Good food, a very authentic menu.We ordered hummus and a pizza tooBoth were really good esp hummus.Omg their pita was soft and tasty.The place is huge with a nice ambience.The staff serving us was speaking very low we couldn’t understand him at many times. He even messed up our order. We had asked for hot water with lime, and we never got it.Anyways the food was good so all good.

We showed up before 5:00 p.m. and nearly all tables were empty. We were told that there were no tables available to sit outside because they were all reserved. So we decided to get a takeout order and then no one took our order for several minutes. Despite standing right next to the cash register, no one told us when our order was ready. Super overpriced food. $26 a person for bowls.Update 11/24/23: Really great follow up from the restaurant. The manager David and I connected via email and phone and he seemed genuinely interested in learning how they could improve. He was super nice and brought me back for a complimentary meal. I did dine-in instead of takeout and was impressed by the presentation of the food. Brussel sprouts were a bit salty and salmon a bit overcooked, but overall solid food. I will say there was a similar issue with the host being curt and hesitancy to seat us on the patio despite over half the tables being open. Server was friendly and provided good service!

I recently dined at True Food Kitchen Restaurant, and I must say, their chopped salad was absolutely amazing! It was not only delicious but also generously portioned, making it a perfect meal for two people. The restaurant’s atmosphere was delightful, with a friendly ambiance and modern decorations that added to the overall experience. While the pizza wasn’t exactly my favorite, it was still decent. Food here was good but service was ok. We ordered an appetizer and pizza as soon as we sat down but surprisingly that took the longest to come out. For mains we ordered the fish and burger. Both were good and we ordered the butternut squash pizza which was surprisingly good too. We tried to order another round of drinks when they brought our food but they never made it. Our server came back 20 mins later and asked if we were ready for the tab, we let her know we ordered another round of drinks but she said they were never placed in the system so we said never mind. Overall food is good here but service is ok. Id probably dine again at true food just not this location.

I recently had a birthday party at the restaurant. While the food was good, the service was horrible. The food arrived almost after an hour we placed an order and was almost cold. We had to repeatedly ask for clean plates, to clear the used plates, and missing ordered food or even water jars. While I personally might visit restaurant again just for good food quality, wont keep any birthdays parties or business meals here due to horrible service.In comparison, the service was top notch at their Las Vegas location.

Situated in a prime location, with nice interior and exterior seating, making it a delightful spot for those frequenting the nearby shopping center. Their vegan options are commendable, catering to a wider clientele. Plus, the service is genuinely top-notch.However not happy with the bowls that I ordered. Specifically, the chicken in the chicken bowl seemed undercooked. The vegan bowl was okay expect the over-fried onions that had turned black, compromising the taste.

Bustling place in Stanford shopping Center. Parking was thankfully not an issue.The quality of food is very good and very generously portioned- especially the entrees.Service could be a tad quicker but I loved the experience especially as a ton of salad options and vegetarian and vegan options.

True food is an exceptional restaurant in the Stanford shopping mall. It was highly recommended by an executive that I work with and I was not disappointed. I brought my my business guest on 7/27/23 today and was extremely pleased by the easy parking and street location It was a wonderful meal we were able to get in and out in leas than an hour. Now it was not a flawless lunch because my meal needed to be prepared a second time without garlic. as I am allergic to it the manager made a 2nd filet. He even re-prepared my guest meal so that he would have a crisp meal and fresh from the kitchen. The Manager came back again making sure we were happy with the meal. Normally I would of dinged a star but given the attention to details and care I gave them a 5 star Rating and I will definitely be back as it was a good meal.

Update: July 7, 2023- we tried this place again with a group of 15, I arrived early to make sure everything is set, the table was ready and looked beautiful. The kind receptionists introduced me to our server, and the service was great. Much appreciate the True Food Kitchen Management and staff for their amazing food and service. Will definitely continue coming back here. They have variety of food, vegan, gluten free, and meat lovers. Honestly for a group event, I can honestly say that this is the only option you have. Came here on a Friday afternoon with no wait for a group of 3!Good:- The food here always feels very well made, very healthy and its always good portion sizes- The holiday platter was super cute - it came in a tower and i was a huge fan of the butternut squash soup, the cauliflower, and the butternut squash pizza - also not too expensive! 5/5- The Korean noodle bowl was okay 3/5 it wasnt very authentic which I should have expected, but it was also healthy- Matcha horchata was super sweet and I loved it 5/5Bad:- Pretty expensive overall - $50 per person- Takes some time for food to come outOverall this place is a good option after doing a hard Barrys workout!

Server was extremely friendly and enthusiastic, gave lots of recommendations. Atmosphere is a very cute open air rustic setting, but music was a bit loud. Ordered the Not Your Mama’s Meatloaf, Grilled Grass-Fed Steak, and the OG Burger. Meatloaf was dry, and the sauce was too salty. Carrots that came with it were also burned, probably deliberately, but too much so. Steak was dry and tough.

We were seated immediately outside yesterday for lunch. Our server greeted us cheerfully and took our orders. He came back a bit later tot elk me they were out of the curry and suggested two other options without bringing a menu. I had to ask for a menu and then ordered the poke bowl.It took a while for us to get water and then my latte which was odd.My poke bowl was delicious and my lunch date enjoyed the noodle bowl.They were definitely trying to turn tables because we quickly got our bill and we weren’t really asked if we wanted something else.The food is always good here as is the service.

I have developed an addiction to this restaurant. My addiction that is nearly impossible to quit, is their edamame dumplings. My other favorite dish is the teriyaki bowl (I order it with shrimp). This one of my favorite restaurants at Stanford. The ingredients are fresh and healthy, therefore, guilt free. By the way, please try their ice teas. They are refreshing.

This is a high quality restaurant serving cocktails and health-focused entrees that aren’t all vegetables but rather a conscious seasonal selection of craft bowls, sandwiches, burgers. Appetizers, pizzas, and more.The restaurant is akin to a New American fare except everything is made with ingredients you can trust and the flavors are out of this world. They even have a dedicated bar here serving cocktails, wine and beer. We were really impressed. The portion sizes are perfect too. I left feeling like I ate just the right amount.This restaurant can get busy, so make reservations or plan on waiting a bit. It is located right at the entrance of the Stanford mall. There is plenty of mall parking. Service is very friendly as well. You can order with a waiter or via a QR code.I highly recommended this place if you want something healthy, but are tired of salads. They kept deliver dishes from our tables to us and we kept waiting for the food we ordered (who knew which tables they sent those to).One waiter just smashed the dish onto our table. Friend and I had lunch here as she spoke highly of the location. Must say I wasn’t disappointed. I had the Smoked Gouda burger with sweet potato hash. One of the best burgers I’ve had ever! The patty was seasoned and cooked so well! The sweet potato hash was mildly seasoned but had an awesome flavor. Would recommend and will also be returning to try other menu items.

I really wanted to like this place, maybe my expectations were too high after reading all the rave reviews.Server was really nice but slow and forgot things we asked for. My friend was given wrong wine by accident, but they fixed the situation.Some food items and drinks were not available which was huge bummer as really wanted to try the edamame dumplings! I ended up getting charred cauliflower which was good. And Korean noodles + tofu which was not bad but underwhelming for the cost. $5 for adding protein is excessive. I had to ask for sriracha to add more flavor and kick.Prosecco rose was refreshing and right amount of sweetness and crispness.Will have to come back and see if this was just an off day.

Such a nice restaurant with great ambience, delicious food and hearty service. Our server was suddenly sick so our table was not attended for a while. But the manager made it up by offering us all the appetizers and deserts. We tried all the appetizers and they were fantastic. Food was so fresh and they stimulated our taste buds. This is a California chain with branches across the country. I have eaten at the Atlanta location, but this particular one was much better. Best known for their specialty bowls, especially the ancient grains one (which my friends ordered). I ordered the trout this time, and found it quite good. True Foos is literally a restaurant where i have never had one bad item for. They NEVER disappoint and are the go to place to go to if you need delicious food that is Gluten Free, Dairy Free, vegan, allergy Free, or just free of bad food. Pictured here we have a Korean Bowl with Steak and Chicken (FIRE) a Lasagna Bolagnese, which is absolutely scrumptious. Both of these are on the regular menu. They have a season menu that changes based on availability and season of vegetables/protein. My favorite drink pictured was a Matcha Horchata Latte. So good I had one with my dessert and one to go. Highly recommend!

Fantastic restaurant that offers quite a number of delicious options. We tried the ancient grains bowl and the Korean bowl. The ancient grains bowl was fantastic and had so many flavor profiles. It looked very catchy and every bite was umami.I went to the Palo Alto location on a busy Saturday afternoon for lunch. Though the wait was initially 45 mins, they were able to accommodate me in 20. Its a pretty large restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating area and is quite lively.There are many vegetarian and vegan options as all.The only downside is the cost. The bowls do not come with protein and even a handful of chopped tofu is 5 dollars extra. For this reason alone, this cannot be your regular weekend Haven. It can easily cost you 30 plus per person.

We had two cocktails, the Tee Time was flavorful and nice, while the Blueberry Collins was very disappointing as it felt flat, as if it had no alcohol in it. The edamame dumplings were tasty, though a bit small. The charred cauliflowers were very good. For the entrees, the grass-fed steak was quite good, while we did not like the salad poke bowl. Overall, the meal and drinks were hit-and-miss, while we still paid $70 per person (incl taxes and tips). Overall, our experience was so-so.

I had the Grilled Chicken & Mozzarella Panini, which was delicious! The mozzarella melted in your mouth as you took a bite of juicy chicken. The panini was also partly crunchy and partly soft. One minor gripe is that the pricing was a little high, but we had a great time and really enjoyed the aesthetics of this restaurant.

Ive been to a couple other True Food locations in San Diego and Santa Monica, and gotta say this Palo Alto location is a slight letdown compared to those other ones. Ive had 2 mediocre-borderline-bad service experience which I associated with an important True Foods trait. Sometimes foods are great, other times the proportions and tastes are severely lacking (shrimp taco, chicken panini).

My daughter has a lot of health issues and has severe dietary restrictions. Sergio was our waiter. Such an amazing person! He was so considerate. He checked on all the ingredients to make sure my daughter could eat the food. Checked multiple time with the chef, made some incredible substitutions. Great place to come for groups with different dietary restrictions, many vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and great choices for omnivores as well. Each dishes has wonderful flavor and distinctive ingredients. The sea bass was perfectly grilled showcasing the freshness. The pizza was light but packed with zesty tastes. Located in the Stanford shopping mall, this restaurant specializes in everything fresh, with an Asian twist. I am usually a fan of Impossible/Beyond burgers and rarely like veggie/beans patties in veggie burgers. But this was an exception. The patty was surprisingly too delicious. It was very flavourful and crunchy on the out plus soft inside.We also dared to experiment with pizza here by ordering butternut squash pizza and that also turned out well. I dont like pineapple and any sweet stuff on my pizza and I was sure that this pizza would also turn out not so great. But it did.Edmame Guacamole side dish was also not bad.

Overpriced. Small portions. Waiters arent familiar with the dishes. (While serving food, one didnt know which dish was gluten free). The menu seems too varied for the chefs to have focus perfecting particular dishes.The wait staff are forced to wear corny shirts that try to evoke pastoral vibes. With slogans like true, farmy, and nourish in all caps, the shirts make me think the owners have never left their dystopian mega city and seen an actual farm.Flavors arent inventive. The atmosphere is very loud and busy, but open air so very comfortable. The food is designed around ethical food practices. I personally do not care about that but I still came here anyway because the reviews seemed good. I ate the Korean beef fried rice and that was actually really good. It was on the pricier side, so I honestly would not recommend it compared to going to any Korean restaurant with beef.

If you are looking for a healthy food option with lots of options for vegans and vegetarians, then this restaurant located right inside the Stanford shopping center, near the famous Stanford university may be the place you are looking for. This restaurant has lots of seating capacity with choice of indoor as well as outdoor seating. There is ample parking spots right outside the restaurant in the parking lot of the shopping center. Today we went with a couple of friends and we ordered the charred cauliflower and the edamame guacamole for starters. For drinks we ordered Adaptogenic Honey tulsi tea as well as Sparkling prickly pear. The charred cauliflower was really delicious. The char in the cauliflower was just right enough to compliment the sweet and nutty notes in the cauliflower. The sauce that accompanied it was really tasty as well. The addition of dates and pistachios was a very interesting touch which brought the dish together. The guacamole was really fresh and slightly chunky in texture. The homemade chips served as a perfect vehicle to deliver the taste of the guacamole. The tulsi tea was refreshing and it has a perfect balance from the freshness of the mint with the sweetness of the honey and the tanginess from the lemon. The prickly pear juice was also tasty although we could not get too much of the prickly pear flavor itself. For the mains at ordered the spinach and mushroom pizza, the ancient grains bowl, the chicken Parmesan and the chicken panini. This combined with the veggies and the charred onions and flavored quinoa was something that I really enjoyed and will definitely recommend. The waiting staff were accommodating and polite and the food was brought to us without any delays. Overall it was a very pleasant dining experience.

I am a regular customer and went back today as I really fancied their food, when I turned up on a Tuesday noon with my husband and dog, there was a table for 4 free outside but instead of directly taking it I kindly asked the waiter if I could please have a table. The burrata was delicious, we loved the bread and fresh cheese that came with it, probably our favorite part of the meal.Overall this spot definitely caters to the demographics of the area by serving healthier dishes made with fresh ingredients. My husband and I ordered two main dishes and an appetizer - everything was memorable, delicious and oh so fresh! I rarely enjoy kale as it is food that I eat because I need to not because I want to. It was only a side but devoured first. No bitter after taste at all! The edemame guacamole paired nicely with a thin not-tortilla chips sprinkled of circular salt. My kim chi fried rice made of red rice, asparagus, tofu and small whole peppers created a flavorful combination of crunch and soft textures in every spoonful. I would have given this place 5 stars if not for the could-be-much-better service. We were surprised to see the place inside as huge and packed since outside seating remained empty exuding a slow vibe to passers by. Located in a beautiful outdoor strip mall, I did not expect the restaurant to serve great food. We put our name and number on the waitlist when we checked in and told to expect a text after 20 minutes. We were okay to kill time exploring the stores but after about 25 minutes, we decided to walk back despite the missing text. When we checked in for follow up, it looked like our name was not on the “list” anymore. Fortunately, it looked like the lunch crowd was starting to dissipate, so the hosts said it’s okay and proceeded to sit us. Our server hardly acknowledged us, but to her defense it was still quite busy. She probably had more tables than she can manage. We sat waiting until another employee came and just asked for our order. When we asked for kimchi fried rice, she told us that they’re out of eggs and asked if we want to substitute it with tofu. We agreed on the substitute, and later discovered that we were charged an additional $5 for it! Yikes. All in all, it was still an enjoyable lunch. The open kitchen completed the flow and free-flowing energy of the place. Perhaps, we will try some other dishes on the next Stanford visit.

The set up was a bit confusing after walking in. Waited 10 minutes to get a seat. They were busy. Busy with personal conversations amongst themselves. I have had really good experiences with True food in the past and there are some dishes I love (Penang Curry), but everything I tried during this last visit missed the mark in flavor significantly. Edamame dumplings tasted like mushy baby food wrapped in a slimy flavorless shell, the teriyaki bowl had no discernible trace of teriyaki and the quinoa bowl was nothing to write home about. Was just here recently in the week. It was not my first or second time being here and I always have received great service. That day was quite the exception.It started with being seated at a table with no QR code. Considering servers are going based off that, I thought it would be a hassle. When I asked for it she had no clue what I even asked for. I figured okay, it is busy because it’s the fourth. However, the service continued to like decline.It took forever to get my drink and by that point I don’t even know if its what I asked for but after waiting so long I said whatever.After finished eating, nobody cameup to check on us and I had to ask someone else to bring us the check for the table. It took them a good minute to figure it out. I also had to walk up to someone down to check out. She seemed really confused by it all. Because of course, no one was attending to us. After 5 minutes, yet another person comes to bring us our check because he admitted he didn’t know how to get the tab out or find us. It seems like they are either very short staffed or just lack of direction/communication amongst each other.

I almost never write restaurant reviews, but we met a waiter there who had to be recognized publicly. Matt was his name and he was phenomenal. My four children had never eaten here before and he catered to my children in the group. Matt was very knowledgeable and patient; answering all menu questions, and he even offered up some suggestions. He just had this friendly demeanor about him that made us all happy. By the end of the dinner, we all said I think this is the best service we’ve ever had! The ambiance is very welcoming and charming.
