Thanksgiving turkey dinner. Meal was perfect. The turkey was savory and moist. Very flavorful. Desserts were great. I recommend the hummingbird cake if you are a carrot cake fan (its not carrot cake though). Everyone there was very helpful and nice and wanted to make sure our meal was perfect.

It’s Panera, but healthier. It’s like a lot of other places you can go for fast, casual and healthy. But you can dial down the healthiness if you want with some neat sandwich choices, and what appear to be really good looking desserts.Great for kids who are picky and great if you want them to eat healthy as well.The closest comparison I can contemplate would be Flower Child and this is a nice change of pace and compliment. Could it be healthier? I love how they announce how they source ingredients. It’s a great place to check out

My husband and I had a great experience at the Carlsbad location. The manager, Manny, is a very nice and personable guy whose top priority is the guest experience. The food was hot and fresh. I like how there are so many different protein and options so you can literally get a different meal every time you’re at urban plate. We got chicken tenders and chimichuri steak and both were flavorful and cooked well. Staff were nice and welcoming, will definitely be back to this location.

First time eating here yesterday and it was AMAZING! We had the steak, chimichurri steak, mashed potatoes, sesame broccolini, and brussel sprouts. So much flavor in the best way. The manager was super attentive and it was great being able to chat with him about our experience. Certainly adding to our restaurant rotation!

My friend and I went here for a little lunch date and received the most amazing food. The grilled chicken club was a perfect lunch, as well as the ahi tuna salad! There was great service, the food barely taking anytime to come. Shoutout to Manny, who was an amazing server making sure our food was exactly what we wanted.

My family and I have been loyal fans of Urban Plates for a long time, and our recent visit to the Urban Plates location in Carlsbad was truly extraordinary. The bright and spacious restaurant exudes a fresh and modern feel and I was thrilled to find my beloved green matcha latte on the menu, and I was delighted to meet the talented Sous Chef, Mathew Konatsu.The encounter with Sous Chef Mathew was absolutely enjoyable. He took the time to personally ensure that our meals were prepared perfectly, and his enthusiasm always was infectious. We appreciate his genuine interest in our dining experience and his willingness to answer our questions about the menu.

This place is nothing short of a blessing. When you are short on time, but want to make sure that you are not cheating yourself with the normal fast food joints, you can not get good food fast. All items are prepared from scratch and offer that good home cooking taste, you get, when making it yourself (for those of you that know how to cook), or someone, who cares fixes you a plate.This place has become a fast favorite amongst my kids, when I suggest we may not have time to cook, due to schedules. Did I mention that their pricing is good too; you can get a quality meal for the same if not better pricing thanyou get by going through your local drive thru.My only want from them is that they have more convenient locations. They are about 15 miles from my house, but worth getting creative on the way home to shave off a little distance.

I’m continually impressed by how many options Urban Plates has and the quality of the food on top of it all. It’s really easy to eat healthy or more homey here, and to order a new grouping of food every time you’re there. I’ve always walked in and ordered, but it appears that they have some way to order ahead that may be quicker to get your food. Either way, they have excellent seating options in side with plenty of room to work or meet with others over a meal.

This place was amazing in every way.The customer service was fabulous and we let them know it was our first time trying their place and the host was kind enough to share additional information about the plates we ordered (A wonderfully hot Surf & Turf with potatoes and asparagus and a very crispy-cold fresh Local mixed beet salad.The place was very clean both inside and out. We chose to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful day. And we were told to leave our plates when we were done that they would be by to clean up. That surprised me. And offering that and to see that they were on top of it.Again, my favorite thing to mention is that they are MILITARY FRIENDLY and give us discounts. I just have to support this place.STOP by. You wont be disappointed.

First time here, food was good and service was fine. But during our visit there was some technical issues which required them stop incoming customers from coming in and we were warned the power may go out during our visit. During the pre shut down the manager was very rude and demeaning to his employees. He told one employee to stay like a dog and to remain in his box of chairs that he created for him. Manager should find a better approach with his employees, I get being stressed in certain situations however your employees deserve better. Aside from the manager the food and atmosphere are good.

We had a wonderful experience here at Urban Plates in Carlsbad. Arlett and the sous chef Mathew were so kind and helpful. My meal wasnt cooked as I requested and they immediately fixed it and came back to make sure it was fixed.As a business owner, I love sharing when I get great customer service and both of them need to get acknowledged.Food was great and I left there with a smile knowing there are people who still care and want to serve at their jobs.Thank you!

I enjoy this place! The food is very tasty, pictured is the vegan meatless loaf with basmati rice and roasted potatoes along with the green mint tea! All very delicious and complimentary to the aesthetic, inviting ambience! I gave it a 4, because the truth is it is expensive, and not affordable for many folks. But, if you can afford to treat yourself, I recommend it! The food feels good and is great quality, which is important considering the prices. But overall, would say it is always a positive experience eating here!

I’ve been coming here for a few years. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and appreciated. Matt, the manager and Arlette, are particularly enthusiastic and kind. The chef also routinely makes the rounds, asking guests how they enjoy their meal. There’s a great meal at a good price for virtually every diet, including my vegan preferences. And the desserts are destination worthy. We often come just for dessert!

I love Urban Plates! I always order from this location since it’s the closest to me. If I can, I would subscribe to a weekly meal delivery! My two favorite items is the Beet Salad with either grilled Salmon (w/ Dijon mustard dressing) or grilled chili glazed Tofu (w/ spicy peanut dressing). My other favorite is the Beef and Mushroom stew with mash potatoes! I could drink that stew all day it’s SOO GOOOD, perfect for dinner and for a hearty warm meal.

This place was an absolute pig stye. If I had looked around before I ordered, I would have walked right back out the door. None of the tables had been bussed and there was no place to sit and wait for the order. I asked someone to clean a table for us and was told that they weren’t serving inside. I asked to speak to the manager, the cashier contacted her on a radio and I was told that someone had already told me that they were not serving inside. We stood around for a few minutes waiting for the order and it never came. I was so creeped out that we just left, without our food. I did grab a few pics of the dining area before we left. I dont eat a lot of salmon, but this grilled salmon was amazing. Great lunch spot. Salads, sandwiches, plates, flatbreads and soups. Really good organic drinks. The salad station can get a little backed up. We waited 4-5 minutes for the proteins after the salads were prepared. Nice outdoor seating when the weather is nice.

Delicious and won’t break the bank! I had the Moroccan chicken braise with rice and my husband had the double cheeseburger. He’s the toughest critic but he really liked the burger. The portion of fries was scant but they were tasty. We ordered a side of brussel sprouts and those lacked salt ( easy fix). My Moroccan chicken dish was delicious- flavorful, and still piping hot even after delivery! This will be one of our usual dinner spots.

What a find! This was my first time at Urban Plates and it definately did not disapoint. The food and the selections are amazing! My grass fed steak with housemade chimichurri sauce was perfectly cooked and flavored. They have a beautiful selection of desserts, I tried the chewy molasses cookie and a bite of my friends strawberry vanilla cake; both delicious! Our beverage of choice was the coconut, mint, passionfruit refresher which was amazing! I cannot wait to return to try more of their fabulous food! The atmosphere was inviting and comfortable and oh so very hip.

Words cannot express the outstanding customer service I received. I had place a catering order for our doctor’s board meeting but realized too late it was the wrong day and the food was delivered. I called Urban plates and spoke with an amazing manager, Manny. I explain my dilemma as I was beside myself. He was so kind and understanding of the error. He told me not to worry, enjoy the food and then he helped me reschedule the food order for the correct day. Not only is the food delicious, but there customer service is Superb! Love the UP concept, simple real ingredients and delicious entrees. When I dont feel like cooking and dont want the guilt of not cooking, we come here because of the multiple veggie options. Our go to order is always the steak with extra chimicurri sauce. The staff is exceptionally friendly, efficient, and courteous. The manager, Manny, was so kind when helping our family. Really good food. Interesting layout with great choices. You no longer serve yourself but order at the cashier. Desserts and beverages also available when you order & pay. Self-seating inside and out w/a nice fire-pit out front. They give you a number on a metal stand that you put on your table and your food is brought to you by a very friendly and helpful waiter or waitress. In general the food is very healthy and the atmosphere is great. All the employees couldnt be nicer, they appear to really enjoy working at this location in the Forum shops. If I could afford it Id eat here everyday.

Staff was incredibly rude. We ordered online and they lost our order. After waiting 30 minutes past our pick up time, we asked about our food. They said they would make it right away, then never came back. 20 minutes later, we asked for a refund, because they still hadn’t gotten us our food. Not a great experience here this evening. We ordered at around 5pm. - at that time, the restaurant had two other tables of four seated inside and two seated outside. So, not busy. First thing to note - if you sit inside, prepare for sensory overload. Extremely loud alarms going off in the kitchen throughout the meal. It took us 20 minutes to get our food. We ordered the double cheeseburger and the moroccan chicken. The cheeseburger was served with cold fries, so we didnt eat them. I ordered avocado on the burger; the avocado was not ripe; it was hard. Cheese on burger was not melted. The bun was cold, as if it had been pulled right from the fridge. The moroccan chicken was lukewarm. We also ordered two desserts - a banana cream pie, which was essentially banana pudding, and a chocolate cake with vanilla icing. The cake was very dry and crumbly. Neither dessert was worth the calories. The only good part of the meal was the drinks we ordered. We wont be back. Was not worth the $55 we spent on this meal.

We came for Thanksgiving lunch. The staff was very friendly, and the thanksgiving plates were delicious. Especially the mushroom dressing hit the spot. Unfortunately, presumably because of the carry out and delivery business, and understandably, the atmosphere was compromised. A large part of the restaurant and staff seemed to be dedicated to fulfilling the carry-out orders. What I dont know is whether this was a unique circumstance due to the Thanksgiving holiday or a sign of the pandemic times. In either case, the quality of the food and the friendly service were worth this minor inconvenience. This is a place where the price is right and the food plentiful. If you like salads,you cant beat it. My favorite item hear is medium rare sliced meat in a sandwich with rustic grilled roll or on a plate with sides. You order, sit where you want, inside or out and enjoy a wonderful meal. There was a couple with their dog that was loudly barking for the entire dining experience. The patio echoed the bark. I ordered 3 meals for a 4 pm pick up. At 4:05 pm I asked if they were running behind. They said take a seat and it will be right out. At 4:20, I asked for an update. No status update given. At 4:25 I asked for a manager. The manager said he couldnt find my fully paid online order and used my phone to write up a new order. I said I was disappointed that 25 minutes were lost getting to this point. He asked how I could be compensated. I told him that he could decide that. Then he told me they did have my order but it was stolen off their rack. Finally, somehow the order magically appeared, either from having been sitting around for at least 30+ minutes getting cold or maybe they whipped it up again (but it was cold so it was sitting around that whole time I think). The manager never did compensate me after I gave him the opportunity to do so. The bread was burned and the food was cold by the time I got home. Also the food leaked and almost fell through the bag but my husband saw it falling apart and warned me before it started falling out the bottom. If I didnt catch it at the last minute I would definitely have given this a one star. They got a lot of work to do to get it together.

I like the food choices and general atmosphere. You can get some healthy salads or complete plates/meals or sandwiches or soups. So far what weve tried has been good. The dangerous things here are the cakes and cookies staring at you while you wait to check out. They look delicious and fun. So if you want to not eat that kind of food and cannot resist, avoid this place. A fun plate choice they have is a 4 sides plate. You can mix and match a bunch of their side dishes. The one negative is the lines when busy. They have three stations, salads, plates and sandwiches. And 2 lines, one for salads, the other for the plates and sandwiches. At busy times they have a person to help out with line organization because the foods are prepared on demand and it takes time so the lines can be long and a little confusing.

I’ve always liked their food and I appreciate their customer service efforts. However, I’ve noticed that for the past couple months, whenever I try to call them and place an order, the phone just keeps ringing and no one picks up the phone. So I would just hang up and keep on calling. I think at one point I called a total of 20 times because I really wanted to grab something for dinner. But yet no response. This continued on for a total of 2 months. The only other option for me would be to stop by and place an order in the restaurant but this place is extremely busy and I’ve seen the lines get long many times. A lot of people get off work and they’re too tired to wait in a line and would much rather place a phone order and quickly pick it up. But in this case, I wasn’t given the option to do that! When customers aren’t able to place phone orders or get ahold of anyone at the restaurant by phone, they will just go to another place and give them their business instead.

I liked everything about this place. I loved the food. The onlysuggestion would be more cashiers. We were there on Monday and Im sure it gets much busier than that. My Family will be back soon, for sure! Food was delicious at a nice price and staff was delightful.

Best restaurant in town! Worth the short wait. Excellent quality. Portions are generous. Salads incredible. Fish always fresh. Baked goods are delicious, especially almond gluten free cookies.

My steak was very cold and the bread was burnt. Overall not worth the price; I was bummed. Their sides are delicious though. And the chocolate chip cookies. Stay away from those cookies. :)

Gosh I love this place so much! You walk out of there super satisfied and with zero guilt trip with what you ate. Salmon and chicken plate are my favorite. The mac and cheese is to die for! Their salads, sandwiches and desserts are super good too!

Overall good did and dining. Portions seem a bit small, but were fine for us. Softdrinks seem not to be refillable. I had the grass fed steak with carrots and broccoli as sides. Good flavor, beef a bit cheery though.

Almost everything on the menu is gluten free, except sandwiches and its all delicious. I go there often because of the great selection and usually order the plates: chicken, steak, osso bucco, salmon, seasonal fish--with two sides. Everything is fresh and plentiful. Today I tried the seafood chowder and will definitely order it again, if they keep it on the menu. With so many protein, vegetable and salad choices, the combinations are endless.
