We went for a couples night out a week ago. Our friends have been here several times, and it’s my husband and my first time. They had an interesting and appetizing menu. We enjoyed our appetizers & entrees. My husband is allergic to milk, and it was great that they had vegan desserts. Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience.

Actually, I like the restaurant a lot, because I love Asian fusion and I do not eat meat. The only thing that I did not like is the price is high for the small portion of food. I wish the restaurant is near a beach. The food has quality.

For the price this was mediocre. The food was good. The butternut squash was quite good. But the pricing is that of fine dining and the ambiance and experience was more of fast food. The fish dish was small. Barely an appetizer though it was an offered and priced as an entree.

True Food is true to its name...organic ingredients without additives and freshly prepared. The food is acquired locally as much as possible. They offer food that is vegan and gluten free which is a tough combo to find.I tried their ramen soup and my wife had their sandwich on gf bread. We also tried their chia pudding dessert which is delicious.They offer kombucha, fresh lemonades and other fruit drinks without the added sweeteners or additives.I’ve now visited the one in Las Vegas inside the Mirage hotel and the one in Old Town Pasadena which are both excellent in good quality and service.This is a great place to try on dates or with family. Enjoy mostly plants!

Came for a graduation celebration. I have specific food preferences and I was able to get in touch with the manager Jill even before they opened for the day. She was amazing. I mean you dont get that kind of service in most places these days. Makes me want to spread the news to eat here and I will definitely be coming again. The service was wonderful and I really appreciate how they took care of me. Thanks so much!

Went around 5pm on a Saturday. Restaurant was not crowded, no line, got a table right away.Getting to the restaurant was tough; parking was really crowded, but no downgrade for that.The 4 grade is due to me being from Texas and wanting more flavor. Tried the bone broth chicken noodle soup (not pictured) and it was full of chicken, just lacked a robust flavor. Tried the Margherita pizza with chicken added; same issue, lacked flavor. Tried the chicken panini; lacked flavor. Tried the vegan burger; had OUTSTANDING flavor and was delicious! Tried the chocolate chip cookies and ice cream; cookies were not overly sweet, but very soft and full of chocolate chips, and the ice cream was delicious! Sweet potato were cooked well, but either needed to be sweetened with honey or more seasoning; lacked flavor.Good atmosphere and very nice staff!

This is what I call responsible food. Clean ingredients, well thought out meals and good service. Not going to say it’s “100% healthy” but it’s about as healthy and clean as you can get at a restaurant. However, you will pay to get this. Just a fact. Organic, clean, well thought food choices cost money due to an inverse economic valuation in this country. So thus, food that feels good costs money and you have to know this going in. We had three dishes, 70 bucks (including tip). I knew this going in so for us it was worth it - we can afford it and value this in our meals. I wish clean dining was more attainable for people that can’t afford it but that’s not for this review. We will be back to eat here - the food has always been good and leaves you feeling healthy.

Excellent venue, best True Foods we’ve been too. Great service. The food was outstanding. We had the Chicken Pesto Pizza, Poke bowl and fish tacos all of which were very good. The green and black iced teas were gourmet and very tasty. White wine was also very good and well chilled. Highly recommend.

Came here for lunch with a small work group. It wasnt very crowded when we arrived and the weather was nice so we sat outside. This was my first time here and the menu had a variety of healthy items suited for everyone. We all shared an edamame guacamole which I found tasty. I ordered a Korean noodle bowl with added steak. This was very flavorful and had quite a kick. Our waiter was very attentive and kept checking on us if we needed anything. Overall was a great experience and would come again.

Whether you are looking to take a break during a hectic shopping spree or you want a meal with far more taste than calories, True Foods is a casual, yet refined option with equally great eats and libations (full bar, creative cocktails, craft beers, and a pretty decent wine selection). My wife and I had lunch / brunch there the last 3 out of 4 weekends. The location brought us in - the food and service brought us back. Well keep asking for the front patio to enjoy the SoCal weather and Andis great service. Shes been so attentive and engaging. (On a side note, dont get discouraged if the reception team isnt overly friendly - Im sure theyll get that part dialed in sooner than later - theres a lot of options around there and theyd hate to lose a chance to create a loyal customer).

I could eat the entire dessert menu (completely gluten and dairy free) - this alone is enough to give this place 5 stars because that’s a miracle. Hubby and I had the strawberry rhubarb crisp and it was ridiculous! So good. I didn’t love the dressing on my seasonal veggies but the veggies themselves were so so fresh and perfect. Service was attentive. This place is a bit overpriced but for a once in awhile treat it’s just perfect.

We did not get an enjoyable experience while there. Our server took at least 10 minutes to greet us. We had to ask for our server actually. We ordered right away..it took another 15 minutes for water and drinks. Our appetizer came, very good..edamame guacamole but not enough chips. Our server asked if we wanted more. We said yes. Our food came out total 30 minutes and we asked for another beer and please to bring more parmesan cheese for the lasagna, we finished it before the cheese came out after my husband had to ask 3 more times and ended up getting up and getting the kitchen to bring it. He also had to go to the bar to buy a beer because the beer did not come..after also asking 3 times. At this point, after asking where the chips were..they finally came out after we finished all our meals. It was Fathers Day..no word on Happy Fathers Day, no apology for the bad service and not a mention about trying a dessert. Everyone of the servers had a very nonchalant attitude, except the front staff who initially greater us. They were great, friendly and welcoming. It took over an hour for this dining experience. We did send money..over 100.00. So we just werent there for a cheap meal.

Food poisoning. My husband and I shared a burger here and we got severe food poisoning for over 24 hrs and we’re still trying to recover. We don’t know how they are preparing things at True Food but quality was certainly off that day even for spending $100 on food.

I just love the ambience here. So perfect for a day brunch/lunch or just to come get a couple drinks and laze. The drinks were so refreshing.I tried the Teriyaki quinoa and devoured it. I did initially order the spaghetti squash but it wasnt my cup of tea so I got the quinoa instead. Great atmosphere and a lot of fanfare, but food is not always true. Billed as a healthy approach to dining, beware that’s not always the case. Some dishes contain surprising amounts of added sugar and sodium. I tried the Lasagna Bolognese and it came with a week’s worth of sodium. Tasted unbearably salty, as if the cap fell off.

I’m against all restaurants that intentionally make people to wait so that it appears there’s always a line outside of their restaurant. True Food is one of those. Tried to get a table at around 2pm on a Sunday. There’s plenty seating both outside and inside, and we were still told that we have to wait for additional 15-20 mins. The excuse is that they’re under staffed. You probably shouldn’t let this happen on a weekend given Sunday is probably the most busy hours for restaurants.

Three dishes ordered. Not worth even with one star. Tastes of all three were either bland or sour only. Steak was too tough. Not even medium rare as I requested. I wonder if it would have been softer if the meet was medium rare. I only finished seabass because I was hungry and I needed to pay anyway. The cooked seabass itself was ok. As a Korean, I have never taste the Kimchi fried rice like that ever in my life. I left almost half of the dishes. Did not take out leftover. No recommendation of this restaurant. I would not visit this restaurant again. Serving was fine.

Is it me? or is it so noisy that I have lost my hearing? The acoustics at all True Food Kitchens is absolutely the worst for conversations...as everyone outshouts the other to be heard. I would liken this experience to road noise,but this of course is optional. The food and service is excellent but if you want to converse sit on the patio.

Came here for a cocktail and was ecstatic over their craft cocktail Ginger Margarita! They add in Sea Buckthorn to give it an orange hue and it is delicious. Mind you, the bartenders were also over the moon about the Sea Buckthorn AND how it tasted so great in the marg. This is by far my favorite restaurant to eat at since I am gluten and dairy free, they are the best place for accommodating my needs with multiple options and my husband still happily eats here without any food sensitivities as there are many gourmet dishes with and without meat and gluten and dairy. My absolute favorites that are always on the menu are the starters, The Charred Cauliflower and the Roasted Brussels and my second favorite is the Sweet Potato Pie which is vegan and gf. We always order it with the vegan vanilla ice cream and I am in heaven, as is my dairy loving husband....its THAT good! The kitchen manager (I wish I had gotten his name) was incredibly helpful today because we were in a hurry and after he dropped our appetizers he took our order! Now thats service!

Very friendly staff. I ordered the food from the brunch menu. It came promptly and the waitress was pleasant. I asked for the sugar content in the food. She went back to the kitchen to ask and she came back with the reply, you can look for the ingredients and corresponding calories, glucose content online. There was no offer to help me look online with me. After that she did not come to my table. I was very disappointed--with a name such as True Food, they need to demonstrate it is true food. I looked later and couldnt find it. This information needs to be published in the menu, especially for those who are on special diets. If she had given me the information, the rating would have been 4-star.

Lasagna is delicious and the Blueberry Limeade really good. $25. Restaurant half full but got seated in 5 minutes at lunchtime. Clean and fun, fine for kids. There is outdoor seating and plenty of parking off Genesee road. In the parking ramp, follow the signs to UCSD Health and medical to second floor, P2. Enter to elevator press L1. Its right around the corner to the left. They have a lot of healthy choices but Im a meat and potato guy, and there are several good choices for me. Lots of healthy options and from across the world and maybe thats why some of them are not as creative as they can be. My thai curry bowl was pretty watered down and the wild rice was just floating around. Honestly wild rice does not have the texture that is ideal for a thai curry. It was mostly all coconut milk with a few shrimps and hardly any veggies. Can up the food game for sure. The squash flat bread was good though - fresh and crisp.

This location is the WORST True Food Kitchen. They consistently burn their food, especially if you are getting take out. And I agree with others that the management here is terrible. The last few times I visited them were so awful that I will never go back to this location. Once, I had fish tacos with a giant seed in them that I hurt my tooth on. They just said that it was from a fruit they use for their cocktails with no explanation of how it got into my fish tacos. They also did not offer to discount the meal. Then I recently decided to give them another chance, and my group ordered their chicken skewers as one of our appetizers which came out completed charred with the outside all black. The exact opposite of the healthy food they advertise and charge high prices for. We kindly asked them to take it back. We waited about 20 minutes or longer for them to bring us a new chicken skewer appetizer but when they finally brought it back, it certainly wasnt new. The only thing they did was cut off the charred part and flipped the chicken over to the less burned side. When the manger came over and we showed him how almost half the chicken was gone, he did nothing to fix the situation. We will not be returning to this restaurant, and you should really save yourself the trouble and expense of going there too, especially if you do not want to consume the carcinogenic food they serve there.

The food was delicious as always.And just an aside for servers and patrons...As one who waited tables for many years, if I see my server is not only kind but also hustles, returns a plate immediately to the kitchen that is not plated correctly, recognize when a meal is missing, and advocate/communicate to the manager, I will always leave 20% no matter the mixup/outcome. Take care of your patrons especially when there are problems and patrons take care of your servers.

Meh. Food tasted fine but expensive and slightly pretentious. Great if youre vegan, keto, GF, health nut, etc. Not so great if you just want good inventive food without the aforementioned constraints.

Im soooooo happy there is now another location in SD!! This is one of my favorite restaurants! The food is incredible. Every time! We came here a few weeks back and had fabulous service at this location. I look forward to warmer weather and trying out the patio

I always love their food. And this covid-19 set up for distancing and making sure there is no contact between servers and guests etcetera. I have not come across a restaurant that is more safe feeling. The ceilings are high the doors are open to have a light Breeze and each table had a separate table as the contact people with the workers

We made reservations on accident at the Fashion Valley location. When we showed up, they still sat us and treated us wonderfully, even though it was our mistake. The food was great, as always but the service is what made this experience stand out!

Big menu with lots of fresh and healthy options. Service can be a bit spotty when busy but just flag down anyone and theyll take care of you. Portions on the smaller side so get some starters. Edamame dumplings and crudites are delish.

Whats next... put the ingredients on the counter and have a sign that points you to the kitchen where you can prepare your food. The only thing that has not change is the suggested tip. 20%? 25%? For what? Walking my food out from the kitchen? Just text me when its ready and I can go pick it up myself and save $10. That would be one change that actually benefits the customer. Next time I will go with uber eats...or better yet just pick the kale out of my garden and whip up a quick vinegrette. Wonder if my family would pay me $40 plus tip for that.... now theres an idea.

My fiance and I have come to this place several times in different cities and Everytime we have great service and great food. I never enjoy eating so healthy anywhere else as much as True Foods. It would be a mistake to never try this place out at any location.
