and I came here for lunch and it was great. The service was good, the food was better. The salmon sashimi was very fresh and my daughter (who only likes sashimi approved). The miso soup had good flavor and I loved the addition of the small mushrooms. The rolls tasted as good as they look. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Probably the best sushi I have ever had. Perfect spot for a nice date but I went solo when I visited. This is NOT a cheap sushi place where you go to stuff your face with tons of rolls. The food is such good quality that you will want to savor every bite and meditate over the flavors of every fish. I cant wait to go again.

Tasty food and great interior. But service a bit messed up. They bring us the wrong check, so it seemed like they expect us to pay $300 when we had only $100. The downside of it was that we were the last table sitting before the place closed. After we gout our second check we saw the overcharge for wine- while it was $10/glass on the menu, we got charged $15/glass. After we pointed that out we got our check replaced again, finally with right total. When we didnt left any tips the waiter tried to assure us it wasnt their fault. Not sure if Im coming back tbh, as far as Ive been to downtown places, this has the worst service

Wonderful! My parents and I went there for lunch for my mom’s 81st birthday yesterday. It was our first visit, and we loved it! We’re not sushi eaters, so we opted for cooked fare: Dad had the black cod, mom had the teriyaki chicken, and I had the miso salmon. All three were delicious! We’ll definitely be back! This is a fantastic restaurant!

Hate to leave a nasty review😭 but it was my 2nd time coming, sushi was perfectly fine the first time but the second time around almost all the salmon on my nigiri was literally rotten and there was wasabi inside of half of them, which was an unpleasant surprise. ate 2/12 pieces, the rest was inedible (i literally spat it out) pretty high price tag for only 2 pieces of nigiri :(

Toyosu is open with outdoor seating, takeout and delivery. The service was awesome. She was attentive, polite and timely. She refilled our matcha green tea and asked if it was too strong. I felt she went above and beyond with that offer.The food was amazing and well portioned. The Osho roll was unique and the flavors and textures from the ingredients were surprisingly prominent. I especially loved how the fish, mango and avocado worked together. We also ordered the Hokkaido Don and all the components were top notch. The fish melts in your mouth. I also love ikura so I might be biased. Im not a fan of uni but the pieces on the Don were fresh and creamy that I would not have minded more.I highly recommend dining here to experience the full service and freshly prepared food.
