So good I got the smothered steak with a side of Mac n cheese and a pink lemonade recommend all of it! The staff is really great and lively, especially Jamal was super cool.
I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and met Jamal, who is friendly and hospitable. I ordered the Beans & Rice Bowl with chicken, and it was so good! I definitely want to return and try the 1945 Spooners Bowl (vegetables), the Urban Corn and the Fried Tacos. The cuisine is Mexican-Caribbean fusion.
Someone mentioned this restaurant on Next Door, I got the Cajun shrimp taco ala Carte for $6, and steak Taco, side order of the lime cilantro riceI got it to go, great ambience, mellow jazz, good service, everything you would expect in a quality restaurant, will be going again, near Empress Theater on Virginia and Marin StreetOh did i say the food was delicious 😉
All my family and friends have enjoyed wonderful meals and the gracious ambience of Urban Cocina. It is a jewel in the local food scene.There’s nothing on the menu that we wouldn’t recommend. We have sampled almost everything and never had a bad meal.
This restaurant has very friendly and kind staff that seem to really care about their customers needs. I had a wonderful time talking with Jamal as my server he was awesome! The food is also super delicious!!! Cant recommend this place enough!

Local restaurant that serves great food. The chicken tortilla soup and a side pork belly taco are delicious.The owners were friendly, and proud of their fare, as they should be. Just an enjoyable experience all the way around.
I have something different every time I visit, and each time the flavors hit my pallet in a pleasing way. I especially enjoy the variety of taco options and the Urban Fried rice. The Urban grilled corn is also yummylicious!
We had an amazing meal here last night. Vegan rice bowl, Thai Curry and tortilla soup. It was all delicious and so flavorful!
I ate there for the Grand Opening. Shrimp tacos were excellent, juicy & tasty! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Looking forward in going again. Red wine (E40) was great as well.

I met the owner and her friend after they closed. We talked they are super nice so I know the service is awesome and I’m betting the food is super good I’ll let y’all know later but I’d recommend y’all check em out

They played a couple songs to help me celebrate my birthday (we didnt ask, the gentleman just saw my friend give me flowers). This was June so I dont remember what we ordered, but there were 3 of us and all got different things. The waiter helped us with our decisions including finding me an excellent gluten free option.

The types of foods are an electic mix of Caribbean, California, and Mexico. The food is fresh and authentic and full of flavor. I would savory every bit of morsel in my mouth as my sense of taste created a picturesque feeling of a bit of heavenly goodness. The restaurant has a warm an inviting atmosphere. You can have a cocktail nestled by the fireplace looking out the window gazing at the artistic views of downtown. The chef is exciting and innovative and is always creating another masterpiece. This place reminds me of cocinas I have visited during my visit to Mexico and Cuba. Next time you are out and want to try a new restaurant, then go ahead and give this place a visit.

They did not offer a refund or credit towards another item when I shared my feedback.I had the lava cake and ice cream, it was absolutely delicious HOWEVER, these cakes ARE NOT baked fresh daily. They’re store bought frozen, then baked. They’re not baking cakes from scratch like our Grandma used to do, but they’re decent :-)Service was good and the ladies were super nice. Atmosphere is welcoming!!

Pretty disappointed that without the additional cost of the eggs it costs $22 for one piece of toast with avo…… haven’t been here for months and I love the portion sizes and food but shocked at this portion and cost for one piece of toast……… eggs were perfect cooked but more toast would’ve been great.

2023-07-09 04:31:50This food is incredible. I had the chicken curry, superb. The mayacoba beans over the lime rice are always fantastic. We also had a birria steak burrito and shrimp tacos. All noteworthy. The warm, house made brownies with ice cream were.the perfect finish. Absolutely a repeatable meal!

The potato taco was out of this world, and the rice and beans were really delicious! The owners were friendly and fun to converse with. We will definitely be visiting again and again!!

2023-05-27 03:32:26I had the vegetable curry and it was absolutely delicious. This was a great new spin on a traditional dish that even included pineapple! What a great surprise because I love sweet and savory. They added just the right amount of spice and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. I literally ate the entire plate which is something I never do.
