Absolutely love this trader Joes right in La Jolla. Has amazing prices all year round and Im always a fan of their seasonal stuff as well. All of the staff that I have encountered there so far have been extremely helpful and pleasant as well to talk to. I am here on a weekly basis and will be happily be back soon. Thank you so much for all your hard work at this store and for making my shopping trip more enjoyable. Cant wait to see it when all the new renovations are finally completed !!

This Trader Joes is resituating the inside of the store for a better shopping experience for its members. Parking on the outside is also seemingly being redone. We were able to find everything we wanted with no problems; as usual, everyone was very helpful when we asked questions.Having this trader Joes at this location is really great as our daughter is going to UCSD and enjoys being able to frequent trader Joes to shop when needed.Knowing what Trader Joes has available and how much things cost allows her to manage her budget for food as necessary.Super economical, nutritious and delicious.

The last 2 times Ive shopped here, the individual assisting me in checking out has been extremely rude. Both separate workers. Today, I watched as a staff member joyfully helped out a younger woman, taking time to meet all her needs. He even offered to check her out. I stepped in line to be checked out next by the same man and was met with extremely rude behavior. He did not greet me and almost seemed to be sizing me up. He then shamed me for using rib eye for a beef stew which I found to be really odd. Overall, Im not very happy with my experience at this TJs.

As usual TJs was great BUT parking at this location was very challenging due to height restricted parking lot! (Cant remember the exact height but less than 9) I parked out back by PetSmart and walked. Oh well. But this is something you cant tell by looking at Google maps.

Great store, terrible parking and drivers. The two Mexican men who were at the registers were friendly and gave their take on the Taki like chips I got. I love how they bag my stuff for me. I wish they had some of the old timey, sturdy cotton cloth bags that say the city and state.

Usually come here on Wednesday mornings and the staff is wonderful. Came on a Thursday morning today and everything was fine until checkout— I could read her name tag but a woman with the name “Fresca” or something similar was extremely rude and condescending to us. We had put our items in our own shopping bags so they could easily be checked out and re-bagged. She was asking if “there was a reason” why we felt the need to put our items in bags and what we wanted to do about it. It was incredibly strange and extremely off-putting. She was laughing in our faces and being just generally. gross. I’ve shopped at multiple grocery stores and have never experienced behavior like that before. For a company who cares about the way their employees interact with customers, this was incredibly un-inviting. Will definitely stick to Wednesday mornings where we’ve dealt with incredibly nice employees. She should not be employed here with that attitude.

Be careful at the parking! I almost lost my left foot today! A lady had her car parked next to me crossing the lines of her spot. When she started backing up while i was loading my groceries in the back seat her car’s back wheel was just about 2 inches from running over my left foot!! Thanks god i turned around on time to see it and knocked her car to stop her. It blows my mind how bad the parking situation is!!

This is a great store. I went there for the gluten free options. They have English style gluten free muffins as well as gluten free coffee cake. They are both delicious. Trader Joes LJ is a great store!

Trader joes is in my opinion the best place to get your groceries or even stop to get a snack, me as a kid i love the roasted seaweed, the crackers, the guacamole and chips, their strawberries are my favorite, the Oreo like cookies and their baked goods . My mom was always and still is against artificial colorings and flavors so what i love about trader joes is that they have zero products that use artificial flavors nor colors.My sister which is 8 lives finding a hidden monkey called “banana jack” because at the end when you check out they give you a lolly pop i will make sure i post a photo of him. Also the service is great they are all very kind.

Go to place for Organic and Seasonal Fruits and vegitables, curated snacking items and fine selection of different Cheese 🧀. Package Quantity is good for small family, so you can trip every week here.I like their selective collection of stuff instead of having 10 different varieties of some stuff.You will also find many packed Indian curry items which are better than any other place.

I love this store. In 2019 during a difficult time when I lost a family member, one of the employee gave me a basket of 3 succulent as a community thing. She left san diego but the succulent and my appreciation has grown. Recently for the first time when there was a limited # of arugula I called and asked them to hold one for me. I wasnt sure of quality as I like to pick up my stuff but it was the best package, kept cold in the back. So many thanks to all wonderful employees and managers.🙏🌻

I visited this store this morning and like to mention a young girl at register was ignoring me and didn’t even respond to my greeting to her. she was loud and cheat chatting with another person on mother register complementing each other Jewelery and then moving from one subject to another . It’s nice to be friendly with coworker but ignoring costumers right in front of you and handing the purchase receipt as you still talking over costumer’s head is insulting to costumers.I think costumers should be the priority and their presence should be acknowledged and respected. I really love going to Trader Joe’s. I was looking for produce which was extremely expensive at Vons. I was so surprised! It was like $10 for a spaghetti squash and $10 for a butternut squash. I know that Trader Joe’s is known for the frozen food but I feel like they have decent produce as well. It may not be on the level of Whole Foods but it is good enough! I went to get a spaghetti squash and butternut squash from them and they were each $3 and they didn’t charge by weight. This was clearly a much better option. The people that work at Trader Joe’s are friendly. I really like the banana bread that comes in a box to make. I also like the potato latkes in the frozen section. They have an amazing vegan French onion dip. They also have these corn chips that are perfect for dipping. and I couldn’t forget the curly lentil chips. Trader Joe’s has some unique items that you cannot find anywhere else. The prices are reasonable. Overall I would recommend going here. The one drawback to this Trader Joe’s in particular is the parking lot can get a little packed and narrow.

Parking is TERRIBLE, and there’s always accidents, zero care for pedestrian right of way. This is a Super Trader Joes! Just one tip: unless youre walking impaired, do consider parking next to the pet shop around the corner. Your car will be happier for not getting dings. The parking spaces are small and the traffic pretty heavy. Theyd also underground parking, with the entrance close by.

I always go to Trader Joes first, before any other grocery store, both because its cheaper there and because they treat their workers well. They dont have as wide a selection as the nearby Ralphs store, but their prices have remained mostly constant despite the recent crisis-induced spike in inflation. Also, they sell locally-grown apple juice and its some of the best that Ive ever tasted.

Ive come here for many years and have had surprising experiences. One employee was adamant about me trying his favorite Italian restaurant. Another employee and I bonded over Orange County, where he commuted from every day. A cute cashier wanted me to check out at her stall every time (and gave me an annoyed look when I went to another cashier once). Its not a normal grocery store. The managers in the manager box are creepy, shady and strange- just bad vibes...visiting there on May 21st, 2023 Sunday evening between 7:00-7:21 pm (in case you want to look at the cameras to prove my point) 2 of the employees and or managers made sure to catch my gaze and stared me down for no apparent reason...one guy was bald with a red sweatshirt and the other Im going to name black beard (this guy stared at me so creepily)...anyways this Is the worst and creepiest Trader Joes, are you listening corporate? Trader Joes is doing so great with keeping people safe during the pandemic. Ive not seen any other store this diligent. They only allow 40 people inside at one time and sanitize all the carts and baskets at the front door before customers enter. Inside, they make sure that the most popular aisle, the one with the canned goods and soups, does not get congested with too many people. Really appreciate this store!

You know what you are getting when you go to any TJs. Great food and prices. TJs dark chocolate bar are excellent and priced to move. Love the wild arugula and key lime pie(frozen). Parking can be a nightmare.Whoever designed the parking lot of this area must have barely passed their classes or something. The entrance into the parking lot in front of Trader Joes is apparently a 2 way entrance, but it really isnt. (If you are facing Trader Joes, it is the entrance on the far right). My car was hit because of the way it was constructed. The turn is just way too sharp. If you plan to visit, I would suggest avoiding the busy times to be safe ie Sunday mornings, and dinner time. Parking isnt the problem, the problem is getting to the parking lot or driving around the parking lot. Spaces, and the streets are tight, and people dont know how to drive. Even the area where you return your shopping cart is also confusing because it looks like a parking spot. They just need to remodel this whole freaking area. It is an eyesore.Other than parking, it is still a decent Trader Joes. I wish they would bring back their free samples, but well see with this pandemic. It really encouraged me to try new items, dishes or just spend more money on things I probably shouldnt be buying. Lol.During the height of the pandemic you would have to go outside of the store to bag your items, now they will gladly bag your items with your own bag. Their card machine used to make cute jinlges when to remove your card, but it seems like they dont do that anymore. Also, it would be nice if Trader Joes would offer sales time-to-time. They arent cheap, but I guess it doesnt matter because we will always submit to them anyways. Lol

***UPDATED** R E V I E WTHIS IS A FANTASTIC TRADER JOES. I would say that in my experience this is the best trader Joes in San diego. However I go to a lot of them and I have gone to a lot of them and they are all good for different reasons.This location is consistent, and they were the best and greatest leader during covid with masking and ensuring safety. I really respect that and other locations did well but this one was the best run store in town in that regardTrader Joes is amazing and I respect their model. They have a fair markup and high quality. You can go back and ask for a replacement or what have you. They have a basic no nonsense approach.I really appreciate the power Trader Joes gives me to buy portions that work well for one person or many and the more I get to know the products the more I see that theres a real appreciation for healthy quality food as well as many shorter term prepared and frozen foods that may not be as healthy but that will be delicious.The service here is good, trader Joes sells massive amounts of local flowers around the country and I feel like they have a fair markup. They certainly earn that.I really appreciate being able to purchase my groceries from Trader Joes and I get basically everything from Trader joes, generally.Trader Joes offers the important food staples and usually an organic or non-organic version. Lately I have been using the lotions and more of the home products. I have also gathered input and they seem to be well respected products.Some products have bad oils so you really have to distinguish the unhealthy but delicious items from the nutritious and often delicious basic foods.I just feel like they have products that really fit the bill and whenever I find out a new thing that I want they seem to have it its very well thought out.Im going to have to recommend this Trader Joes and of course Trader Joes, in general, is an outstanding chain. Didnt catch his name but one of the cashiers ignored me completely when checking out with my partner. She was carrying the bread and eggs, and I had everything else in the basket. We walked up together, he took the bread and eggs from her, and hesitated to pull the counter out for me to place the basket. Once I did, I stood next to her at the register, and he ONLY rang up the bread and eggs, completely ignoring the basket of goods I just placed on the counter. It felt like he was ignoring me altogether, as he did not once look at me directly, or really even at my partner directly. I feel discriminated against in the sense that he was uncomfortable with seeing two women who are CLEARLY together and couldnt be bothered to ring up our entire bill. Very rude. Will be shopping at the TJs in PB from now on. Good food quality though, thats why there are 2 stars and not 1.

As a veteran shopper at Trader Joes across California, found Sunday morning visit to TJs in La Jolla to be refreshing. This location is quite spacious in terms of aisles, display areas, plus cashier lanes. Also very clean and well lit. Well stocked inventory on all shelves.Challenge for the shoppers is the parking lot, tightly packed lot, different layout because of pathways exiting site of shopping center.

But, time after time after time I keep coming to this location to shop and always finding organic zucchini with mold growing in it, bread that also has mold and is two days away from expiring. Baby tomatoes that are wrinkled and still on the shelves. I have talked to the manager mentioning how it seems to be a consistent thing every time I come shopping here. Never had an issue like this with any Trader Joes. Im now making the choice to go to a Sprouts.

One of the better Trader Joes in San Diego...medium-sized...conveniently located next to Starbucks. Only thing that sucks about this location is the parking - there is never enough during busy times and the layout of the lot is messy. There is additional underground parking, but the entrance is separate of the main entrance, hidden in the SW corner of the lot just south of the main parking lot entrance.

Been going to TJs for over 20 years - its my favorite grocery store. The prices are good, the products are often innovative (for example, we like the peanut butter with chia and flax seeds), and the staff always seem to be happy and upbeat, like they enjoy working there. The only reason for taking off 1 star is because I often cant quite get everything I need there, so I have to go to different stores to fill in the gaps. For example, I can never get radishes (for salad) or cabbage. Its like I can get 99% of my grocery list there, but not 100%. But I love TJs regardless, and will keep going here for as long as I live here.
