2023-09-17 21:26:38Overall: 4.1/5 (dine in)We were able to get a table upon walk-in on a Friday night. The staff was very professional and pretty attentive. The table was set with 2 dipping sauces which were pretty light. They only a few pieces of veggies with the kobe meat with the amount varying. For the kobe outside skirt, it came with 1 slice of squash. For the kobe kalbi gold, it came with 1 slice of squash, carrot, and green bell pepper. I wish they gave more veggies on the side like Korean BBQ places.I like that they give a piece of fat so we can coat the cooking grates with oil before cooking our food. This really helped prevent any of our meat from sticking on the grill.Fresh Beef Tongue ($18.50): OMG, this was too fresh for us. The texture made me feel like I was actually eating tongue so it became a mental block for me to eat it.Kobe Kalbi Gold ($32): Not worth it. It wasnt very flavorful and was too fatty.Kobe Outside Skirt ($21): This was so much better than the Kobe Kalbi Gold. More flavor and you can taste the superior quality.1 Bowl White Rice ($3.50): We got one bowl if white rice to split between two people.Lemon Sour ($8.50): Terrible. Taste like sour lemon soda.At the end of the meal, they offer complimentary roasted green tea. Its actually really good quality and tasty (not bitter) so its a great way to end your meal.Final Verdict: My husband and I agree that this was a pricey meal that wasnt worth it. If you want to try this place once, go during the weekday (M-Th) when you came try various meats via the family combo for only $67.

2022-10-02 04:33:31One of the better yakiniku restaurants in the area. Get there by the 5pm opening on a Wednesday and no wait for the seat. Later, the seats fill up and youll need to wait 1-2 hours. Everyone must be present to be seated. Dont bother calling - show up to put your name on the waiting list. The weekday special with beef and chicken for $47 is a good start to try. Later, you can wander into that other cuts like beef tongue and dishes with the yukke raw beef. Else, just stick with the marbled cuts of beef to bbq and eat with rice, then skip the rest of the menu and go right to dessert like kinako ice cream. (Like who eats a Korean bibimbap when going to a Japanese yakiniku restaurant?!)LA/OC smog rules handcuff them from using real charcoal, so the taste will never be as yummy as it is in Japan where they do use charcoal.$175 or so for 3 for dinner, no alcohol. Thats higher than the $125 or so a few years ago, so prices have been going up a lot. At this price range, Mortons for steak isnt a bad alternative, and youll get more beef to eat as well.

2022-01-22 03:53:53Its always a favorite of my husbands. We always ordered the skirt steaks. Usually if were in the mood we would get pork belly and sausages like tonight. The beef quality is consistently top notch. Just be ready to wait for an hour or two if you come past 6:30 on weekends. We came right around 5:40 and seated within 20 minutes.

2023-08-22 06:29:48This was the first time I tried Japanese BBQ and it was the best! The service was great! The server kept checking up on us if we need anything. The portions are small but it was worth it! My favorite was the beef tongue, short rib, and ribeye meat! Thank you for the amazing meal!

2019-11-25 03:30:01Reservation is recommendedFood was delicious from the beef to beef tongue to pork. This is not an AYCE establishment so if your hungry you will pay the price. You cant really go wrong with anything on the menu.Service is pretty good even when it was a full house. Everything came out quickly.Definitely will come back.

2023-11-04 18:38:26Pretty average spot, not worth the price. We got the Kobe cubes, beef tongue, beef heart, mushrooms and kimchi fried rice. Some of the meats and the mushrooms had zero flavor. I was really disappointed in the Kobe meat. The only thing with flavor was the Kimchi fried rice. Also, their website is filled with so many ads, never seen that for a restaurant. It is not mobile friendly

2021-07-24 18:52:17This place is popular, we went half an hour before their dinner opening on a weekday and the line quickly grew. Was seated shortly after 5pm. Ordered a variety of wagyu snd seafood to grill. Everything was super good and enjoyable. Look forward to returning.

2022-04-14 00:32:00For sure one of my top 3 favorite Japanese grills in the states! Especially the wagyu and raw beef. We went from dtla to OC for this for so many times. Remember to get there early, or you will need to wait for more than an hour.
