Pure vegetarian and authentic South Indian restaurant. Food is absolutely delicious, we tried ghee dosa, ghee rava onion masala dosa, idly vada combo and onion tomato chili uthappam. Everything was so so good and service is excellent. I’d highly recommend you try this place, we will be coming back here whenever we crave South Indian food.

I tied this place last week with my wife. We both loved it! It been here for about six months but this the first time I noticed it. We just loved everything we tried. I’m not versed in southern Indian cuisine, so each dished was a new experience. Loved everything! I took a picture of receipt because I know I was going to have trouble remembering everything we tried- glad I did. See photo for items we ordered! We will be back.

We ordered their Andhra Mirchi Bajji with filter coffee. The coffee was a little strong for me. The smell of Bajji reminded me of Hyderabads street Bajji. They gave Bajji with onions and masala. They were small and they werent slit and stuffed with onion masala. Otherwise they almost gave the taste of Indian street Bajjis. The place is very clean and quiet. Service was quick. They have the tables for wheel accessibility. The ghee podi onion masala dosa was good. It was crispy with perfect podi. But vada was not crispy and it didnt have onions, cilantro, and chilies like the last time I had there

The Indian restaurant business in the Bay Area is very highly competitive. To land a customer who will keep coming back requires distinction in several aspects of the dining experience.Uluvacharu has distinguished itself. The four different chutneys served along with the dosa, each has a flavor that competes for your next bite. The sambhar has an authentic consistency with just the right mix and quantity of veggies.I like it spicy! The Ghee Kara Onion Masala Dosa just hit the spot!The service has to be mentioned. Many restaurants never have the wait staff offer a 2nd helping of the chutneys and sambhar... Uluvacharu does. Now that is service. Finally, once we were done, we were left alone to enjoy our filter coffee and stay...I am signing up to be a regular!

Ulavacharu Tiffins is a hidden gem for South Indian cuisine lovers! The Madras Paratha with Chole was a standout dish - the paratha was flaky and flavorful, while the chole was rich and spicy. The Onion Rava Masala Dosa was also decent, with a nice balance of sweet and savory flavors. The service was prompt and friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. Overall, a great spot for a delicious and authentic South Indian meal. Highly recommended!

We ordered paratha with channa, mirchi bajji, ghee kara dosa, and filter coffee. The kara dosa is somewhat spicy, but the mirchi bajji and paratha are delicious.

They were attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was exceptional. Recently opened branch of Ulavacharu Sunnyvale, this place has got a respectable breakfast selection. We had the dosa and they are pretty good. Hopefully theyll increase their selections for main meals as they build up.

We came here for dinner when they had only recently opened. The food was as good as the other location. But service was very uncoordinated and confusing.we got items that we didn’t order. The appetizer was the last to come 15 minutes after we u done with our dinner. hoping to visit again for a better experience .

Really good food and atmosphere, the only thing that going to this demands is patience as it’s usually a wait to get a table. You cannot go wrong with this place for South Indian cuisine. This location is better than Santa Clara in terms of the atmosphere

Went here for the first time today and definitely will be back! Easy parking, immediate seating and inviting ambiance was a great start. Extensive dosa menu was a little intimidating but I asked for a recommendation and loved the crispy Ravi Dosa I got. It was served with 4 different delicious chutneys and some sambar as well. I also tried the Podi Idly and it was fantastic! Would be very happy to eat the same thing next time but may also want to explore other choices.

This location of UlavacharU is much better with more spaced out seating. The interior design is beautiful mostly wooden with bamboo accents.We ordered Andhra style Mirchi bajji and it was a good spin on Mirchi pakoda. Madras paratha with chana was great too. Ghee Kara masala Dosa and rava kesari were delicious.

My girlfriend and I are of South American and European descent, and were surprised others like us havent discovered Ulavacharu yet. Their regular Indian clientelle speaks to their authenticity.Weve been coming here almost weekly. The dosa and uttapam are gluten-free, vegan heaven! The 4 chutneys that come with are flavor bombs on the palette!Many of the dishes are around $10 and quite filling.My girlfriend is sooo sensitive to even the most subtle spicy flavor, and they accommodate her perfectly.All of the staff are friendly and kind.It used to be a Japanese restaurant, which has a clean open feel to it, and nicely decorated in Indian style.

Food is great and the taste is more or less consistent. Prefer ordering for pick up after trying this place a few times - their customer service is quite disappointing. They bring the wrong order saying we ordered that item and the other time they were trying to remove the plates even before we were finished with our meal. They need to train their staff better. They also need to increase the portion size of the accompaniments like chutneys and curries as every time we need to ask them for extra.

Excellent food with unorganized and poor service.Visited on a Saturday for lunch, place was 60% full with 2 people working to take orders and bringing food. Resturant looks nicer than the Santa Clara location.Once we were seated, took over 10 minutes to flag someone to give us a menu and another 10-15 minutes before we had to again track someone to place our order. We ordered Dosa and Parotta and Kara dosa, the food was delivered after another 15 minutes. The food quality was very good and a bit spicy the way we like it. Kids found it a tad spicy, so we ordered a cup of yogurt and that took 4 reminders and 15 minutes to get to the table.There was a big party sitting next to us who were complaining that part of their order was not delivered to their table and that they were done with their meal.Service needs to improve.

Nice new location... I still remember when business was slow during the lockdown. I even get a similar peaceful feeling in the parking lot as I did in the original location.The interior is quite comfortable for dine in, and the food is just as good.

Good vegetarian south Indian food. I am personally not a fan of south Indian cuisine, but everyone in the party liked the food.The kids options can be improved. The samber and sauces that come with the kids menu are very spicy and I would say *not* suitable for kids. Please fix it if possible.

Upma and vada are non-standard and taste different compared to restaurants back home, so Ive mixed feelings about the taste. I think if they could onions and pepper to vadas I’d like it.Rest of the food including sambar, chutneys, service and ambiance were all great. Looking forward to trying it again. For some reason place still doesnt show up on google maps.

Food we ordered (dosa, idli, vada) was good but the service was terrible. No one really checks with you once after the initial order was taken and served.
