This is my second time having Urbane cafe, but first time actually eating in the cafe. Their menu is diverse, catering not only to various tastes but also offering options for kids and vegans. The bright modern decor offers a welcoming experience with plenty of seating indoors and few outdoors. There is free 90 minute parking in the back lot shared with the other establishment on this block of Lake Ave.During this visit, I opted for the Santa Maria BBQ chicken salad, which turned out to be a good choice. To sweeten the experience, I also selected four different cookies to share with my friends. The food was a hit, and the relaxed ambiance added to the overall enjoyment. The service was fast and friendly even though there were people ahead of my friend and I. Whether youre looking for a quick bite or a leisurely meal with friends, Urbane Cafe offers a satisfying blend of convenience, menu variety, and in a comfortable setting.

This is one good place to go if you like fresh salad, grain or noodle bowls and sandwiches. The focaccia bread is baked in house and is used to prepare all their sandwiches. The beef chimichurri and cilantro chicken are family favorites. The freshly baked cookies are chewy and delicious. One can’t go wrong with their double chocolate cookie and the cranberry white chocolate.

So healthy and tasty and has the BEST chocolate chip cookie (so yummy, better than Panera’s)!!!! That is always my highlight of coming here.I love their sandwiches and salads. They are ALL tasty and good for you!I have come here multiple times and eaten many times outside and inside. There is always seating!I came with a group of 7 people and we were able to get the big table inside (today is a scorcher of 100 degree weather)!Parking is plenty outside. Bathrooms require a code but it’s clean inside and the AC felt great!!There is free water and napkins provided as well 😀I highly recommend this place and pricing is average ($15 for a sandwich that comes with a side salad).

Urbane Cafe was one of the pioneers in the farm to table restaurant concept. Not to be confused with Urth Cafe, this healthy eat sandwich and salad restaurant has a unique menus catering to farm to table freshness. It doesn’t serve coffee but fountain drinks.In 2003, Tim Holt opened its first sandwich shop in Ventura and then expanded to multi-locations. It’s menu is very similar to Mendocino Farm that’s few steps away on Lake. It makes its bread on site fresh. So all the sandwiches are made using the freshly out of oven bread.Cranberry Brie turkey sandwich seemed to the winner here. My wife and a couple of friends ordered that today when we had lunch there after church. The combination of cranberry and Brie seemed to please many People’s eating palates. It’s the most popular items on the menu.I wanted to compared their Banh Mi to Mendocino Farm’s. So I got a chicken Banh Mi. I felt that the Banh Mi at Mendocino was tastier with more depth in flavor.My other friend got the Mediterranean salad bowl with chicken. It looked healthy and yummy. Maybe I will try that next time.For fast and casual dinning, this is a popular restaurant to try out.

I came here for a healthier fare.I liked that nutrition information was provided.Everything is prepared fresh.You order and then they give it to go but you can eat there.Clean restaurant with updated modern decor.I had a chicken sandwich with Brie and it was a solid 10/10. I also had a salad.Definitely recommend and sad we don’t have this in Canada.

Stopped in on Friday evening looking for something light. Young man and woman behind the counter were very kind and inviting. Gave me a sample of thier 2 house soups( chicken enchilada? And tomato bisque) both were outstanding. The cranberry cookie and white chocolate lemon cookie were also great. I will be back for sure next time Im in Pasadena. 🙂

Urbane Cafe great. The ambiance is simple yet inviting. The small outdoor patio great to talk and people watch. The food looks delicious.I had the chicken cilantro salad with slice of focaccia bread. The lunch portion was great and salad was fresh. The mango lemonade was refreshing.I will definitely be back to try other menu items.

Ordered Santa Maria salad and upgraded to tri tip instead of chicken, very good! Didn’t even need the side dressing that came with it. Salad tasted fresh and made to order. Lettuce and greens were chilled so the freshness was easily recognized every bite. The beef was very tender and there just enough drizzle of sauce. There’s a little bit of heat from the jalapeños. All this together in a bowl, AMAZING. I also order a drink and decided to try their lemonades: they had old fashion original, watermelon, and mango lemonades - I went with the watermelon lemonades since it suited the warm weather today (shout out to BEN and his team for recommending the drinks). Came during lunch hour and surprisingly the line moved FAST and the in a few minutes the buzzer went off to PICK UP MY FOOD. Too bad they ran out of NITRO INFUSED COFFEE! I was really looking forward to it. PARKING is a hard, it’s so packed I had to circle around a bit before finding a spot. Good location across from the gym. Will come back again and recommending to anyone who wants a salad or sandwich, this is the spot. Oh, they also have warm chocolate chip cookies (and other flavors too). :)

This place never disappoints! Used to to to the one in Northridge, food always tastes fresh and great! I came to Pasadena location, staff were more than positive, happy to be working. I came a little late but Jessie (one of the employees)told me not to rush and was more than understanding.Food was great as usual.Great spot! And great staff!

Jasmine M is an employee who works at the register and takes phone orders.She is very rude and unfriendly, no customer service skills whatsoever.If she does not want to be there, then she should go and work somewhere else.Customer should not have to deal with that.Other than that, the food is pretty good, it’s just a shame that some of their employees ruin the experience.

Like other Urbane Cafe locations, the atmosphere is modern, warm, and inviting. The service from start to finish is great! Orders were prepared exactly as requested. I happened to be walking by and saw they were having their grand opening. I hadnt planned on eating here but decided to check it out. I got the Santa Maria BBQ. It was ridiculously delicious. The bbq flavor was one of the best I have ever tasted on a sandwich. I think what really added to the deliciousness was the fresh bread. The salad was fresh and very tasty as well. Their cookies looked amazing, but I did not partake this visit. While the customer service did not factor into my 5 star rating, I have to say, everyone was extremely nice and helpful. You could tell that since it was their first day that there were some people learning, but the management (the owner was there) were over the top patient with their new employees and you could tell it was a very friendly and professional working environment and the employees were very kind and happy to answer all my questions.

Extremely tasty sandwiches, especially considering that the bread is homemade, and everything is relatively healthy. The customer service was pretty great as well, and everything seemed very cleaned. The food here is always delicious. They make the bread in-house. I would come here just to order the bread or the Japanese garlic dressing. Its the one to get and always substitute it for the balsamic vinegar. The service is great!

I normally dont get sick easily, but after eating here I did. I was going to Mendocino Farms, and passed by this place, and saw a long line at MFs and not a person here so, I decided to give Urbane Cafe a try. First time coming here so, I got a grilled chicken sandwich I forgot the name. They cooked it in front of me pretty quick so, I thought the chicken was precooked. I ate it, it was okay. Later that day, I didnt feel so fab. I was burping sour chicken for days. I thought I might need to go to the hospital. As for me getting sick like this, you know they gave me bad food. If you come here, dont get anything chicken. I dont recommend this place.

DIABETICS beware.Came here yesterday and had the keto salad and got a diet coke from the machine myself. It tasted weird, but I made sure that the fountain dispenser said diet coke. It was bothering me so I tested it by pouring a small amount in a dish and nuking it. It dried out STICKY. Which means it was regular coke or who knows what else with CORN SYRUP in it. *SIGH*Please have better quality control. I watch my sugar intake and its ESPECIALLY harmful/potent in liquid form like this.

As a loyal customer to urbane cafe, i have to say i am pretty disappointed with the quality at this location. I get the cafe salad and the texture of the lettuce is awful and more bitter than I have had at other locations like ventura or thousand oaks. Not the mention, the bread has always been over cooked and not even warm. I wont be recommending this location to friends or likely returning, even though they offer amazing variety of health, delicous food options. Please improve your quality control!

A nice addition to the fast casual dining scene in Pasadena. Corner Bakery and Panera Bread can only satisfy me for so long; Im glad I came to try this place. Ive been here for lunch and early dinner and so far Ive tried the chimichurri steak and the southwest chicken.CHIMICHURRI STEAK SANDWICHAmount of meat was on the skimpy side and the flavor was seriously lacking; I was also expecting the chimichurri flavor to stand out a bit more.SOUTHWEST CHICKEN SANDWICHBy far the better of the two sandwiches that Ive tried. Roasted chicken with corn, beans, avocado, pepper jack cheese, and chipotle aioli sauce. The chipotle aioli gave a nice kick and the cajun flavored chicken was moist and flavorful. Would definitely get this again.I have to mention that their foccaccia bread is amazing. I even bought an order of it to take home with me (ate it with some olive oil and balsamic vinegar, so damn good).Solid option when you want a quick but quality lunch. Oh, and their lemonade and craft sodas are pretty legit, check them out.

A co-worker and I went here for lunch yesterday. We both got salads that were so good! However, I gave this place 2 stars because the woman at the counter taking our order was a little bit rude and unhelpful when my friend was struggling to use the app to pay. She acted like we were taking forever so I ended up footing the bill for my co-worker to speed things along. During this incident there was no line and when someone else showed up another employee opened up a till to help the next customer so there was really no reason for the rush. Also, my boss put in an order online and I brought it back to work for her and the order was wrong. My boss had ordered chicken with her salad which was printed on the receipt but there was no chicken in the salad. It was embarrassing for me to have shown up without double checking the order and frustrating for my boss since none of us had time to go back to correct the error. Overall, the food was good but the service lacks.

I love restaurants when you walk in you automatically feel welcomed! Urbane Cafe is absolutely one of this places. I got invited by Yelp to check this place out. Right when I walked in I immediately was drawn into the open oven and fresh bread being made. Then I walked to the back where two lovely ladies from the marketing team greeted me and right away did a drawing with straws. I picked the red one and won a Tshirts (which I switched out for a water bottle because I knew I’d use it more :] ). Then they kindly gave me a tour of the restaurant and a brief history about how their first location was in Ventura and then moved up to San Diego and now to LA. They filled me on the menu and how they have a sandwich and salad special of the month. The one they had was a Golden Salad, kind of like a Mexican salad with chipotle ranch dressing. After going over the menu I decided to give the Cilantro Chicken a try along with their Watermelon Lemonade. I got my buzzer and waited. Moments later the buzzer went off and my salad arrived. It smelled heavenly! That chipotle ranch dressing had a kick to it, a bit spicy yet mild and creamy. It was delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly, the cheese on top was very tasty. The Watermelon Lemonade was a tad bit too sweet for me but still delicious. At the end they said I can have a fresh baked cookie as well, so I chose the Oatmeal Raisin Cookie. It was warm, moist and delicious!Thank you again for having me. Another successful Yelp event :)

Ive been there twice...salads both times.ahi salad the 1st time- yummy but the dressing I would have made a soy vinaigrette😀 . 2nd time was the Cobb with so much lovely chicken breast,and lots of the other components of a real Cobb. *Warning: wall of text ahead* ;-)This was my second visit. I continue to be impressed with their salads. Unlike the boring bowls of Sysco® Standard Sadness™ at so many other restaurants where salads are a neglected afterthought, containing little more than iceberg lettuce, shredded American cheese, some cold, rubbery overcooked meat, and if youre lucky, a cherry tomato or two, this places salads have real variety, flavor & quality.I liked the electro-indie background music, and the atmosphere was bright & clean, with a hip, sort of industrial feel. Can you tell Im a millennial? (Okay, technically Im GenX, but thats neither here nor there).The staff that night was friendly & courteous, if not energetic, but having worked in foodservice myself, I know what its like late on a Friday evening closing shift after the dinner rush, so I cant really fault the employees for that.Perhaps the manager might consider a scheduling change to give each of the closers a meal break after the evening rush. I know the cost wouldnt be inconsequential, but the positive impact on customer relations, employee morale, and the efficiency & quality of all the labor youre paying for later in the evening when everythings being cleaned up are factors worth considering. I speak from experience, since years ago I used to be a barista.One area for improvement that led me to rate my experience four stars instead of five, was that the restroom needed some attention. It was far from gas-station-level gross (just missing paper towels and there was some paper trash on the floor) but perhaps more frequent restroom checks, and the use of a timer with snooze feature to ensure that they actually happen on time would be useful in keeping the restroom stocked and tidy.Overall pretty good, but some specific room for improvement.

This was a hard rating to do. I couldnt find my mojo when eating the salad. Instead of steak maybe i should order chicken. I wasnt used to a salad with both cheddar and gorgonzola, on top of that blue cheese? I dont know it was a weird combo for me that didnt seem to fit right. The other night a young woman named Audrey was patronizing and showed a complete lack of respect making a scene getting loud with a senior customer while my kids and I were waiting on our order it made us feel uncomfortable the way Audrey belittled the lady at the end my family and I come here twice maybe three times a week but this was uncalled for don’t think we’d like to come back with that kind of customer service that senior customer is someone’s grandma have a little respect it’s not hard
