We just came back from a date night at Unwind and I can say without a doubt that its our new favorite spot! The food was AMAZING (Cauliflower, Caprese Salad, Brussel Sprouts & Cheese Plate). The presentation was beautiful. The wine was delicious and the service was PERFECT! I can literally think of nothing bad to say about this place. We went tonight so it was a Saturday (they have live music Friday & Saturday) and the music was great! The vibe was amazing and it was everything weve been looking for in a near by date night spot. They do brunch so we will definitely come back to try that, and bring the kids for it! Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

Overall a good experience. Tucked away in the back of a strip mall, cool vibe and ambience with a lounge like feel. Good selection of wine. We ordered mostly small plates. Pate was very good and the fig and Bleu was delicious. Mussels were pretty good and the wings and develed eggs were good but nothing special. Would probably go back to try some other dishes

The food is great for LA standards.The waitress had an attitude about each item we would request, that being a straw or salt & pepper.NOW... We were there for my partners birthday. They did not bring her anything sweet at the end to celebrate her... however the other waiter was indulging himself a beautiful desert when we left and had the audacity to tell her happy birthday in between two bites of his decadent desert. No no no... that is too much!

Great experience here! I came when they opened around 430pm. Prompt service, kind greetings, great thorough service throughout my meal & dessert and I was greeted and asked “how everything” was by a manager! I loved my pretty drink🍹🌸🍓 pretty is always good! Nice mood music as well, lovely vibe & setting outside and inside, I’ll return to see how the night time vibe is, I imagine it’s just as pleasant! A lot of string lights & greenery outside! I like all those pretty cute things! 🎀☀️🌸🙂 I even met the owner in the bathroom! Lovely lady! Girl power!The chocolate ball for dessert was cool, as in its presentation, it was small, but still yummy!Thank you!

This place has been on my list for months. I couldnt wait to take myself on a date here. Alas, I would have expected this wine bar to be excited about wine and food pairings, to make it a focal point of the experience. That is not what this place is about.Pros:-This place gets an A+ for decoration. The place looks romantic when you walk in. Feels romantic.-Good house chardonnay-food menu has nice selectionCons:-I got the this is a business and could be any other type of restaurant and we dont particularly treasure food or wine here vibe.-The music was annoying. It was kind of like the music you hear at The Habit while you wait a burger: overplayed pop. The decor caters to a more sophisticated crowd so it just seemed out of place. Piano music or jazz would have been a nice choice. I got the sense they were trying to appeal to young people.-I ordered a house chardonnay which was good but it was served warm (!) in a chilled glass. Not to be dramatic but the combination was almost startling...I would have preferred a cold chardonnay in a room temp glass. Im not sure if he thought the cold glass was sufficient to cool down the wine but it was just odd. Hes lucky I tend to prefer my wine a bit warmer because it brings out the flavor more but this was too warm. Room temp.-As far as food, I ordered the mushroom flatbread and it was absolutely drenched in balsamic which is ok (usually yum!) except that mushrooms release a lot of water when they cook down, so the middle of the flat bread was very soggy. It interfered with the flavor of the carmelized onions, too.-I usually give poor service a bit of a pass because it is understandable that your server is human and may have had an off night but I was disappointed. I didnt get even one sentence of orientation on the menu. I asked for a house white and the server didnt ask me for clarification on what type of white. I had to ask for the happy hour menu (I only knew about it because I checked online). I wanted to order another glass before happy hour ended but alas, 15 min and I couldnt get the attention of any staff. The place was not busy.Take away: I would rather go to St. Augustine. They set the bar too high. Sorry guys. Step up.

Received food and had food poisoning for two days. Called the manager in regards to this and never received a call back from the owner.I understand things happen but this is serious when I comes to the food business. Other than that food tasted great but the handling of the situation has been poor.😞😞😞Lovely place with a great cozy atmosphere!Loved the pianist as the music is always nice.

The wine bar/restaurant is in a small strip mall. The decor is cool but its eerily quiet even when full. The food was ok. Not good, just ok. We ordered the bone marrow, brussel sprouts (overloaded with cheese) meat/cheese plate (skimpy), burrata/heirloom salad (tomato stacked with small amount of burrata in between) a few other things and the skirt steak. The skirt steak says it has a peppercorn sauce but it was covered in a weird cream sauce like a bechamel. I would not visit again based on the food. Also note, no liquor. Beer, wine and soju only.

The food and service was really nice. The staff were happy to accommodate my party with a larger table (we were planning to order a lot of small plates). We ordered just about every sharable there and they were fantastic. Their wine list was not large but others in my party seemed to enjoy what was offered. The atmosphere was on par with what you would expect. Dim lights, soft music, a good place for a date or a party. We will be returning soon for drinks and small plates at the bar.

First time to eat or drink here. Service and staff were very good and friendly. Atmosphere was great. Love the decor. We ate several small plates, salad and various main dishes. Everything was excellent. Our plates were eaten clean. Good flavors, good portions. Nice drink and wine menu too. I will go back again .

The eggrolls were very ordinary, nothing special, but I liked the garlic shrimp appetizer. My friend and I had two glasses of house wine each. I didnt care for the red blend. The server had a good personality and was efficient, but what I am very upset about is that I was unknowingly charged 18% tip just for me! They dont tell you, and they dont even circle it. I was in a hurry to leave, so I didnt notice the $7.56 tip added to my half of the bill. I had already tipped her $10.00, so she got $17.56 tip on a $50 check!! This place is a hole in the wall, right on a parking lot with plastic flowers as decorations. This is the second time Ive been there, and been overbilled! With the endless dining choices along Ventura Blvd and in the valley overall, why patronize this place? Ill never return.

Food is not very good. My wife ordered a Vegan Pho. The first ingredient is tofu. When we complained that there was no tofu in it, they responded that they were out of Tofu. No apology and still charged us full price.

Being born and raised in the Valley, there is a lot to do and never a shortage restaurants. From American, French, to Mexican there seems to be one in every corn. With so many choices, getting to the right restaurant might be hard. Walking into Unwind it had a very intimate feeling, which me and friends loved. The staff is friendly, and gave my friend’s and I an amazing experience. We started with the prosciutto pizza and wings, the pizza was like no other pizza I have ever tasted. The crust was a little crunchy, and the toppings tasted fresh and flavorful. The wings were also pretty good, the quality is definitely there. For my entree I got the steak, I asked for it to be cooked medium. Compliments to Chef, it was cooked to perfection. My Unwind experience was amazing, and I will be going back very soon. My first experience may have made me a regular, and will be definitely be checking out the happy hour menu on my next visit. Unwind isn’t the biggest, but who needs the space when the food is that amazing!!!

We had a great time here last night. I looked it up on yelp, as we live in Burbank, but needed to meet our friends in Tarzana. I would call this a very good wine bar that is also a restaurant with fantastic food. Really delicious burgers and fries. The prices are a bit high, but you definitely get what you pay for. Big wine selection and they will let you taste before you decide. Really lovely service. Charming decor. I did think the music was a little loud when I first walked in, but then realized it was fine after we sat down. Highly recommend for a cozy evening with friends.

The place was crowd and the food smelled good, but cant speak on it much since we didnt eat. Location was in strip mall, so either blah or suppose to be unassuming.

Delicious food in a nice, elegant ambiance. The prosciutto pizza is the best Ive ever had and the creamy, cheesy Brussels sprouts were amazing, as well. I brought my two year old son there and although it was not at all the appropriate environment for a two year old they were very cordial and respectful and didnt make me feel bad.

Unwind Tarzana is nestled in the corner of an outdoor plaza which also offers outdoor cozy patio dining and free parking. Recently I reserved a party for 12 indoors on a Saturday night (3/27) and was beyond satisfied with the ambiance, live music performed by one of the Best Violinist Ive ever heard in my lifetime! The food was amazing and I ordered almost every appetizer on the menu. My guests are still talking about how delicious the food was and how fast everything came out of the kitchen. We all felt very comfortable indoors. This is not just a Wine Bar...its a party in your mouth experience you dont want to miss out on! I used to live in Tarzana and had visited multiple restaurants on Ventura Blvd...unfortunately,.I missed this little gem although its now under new ownership so it was all about the timing. Speaking of ownership, I met the owner Jamie who was extremely attentive to all of our wants and needs...she even gave us an off the menu appetizer for free. I can sense that she is passionate for making others feel happy which includes her staff. Speaking of the staff...the service was on point all night and they always wore their masks. Everything felt, looked and smelt very clean! The bathroom actually had a mouthwash dispenser...Bonus!Half a dozen of us are planning our return on a Saturday but this next time will be to eat home made PHO which I hear is made by the owner herself who happens to be half Vietnamese! Cant wait! Need I mention the Big Screen TVs above the bar and that the owner paid for the UFC fight for her patrons to watch for free? Due to Covid19 regulations, I strongly suggest making reservations in advance. Otherwise dont complain if you have to wait for seating because the wait will be worth it...guaranteed!

Pros: The food was overall enjoyable-- Brussel sprouts and bruschetta especiallyCons: They were way understaffed and they overcharged us. We waited a long time to be addressed by someone while there were open tables. We waited a long time for all the food to be out (like 90 minutes) so they offered a free dessert as thanks for our patience, and comped two coffees, which would have been nice. But then when the bill came, we were charged for the dessert ($12) and when we pointed this out, they assured us it was just for inventory. When our receipt showed that we were in fact charged an extra $12 and we asked again, they tried to convince us the math was correct (it wasnt). I dont think they were trying to rip us off, but they simply dont know how to comp on their end and dont know their arithmetic.If you dont mind waiting awhile for seating and food, the experience might be enjoyable. Just dont let them offer you a free dessert until they figure out their system.

We had 7:15 (for 6 people) reservations on Saturday night. My husband and I arrived a little early and there was no place to wait. The table was not ready. And didn’t look like it would be ready.I then realized that the table was up high with high chairs. When I asked if there was another table available I was told NO! I explained that the other two ladies had injuries and couldn’t get into the chairs. No one seemed to care.The aisle between the tables was narrow and could not fit a walker or a wheel chair.I’m not sure how this passed ADA inspections.But the attitude of the people working there was rude and unapologetic like we should have known about the table before hand. A fantastic wine bar with reasonable prices and very friendly staff. If you are feeling like a glass of wine, or four, or maybe a bottle, Unwind will not disappoint. Tucked away in an unassuming plaza on the south side of Reseda, Unwind brings a much needed addition to the San Fernando Valley bar scene. In addition to a good wine selection, with rotating and seasonal specials, Unwind also offers small and large plate fare that wont leave you feeling guilty for overspending. This review is not for food, because we did not get to eat.We had reservations for 6 at 7:15pm. One couple arrived early and they were told that the only table was a high-top (which was not ready). 1 person in our party had recently broken her leg so she could not sit at a high top. I had a stroke and cannot safely climb to a high top as well.Additionally, you could not get by the bar and tables with a walker, let alone a wheelchair if needed. And the bar did not have any accessible seating.Nick at the check in was quite unkind, first to the couple who arrived first and then to me. He shrugged his shoulders and pretty much said it sucks to be you. He also said they do not have to have accessible seating at the bar. (which I think you do). He acted like he did not care, he did not say give me a few minutes to see if we can work anything out, or please have a drink while I work on this, or anything else. When we left he did not say I hope we can accommodate you next time, or heres my card, or anything along those lines.We left and went to a nearby restaurant and had a lovely dinner. There was a much better way for him to handle this so we did not leave so upset!!

I wanted to order everything on the menu. we got squash ravioli, which were plump and flavorful, the bone marrow, about a 6 inch bone with amazing flavor that spread like butter on toast, and the escargot, which was typical, but thats exactly what we were looking for. We also ended the night having a bite of tiramisu, in house made and delicious. we washed it down with a btl of Ned Sav blanc and our bill after tax and tip was $100 .The staff was friendly and the ambiance was relaxing and not too loud. I would definitely recommend it and will be back.

Unwind is one of our favorites in Tarzana. All the way from the intimate ambiance to tasty food, and the wine. The house cab never fails so we never need to chose. Everything weve had has been good. Some are the mac n cheese, ahi tuna tartar tacos, devilled eggs with prosciutto balsamic, and kobi beef hamburgers, and the salmon. Most of the time we share, and one thing I like for myself is the marrow with bone appertizer.
