Great food. Went out with 6 people. All were very complimentary of the food. The gyro was awesome. Spanikopita was perfect. Desserts were also sooo good. Baklava and Tuxedo Cake...yum!

Popped in for lunch. Everything we ordered was delicious. Calamari could’ve been a bit more crispy. The lamb and beef were very juicy and tender. The chicken wrap was super good per usual. Greek fries were also ordered and were hot and crispy, great job! The sauces they provided were a tasty touch to the food. I recommend ordering a pitcher of water for the table.

The food was good. The sauce especially the green one is spicy. Do ask for it as it elevates the dish. The staff is very polite. We had Greek salad, side of grilled salmon, falafel wrap and metza platter.

Cute little restaurant. Came here last night to celebrate a birthday. I arrived early and managed to get us a table for 5 with no difficulty. Our server was very nice. I let her know that we would be waiting so she brought menus for the whole table. After about 5-10 minutes, people I was waiting for started arriving and she came back to take drink orders. We all got water so she came back with waters. I got a starter for me and my son. The spanikopita was amazing. My son liked it, he hadnt had it before. She came back to check if we were ready to order despite missing a person, I said we may as well order so we did. I got the Caesar salad to split with my son. Two gyros were ordered as well. Eventually she asked if I needed a extra plate for my kid which I said yes to but I guess she forgot as I never got it. We just used the dish from the spanikopita. One of our party finished and wanted a box and the check and the server never came back. It was a good amount of time before she came to check on us again and my friend finally got their box and we ended up all paying then. She let me pay with 2 different cards and let us split checks. Food was good, atmosphere was nice, server was a little absent but very nice. Id definitely come back for more spanikopita.

Our server was fantastic..I forget her name but she had many beautiful tattoos. I would hire her in a hot minute due to her customer service skills.The bloody Marys are AMAZING.We order the appetizer sampler the lamb kamabur and the kefta shishkabob.All of the food was fabulousId give this a 5 star however there was a sewage smell on the right side of the patio...otherwise the lunch experience today was perfect.

Ive only ever gotten the moussaka when I go here and its always been delicious! Its about $16 but very filling. People say the salads are also good. Restaurant is pretty and cozy inside and has a small outdoor patio if you want to bring your dog. Parallel parking available on the streets.

My wife and I were running some errands around Concord. We finished around 2 pm and decided to go play some Bocce in Martinez but first we really needed some lunch.We parked downtown and started to walk around. A lot of the streets were blocked off and some restaurants had utilized some of that space to expand their outdoor seating. One of which was Troy.As soon as we saw Greek food and the outdoor seating we were sold on giving them a try. Were so glad we did.Ill get to the food soon, but first, the server (unfortunately I didnt get his name) was awesome. We talked about the food, the Martinez area and what has been going on, and life in general. He really cares about his customers experience and more importantly his family and the town he lives in. I actually thought he may be part of ownership.Now the food... Wow-! Exceptional-!I had the Kefta Kabob; ground beef and ground lamb seasoned and cooked to perfection. It came with rice, tahini salad, pita, and grilled vegetables. All flavors were on point, the vegetables still had a bite to them and the tahini salad was amazing.My wife had a wrap, I unfortunately forgot to write the name of it down. I had some of that as well and equally amazing. It was really big, full of wonder ingredients and well worth the price, which is actually reasonable.Needless to say, well be back again, hopefully soon than later.I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant. Troy was super busy when we arrived on a Saturday night. It took long enough, to be a bit awkward, before we were greeted & told the only seating with out a wait was the counter. I am a bit of a foodie so sitting at the counter was fine by me. (My bf didnt really like the idea) They need way more seating. Took a solid 8+ min to be greeted by server. When we asked about two bottles of wine she had no opinion as she had not tasted them. She did graciously offer us tastes. We ordered the Meza appatizer & I highly recommend it! Our dinners, moussaka & pastisio, on many levels left something to be desired. We asked our seger how to pronounce either of these dishes and she had no clue. Sitting at the counter I noticed mainly kabobs, gyros & salads go out. Am assuming they have to be good. Love that they offer del cielo beer on tap! Baklava should be more layered in my opinion. Overall would like to go back & see if our first time was just a fluke.

Wow this place is such a treat. I would give ten stars if I could. I love the warm tone modern interior design and the bar set up. It’s so comfortable and you really won’t want to leave lol. Superb service. Everyone is really focusing on making everything right and make everyone comfortable it’s meticulously clean and organized. you can tell the owner has an amazing eye for detail. But still the best part is the food. It’s like the most perfect Greek food without having to travel. It’s not overly salty and all the produce is fresh. They go the long step by even charring the tomatoes and meat to perfection which adds to it’s authentic taste. My favorite is the lamb omg it is so juicy and not over cooked flavored just right. You just have to come here and experience this place yourself. I hope that you like it as much as I do. Yes the prices are kind of high but I doubt you would get such an amazing quality if they weren’t. Treat yourself every now and then life is short.

We really like this place after our first visit. Went on a week day around 2pm, do it was not busy. They helped us as soon as we came through the door and were so nice. Food came lightning fast and was delicious! I must say, the bathrooms was so clean! That says a lot!! But, that frosted bathroom glass door is a bit unnerving. 😃 We sat outside which was heat perfectly. Thanks

Tried this place for the first time this July. Could not have been more satisfied, they have a solid diverse menu and have even made sure to open up extra outdoor seating due to the COVID-19 menace.The food was ready in 15 minutes and its freshness and flavor was off the charts. I enjoyed the beef and lamb wraps. Located on Main Street it can sometimes be difficult to find upfront parking but there is plenty of parking in the surrounding area. Feel free to call in or order online at your discretion.All in all I personally find Troys to be a welcome addition to our lovely Martinez downtown community and businesses. Dont forget to give them a try for a fantastic lunch or super savory dinner!

Popped in as I’ve been on a serious Greek kick and appreciated the clean environment and professional staff. The kind bartender kept my water filled (as a cyclist I super appreciate it…gotta stay hydrated on a long cycle!) and answered all my questions. Loved the chicken souvlaki I got but felt super self conscious taking a photo of it with people right next to me (lol).They had a well stocked bar too w Greek wine.

Spontaneous stop while at the Farmers Market turned into a really nice, special lunch. Food was delicious (pic doesnt do justice, lol) at a very fair price, loved some local craft beer choices being on tap! The service was friendly and fast, patio seating was delightful and added to a very nice overall atmosphere. Highly recommend, we will be back for sure.

Our dining experience was somewhat unpleasant. We waited 40 minutes to get our appetizer, calamari, and I think it was sitting for a bit cause it wasn’t hot. Then we got our entrees about 5 minutes later and our waitress completely forgot 1 of them and had to put the order in late. It was only 3 of us at the table….while we were eating and waiting for the 3rd entree about 15 minutes or so, we told them to cancel the 3rd entree and we asked for the check. The waitress also never refilled our water. Although, the food was delicious and the waitress removed the calamari from our check, but the poor service kinda ruined it.

Pretty mediocre considering the many great reviews. Lousy service, had to go the bar myself for drink refill and flag down a waiter for another table to get the check. Moussaka was C+ at best, eggplant was total mush and the custard filling/cheese topping was very old---seemed like it had been sitting in the fridge for some days. Hopefully better next time.

UPDATE: Went again a month later and if this had been my first experience, I doubt I would have returned. Service was fine. Eating indoors is a miserable experience at Troys. The music is so loud you cant really have a conversation. The temperature was uncomfortably warm. There was no patio seating for 4 when we got there, but there were multiple 2 tops that could have been put together. Im not likely to return soon. The chicken was actually dry for the first time ever. It was my birthday dinner and I regret choosing Troys, and in hindsight wish I could have gone somewhere where I could converse with others and it was more comfortable. Not a positive experience. Also, the fries were late and not very garlicky at all. Very disappointed overall.Old posting: Always great food, my first time eating in and service was great too! I always get the chicken souvlaki, but try different apps and try. Yummy with reasonable prices. The outdoor space is nice.

It saddens me to leave a review with so few stars.HISTORY- I have eaten at all the TROY GREEK locations simply because of the quality, value and service. ALAMEDA was my 1st & favorite - hands down. No frills, efficient, simple, great quality food prepared by super efficient & friendly people.MARTINEZ LOCATION- I love the idea of a legit restaurant for TROY but this location needs help. FOOD - 2 Troy salads, 1 with chicken, 1 with beef and their drink special - Negroni. Salad arrived DRENCHED in dressing covered in a large amount of nicely cook but OVERLY SALTED CHICKEN, beef was perfect. After 2 bites of chicken, I moved all of it to one side and ate the salad. I didn’t send it back cuz I was hungry. The DRINK didn’t arrive until half way thru the meal “because “she’s a little backed up.” (The restaurant wasn’t busy at all - Monday night in downtown Martinez)!AMBIANCE- OK this place is showing its age. The bar has peeling faux wood paper (or something that needs looking after) the walls replete with chipped paint and scrapes and it’s generally feels aged. There’s various pictures scattered in the wall from the “old country” which gives it a kind of cool authentic vibe if it weren’t for the lousy R&B music blaring Boyz ll Men or Ginuwine all the while competing with music from the kitchen. When will restaurants realize the music & lighting play a huge part in the ambiance of the experience for their patrons?SERVICE - our waitperson was friendly, checking in frequently. Although- neglecting to get the cocktails to us (the highest price margin in the restaurant to the customer) was a mistake.SUMMARY- I think I’ll give TROY a break and let them catch up with some of the other places in town. I’m sad cause this was truly a star. I have high hopes for their return to glory.

We really liked that they have outside dining and the Wind made it a little chilly so they turned on the heater for us. The food was absolutely excellent, the lamb platter had skewered lamb that was perfectly medium rare and grilled. The veggies were grilled as well and were not soft so lots of flavor. The only reason the service was slow was it was lunch hour and they were slammed with pickup and take out. We will definitely return! Good food for the price!

I am VERY picky about Mediterranean food since I grew up eating it, and Troy has exceeded my expectations! The gyro meat is the most delicious and flavorful that I’ve ever had. We’ve tried other Greek food places, and we just keep going back to Troy because nothing compares. Everyone that works there is so kind, and always gets our order right. We recommend them to anyone visiting locally and will continue to do so!

I went their last week and got treated poorly let me explain so I ordered what I always order chicken with grilled vegetables the rice and the pita bread I was excited to eat their because I havent been there in over a year I was on my lunch break so I call the order in showed up at the restaurant and the bartender was cleaning glasses without making eye contact with me he asked me how can I help you I told him that I had a phone in order and my name still no eye contact he rung me up and upon giving me my change he informed me that there wasnt enough change in the drawer to give me the correct change he closed the drawer handed me dollar bills minus the change and just looked at me, there was silence so I told him give me a dollar in my mind I was thinking its not my fault that you dont have the correct change why should I get shorted Im the customer without saying anything else he opened up the drawer gave me the dollar then push the bag of food towards me and walked away I thought to myself how rude if I wasnt so hungry and short of time I would demand my money back. In his defense this guy normally gives great service maybe he was having a bad day.🤷‍♂️

Came here for lunch with friend based on the reviews. Delicious food, good service. Sat outside at a patio table. Falafel appetizer was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I had lamb kapama which was incredible. Lamb chunks tender and lean. Rice and sauce rich and tasty. Would have liked a little more veg than what was served. My friend ordered a scrumptious looking (and she said it was) soulvaki wrap. Very satisfied, definitely coming back when Im in the area.

Troy Greek Food in Martinez is excellent! We ordered To Go and were not disappointed. The Mezza platter was a delicious sampler of their appetizer. The feta on it was some of the best we have ever had. The hummus and Melitzano Salata (eggplant, red peppers, capers & feta salad) were perfect. The pita bread was warm, soft and tasty. We also order a Greek salad and the Chicken Souvlaki (skewers of chicken served with rice & a grilled tomato). Everything was spot on and super yummy. This is a Do Over. They also have locations in Alameda and Berkeley. We highly recommend this authentic Greek restaurant!

Let me qualify my review. Gyros should consist of shaved meat, shaved thin and juicy, served in a warm pita with onions, tomatoes and a memorable sauce, not 3 slabs of meat wrapped in a pita with a little lettuce, little tomatoes and some yogurt sauce. I don’t know what happened here, however, I was off put when I opened my gyro. It looked like 3 long slices of SPAM meat. Please try to make this better. I mean, really?

After shopping in downtown Martinez on a Thursday evening we wanted to get some dinner. The ladies at Junk2Gems recommended the Greek restaurant Troy two blocks over. The outdoor seating was busy. We elected to sit inside where it wasnt as busy. There was a birthday gathering in the room off the main dining area but it didnt conflict with the atmosphere of the restaurant. Our waitress was very attentive. We both ordered the Athenian Chicken Salad. Very good. The chicken was very tasty, and along with the apples, walnuts & feta the salad didnt even need the dressing. I will definitely go back again.

Had a wonderful experience today at this restaurant. They dont take reservations but we were able to put our name on a will-call list to come back later. The owner called us and let us know a table would be ready at the time we requested (amazing!)FOOD - delicious warm pita with the hummus appetizer. Our main entrees came out within a reasonable amount of time and were all tasty. Im certainly excited to try other dishes in the future.Our waitress Cheyenne was funny and quick-witted, she was pleasant to talk to and took good care of us.I must say, Downtown Martinez is becoming more and more of a happening spot. Went for a burger and beer with a friend. Had a great beef and lamb burger wrap. Sooo tender. I asked the waiter for a good beer for the burger and his recommendation was perfect. We sat right away at around 12:30 Sunday. Place was about 2/3rds full. The frys were great the service was faster than expected. Home made baklava was nice and light and buttery. I’ll be bringing my wife (she is so picky) and friends here soon.

Hubby and I decided to try this new place downtown because I was craving Greek food. When we arrived, around 7:30 p.m. on a Saturday night, the place was packed. It seems as though they havent quite figured out their seating process yet. But upon being greeted, we were also told that today was opening day.There are about 7 tables inside, some seating 2 people and some seating 4-5 people. The acoustics are bad, making it difficult to hear your conversations. Perhaps they could install some acoustic ceiling tiles to help. There is a large enclosed outdoor patio area in the front of the restaurant, with approximately 6-7 more tables.Good menu with a variety of a la care items, as well as entrees. There are also side dishes and salads, as well as wine and beer selections. There are w-3 dessert choices, as well.Hubby and I both ordered the Gyro Platter. Delicious!!! Some of the best Greek food Ive had. The platter included pita, grilled zucchini & tomato, and a small Greek style salad. A friend of mine are lunch there and thought it was so good, she went back for dinner. We will definitely be back and trying other menu options. Would highly reccomend!

I had to get a ton of medical lab tests done ( regular physical) so I was starving as I had fasted for 11hrs. I still had 1 more test later and looked forward to Troy. I have been several times and this was my first resturant since covid. I ordered calamari. I was so disappointed that it was cold and rubbery. I tried to make the best of it when I took a fork full of a crunchy looking coating (I thought) from my plate. It was a fork full of uncooked garlic and a little breading from calamari! Yikes i spit it out and started choking. A sip of your great ice tea washed the taste for a bit. I asked for my waitress and asked her to take it away. I had only taken 2 bites. She apologized and took it off the bill. Then asked me if I would like a bit of soup to go. She was very sweet and I declined as I had to leave for my appt. I will return because of this as I think the post covid situation demands we all be a little bit kinder, as we all are trying to get back to normal. Their food is good and she was very professional.

Four of us decided to try it. The lady that seated us was nice. The guy who was are server didn’t have much of a personality. Every time our server came over he was more interested in checking out the young lady sitting at the table opposite of us. He messed up our order and didn’t place the food order for one of the people in our group. Like I said, he was to busy checking out a customer. I will say, the calamari was good and the plate of food I had was good. The other three people in our party said the lamb was over cooked and not that good.

This restaurant caused major problems with my bank account. Dont pay with a card!!! I visited this restaurant for the first time 9-29-2018 and food was good, service fair... but a couple days later my wife noticed a charge from :Berkley ca. troy 70+ dollars, she freaked out and called me saying someone is stealing money from us since we were nowhere near Berkeley on Saturday, so I left work early canceled our debit cards and I went to the bank to possibly despute charges. As I spoke with the teller I realized I went to Troys in Martinez ca on Saturday. So after some investigation we found out that somehow when they charge your card in Martinez it shows up :Troy Berkeley ca.???? Very confusing!!! I call the restaurant and the manager said thats impossible and not a big deal. I said: Not these days with rampant identity theft and fraud!!! Anyway Im not saying dont go to eat at Troys in MARTINEZ just pay with cash.
