Friendliest people and great restaurant. Overall I recommend this place 10/10 as it’s so close and convenient to my house for an authentic Indian cuisine. Pictures don’t do enough justice, you have to try it for yourself!

I am so disappointed that I spent 5 years here in Southern California without coming here. They sent a menu to my old apartment and I threw it away but people please come here and eat you will not regret it. For those who do not like spicy start at 2-3 and you can adjust up if it’s not spicy enough. The staff were very friendly the food was absolutely amazing and the atmosphere was homey and clean. I am absolutely delighted to have stopped here today and will be back often so long as I stay in Southern California.

UPDATE: We went to Tumeric hut yesterday and the food was absolutely delicious so we went back again today. As usual our favorite dishes were even better today and yesterday compared to last year!!Best Indian food I’ve had in a while (and I am indian). The restaurant has a very authentic feel as you can hear the workers/owners speak Hindi and Punjabi. The restaurant smells like my house after my mom makes an elaborate meal. The food is DELICIOUS. The curries and masala gravies are freshly made… nothing pre-made about them. The dal makhani actually tasted like it had fresh makhan (butter) in it instead of heavy cream and oil. The owners are very friendly! There is sometimes a wait, but it’s worth it. Highly recommend them. Best compared to the others in the area!!

The best Indian cuisine restaurants in recent times. Self order and cozy place. Fresh and tasty as food is prepared on demand. They have open kitchen and you can see all the action live. Great service and very amicable. Overall very satisfied. The mango lassi and desserts also feel nostalgic.

First time coming and the service was so nice. She helped me figure out what to order and even let me try a desert before buying. I got the butter chicken and garlic naan on a cold day and was happily warmed up from it. I will definitely be coming back here for more!

Came in for lunch and got the all you can eat buffet special, $21 per person (Saturdays and Sundays 11:30-2:30) left stuffed! The service was really great - came in when it wasn’t busy and they made fresh naan even when it was slow. The food has a ton of flavor, the butter chicken was really rich. 10/10 will came again.

The ordering experience is modernized and streamlined with two options; a large touchscreen panel where you can place your order and pay or walk-up traditional order and pay option in person at the register. Occasionally, you may experience a wait for hand-crafted food but the quality is worth it.On one visit I ordered rice pudding with my dinner order to learn it was going to take at least 45 minutes because they had just ran out and had to make a fresh batch. I was visibly disappointed but understood, and before I could make a decision to cancel, the owner said, Where do you live? I will drop it off to you. I said, Really? She replied, Yes, I just want people to be happy. I know how it is when you have a taste for something and were looking forward to it. And so she did. This will be my go-to for Indian cuisine from here on out.

UPDATE 2: My Indian wife came back from deployment and I had not been eating as much spicy foods while she was gone but we ordered our previous spice level. I think this was the only time I’ve kept eating a dish despite my mouth burning because how good it was. We will be moving out of the area and will miss the delicious food and friendly staff. Highly recommend trying a dinner here to experience some great Indian food!UPDATE: Thank goodness they have a new chef! There was a gradual decrease in food quality and increase in wait times so we had had fewer visits, really only coming because how nice and friendly the staff were and would probably not have returned otherwise this most recent time. But we are extremely glad we did! The food was the best we’ve had. The flavors were diverse and authentic. The food was not oily like other Indian restaurants that we ended up re-trying due to the previous disappointment. Definitely worth “re-extolling”!We’ve tried 4 different Indian restaurants in the area and have found the atmosphere and food here amazing. The foods taste authentic without being oily or made with processed foods. Even the Baingan Bharta had a very smoky flavor. Highly recommended.

Misunderstanding on the spiciness level which we asked for 4-5 and ended up incredibly spicy to a point where all tasted the same. Asked to correct the order and give the least spicy option. Unwillingly agreed to fix the order after speaking with the manager and ended up watering down the same exact food we brought back and put back in the same exact containers, even with the marker corrected the name. Water just dripping off the food and got back with no meat at all in one of the containers. Terrible choice and an absolute mistake to choose this place. Should’ve gone with love boat sushi next door as we planned. Untrustworthy people, $82 for a to go order thrown in the trash. Very little to no people these days care about their business.

My experience was very disappointing and Im glad this was not my first time trying Indian food.I will never eat there again; If youre looking for good Indian food with less than 30 min wait time, then Id suggest that you try Taste of the Himalayas instead.There was a sign in the store that said the minimum wait time is 30-40 mins, so I decided to go shopping after they took my order and phone number.I decided to go back an hour after assuming they messed up my phone number, and noticed the couple who ordered after me were about done with their meal.The guy assured me that my order was just completed, and the woman gave me my food with a beautiful smile, so I couldnt be too mad for waiting more than 20 minutes than I had anticipated.I was devastated when I got home to see what I had just spent approximately $40 for; I gave 2 stars because the Biryani had a reasonable amount of meat in it, otherwise, I wouldve only given 1 star.Why would you serve anyone food that looked like that? I wouldve preferred a refund if they had told me that they messed up my food 😒

Very big goodness in a small restaurant! The service was attentive, and was especially pleasant in showing interest in our questions about Indian cuisine. My group of friends and I enjoyed a variety of dishes today. I found everything delicious. While I am not very familiar with Indian cuisine, the textures of the food and the balance of flavors in each dish seemed well executed to me.

Buffet is only Saturday and Sunday from 11:30-2:30. Good selections of food. 4 kinds of vegetable dishes and 4 kinds of chicken dishes. Including plain rice, naan and hot masala chai tea. And rice pudding for dessert. We enjoyed our lunch. And the owner Priya is the sweetest. Can’t wait to go back soon. The restaurant is clean and pretty inside.

I’ve been here only twice. I’m not familiar with Indian food, but I like it. The self-ordering computer screen was a little intimidating to me. I was glad I was the only customer so that I could take my time. I appreciate the meatless options, so that’s what I ordered, a take-out of yellow daal with turmeric rice. It’s a very small but cozy-looking restaurant. However, I miss the personal interaction with a server to ask questions, ask for suggestions, and just the friendliness of innocent banter.

I was recovering from food poisoning and needed food that was light, comforting, and healthy. Ive been so looking forward to place opening since they first put the Coming Soon sign 2 years ago. I was so worried that it would never open bec of its delay do to Covid-19 but kept my hopes up every time I drove past and something inside had been changed.At last it opened and Im so happy to report that the food is even better than what I was hoping for! The food wasnt bad, but for $40 I would expect better. I ordered Madras lamb with rice (quite good), with a side of naan, mint chutney, and rasmalai. Normally Im a chutney fanatic, but this chutney was brown and so salty that it was almost inedible. The rasmalai was nothing like the description which said it would be three pieces served in a condensed milk. Instead what I received were three dry flavorless pieces with no milk, nothing like the item I thought I was ordering. Will not be returning.

We took take out from here. I made a phone order and the food was ready to be picked up when I arrived after 20 mins.The food we ordered ( chicken biriyani and chicken Tikka masala ) were.good. chicken biriyani was better compared to other restaurants I had eaten in Carlsbad ( couple of restaurants). I always support women owned business and the buffet was good and mild enough for the first timer like my friend who cant tolerate spicy :)The buffet consists of 4 veggies and 4 meats dish, desserts, naan, and also hot chai tea. The chai tea was good and it wasnt overpowering like some other places Ive been.My fave is always chicken madras and butter chicken. If you would like to host a party, they also serve catering.PS: If you look at my reviews at other Indian and himalayan food places, this is the only place I give 5 stars, because it was authentic and you can even see the cloves, the cardamom and other spices in your food, they dont play with instant and powder spices. Turmeric is playing important role in making curry and in ayurveda, its a golden spice.I will comeback often on the winter time. Not sure how this place has 4.7 rating at the moment I am writing this review. But I had a really bad Indian food since long time. I ordered the most famous Garlic Naan, and Paneer tikka masala. Garlic naan was literally like a garlic cracker, and paneer tikka masala was so red in color that it did not even looked natural, and lacks in authenticity. My hands were red in color even after washing my hands with soap, just imagine how unhealthy it is when you consume it. For those who are looking for traditional North Indian food, this is not the place. Also the prices are off the roof for such an Indian restaurant. I understand that the pandemic might be a reason for this price increase, but please keep up the quality and authenticity as we are paying high price. Also, be prepared to wait for your order, if you are in hurry or dropping by at your lunch time, make sure you have enough lunch break time.I still wanna give 3 star as this was just my first experience here, not sure if it is how it is all the time though. Meteocre Indian food. I am Indian and have had Indian food at different restaurants along with authentic Indian food I can make myself or family members have made for me. We have a long drive home so we just opted to try this place. Regretted it.Was hoping the food was not going to disappoint me this bad.Chicken Tikka Masala was just okay.Goat Vindaloo was absolutely horrendous. They used red dye to get the colour to be THAT red, you can see by the BRIGHT RED potato in the picture. The goat tasted really gamey and it tasted really old. Man I wish when I asked if they could do Lamb vindaloo, they said no and left it at a just no, they offered goat vindaloo instead, were feeling kind of sick. It went in the trash.Rasmalai was made with the same base as you would with kheer (rosewater/rose essence) Rasmalai is supposed to have cardamom flavour to it, but it was just okay, rasmalai is also supposed to have pistachio nuts, not pine nutsGalab Jaman was okay, not super duper soft but okay.The garlic on the garlic naan wasnt really cooked?Samosas were also just okay, only thing that was edible other than the Mango Lassi which was pretty decent actually.Even the rice was slightly undercooked and lukewarm.Overall, well never be back again. Delicious! This is our second time to the weekend buffet and we love it. Buffet is from 11:30-2:30 and the food changes week to week. They also have veg options. Food is very mild but if you want it hotter ask for chili. Love that the cooks let you know if a fresh batch is coming. Love the chai tea and buffet also comes with a little dessert. This week was bread pudding. So good! Also, during the buffet hours there’s no to-go from their original menu. Will definitely come again!

The palak paneer was blended until it was a watery smooth consistency rather than having the body it should have and both the spinach and cheese were so salty it left my tongue feeling like it was salt burned. All was appropriately spicy - not too much, not too little but the salt and poor quality made it inedible. The garlic naan didnt have the characteristic toast or char from the proper oven. It was rubbery and not very garlicky. It is possible that my pallet was blown out by all the salt but after spending over $70, my husband and I only ate a few bites of each item so I doubt it. I can say the saffron rice was nice. There was some sort of spice pods in mine and I actually ate one by mistake. It was not good. Avoid the pods in the rice and its good.

Tried this place for the first time today. We frequently eat indian food around the county and state. We had the lunch special (2 choices + rice for $11.99). - chicken vindaloo, chicken korma, mango chicken and dal. It is the best culinary experience I have had in years. Seriously, this is great food. Indian food is always a bit higher $ than most other foods. The lunch specials tend to make it more affordable. In addition the friendly help and great service make this a favorite for the future. Just do it!

I didn’t give it a 1 star review because the food is still pretty good, but the service is not great. The first time we came we waited 2+ hours for our food. We thought maybe it was just because they recently opened and decided to give it another try. It is 30 minutes past the expected pickup time and my husband is still waiting on our order. Best Indian food in North County! The other Indian restaurants I have been to have sweeter sauces that feel a little inauthentic. At Tumeric Hut the flavors of the curry are very bold and mix perfectly with the other ingredients. This food tells a story and I for one will be back for more!

So many tasty vegetarian options! More variety of appetizers than most Indian restaurants (like bhel puri!). Very kind staff. And they are on Door Dash! This is one of my favorite Indian restaurants ever, including my favorites in India. Every meal I order surpasses the last. Only slight drawback is that they seem to use a lot of plastic in their take-out, rather than sustainable packaging. They do use some cardboard cartons for some things like samosas and I understand that curries are a real challenge to pack. Im hoping in time that packaging options for soups and curries will be more sustainable-- thats not this restaurants fault. I would happily pay more to not have so much plastic in my take-out.

OMG - I’m HOOKED on this place!! Their food is incredibly flavorful and freshly made every single day with loads of delicious spices and herbs. Be advised: this not fast food! You are not ordering from vats of pre-made items, but rather each meal is made to order by Turmeric Huts wonderful staff. I order about an hour before I’m ready to eat and it works out nicely. Maybe for a large order, considering ordering even earlier. I don’t know if it will always take this long for their amazing food, but I can tell you that it is absolutely worth it!! I eat here weekly, if not multiple times a week. Just figure the timing into your meal and then get ready to be delighted!

HIDDEN GEM!!!Weve been wanting to try this place out. We took one step inside and seen them making the naan bread from scratch. Thats all it took! We had a seat and they did not disappoint. Everything here here is homemade. After my own heart.We started off with some seasoned chips in the shape of a wheel. Great new spot in North County. Family run, very friendly staff. Online ordering through their website made pickup super easy, and item descriptions there help newcomers to Indian food. We got aloo paratha, which was baked fresh in front of us, garlic naan, samosas, butter chicken, chicken vindaloo, aloo mutter, pulav, and a couple of other appetizers. Okay, so Im just going to be honest. This is a new place so I figured Id give it a try. First time, I ordered Chicken Tika Masala. Asked for mild. And I ordered plain Naan. Didnt wait too long, like 35 minutes. no big deal, I know it takes time to cook good food. When I got home after picking it up, the food was still hot which was a good sign. However, the food was definitely not mild. and the naan was flatter than store bought Naan.I went back a second time figuring it was just an accident. Tried chicken korma. Lamb korma for another person. Again asked for mild and had plain naan. Ill give it to them. They definitely stick to their spice level if this was mild. I dont want to see what anything above mild was.. pulled out 6 red chilis from my to-go bowl. and Im downing my second glass of milk and my mouth is still burning. Naan was a bit different, more yellow... still a bit over cooked. So, if you like super spiced Indian food, go for it. what little flavor I could taste over the heat was pretty good. I myself cant handle it, weak stomach where super hot spices dont mix. However, order either online or waaay in advance because I waited about an hour and a half to get my food and I dont think I was the only one.

First impressions, meh. I wouldn’t say it’s one of the best, but it’s not the worst. First of all, they’re overpriced small portions. Secondly, we got the chicken tikka masala and the shrimp curry. The chicken was dry, and the shrimp was over cooked. I hate critiquing a new business like this but the food wasn’t what we’d hoped. I’d definitely try this place out regardless and get your own opinion on it.

The owner reached out to me after I gave a bad review on my first order. Had to wait for 1 hour+ to get my food. Food was good, but the experience really threw me off.Then I decided to give another chance since I could have been at the wrong place at the wrong time.
