Genuinely an amazing place. The service staff is SO friendly (shoutout to Tina who is a delight!) and the food is INCREDIBLE. I had the ravioli and it was scrumptious with a divine white sauce. The calamari app- also perfect. The chef is Italian as is much of the wait staff. Wonderful place! Make a reservation and do not be swayed by the industrial park location. This place is worth a stop!
After a slow start, empty restaurant yet asked if we had a reservation, and not sure we would be seated, we received impeccable service, and even better food! Their gnocchi is the BEST I have EVER tasted! My husband tried them, and praised them, and he has had them in Italy. We will be back, and getting dressed up next time. We want to sit were we can see the chef do his awesomeness.
Talk about a rare gem! The location is basically a hole in the wall among some other industrial buildings (Heretic Brewery is next door which is also worth checking out.) but the food is delicious and the service is fantastic. It’s about as ITALIAN as you can get. The cooks are speaking Italian with some other customers when we were there, which is something you’ll never see at The Olive Garden! Definitely would go there again and would strongly recommend. Very good food and very authentic!
You know how sometimes you read reviews of a place and theyre great and then you get there and you think not so much? Well this ISNT that. This is one of those wonderful occasions where the reviews were great (which got us there) and the experience was even better. Wow. Lets start with the parts that you might find off putting. Curb appeal. No. Its in an industrial/office park setting. Inside ambiance. No. Its pleasant and clean but very ordinary bordering on boring. Now lets talk about what really matters in a restaurant review. The food. Oh, the food. Amazing. Everything is prepared fresh and it shows. Calamari as an appetizer was perfect. Tender with just enough breading. My wife had Zuppa di Pesce that was phenomenal. I had a chicken Marsala dish that was equally amazing. Panna cotta and tiramisu for dessert were both clearly made in house and were both excellent. The food was simply superb. Service? Equally superb. Tina took care of us and she was delightful. Very engaging, clearly a fan of the restaurant as she was well versed about all the dishes. Attentive service without being over bearing. In general on a scale of 1-10 she was an 11. I cant recommend this restaurant highly enough. This was definitely a case of dont be fooled by the (somewhat baffling) location and generic appearance. Looking for absolutely great Italian? Look no further than Trattoria Martone.
Excellent,attentive and professional service. The staff are always making your visit a personal and warm experience. I have almost had everything on the menu and it is totally delicious and satisfying. Make sure to also order off of the wine menu to go with your dinner it is also very exceptional.
We had a fantastic family meal. The customer service was phenomenal and everyone was friendly and professional. I got the rigatoni alla bolognese - which was delicious. It was very meaty and the noodles cooked perfectly. I also had the tiramisu and it was one of the best Ive had. I was told the chef handmakes it on site and its worth it! My daughter had a rib eye and my son and husband had the cuppa di pesce. Everyone enjoyed their meals and their desserts. We will be back again.
This was our first time at Trattoria Martone and we really enjoyed the food. The flavor of the sauces, meat and pasta in the mushroom ravioli and the rigatoni will have us coming back. Oh, lets not forget about tiramisu, it was delicious.
Service was awesome. Sara made us feel like family. The appetizers were fresh hot and delicious. The red giant pizza oven looks like a spaceship 🚀 pizza oven. The lasagna was amazing.
We three dined there for late lunch yesterday (9/4/21) and with the pizza chef not yet in residence, we shared superb appetizers and desserts. Though outsourced, the sourdough bread was great as we pleasantly were provided a second serving. The site is next to Heretic Brewing in a semi-industrial complex; the decor is muted minimalist streamlined with gleaming flooring, gentle musical ambience with no Sinatra muzak.The potatoes croquette were so tasty and unique; the Marinara meatballs delicious; the frito misto was in a very light batter, the calamari quite tender. The eggplant Parmigiana was rich, subtly seasoned, thick with layered cheese; the Caesar salad with anchovies was a large serving as was the wonderful Gorgonzola port-poached-pear salad with amazingly fresh crisp lettuce and spinach leaves -- the salad dressings were flavorful with a light touch, not heavily drenching the greens. The candied pecans and unique sliced pears were fabulous and I cant wait to order that salad again. We shared the beautiful layered tiramisu served on a saucer (not in a glass or cup, thank goodness) and a generous slice of the chocolate torte, both desserts accented with rich fresh whip cream and juicy sliced strawberries. Both such delectable treats we thoroughly enjoyed! The prices are eminently reasonable for gourmet-quality cuisine. Service was absolutely friendly and most attentive. The restrooms are in pristine sanitary condition of the highest standards. The wine list is clearly commendable, though we brought our own Pinot Noir: corkage fee is $20.00. We were happy with the experience as the presentation and exceptional ingredients for each order was quite an unexpected thrill enhancing the Fairfield-Vacaville dining scene. We shall return soon to try more selections and hope for pizza from that unbelievably authentic huge red-tiled oven that is indeed a work of art. The chef and his wife (our smiling most-accommodating server) have obviously invested labors of love with much work and enthusiasm in launching this epicurean enterprise. We tried a new/old place last month & we were not disappointed! 🙌🏼 Some may remember, this place used to be the pizza/cheese shop right across from Heretic. It’s under new ownership now and the staff there were awesome! ☺️We had the Caesar salad, lasagne, gnocchi & meatballs — All delicious by the way, but we couldn’t finish it all! LOL 😂Wine selections were on point, service was amazing & the co-owner Sara was super sweet & such a treat to talk to. **FYI: Her hubby is the head chef/owner and used to work at Chianti Osteria in Suisun. One of the waiters also came from Chianti and you’ll recognize him when you see him. ☺️ Amazing food and vibe, we cant wait to go back!! Definitely check it out if you’re in the area! ☺️
At first glance, you come upon Trattoria Martone among some industrial warehouses, where this restaurant is located. Once inside, it is a nice surprise. Theyve transformed this place into a lively Italian restaurant. Their menu is exceptional. My wife & I shared their caprese salad with homemade buratta and were blown away by how good it was. Their smoked Mozzarella gnocchi was also extremely good. They have a large puzza oven which will be put into action once their pizza chef (yes, they have their own pizza chef) arrives in a couple weeks from Italy. We ate their last night and will definitely be going back.
Glad Fairfield has a delicious, small business Italian restaurant close by! The food & service was wonderful. I ordered the mushroom ravioli which was amazing & the truffle oil was perfect. We will definitely be back.
My Mom and I were traveling through Fairfield and looking for a nice restaurant for lunch. I selected this one based on the menu, five star reviews, and close proximity to our location. The lady who answered confirmed that they had gluten-free pasta and we were sold. We almost turned around on our way there because the GPS took us into an industrial park and we thought it was incorrect. Lesson learned: never judge a restaurant by its location. From our friendly waiter, to the owner who checked in several times to ensure everything was going well, to the chef who came out to show the brand of gluten free pasta that was used, the entire culinary experience was top notch. The chef accommodated all my dietary restrictions and went above and beyond, even making my pasta sauce from scratch to ensure no flour and told us about his gluten free gnocchi coming soon. The tri-color salad and gluten free penne with white truffle cream sauce and arugula were both to die for... Im still thinking about it. The pizza oven is cranking up next month. Well be back.
Suisun and Fairfield lack any decent food but finally great Italian is back after losing Ostri Chianti in old town. Trattoria Martone is next to Heretic Brewing and while the location may be odd the food and service are perfect. With pizza on its way soon it will be our new go to in the neighborhood. Bravo 👏🏽
We were extremely disappointed and displeased with this place for a Saturday night out for a party of 6. First off the calamari appetizer was below average at best. Two of the main dishes came out of the kitchen cold and another was overpowered with truffle sauce since they globbed it all over instead of a drizzle. You would also think we were in Napa with a $30 corkage fee…that’s a bit much. At any rate, after voicing our displeasure with two cold entrees and another that was overpowering they did not even offer taking anything off the tab. RIDICULOUS !
What a great surprise. We came here for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised. Delicious. Their eggplant appetizer was awesome and their lasagna was delicious. We are definitely going back.

I had the salmon farfalle with a red wine recommended by the waiter, and it was absolutely delicious. The pizza is the best Ive had stateside EVER. I highly recommend this restaurant if youre a fan of Italian food or pizza.

Delicious. Me and my family went here, ordered the squid, salmon, gnocchi, salad, and ribs. All delectable. Made from raw ingredients means its entirely authentic.
Went there last nite on recommendation of friends . It was excellent . Located in industrial area, but dont let this stop you . The food was excellent . The portions were very good and the flavor was unbelievable. They have only been open for a few days . This is a hidden gem . Sure beats fast food !

From pasta (gnocchi with smoked mozzarella) to pepperoni pizza strait from the oven to table, and then on-site made dessert (we had the tiramisu) we were not disappointed! Food is clean and fresh. Bathrooms are clean. Staff is super friendly and attentive.

While I love their Italian dishes and pizzas, their non-italian foods are amazing as well. Plenty of good wines to choose from as well and great desserts.

2022-03-03 04:22:58I don’t eat at any Italian places but here, and there’s a good reason for it. Fresh, flavorful food with a quaint and friendly atmosphere with attentive and welcoming staff. I haven’t found a pizza in CA until today that tastes like it does in actual Italy (I lived there for a few years). If you want to impress your friends and family, go here! I recommend booking in advance

2022-05-15 06:32:30Really solid. Good service. Good food. Good wine. Weird location but the restaurant is cozy and decorated nicely. Would recommend the staff coordinates their sections better because different staff members would come back to the table and ask the same question just seconds after one and another. Not a big deal but just something they could be better with. The bread oil and vinegar was AMAZING i could eat it all day. I expect as time goes on for this restaurant to hire more experienced and dedicated servers. Sometimes more isnt better. If you have 3 or 4 superstars, you could make that place a super authentic Italian dinning experience. Knowledge of the menue including pronunciation can go a long way. If youve made it this far into the review please go give it a try.
