The only place in town we get our Chinese food fix from! Huge portions, super fresh, and flavors are always consistent and perfect. Weve been eating here for nearly 10 years now and have never been disappointed! They have party trays too! Support your local businesses! Highly recommended.

Small place, great food! Went in with my family to order to go. The gentleman who took our orders was very friendly and personable, food was out pretty quick and when we ate at home we realized it was all delicious! Fairly priced and this is officially our go to place for some great Asian cuisine! Much better than the others we’ve tried in town!
We had low expectations with local food scene after trying a couple of well-reviewed places in Oroville, but were pleasantly surprised by Uncle Pings food. Its menu is standard americanized chinese food but well executed, huge portions and tasty. We ordered ginger and scallion beef and salt pepper pork chops, the beef was tender and thick cut and no wonder the salt pepper pork was a local favorite. People who are used to authentic Chinese cuisine would still find the food enjoyable, the dishes had wok chi as Cantonese would say.
Its a long wait for your food but worth the wait by far

Second time eat here, first time food smelled funny and food seems old. I thought I try one more time and unfortunately same issue especially the food smells really funny more so as the first time. I like to give good ratings, but the food just really smells funny and steamed rice tasted really old.
The food here brings back the local-girl in mekickin it in Honolulu with a plate-lunch at Rainbow Diner! Hands down the best Ramen noodles and Wonton this side of Hawaii !

Best Chinese food in Oroville. Not a place youd want to take your girlfriends mom unless she understands, it is about the FOOD. Not the atmosphere. Very friendly staff and servings are plentiful. Cant say enough good about it.

I absolutely love this place. Uncle pings is a great price for the amount of food you get. I went for the mid-day steam table,ordered the beef and broccoli,and peppered pork with steam rice. One of the best Chinese restaurants in Butte County. No frills with the decor but the food is amazing. Very clean! A lunch buffet style is a great bargain. Only open till 7pm. Tuesdays through Saturdays
Pings has great food and excellent service. Safe and clean environment. Love the Hunan beef and fried cream cheese won ton. Fried prawns are delicious but order early or theyll be gone.
Ordered the Kung Pao chicken a couple weeks ago; it might as well have been zucchini and peanut soup, there was more soupy sauce than anything else. Had to pick around to even find pieces of chicken. Which is very disappointing, since the first time a I had this place a couple years ago it was actually good.
We love Uncle Pings. The food and service are always great. Tonight I ordered the Braised Green Beans for the first time and they were so good! They even called me to let me know our order was ready. I dont know anyone else that does that!

I may have went at the wrong time of the day, but restaurants should not have a wrong time of day, as with every chinese food place in Oroville has a strange taste (except for panda express). I am a big fan of chinese food, however Oroville has a curse or something.. sorry to the owners, but i couldnt let this one be ignored

I ordered a beef curry for dine-in when I got there. They brought my food out fairly quickly, but it wasnt as spicy as I expected it to be, given it has the word curry in the name. I probably wouldve had a better meal if I had ordered something else, but unfortunately what I got was okay at best. If I ever order from here again, Im probably am going to do takeout. While I may be full from my portion, I feel kinda let down.
Went here for a quick bite to eat before the theater which is just on the opposite corner. It is good tasting food and not to costly. I ordered crab ragoon and a tasty chowmain. Service was quick and friendly.
We had vegetable chow mein and it was nice, not too slick with oil. The vegetable fried rice tasted burnt, but the server was super nice about it. He asked how everything was, so I had to tell him, and he took it off the check, a very nice gesture, but not what I was asking for. I wouldnt have complained, only he asked. Since we had such fine service, well go back.
My husband and I absolutely love their food and selections to choose from, staff is very friendly. My husband keeps trying new dishes every time we go, would love to eat there every week!!
Havent ate here since they changed owners until a few days ago. Uncle pings food has gotten much better since. A lot better than tong fong low now. I ordered the wor wonton soup and house special chow fun. Comes in big portions and tastes great!
Food is delicious but you have to call your order in an hour before you want it. There is no indoor dining yet and it literally takes an hour before your food is ready after you order it.
Big meal, foods good, David is always uplifting when we speak. Im a local he treats everyone great. And they have fast service. Oh ya price is right. Great value for your buck
Excellent Chinese food and the owner and staff are very friendly and accommodating. There are a few tables to eat in but if you are ordering takeout call ahead. Service was actually pretty fast considering there was quite a few people there.
THE County SHUT THIS RESTAURANT DOWN just last year. I paraphrase from the Inspectors comments. “Huge tubs of cooked noodles were placed in the unfinished basement at room temperature.” “The fridge temperature was 60 degrees, and the freezer was 45. The fridge is supposed to be 41 and the freezer much colder. But these were HOUSE Fridges and freezers. You can read the comments and the dozens of violations of keeping food at room temperature on the butte county website. When the owner washed his hands in front of the inspector, he didn’t use soap. Would be willing to delete reviews if owner made it right to me.

The guy taking the orders (head guy I assume) made rude comments and treated my elderly friend who is hard of hearing very badly, took 30min to get 3 plates for take-out. Just an all around bad time. Will never go there again.
Owner Lied in Response to My Review. There is no way to edit my review so I have to leave a new one. The owner would not let me use the restroom without buying something even though I order frequently. After leaving this review he said in response that he tried to tell me where the bathroom is. He did not mention that he was pointing me to the drug infested public bathrooms and it was very dark. Uncle Ping should seriously consider the lost opportunity cost in bad public relations of not allowing a regular customer to use the bathroom. And also leaving an unprofessional misleading response that ends with “Thanks for not listening.” You are the one that does not care about hospitality and it being totally dark and late at night.

Food was nothing special and pricey...if you buy the meal you have to purchase an egg roll seperately, it doesnt come with the meal :-(The location is small, however, it was clean and the people were nice. The wait was typical.
Its a limited size restaurant but the food is perfect for on the go. Definitely order Take-our when you visit. Its good chinese food. I would put it in a totally different category than Tong Fong Low.

2023-03-25 01:26:50I came in for dinner today and although they were busy they were able to take everybody’s orders quickly. A few customers in front of me ordered $180 worth of Chinese food. And they ended up closing 30 minutes early to be able to finish all of the orders on time.With that being said, though prices are within reasonable price. It does appear that prices have gone up a little bit in March. But what prices haven’t gone up in this economy.Highly recommend if you’re looking for really good tasting authentic Chinese food. I especially recommend their lunch combo which is serve Monday through Friday 11 AM to 2 PM. You can either get combo A for $9.50, combo B for $11.50, or Combo C for $14.50.It didn’t appear that there was an updated menu online, so see pictures below for most updated menu (3/25/2023).

2023-07-21 06:55:53Some of the best food Ive ever had in Oroville let alone asian food wise. I will drive all the way from paradise just to get take out from here. Salt and pepper pork chops are my personal favorite, I could eat two full orders alone, but everything is amazing. Dine in options vary depending on how busy or late it is but food is always great. They have different lunch special combos that come with great deals. Parking is in a public lot across the street and is usually pretty open with plenty of spaces. Also right in the downtown area, lot of historic buildings all around and cool shops as well. Highly recommend.

Have enough leftover for a second meal easily. Worth every penny. Inside the restaurant is hot so we opted to eat at home. Staff was very nice and quick to say hello.

Only reason they got 3 stars was i dined in and they served us on very wastful styrofoam plates and plastic forks! Step it up guys for a 5 star rating!Still the best Chinese food in Oroville. Still the same problem with the Styrofoam. My food went into the box so hot it melted the box! Why dont you use traditional Chinese take-out style boxes!?

Curry, soups, rice, noodles, and vegetarian options too. No sushi, unfortunately.Dinner combos are a good deal. Choose one entree and theyll serve it up with a side of fried rice and some chicken chow mein.They have a steam table for lunchtime--somewhat like Panda Express, where you choose rice or noodles and 1, 2 or 3 entrees.My favorite thing here is the definitely the chow mein. These noodles ARE the best in town, and Ive tried them all.
