Small restaurant with limited seating inside and outdoors. A bit pricey but the Bento Box has plenty of food. Salmon had great flavors. Sushi fresh. Salad crispy with tasty ginger dressing.

Not a fan of putting reviews but i felt ripped out here .1. Small sushi yellow tail 32$, over priced for a hole in the wall place .2. Trust me, Whole Foods sushi tastes more authentic and so much better than this place .3. Waitress had no patience to let me browse their menu instead recommended me the small portion of yellow tail sushi, 25$ plus tax and tip so 32$ in total, the sushi rice is the cheapest quality ! Hard and not sticky that separates from the seaweed.4. after i ate, i said “thank you “ to everyone and nobody bothered to respond.5. Very small place that the elbows of customers can rub with each other .So not worth it, go somewhere else with your money worth .

Fresh sushi and really well made! If you’re indecisive get the bento box with a main entree+a number of sides. they also have some Korean food. the beef bulgogi is amazing! we were seated fast and the service was good too.

Went for dinner. Honestly disappointing, even though the place got a pretty good review. Just high price for ordinary sushi.Maybe its because of the location, but it was a shame since its called Tsukiji, an area in Japan famous for sushi.Service was average.I dont think Ill go back.

I would say one of the worst sushi spots I have been to. I was told the salmon I had was the belly. Yet it was not it was chewy and still have the skin of the fish. I was disappointed that the server, host, and owner did not take it off the bill as I didn’t eat it and explained why. The server and host said they would check in about it but never came back. So I then spoke with the manager and he lied saying it was the belly. I have eaten sushi before and know what part of the fish I was eating… overpriced not worth it. Super bummed!

Wonderful artistic Togo sushi box! Unexpected nice touch keep sushi uniform. Perfect for lunch in office or park bench. Rainbow roll highly recommended. I give this place 4.4 stars, will consider rating higher after trying more of the menu. Order ready exactly in 10 min as stated.

This is a well deserved 5-star! The staff attended us very quickly and some of the kindest staff that has ever attended me. Enjoying the meal outside late at night with your girlfriend and both of you just enjoying sushi and wine. The experience was wonderful and the wine options are quite great. Ive been to many sushi places but this one has by far been the one to most impress me. The food was to die for! Everything was perfect. Flavors were perfectly balanced. My taste buds just felt blessed. If you live in Santa Monica or passing by definitely stop by here! You wont regret it!

Came here with a friend after hiking in the Pacific Palisades at around 7pm on a Monday. There were a couple of other patrons but it was mostly empty. The staff didn’t greet us in Japanese although they did for other newcomers but they sat us quickly. The decor of the restaurant is upscale and pretty nice, although from the outside the restaurant is nondescript. There’s some outdoor seating, tables/booths inside, and seats at the sushi bar. We got edamame to share (5.99) and it was hot and sprinkled with salt, but nothing noteworthy. My friend got the bento box ($20.99)it’s pricier after 3pm and you can get 1 or 2 items as the primary entree (differing prices of course). She upgraded the avocado roll (a side item) to be her entree for an additional cost and also had a salad, some edamame, miso soup, and rice on the side. Our server seemed confused by the fact she wanted to upgrade her side entree to the main entree but checked in twice to make sure he got her order correct. I got the Hero roll, which was a baked sushi that was warm and slightly crunchy (13.99). There are non-sushi items for those who don’t like fish such as chicken teriyaki bowls and tempura udon. The specials are written on the chalk board behind the sushi bar. They provide a generous serving of wasabi and ginger, and the soy sauces are on the tables for you to utilize. I like that they use sustainable seafood. Parking on a weekday shouldn’t be too bad as there metered parking on the street and free parking in the neighborhoods behind. Service was alright, and they don’t check in on you but were prompt with getting the check. Overall the restaurant was fine, but if you’re craving some Japanese food in Santa Monica, I think Kazu Nori would make for a tastier experience, or you could go to Kimuya for more reasonable prices.

My first visit here was 6 years ago and it was the first time I ever found a cucumber wrapped sushi roll! It was delicious then and still wonderful now. Very fresh salmon, yellowtail, and tuna too. Very kind servers and gorgeous plates.

Not very many options for vegetarian but the noodles dish I got was delicious, tasty rice noodles with steamed vegetables...the name is something like udo or uba.. cant really remember.. obviously everything with an order of miso soup that its the best and really should be with free-refill as in many other sushi places.. instead here is 2,50 per order.. I like this place and surely Ill go back but its not inexpensive.. :(

This was a good place for sushi, but I would say overpriced. Our dining companion knew their history, and she said the prices had almost doubled from the last time she was there. The food was good - I had the lobster roll - and my two companions liked theirs. The wait staff was efficient. Our table was terribly wobbly, but the waiter just shrugged when we asked for a fix. I was worried the whole time about losing my glass of wine.

This is a great spot for sushi! Its located right on main street so you have great ambience. The customer service is excellent you couldnt ask for a friendlier staff. This place has been my quarantine favorite for to go orders. I typically oder the bento box from here with a From Dusk Till Dawn Roll (which uses real blue crab) or the Planet Earth Roll. The mushroom soup is also amazing here. I love that they have sake to go now and they gave me 50% off on alcohol which is better than Whole Foods price. I ordered over $70 and got a really good quality mask. I call in and pick up and I like that this place is super clean and the people working here wear masks to prepare your food. They treat regulars like royalty here and I get 20% discount to pick it up.

AVOID THIS RESTAURANT AT ALL COSTS. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. DO NOT COME. We waited 45 minutes while this restaurant served multiple tables that came after us. At one point, they brought us 2 rolls, and then when we asked if it was the right order- they took it to another table. Only to realize they had given yet another group that came later than us our food.After nearly an hour, we remain unfed and we gave up and left the restaurant with no food after the disastrous service.

I don’t hold a phd of Japanese cuisine or anything but girl if you really care about authentic Japanese food stay very far away from this place. I personally traveled to Japan twice and been to tens if not hundreds of Japanese restaurants. 50+ dollars for a chirashi don with only 5 pieces of sashimi? Pffff. And the presentation is horrible, plus the waitress tried too hard for her tips. I know I sound rude but just spilling some truth. Happy day.

After an error on an online order through Postmates, the manager at this location (bless her soul, for I can’t remember her name), took care of my girlfriend and I after there was an entire roll missing from our Bento Box. Instead of just passing us off to Postmates customer service, she made it right for us and for that we will definitely be returning. Great sushi, too!

Upon arrival at probably around midnight I was greeted by a host that took pride in his appearance. I point this out just based om the fact its a small restaurant, so its a good touch. In terms of the atmosphere, the ambiance was pretty nice however the seats were a little bit uncomfortable because there was no padding on the back of the seats along the wall. The food was definitely better than expected from such a small restaurant. I order the late might ramen special that had everything from the sea including mini octopus, clams, mussels, etc. It was very tasty and filling, this dish got 4.5 out of 5 stars. I also ordered, a generic sushi roll (dont recall which one) but it was rolled well so 4 out of 5. The crispy rice roll I ordered was delicious and very crispy, 5 out of 5. The highlight of my visit was the fresh and well put together sashimi, which was definitely 5 out of 5. The only reason this restaurant didnt get 5 out of 5 for me overall was just the comfort of the seating and just the overall presentation of the restaurant, but the food definitely made up for the lacking decor.

I got their fish burrito. It was wrapped in normal paper and they served it in a spicy mayo so it had the paper wrapping covered in mayo. It was really small, about half the size of a normal sushi roll. I was still starving afterwards and most annoying was they charged $21!!! At least fill it with more avocado or something. Regretted this meal and would not go here again.

Ok the food here is great but avoid ordering via Uber Eats. I got Scammedby the restaurant. I placed an order through the app and when I came to pick it up the restaurant asked if i was a driver or if it was for me. When I said it was for me they claimed they never received the order, even though the app confirmed it was received. They had me cancel the order on my end *Dont do that* and they had me ‘Re-order’ and pay them and they’d give me 20% discount. Sure. Turns out Uber (who’s customer service is terrible) won’t reimburse you when you cancel the order. So the only thing worse than paying $80 for sushi is paying $160 for the same meal because the restaurant scammed you and got paid twice....

I have never been disappointed by Tsukiji Sushi Sen! Im not a huge fan of sushi to begin with, but of the rolls Ive had, I actually find them quite delectable. My go-to is the teriyaki chicken plate (like I said, Im not that into sushi in general); but this dish is simply fantastic. It literally makes my day. Their side salads come with a very tasty peanut sauce (I think?) that I cant get enough of! Also, the presentation of the food is on point, even when I order delivery.

Just had a lovely Bento box lunch here. The waitress Jenny couldnt have been nicer and she made me feel very welcome. I was dining alone so that was nice to feel welcome. I asked her about lunch specials and she suggested the Bento box - I got tempura which was delicious with a spicy tuna roll which was also very good and I liked the salad dressing very much. Wow couldn’t believe how long it took for the waitress to acknowledge that I was ready to order. Meanwhile my friend with me ordered and got appetizers. Then I couldn’t believe how many times I tried to order a kamikaze roll with a request to simply add crab to the roll. Two diff staff members tried to persuade me to get other rolls each time, and not giving me what I want. then finally I got a third person and asked the same thing, she says ok, then she comes back and asks if I want avocado in it? I simply asked for kamikaze as is just add crab. Why can’t they just make what I ask for or say they can’t do it.??? So it’s been 20 minutes sitting at this table, I got annoyed and didn’t order anything and watched my friend eat.Way to treat the customer. First of all, this is a Japanese restaurant run by Chinese. Given that I have been to so so many Japanese restaurants and Japan, you shouldn’t expect this kind of place to be good. This place is a scam, we put our name on the waitlist, the manager told us we are next for the table. As we were waiting, we saw they gave the table away to a the party of 4 because it is bigger than our party to maximize profit. I know it’s hard time but this kind of place should never exist. No integrity.

We have been going there every year since 2014 but each year it is less good... 5 stars in 2014, 4 in 2015 and 3 in 2016. The service has deteriorated, no longer being up to the standard of a restaurant in the USA. The sushi is still good but we are starting to see a kind of cocktail sauce mayonnaise appear sometimes... Ugh!
