Great little fast casual american style eatery. Plates, salads, sandwiches and soups with a variety of sides and desserts to complement them. Dedicated Vegan section of the menu and vegetarian protein options. Lots of in door seating choices and a large patio to accommodate groups of various sizes. Great place for a good quick meal.

I love this Urban Plates location!Yes the food is delicious, always fresh and tasty. The portions are pretty substantial. And everything tastes homemade to order.But the real star here is Alex and his team. They are very friendly, remember me and my regular order, and quick to refill iced teas.This is my go to spot when I’m having a tough day at work because I always leave feeling cared for and satiated.Best lunch spot in the area!(Ps: the chicken Cobb sub salmon is a treat!)Updated review 11/6/2023:I came in for my usually Cobb and ice tea in a to-go cup. She put in no bread.When I received my salad it didn’t have the avocado.Had to correct a lot of things.I don’t know if it’s just been a couple bad days or if this is the new norm since the amazing GM Alex left to open a new location…but it was definitely way better when he was here.

We were recently in Manhattan Beach looking for a vegetarian place to eat. Urban Plates were recommended to us. We visited and the food, ambiance, customer service was first class. The management team (chef and manager) were friendly and engaging. Overall we were very impressed. So, a five star shout out from San Antonio, Texas!!If you are in this area, please give them visit. I liked their Mac and cheese, and think the kids salmon plate is a good deal if you are not too hungry and want to try a bunch of things from the menu. But the mango tart slice was a bit disappointing for the $7 price point.Two of the employees forgot to bring out the drink, so I had to go back and ask for it. Otherwise the service was ok.Is a pretty loud family restaurant style atmosphere with lots of nearby office employees waiting out the traffic.

Fast casual cafe with customizable options. The food is tasty but the online ordering system through their website is very buggy. My coworker and I both tried multiple times to place a large order for lunch on the website, and even though we would get to the point of inputting our credit card information, the website would take us back to the beginning of the order, rendering us incapable of paying for the food. We ended up using DoorDash and got our food that way (which also had a quicker delivery time).Other than the woeful tech issues, I did like my two tender plate which I got with mac and cheese and corn. They give a complimentary piece of bread as well. Vegetarian friendly. Pickup and delivery available.

Located in Manhattan Village with plenty of parking options. Dine in options offers both indoor and sheltered outside area with flame warmers.Place your order at the counter and meals will be served at the table, drinks are self pickup on ordering. Service is courteous, fast and a very good experience. Pricing is decent for the quality and worth the experience.The dishes we ordered were both good, but the Brussels sprouts were a little on the salty side. Beef was tender for both the roast and stew and sides are generous

My husband and I are vegans and we were happy to finally try this place! Had the chili glazed tofu bowls and they were delicious! They don’t cross contaminate in the kitchen and have a lot of fresh food.Service was great from the guy we ordered from to Sandro who was very helpful and got our free drink refills for us.We will definitely go back!!

Absolutely LOVED this place. It was my 1st time there. I stopped in for a quick lunch, and I am so glad I did.1st, it was SUPER Clean2nd, the lady who took my order was very nice.She gave me recommendations3rd My food came out fast.4th My food was friggen awesome.I get scared to eat salad out, and their house salad was SO FRESH & CLEAN.The dressing it came with was refreshing and complimented the salad perfectly.I didnt even need extra. Our visit to Urban Plates in Manhattan Village was a great experience. We were very impressed with the quality of food, friendly service, clean location, and great atmosphere. My Chimichurri Grass Fed Steak was delicious and did not disappoint. And my Lemon Berry drink was also very refreshing. Visiting my children. Here from NYC of boundless dining ops. I had a joyfully great foodsperience. My son daughter-in-law and I were spoiled by the attention of Chef Steven who guided our order. An amazing experience, I highly recommend this place. The food was cooked to perfection. Not only that but the staff had a very welcoming atmosphere around them. Especially our waiter Isaias, who answered our questions and recommended some delicious plates. I come here quite often. It’s one of my favorite places with lots of great healthy food to choose from. Salmon plate and Chicken Cobb salad are my favorites. Service is great too. Alex is usually there and is always very attentive and nice, and he always stops by to ask if I’m happy and need anything. I relax here for a nice dinner after work or sometimes mobile order on my lunch break and it’s usually ready by the time I show up. Happy to see places like this around that offer accessible healthy food that tastes good. Thank you!

It is a very interesting place with a variety of plates in the menu, very friendly employees, and welcoming atmosphere for a reasonable price. The food is also delicious, and the service is very quick! Self-service mixed with traditional restaurant service is an interesting combination, which also makes this place stand out among other restaurants. We really like this new Manhattan Beach location. The interior decoration is very nice and the exterior seating is cool with fire pits. The food, as always, is great! I had the super-delicious portobello mushroom sandwich. My daughter loved the braised beef and my wife really liked her tofu vegetable Curry braised. Did I mention the scrumptious Mango Tart Pie? A great dining experience!

Friendly and nice environment. Food not bad. But the staff were not quick to clean up. There were several open tables, all dirty, floors dirty with food from prior patrons at a couple of tables. I had to ask for a table to be cleaned. She wiped it with a wet rag, and didn’t go over it with a dry one. Fortunately my friends and I enjoyed our meet up.

This place was absolutely amazing. I hit the grass fed steak plate, and it was delicious. I finished it in under 5 minutes. But the most impressive thing about Urban Plates was their quick service. After ordering, I decided to quickly go to the bathroom to wash my hands. The moment I walked back to my table, my food was already there. At first, I thought something was wrong, that they gave us someone else’s order. But sure enough, there was my plate, grass fed steak plate. I couldn’t believe it, that was quicker than McDonald’s. The dish didn’t disappoint. Service was good too. Very good restaurant, was super impressed.

Came here on a whim, craving avocado. The cashier, Dylan, walked me right through the menu to what I wanted. Felt like a win. Got the portobello sandwich, and added avocado. My server, Bella, was the down-to-earth person I needed, and she brought me every sauce for my fries so I didnt have to pick just one. My food was delicious. I mean, I love sandwiches, but this one really hit the spot. A very satisfying meal. Dessert? Might as well. Calories be damned. At the counter sweets case I immediately met the jovial Steve, the chef, and he joined me as I was faced with an ultimate decision; choose the rich chocolate, or the fluffy layered cake. He rightly announced that having two of these desserts would have me leaving five stars. Well he was right. Dessert was fantastic. A kind experience. Thus is a good place. They have healthy food and not so healthy options all are very good. I like the Moroccan chicken (its a stewed type chicken, very tender, in a gravey like sauce with the side of your choice. I like it with rice. Wife loves the beet salad, any chicken dish and the deserts are very good too. They even have chicken tenders, hot or not, which are great.Overall, the food is resonable, and the portions used to be bigger (pre-covid) but that is everywhere.Try it, youll like it.

This location has a great atmosphere and seating, and tons of parking right outside. The portions are a good size.2 stars for the food - even though its touted as healthy, the enormous amount of salt on the food drops the stars.This isnt a one off - the last time my family are there we all commented on how salty everything was. We guessed at the time that someone in the kitchen had just over salted everything by accident. Fast forward a few months and we are there again...only to have them saltier meals!Totally understand that restaurants bump up salt for flavour, but when you taste salt before you taste the food, and then only taste salt while youre chewing, thats a bad sign. With how unhealthy high amounts of salt are, I hope the chef either significantly reduces the salting, or the restaurant begins to offer low or no salt options. If/when that happens, well give it another try.

Today was not the first time I have ordered here, but it was the first time I sat down and ate food here. I had gone and ordered a steak dinner the first time to-go and it was perfectly medium rare, and the food was good. So, I went back and ordered 2 sides of steak to-go, and they were perfect.I went back the next day, and got the same thing, but the steaks were well done. I wasnt as happy, as well done steak does not taste the same. I went back the next day, but I asked the cashier to please have them made medium rare, and explained how the last ones were well done, and I did not like it. Sal was standing there, and said that wasnt acceptable and gave me the meal free. (Which I was not asking for, but the gesture was greatly appreciated.) That day he checked the steak for me, and it was delicious.So, on to today, I had a really rough day, and could have died because of a negligent driver, so I went and sat down in the restaurant to try and feel better. I ordered my 2 sides of steak and sat down. Later, the waitress brings out 3 sides of steak, one was medium rare, one was all light brown, and the last was a little darker. I was like umm what is this? She was like, Well since this is well done, they gave you an extra. I think she could tell I wasnt happy, so she asked if I wanted her to take it back. I had to think about it, but Sal told me if it was over cooked again to send it back, so I did.I watched the waitress take it back to the To-go guy at the counter, who then took it to the cook. The to-go guy went back over to where he had been standing, but I hear him tell the cook, Dude, what are you doing? I was already watching the cook, who had proceeded to take the steak I sent back and slice the over done meat from it. I hear the cook tell the To-go counter guy, The meat is fine, see it is medium rare. After he had chopped off over a third of each piece. (tbh, if you have to chop that much off it, it was never medium rare.) The waitress brings it back to me, yes the same plate and asks me if that is better. Of course it was not better, as I had watched the cook chop it down. But I said yes, and proceeded to eat the very thin steak. Now, while I was eating it, I am watching as the 2 cooks and the To-go guy are literally staring at me while they are talking. I was incensed. I mean really, how insulting, and after they had spoken loud enough for me to hear them by the front door? The meat under the cutting off of the well done top meat was medium at best, and I am being generous. I really wish I had taken a picture before the waitress took it back.I have to say that I did leave them a note on my receipt explaining that I had indeed seen what they had done.I am just curious if they would have been okay with having that meat brought out to them? I do not think I will be going back. I would have given them 1 star, but Sal was super nice.

Their food is relatively cheap in price but the flavor and quality is great. The out door dining is awesome at night with the fire place going. The service is great too. I dont know why it shows two money signs, this restaurants prices are very affordable, my meal is cheaper on price than a combo meal at McDonalds. The to makes it more expensive. I was invited & treated by friends for a birthday celebration. This was my virgin experience at the Urban Plate, Manhattan Beach.The atmosphere was calming, clean, and spacious. Although we dined indoors, the lit fire-warmers on the patio provided a nice ambiance.I enjoyed seeing the variety of entrees. Jacob kindly and patiently took our orders.The meal was brought to our table by gracious Monique. Each of us was pleased with the selections.Kudos to Monique for her recommendation of the Cowgirl 🍪. Pretty much every single time I come to this restaurant. I am just amazed of how perfect the food is. The chimichurri grass-fed steak with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts was just stellar, everything from the way it was made to the sauce that I added on top was just delicious and absolutely satisfying. I definitely recommend this place to anybody. Just looking for a quick eat or just a fine dining experience. This place offers so much and the staff is just amazing, always willing to give you what you ask for and always happy to help you with anything you need.

I went with my friends for an early casual meal. I am gluten sensitive so I was pleasantly surprised with the mryiad of options to choose from. I ordered steak and roasted Brussel spouts which was delicious. We decided to dine in - the entire staff was friendly and attentive. I like urban plates generally and this location is above average, with lots of free parking, good outdoor seating (with shade) as well as tons of seating indoors. And as always urban plates has best real food you can get eating out, at least at this price point. My only criticism is a general one, which is that I miss the old cafeteria style layout that urban plates used to have, but it seems that all locations have gone to the model where you order at the register and then wait to be served. A shame, as before you could see what looked good, or even get samples. Still, a great place to go when you want to eat like Michael Pollan.

He said Ill be right back but pick up is over there. I walked to the area he pointed out and there were a couple guys/employees who never acknowledged my presence. So the guy who pointed me over there asked them about my order they told him he said they are bagging it now young lady comes to hand it to. Im old school...even if you cant help me acknowledged you see me and youll help me. Its NEVER ok not to acknowledged your customers EVEN if its not your job. When I worked in customers service and what mean anytime you work at a restaurant, retail store, wherever the public can walk in...I dont care if youre the chef, CEO, CFO,cleaning crew, cashier, Representative whoever you are acknowledge the customer and say someone will be with you and if I had a free moment I would help that customer even if It wasnt my job that says a lot about management which is why I would not be a good manager or at least in the eyes of coworkers I strongly believe in jumping in and getting my hands dirty because Im representing a company and I want the customer to feel wow that was awesome. You never ignore the customer even if youre busy. Its not hard to say someone will be with you. Or leaving 1 person to handle multiples of people. Everything organic and pretty healthy, but still full of tasty options that will please any eater, even those who may not favor healthy food.Also the prices are as good as you can get for the food quality. Its not cheap, but considering food is organic, healthy, and portions are well sized the value is excellent.

Do not eat at this location. The woman at the counter and the manager Alejandra discriminated and harassed me in front of my children. They tried to force me to put on their mask when I had a mask on that was in compliance with the mask mandate. She kept trying to force me to take a mask out of her dirty hands with no gloves. I have written corporate and spoke with my attorney. Vote with your dollar do not comply to someone screaming and forcing you to put on their mask fromTheir dirty hands. Rude and horrible service. God forbid they don’t like the color of your mask. I don’t comply to this and they don’t get to make mandates on which kind of mask I decide to wear as long as I’m wearing one. Have fun getting sued . It happened to Trader Joe’s and sprouts and look at them now.

Saw sign outside when walking by for their chicken tenders. My son is a connesuier, so I had to go in. Great looking menu, but got just the tenders.Habanero sauce wasnt too hot, but had good flavor. The others were fine. All a matter of taste. The tenders are crispy or hot. I looked the hot better, with no sauce.Got the large cookie and it was good, too. Looking forward to trying more of the menu.

I think Pasadena is the only location where I havent come across a dumb mistake.Every corporation is starting to get a little ridiculous. Lol, they decreased the size vegetable portion. These executives are certainly going to hell...like for sure for sure. Im a plate pass member, unfortunately I cannot tip anymore, because there is a mistake on ALMOST EVERY ORDER.

I tried their Ahi salad which was very good. I also tried their curry soup which wasnt as tasty as I expected. They did offer to replace it with something else, however.Service is friendly and the food is fresh. They have very tasty dessert pastries, so leave some room for dessert.

Looks so nice inside, the cashier was very patient with me and answered all my questions. I ordered a chimichurri steak plate with mash and lentils, soooo bombbbb . Also got a couple kids plates and my mom ordered the Asian chicken salad, we literally got our food within like 10 minutes of ordering (we came around dinner time). Got our table checked on twice. Plus the parking was super easy to find :)

Last night I ordered to go, and I want to give a shout out to two hard working employees who were taking orders: Jessica and Jackie! While waiting for my order, I witnessed first hand how hard these two ladies work! When there was a lull in customers, they didnt take a breather and chat, instead, they each went and helped out in other areas, and were constantly on the move. Jessica and Jackie earned my 5 stars!

I called to ask if they could send 10 meals to nurses at Little Company of Mary to thank them for taking care of my husband.
