I had dinner at Umaya Ramen with some friends and we had some amazing ramen. We also split an order of loaded fries which were delicious. If youre looking for a Hardy and delicious ramen Umaya is a good place to stop in. I would highly recommend and would love to come back.

Great ramen place thats tucked in the back. The tapas are delicious asking with any ramen you order especially their Umaya ramen! Pitchers of beer are pretty reasonable. Turns into a great meeting place with friends in the back when they open up the bar at 5.

Sometimes it can be loud in there, but its okay because the foods still good and the service is on point. Lots of good topping options for your ramen bowl. Also, there are plenty of other non-ramen items to choose from if you aint craving noods 😎

IF I COULD I’D GIVE A 10 star rating!!!!!! This place and service was TOP TIER!!! MJ welcomed us in with such amazing vibes and a great welcoming smile, and our server Nick was also very attentive and helpful with recommendations and suggestions for our first visit!!! I definitely found my new favorite ramen spot, I ordered the vegetarian ramen and the broth was so creamy and delicious!! Every time Ive been here its been a great experience. The food is not the best Ive ever had, but that being said it is absolutely delicious. The prices are fair. The service is fast. Their Japanese iced coffee is to die for. Highly recommend

Good to great all around. Great value: portions were good, the noodles had good texture to them, and the broth was very tasty but not too overpowering. Additional toppings are a little expensive, but your standard $9ish bowls come with a good deal of things that are usually extra anyway (like bamboo shoots and seaweed). The loaded fries come with a good deal of short rib and the karaage was very crunchy with good seasoning in the breading. Definitely found a new spot to come!

They said the wait was 30-45 minutes. We waited for an hour and half. We checked in to be seated around 6pm on a monday night (10.25.2021). We got a text around 730pm and got seated 735 since were just waiting outside, right behind the counter where we can see them work. Do the math. We also observed from a good vantage point on how things are being run on this ramen place. We ordered right away since we knew that they move slow. We got our ramen around 745pm. If youre calling to place an order, you will never get your phone order because they never answer the phone. Forget it! I called 5 times to test them and they failed miserably. The waiting line grew and most people waiting to be seated ended up ordering their food for to-go because it takes forever to get a seat. No ones running the traffic and they dont care if their customer waits longer than the initial time they told them. Servers here are not pro-customers. They dont care! Yet their ramen is not something to die for. I tasted better ramen. Heads up, mens bathroom is filthy dirty. Their hand soap dispenser is a sauce dispenser. I thought it was just left there by accident. But nope, its a handsoap.

Ooooh... Okay. Its been a while since I have done a negative review. But it has also been a while since I have had mediocre service and blah food. And to have it at a ramen joint... Man.. that just grinds my gears!Umaya Ramen in Cerritos. Oh boy.When I first walked in I was half way greeted by a young man in faded jeans, a denim jacket and a ball cap. I couldnt really hear him so I just nodded. It took me a few seconds, but this guy was my greeter! I thought this guy was just another customer. I asked for a table and he basically pointed to any of the open tables. I sat down at a booth that was empty and narrowly missed the edamame beans all over the floor. I asked for a coke and a menu, when the denim clad host pointed to the QR code stand. Ohhhh.. its one of those ... I have only scanned a qr code once before at a restaurant, but ok. Go with the flow. I felt a little attitude as my host walked off to get my beverage.I eventually ordered the Umaya Ramen, which was a tonkotsu ramen.As I waited, I took notice of my surroundings .. supplies... Supplies...and more supplies. Napkins, sauces, order pads, boxes of spoons, all sorts of clutter. Then I noticed the staff. There were five. Three of them were on their phones. Well when its 12:30 and only 4 other people are in the joint, there is not much to do, like sweep the floor free of fallen food or clean the clutter.My bowl came and the first thing I notice is that I have no chili sauce or pepper . Ill try the soup . Plastic rinky dinky ice cream cup spoon. Where is the ramen!? I see egg, I see a half burnt piece of pork, ginger, naruto and mushrooms. I dig and oh... Chow mein noodles were in my bowl. Not ramen . Definitely not made in house. The broth was decent. It already had some chili oil in it so it had a slight kick. But... What... Wait.. why is there ground beef at the bottom of the bowl? Another waiter pulled himself away from his cellphone asked if I was okay, I lied and just nodded and waved him off. Mr. Faded Jeans came by with my bill before I could even ask for it.Yea... Not coming back. Pics speak for themselves. None of the staff could have been over 30 and it shows. An old school ramen joint master chef would be ashamed. I know I am.

The food was ok, but the menu pricing was inaccurate or I was overcharged (the menu shows $7 for the 4 piece Takoyaki, but it was $8 on my bill). The portions for the kids ramen were as expected, and the flavor was good. The service was quick, but not to my usual expectations. Ive been here other times and had a better experience, but perhaps its not an ideal place for families.

I would say it’s one of the best places for ramen among all of the places that I have been to. I been here twice first time I tried Umaya ramen and it was good. The second time was spicy miso ramen but I don’t like it as much. Personally don’t like takoyaki here and I think a bowl of ramen is enough for your meal. Anything more will be too much.

We came here because of the reviews and close proximity to home. Big mistake! The Ramen was subpar to any other Ramen weve tried. Only 1 piece of meat and a whole bowl of noodles. Flavor was Ok but thats it. The egg tasted funny almost sour. My husband ordered the short rib rice and that was also subpar. The waitress were on their cellphones and never brought the forks We asked for. Overall, super disappointing!

Fantastic food and even better service! We had an awesome waiter, MJ, who gave us perfect recommendations and provided top-notch service - attentive without being overbearing and super friendly and personable. The food was delicious; we had the pork belly sushi and pan fried gyoza as appetizers and beef and shrimp udon (with REALLY good broth, which I am a huge stickler for...shout out to MJs coworker who let me sample some broth to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted) and a side of curry rice. We finished our meal with a cute little creme brulee, which was equally as tasty. All in all, it was an 11/10 experience! I definitely recommend this cute little restaurant and do not hesitate to ask for MJ; you will NOT be disappointed!

I got the spicy chicken noodle soup. Im giving this place four stars because my chicken was hard and chewy. It seemed as if it was preheated and not fresh. It wasnt soft and tender. Didnt like my egg cut in half. It dissipated in my soup once I bit it. I should have asked for a whole egg. Besides this, the soup had great flavor. If they can fix this problem with the chicken I would give this place five stars. Costumer service was excellent. Very friendly staff and quick to receive food once ordered. They kept checking on me if I needed anything. Nice ambiance. Place was very clean. I would definitely return.

Nice little quaint spot with an inviting decor. They played recent up to date music that had a nice vibe to it. There is a whole other room on the backside for when they get more crowded that looks like it could get pretty swanky during busy hours. Made me want to come back just to check it out. It Fast service. GREAT ramen! I had the spicy miso soup with a Sapporo draft on the side. It was soooo delicious. Let me tell you though... I eat spicy like it’s nothing but this right here.... WOW! Be cautious. I’ll come back for sure. Happy hour next time. Bathroom was pretty cool too (don’t know if that matters to anyone. I just found it interesting)

My son loves ramen and I hadnt been to anywhere local that served ramen. We decided to try this location as it was close to the movie theatre that we had just left. The location is a little tucked away and the over all vibe of the location is really warm. The staff is extremely nice as well as inviting. My son ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen with chashu, dry nori, green onion, mushrooms and fish cakes and I ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen with chashu, spicy ground pork, spicy paste, bean sprouts, cabbage, sesame seeds, green onion, mushrooms and fish cakes. My son liked the Tonkatsu and I tried it as well. The broth was savory but I felt liked they added just a bit too much nori for my taste. It overpowered the soup and the overall taste of the ramen. Over all it wasnt that bad. When I ordered the spicy miso, I ordered it with medium heat and that was plenty. Now I love spicy food and the overall spicy wasnt too hot but it was spicy enough that again, it was overpowering the taste of the broth and the ramen. On both orders the chashu was really tough and not tender at all. The taste of the chashu wasnt bad but I felt like if the precook would have been a bit longer it would have been more tender. Over all the experience wasnt bad and I feel like I should give it a second shot. Maybe try something different. I would recommend for someone to give it a shot.

It seemed like it was a small space because they divided the restaurant into a bar and a restaurant area. The staff was quick, friendly and courteous. The food was delicious. You can order between two types of ramen: traditional and a thinner softer one. We started off with a chicken karaage which was a simultaneously moist and crunchy popcorn chicken with a delicious garlic aioli dipping sauce. My dad got a chicken curry jambalaya, mommy got a miso ramen and I got a black garlic ramen. I highly recommend the ramen I got. You can add different toppings to the ramen. The deep fried Oreo cookie à la mode was delicious! I’d love to come back here again.Oh, a side note: the bar area had a cool ambience. There was a lounge seating area and they were playing American ninja warrior on a flat screen that I watched as I was heading to the bathroom.

Waitress was nice and that’s about it. We were told “Last Call” for alcohol shortly before Eleven PM. With that said, a round of second beer were ordered and we asked how much later we could stay. She replied @2330. Just after closing they decided to turn the tv off. We asked if there was any way to keep the tv on and Amena responses that “we have lives too”. In the mood for Ramen, I stepped out to this center. The atmosphere is energetic and casual, the lighting somewhat dim for an evening, and the staff is good at high pace traffic.I ordered the Miso Ramen, with an appetizer they were advertising, the Pork Belly Oshi. Both were good. Not overly flavorful or memorable. Both had a somewhat grimy feel to them (but it IS pork belly, so whatd you expect!). Miso tends to have a creamy, salty, meaty taste to the ramen soup base, but all that stuck out in this dish was the creaminess. The noodles didnt have that chew you get in a GREAT bowl of ramen, but they werent mushy either. If returning, Id probably aim for the Shoyu instead, and have a salt shaker on hand if it doesnt deliver.I wouldnt return on my own, but if with a group of friends who wanted to go, I wouldnt say no. Its worth a try!

Dang huge bummer when you spend $25 postmating ramen to work and this tiny portion shows up with 2 tiny thin slices of pork in the tonkotsu ramen. Spent extra $2 to get black garlic in my broth to explain that color (should have spent the extra $ on an egg for some protein.) The flavor was ok, if the portion would have been doubled for $15 a bowl it would have gotten 4 stars.

My kid ordered Sumo size Umaya house ramen today, 2/12/23, about 8pm. The noodle never cooked!! So he asked to change the broth and the second one also never cooked. What is wrong with you?? You are special at ramen!! But you never know how to make noodles well!! Please make the kitchen staff well trained!

They did seat us right away at the bar, but still waited for a while to receive our food. I was with good company so the wait didnt bother us much. Loveeeeed the Umaya burger. Definitely worth a try.Their ramen is also pretty good. The spicy paste brought my experience to a new level! Ive never seen another place have something like that. Its made of Habanero peppers and actually gives a good kick of spice. As someone who loves spicy food this was a really amazing surprise to Japanese food that isnt usually spicy in that way.Atmosphere is really nice. Good for groups, one on ones or even alone in my opinion.Staff are amazingly friendly and accommodating!

One of the worst Japanese Bar/Restaurants I have been in.Service is the only reason I gave them 1 star.1. Ordered Spicy Garlic Edamame as an appetizer. The edamame arrived smelling like burned, is because was burned, on top they added this mix of garlic/chili pepper powder to the already dry and burned edamame. I should have taken a picture. Just tried 1 and it was so bad tasted like frozen/burned. just told the guy you can take that away. He probably didnt understand me, because he left it there.2. Ordered their famous Umaya Ramen there was no texture or any presentation which really should have looked like the pictures from the menu, they placed a thin plastic spoon on top, I guess they thought (white guy, alone looks kind a distracted, lets give him our left overs). The noodles were fine even though the amount was not even half of the bowl, the broth tasted alright, I think the best part was the boiled egg, but when I looked for the pork tonkotsu I was impressed. If you have seen Gordon Ramsey from one of his episodes where he stands his meal a pork chop in the table it was almost the same, this tonkotsu was frozen and I am sure they just defrost it in the microwave and dumped it in the ramen. If I have eaten that I am sure could be sick in less than 1 hour. Now I remember the reason why I prefer to cook at my place. I hope they get fine for risking people health.Total lost $25 ($7 edamame and $15.50 ramen + Tax). First and last time coming to this place. Good Luck

Ordered their Keto ramen and it knocked it out of the park! The noodles are mushroom noodles rather than the traditional noodles and it hit the spot. I was expecting for it to come with just broth, meat, and veggies so the noodles were a nice surprise. Would definitely recommend for anyone on a low carb diet or who wants a lower calorie option.

Small indoor dining area, however, was able to get a table quickly. My order was taken immediately - got the potstickers panfried and they were delicious! All sauces are served in sealed containers for safety. Then the best part - the ramen. I ordered the black ramen. Great flavor, added a chili oil float and some siracha for extra kick. The servers were very attentive and wore their masks at all times. Will come back for more!

Usually a good quick stop for ramen but I Made a order to go and received a text thanking me for my order. Ended up waiting 40 mins for a update, but ended up having to go in to ask for my order. Broth was lukewarm and noodles were molded to the bowl employee didn’t offer any type of Quality check and just said “my bad I didn’t know about this order.”. We enjoyed the ramen, but the bar area where were seated was too dark, so I ended up choking on the chili that was floating in the soup because I couldnt see it. Otherwise, the flavors were very spot on and not overly fatty. Would love to go back again, but would definitely ask to be seated in the brighter area.

Disgusting. I stopped at this restaurant once and ordered the short rib bowl and it gave me horrible food poisoning. To start, it didn’t taste that great which wasn’t a big deal but shortly after I began to feel nauseous. Later on, I woke up with intense vomiting and other food poisoning symptoms. I was in your restaurant on Sunday and slipped in the bathroom. It look d like the toilet had overflowed. I didn’t realize it was wet until I’d fallen. I used to come this place all the time when I lived closer and I would always get the same thing, spicy miso ramen medium, no meat, extra noodles and egg. Usually I would rate 5 stars, but tonight I drove an hour and a half round trip to get my favorite ramen from here. The person on togo who took my order did not give me medium spice, it actually wasn’t spicy at all and I’m pretty sure it was regular miso ramen. I was so upset to drive 45 minutes back home and not even have what I wanted. I tried to call and have things made right and the hostess admitted to her mistake which I really appreciated, but the best she could do was promise me a free egg and noodles for next time which I probably won’t get because it was at the word of a hostess not even a manager. The hostess said she’d leave a note on the pos for next time. I have no clue when I’ll be back because it’s such a long drive round trip. I was so disappointed and upset I paid $16 for something I wont eat. I’ll definitely find somewhere closer to home. What a waste.

I went there and had the bone broth soup, paid extra for extra broth but the broth failed the authenticity test. Overnight in the refrigerator it did not thicken and gel over as real bone broth does. The chicken ramen was great it had good noodle and chicken I added shrimp to give it a little seafood and then we ordered loaded fries came with pico de gallo cubed beef and hot tea with lemon and honey for the drink I think I go back and try something else because everything tasted delicious.

Pretty good place, good service, good size portions. Got the ramen sumo, great size for two to share with the jambalaya. Really tasty iced matcha green tea.

The food was amazing. I tried the tempura shrimp, edamame and the chicken ramen. I was sooo good. I think I still have food coma. Definitely comfort food and perfect for when youre feeling down. Will be back soon.

I ordered the Vegetarian Ramen plate with Miso broth. Its very tasty and the vegetables are on point. All though I do feel like they could have given more noodles.

Theres almost no wait to be seated, and the service is always excellent. Not to mention happy hour on appetizers everyday from 5:30 to 7:30.

The Umaya ramen was delicious. A very rich Tonkatsu broth (pork broth) and superb noodles. The marinated soft boiled egg was excellent.
