This was our first time at United Dumplings. Just a few minutes walk from our Airbnb, so we decided to try it out.We ordered the Sautéed Pea Shoots, Xiao Long Bao, Spicy Sichuan Wonton, and the Seafood Stir Fried Noodles. The food was excellent, and the service was great.

There was no wait when we came for Saturday lunch. There was indoor and outdoor seating available. Food was tasty and service was okay. We ordered dan dan noodles, XLB, dumpling Mac and cheese; I would recommend the cucumber and Grandmas pot stickers. Would love to try more dishes next time.

The best dumpling place in SF when considering value as a function of price and quality. The menu has less items than some of the other bigger name places, but they have the classics i crave and the items they do have are spot on (all the dishes, not just dumplings).My typical order consists of XLB, Spicy wontons, green beans and usually a noodle and meat dish.P.s. if you think a delicate and thin XLB skin is a sign of skill, they don’t get more delicate than here.

OMG they definitely have the best dumplings wontons and Xiao Long Bao! Soooooo juicy and don’t break easily. Absolutely recommend. Sorry it’s too delicious that we were too focused on eating and forgot to take pics of food.

Just have to say that the food was scrumptious!Ordered dumplings, potstickers and the famous Dan Dan noodles, finished off with the sesame balls with red bean paste.The atmosphere and the service, both were amazing.This one should be on your must visit list!

After seeing the super sized XLB soup dumpling all over social media, I had to come check this place out! We tried the spicy Sichuan pork dumplings, mushroom truffle dumplings, grandmas traditional pot stickers, beef noodle soup and the pea shoots.My favorite was actually the beef noodle soup, the broth had just the right hint of chili oil and it reminded me of similar soups in Taiwan.The spicy Sichuan dumplings themselves were not bad, I wish they had more chili oil and a little less soy sauce. We could barely taste the truffle in the other dumplings. Pot stickers had a fabulous crispy golden crust. Pea shoots were fresh and crunchy!Overall its a nice homestyle dumpling spot with decent prices, also excited to see lots of vegetarian options available so well be back whenever we have vegetarian friends visiting in town.

We really loved United Dumplings! Cute place with a lovely little outdoor parklet. The service was super fast, friendly, and attentive.Food was really solid! Good to great flavors, nice presentation, generous servings.Some of our favorites:String beans: super yummy, rich flavors, lightly crunchy texture, just yum!Crispy silken tofu: sooo pillowy soft and tender in this really thin delicate fried shell. The sauce was banging.Xiao long bao: probably the most brothy Xiao long bao Ive ever had. So juicy! I will say not the best broth Ive had, but still really good. Could use a bit more flavor for my preference.Dan dan noodles: yummy! Not much more to say, cool silky noodles, delicious meaty sauce, crunchy peanuts, just good!Bulgogi dumplings: Dumplings texture was so good. Really soft, perfect filling amount.Least favorite:Chili wontons:. Just a bit boring, which is surprising. Ive had this dish many places and this was one of the most mild Ive ever tried. No heat at all, very little chili flavor, that smokiness you expect, just a bit bland.Turkey shrimp dumplings:. Probably just personal preference on this one. Weve never had anything like it so had to try, but just did not like at all. I tried it with several sauces trying to improve the flavor but it was a big no for me. The texture was good though, super juicy and tender filling.

I had dined in at this restaurant before and had a decent experience—good food, although a bit on the expensive side, and decent service. However, my recent take-out experience was far from satisfactory.I arrived 10 minutes before the pick-up time, and they told me to wait. Twenty minutes later, I was still waiting. I grew suspicious when I saw them bringing out other orders, none of which were mine. When I started checking the names on the bags, I found out my order had actually been ready for a while, just sitting there getting cold and soggy. When I pointed this out, the waiter just shrugged and walked away.Adding insult to injury, the bag didn’t include any napkins, utensils, soy sauce, or chili oil. My $100 went to waste on a meal that was both cold and soggy by the time I got it.The most baffling part? The restaurant was far from busy. Only four tables were occupied, so it’s not like they were swamped and mistakes could be easily forgiven.All in all, I would say save yourself the disappointment and get your dumplings somewhere else.

Far and away the best dining experience Ive had in my life, in terms of both food and service. Steven is the man! Somehow he knew what we wanted before we even knew it ourselves. I came here two days in a row, and I would have gone for a third if I was still in the city. To rank what I tried:1. Pork Xio Long Bao (XLB)- Very flavorful broth with a delicate dumpling casing. Texturally, they are super fun to eat. This is my new death row meal. Soy/vinegar/garlic sauce adds nice contrast to the rich broth.2. Chicken Wings- These wings had an incredible batter that was shatteringly crispy and coated with the perfect amount of a sweet and tangy sauce. The meat was very tender and moist. These are probably the best wings Ive ever had in my life. Dipping sauces would be a nice add.3. Dan Dan Noodles- Crazy al dente noodles with a nutty, spicy sauce. Lots of garlic, onion and sesame flavor. Only would have liked more greens.4. Chicken XLB- See pork xlb review. The broth is not as rich, and the meat is not as satisfying, but these are still excellent.5. Szechuan Dumplings- Great flavor and texture from the green onion and peanuts with the classic numbing Szechuan spice. Would have maybe liked more heat.6. Scallop Chicken XLB- The sea flavors of the scallop and roe paired perfectly with the savory chicken and broth. The chili sauce, reminiscent of gochujang, completes the dish.7. Potato Salad- Raw potatoes julienned with a vinegar/soy sauce, chili flake, and green onion. Great with a Sapporo (or four), nice palate cleanser. Crisp and tangy.8. Sesame Red Bean Balls- These taste fresh out of the fryer, with an awesome donut aroma. Intensely crisp and nutty exterior with a sweet and chewy mochi interior. Great way to end a meal, not too sweet or overwhelming.9. Bulgogi Dumplings10. Curry Fried Rice- Good yellow curry flavor but in serious need of more heat. Rice was perfectly dry. The sweetness of the peas and pineapple were a solid pair with the savory rice and chicken. A chili sauce would have been a great addition.Server Steven is who I want to be when I grow up. Very funny and open, the experience he created around the excellent food was a major highlight of my trip. Very grateful! And the prices are insanely modest. I would recommend United Dumplings to anyone.

Similar to the other reviews, the food was tasty and enjoyable but there was nothing spectacular or remarkable about the food.The service was excellent given the circumstances.We loved the soft and crunchy tofu appetizer. It was a good balance of flavor.The skin for the Scallop and Chicken Bao was much thicker than we were expecting, especially for a Xiao Long Bao. It was more closer to a potsticker skin.The hot tea add-on was nice and aesthetic but it quickly turned bitter so we didnt enjoy as much of it as we liked.Next time we might decide to try more of the dumpling dishes given that they might be more known for those.Overall it was a good experience. A little on the pricier side but theres not many other Asian options in that area. Maybe when indoor dining opens, we wont have to worry about the tumbling of the buses to bother us.

The xiaolongbao tasted sour. I was genuinely surprised because I’ve never had this happen before. My friend and I ordered to go and ate them immediately after a short drive back to her place, so there was no time for them to spoil, as they were still hot. Can’t really comment on the service, since we didn’t dine in, but the wait time for pick-up was reasonable. This place is popular due to reels on social media that promote the giant xiaolongbao, but I wasn’t impressed and wouldn’t go out of my way to return.

All three dishes were amazing, but I loved the Hand Pulled Noodles the most. The hot and spicy oil was 👌 with the caramelized ground pork with bok choy and peanut! The texture was off the hook and the taste kept me going for more.The kbbq beef dumplings with the sweet vinegar sauce over it had the perfect umami and salty taste. The mission chicken Potstickers came with hella good sauce to dip in. We finally got to try out the new dumpling place in Bernal Heights, and it did not disappoint! We took advantage of the San Francisco Restaurant Week special, which gave us a wide variety and tons of food for $40.The string beans were outstanding, the spring rolls were tasty and the dumplings were really good, but the star was the seafood stir fried noodles. It was flavorful, packed with lots of fish and shrimp and will definitely be on our shortlist now.Only disappointment in the restaurant week offer was the lack of their signature Xiao Long Bao (XLB) dumplings. Guess we’ll have to come back soon to try them out!(We decided to eat at home due to the weather plus COVID, so excuse the not so glamorous pics of takeout boxes!)

I’ve been twice this week-the flavor and texture of the dumplings is incredible. Now, I think these folks are overwhelmed with orders and have a little trouble managing the takeout, and I hope they straighten it out because their food is simple and the vibe is unpretentious and I’d like to see this place flourish-hence the five stars. The grandmas pork dumplings and beef and celery dumplings were delicious-the flavors are rich, deep, and satisfying and the various accompanying sauces are unique-they have an edge over the typical dipping sauces. The sautés string beans are tender but still crisp tossed in a lightly salty, umami sauce-delicious. Spring rolls were crisp, and not greasy. I really enjoyed the food though nothing in particular stood out. I was looking for solid comfort food on Lunar New Year and this place absolutely hit the spot. The pickup was very convenient - they list your name on a board if your food is ready to go so theres no need to constantly check or crowd around the door. Theres only street parking but its not generally a hard area to park in during COVID times.They do have this unique item (sorry, no photos) of a giant soup dumpling that you can use a straw to drink out of. Its a bit of novelty and worth trying out once. I prefer the smaller/regular sized soup dumplings.

Delicious dumplings, though in pandemic conditions hard to translate to a takeout format - after even a few minutes theyre not as tender as they would have been out of the steamer. Still, flavors are lovely and the sauces are great, and the outdoor seating would work better.[Edit: went back and ate there, and fresh out of the steamer the xiaolongbao are indeed tender and delightful. Also the vegetable dumplings are full of actual perfectly-cooked vegetables, which was a pleasure.]

I ordered the sechuan Dan Dan noodles to go and was very disappointed. There was a miniscule amount of the ingredients listed on the menu. Barely any bok choy and no carmelized pork to be seen. The sauce, which comes separately, tasted delicious but it was not hot and there was not enough of it to properly cover the noodles. I had to add a lot of chili oil and mustard just to get enough flavor. Very disappointing experience

Updating my review to warm people against the lamb dish. It used to be one of our favorites, but last Sunday it was overcooked and dry. We complained and were given a replacement, but it was no better than. The first one. Very disappointing for the Cortland location.So glad this place opened in my hood during the pandemic! Authentic dim sum and decent prices. Take out is great, but in house dining is best for warmer food. Reasonable prices too!

A very cool addition to Bernal Heights. The dumplings are unique and satisfying. The restaurant is female-owned. It can get packed on a weekday night as the inside space is not large, and sometimes its too cold to hang out outside in Bernal.SHREDDED POTATO SALADI love a good, raw, shredded, crunchy potato salad. They do a great job with it doused in a Sichuan peppercorn chili oil thats not too heavy on the Sichuan peppercorn.CRUNCHY SHRIMP TOASTNow this is a standout. The toast is on a Chinese donut which creates a unique mix of savory and sweet. It is INDULGENT so make sure to split with a friend.SCALLOP AND CHICKEN BAOMy go-to. theyre big and plump and juicy. I typically do take out but ate inside once and it was such a homey, lovely atmosphere. The service was wonderful.Now the food. The food! For a new dumpling place it is honestly delicious. The chicken scallop bao is something I’m dream about. Grandma is potstickers makes me wish she was my grandma. The soup dumplings are incredible. I’m on my 10th or so order and it’s consistently tasty, fresh, and hits the spot.Don’t skip the cold shredded potato salad because it is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever tasted. I’m a little worried posting this online because I’m scared I’m going to lose my favorite spot due to business, but they deserve to grow. It’s an 11/10 to me.

A friend recommended this place the other day and said I have to try the wings so I did. They were nice and crispy but the flavor was so uncreative. They tasted very Panda Express but not as good. The garlic pea shoots are my usual favorite at a more traditional Chinese restaurant and I typically like the smaller ones but they served the larger ones here and they came out what seemed to be fresh off the wok but were not as hot as they should be. Barely steaming but the flavor was good. The final dish was the turkey and jumbo shrimp dumplings. Interesting combo so had to try. These were ok. I didn’t like how they left the tails on and it was sticking out of the dumpling. Also, these were shrimps not jumbo shrimps (prawns). I had a pot of jasmine tea with my meal. Nice pot which kept the tea hot. I needed that because they left both front doors open when it was 50 degrees outside. Should have just sat outside.

The food was fantastic, everything Ive had here is really good. No matter what you order, you cant go wrong. Service was quick and efficient. This isnt a place to linger for a while after eating, besides people are waiting :) its pretty loud and at times we couldnt hear each other speak so if you want to hang out after eating, go find a quiet bar. But definitely check them out. The food is great, prices are reasonable, and service is fantastic!

Stopped by here after an appointment at New Wheel. Decided to give it a try. My partner and I were blown away how good the food is. The server was funny, cracking jokes while taking our order. I have been to many dumpling shops and was looking forward to trying this place based on good reviews. When we arrived, the host/waiter was extremely rude and difficult to work with. He started walking away before we finished our order, and when we tried to call him back, he ignored us and we ended up not receiving our whole order. The soup and skin of the soup dumplings were decent, but the overall flavor was quite bland. We tried a few other dumplings that were equally underwhelming. The only good menu item was Grandma’s Dumplings, but we will not be returning mainly due to the horrible service.

Everything was tasty and the food came out so quickly in spite of the soft opening. Dan Dan noodles were perfect level of spice for me (maybe I wanted them a little less cooked), tofu had my fav pepper-salt seasoning, shrimp turkey dumplings plus the pea shoots were excellent and I would get again. Relaxed, cute hole in the wall dumpling joint with amazing staff and even more amazing food. Fast service, and super awesome staff. Stephen was particularly great. I had a make-up emergency and he saved me with lovely scented clean wipes and extra napkins. Foreword: This is my first experience eating xlb and shanghainese food in SF and my experience comes from NYC food.TL;DR review: My group and I were not happy with the food aside from the dan dan noodles. the xlb were lacking in meat flavor and we left hungry after spending quite a bit.My group and arrived at 6pm on a Tuesday with no wait and the staff was nice enough to let us in without a reservation. Ordered their pork, chicken, and jumbo xlb, potstickers, dan dan noodles, and chicken wings.The xlb were quite disappointing - size was smaller than expected and the pork and chicken tasted the same. Dan dan noodles were lightly spicy which was not what we expected and the others were average. The jumbo xlb were an experience, but we were not warned of a 20-25 minute wait time (leading to some frustration) and it was lacking soup.Staff was very attentive and nice. Food-wise however, we ended up having to get food after, which was disappointing. Our expectations may have been misplaced due to what were used to, but it did not turn out well.

Ive been looking forward to trying out this place since I saw it featured in Eater SF and I finally had the chance to go this past weekend with a friend. It was certainly worth the wait and did not disappoint! Indoor seating is currently unavailable due to the pandemic, but there are a few tables set up outside. Due to the line of people, however, and the proximity to the sidewalk (albeit there was not much foot traffic), my friend and I decided just to do takeout, which was a seamless experience as the staff was very friendly and patient - as an added bonus, they had hand sanitizer available. We ended up getting an order of Sichuan Dan Dan noodles each (sooo good and I cant wait to have them again) and then sharing Spicy Sichuan Wonton in Red Oil (my second favourite item of the day), Korean BBQ Beef Dumplings, and Mission Chicken Pot Stickers. The latter two items were good as well, but I may skip them the next time Im in in order to try something new. Highly recommend and cant wait to be back for more!

Love the fried rice and the dumpling. Its fresh and tasty yummy I prefer the smaller/regular sized soup dumplingsreally enjoyed the food. We sat out side and it accomedated five of us. They list your name on a board if your food is ready to go so theres no need to constantly check or crowd around the door. I used to really like this place since the food is decent but recently they raised the prices of the food here (example fried tofu was $6 a month ago now its $9) and they seem to be taking advantage of customers during the inflation crisis, I get they don’t get any competition in Bernal Heights due to them being the only Asian restaurant there, but since they seem to be playing greedy, I will no longer be spending my money here, United dumplings should be ashamed of the price hike and I hope that this business loses customers to the upcoming Chinese restaurant opening in the neighborhood soon!
