Saw this place was the highest rated poke joint in my neighborhood and had to give it a try. Especially since there is no mention of poke in its name. Showed up for a business lunch meeting at 1:30 on a Friday and was surprise that the place was packed. The line to order the food was pretty long but it was moving fairly fast as they have their operations down well. We ordered a couple of large bowls each were $18 including tax which I thought was a super nice touch. The servers were great and where adding scoops without the need to ask for more. Although $18 these days for a lunch item is very high, the quality and quantity of food that you get here is worth it.

Love love love this place! The fish is fresh, a ton of side options (including avocado at no additional charge!!), and large portions. I love their broccoli for the base. And they have a greatly priced drinks menu. Note that you cant change the sugar levels tho.

Delicious sushi bowl place. Fresh ingredients and kind staff. The protein portions are a little small but the quality is good.You choose your protein scoop size, then the base and add your toppings and sauce.

I visited Uroko Cafe in Costa Mesa today for the first time, excited to try their offerings based on the positive Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of my expectations.I ordered a 3 scoop poke bowl, but my disappointment began with the rice. It was stale, lacking the freshness and texture I had hoped for. Moving on to the fish, I found that some pieces were bland, lacking the flavorful punch I associate with quality poke. Even worse, a few of the fish pieces tasted past their expiration, leaving a rather unpleasant aftertaste.To add to my disappointment, the spicy miso sauce that accompanied the dish was excessively salty, overwhelming the other flavors and making it difficult to enjoy the meal. On a slightly positive note, the gyoza I tried wasnt terrible, but it certainly didnt make up for the other shortcomings.Perhaps I set my expectations too high, considering the glowing reviews I had read. However, based on my experience today, I have to say that Uroko Cafe was underwhelming overall. I do acknowledge that everyone can have an off day, so if I find myself in the area again, Ill give it another chance. Hopefully, my next visit will yield a more enjoyable experience and a review worth sharing.

I was looking around online for something light to eat nearby after a day at South Coast Plaza that was budget friendly and Urokocafe came up in my search. It might be easy to pass by at first since their entrance is actually in the back. I got to the location by going through the Chevron station.As a fan of Poke, Im always up to trying a new Poke spot. Like other Poke restaurants, they offer build-your-own-bowl options. While most places offer 2-4 scoops of protein they actually offer up to 5 scoops of protein if wanted. Theres a variety of bases, sides, proteins, sauces, & toppings to choose from. They even offer vegan meat and tofu for people that are plant-based. You can also order appetizers, pre-made bowls, a kids bowl, or even miso soup. Another option that makes them unique is that they offer sushi and hand rolls. So if youre not in the mood to have a big bowl then you can order sushi rolls instead. I opted to get a 2 scoop of protein bowl which I very filling for me since I had a big lunch earlier. The service is fast & friendly. The simple yet modern design makes for a relaxing place to eat at.In terms of value, Uroko Cafe offers reasonable prices considering the quality and portion sizes. Theres plenty of seating to eat there or you can always take it to-go. If Im ever in the area again I would definitely check out Urokocafe for some good poke.

My husband and I always go here when we dont know what to have for dinner : )There have many choices!In addition, the fish and vegetables are fresh, so you can eat them with confidence.There are many kind staffs, so the atmosphere is also so nice.And agave syrup is used for boba.This is the wonderful feeling of the owner who wants you to eat healthy food as much as possible!We will definitely come back here soon!

This is my favorite poke place!! The food quality is great, the prices are reasonable (they dont even charge extra for avocado!) They have wide bowls for the poke, which makes mixing and eating much easier. They now serve sushi, as well. Its a good sized place, so theres always a seat available.

One of the better poke bowl spots I’ve been to. They have several premade bowls with seared salmon or tuna, a volcano bowl (salmon and tempura, I believe) and a kids bowl; I chose the build your own bowl option with 2 proteins. You can choose up to 6 items for side toppings although you are not able to get more than 1 serving of an item. For example, if you only like 3 items of the 6, you are only allowed to get 1 serving of the 3, forfeiting the other 3, instead of being able to get 2 servings of each. That being said, it is a very good portion of food. There are 4 different levels of spicy, I got the level 3 spicy which wasn’t very spicy at all. There are plenty of drink options including wine, sake, and beer. Miso soup was good, would come here again.

Great in pricewise and qualitywise. My only complain would be the steel-like plate they are using for dine-in. It is definitely not going well with the fish. I wish the owner had tried their poke in that way...It has to be a well-coated stainless steel for the fish if the owner wants to keep the concept (and i liked the presentation). That metal flavor ruined this great poke - just to reply to the owners comment, it was the plate itself not the fish or sauce... appreciate your reply i will visit again :)

This place is on the pricier side I ordered a large poke bowl and it came out to $15. also when I was choosing toppings it was either edamame or corn I couldnt choose both even though I had opted out of crab meat and other fresh toppings they wouldnt let me get corn they said that was an extra price. customer service was not the best when I left I told the young girl thank you but she was too busy on her phone that she didnt respond

Today was my second day trying this place the first day I had a premade bowl it was the tuna tataki. Really good the only thing I didnt like was they overseasoned the tuna. So today I tried the build your own bowl, very impressed. What I got was the five protein, which just means five scoops of whatever protein you want. I chose, of course the tuna. My base I chose was the salad, very delicious mixture of a lot of healthy greens. The drink I added was the Tai milk tea. Reasonably priced as well.

Pretty good. The quality of the ingredients and fish were pretty decent. The space inside is nice too. However, some small things were off-putting. I didnt like eating from the silver bowl. Also, the ingredients were just scooped so it didnt really feel like a bowl put together- more like ingredients.

Usually go for dine in.Placed a higher priced order with Uber eats.Restaurant didnt prepare as supposed and didnt include all ingredients that were ordered and didnt deliver the sauces either.Spoke with Matt who said thats not his fault that the food wasnt prepared correctly and I have to call Uber eats to pick up the missing items and hung up the phone.I know that Uber didn’t prepare the food and if you call Uber they will tell you that they are just a delivery service.Amazing service and no wonder their locations are closing one after the other.Will not do business again. Wait for additional reviews.

This place is great. I only got a three scoop portion size of protein and that was very sufficient. There was a decent line when we arrived but it went by quickly. The service is good and quick. I love Uroko and their variety. They offer some of the best poke bowls in OC. Not only are their protein options really tasty but they have a huge variety of toppings that make for a wonderful bowl at very decent prices. The medium is a big size for $15. Large is 5 proteins and almost too big for 1 person to eat. They are always friendly and have a good system down behind the line that makes their lines move quickly. Crazy busy spot at lunch time but a great choice.

Nice poke bowl shop offering lots of possible combinations. We were staying at the Hilton across the street so Uroko Cafe was a convenient stop for a quick bite. This place is a gem if you enjoy poke. Pricing is very reasonable at 8.50 for 2 scoops of protein, $10 for 3 scoops, or $12 for 5 scoops. These prices are including tax! Additionally, they offer complimentary imitation crabmeat and avocado or seaweed salad. Many other places charge extra for those. Presentation is nice as the food is served in a metal tray. There are a good variety of fish choices (protein) and other included toppings. Im interested in trying their milk teas on a future visit.

Never had poke before and frankly, never had raw fish either. So why did I eat here? To be honest, Im not sure either. Something beckoned me to try a poke bowl and I am glad I did! The ahi tuna was great and the bowl was very filling. The uroko sauce tastes amazing. For somebody who was too scared to eat raw fish, this was an excellent introduction to sushi for me. Very low quality ingredients, hardly any fish, the workers didnt even know what the dishes taste like because theyve never eaten here! Bad sign. I’ve ordered here probably two dozen times and the food is delicious.Only reason I give a 4 star and not a 5 star review is because for delivery orders, I’ve noticed other ingredients sometimes get mixed in that you did not order.For example I always order vegan meat & tofu together, but sometimes the dish will arrive with a scoop of shrimp or octopus thrown on top.If you have any dietary restrictions, definitely give your food a once-over before digging in.Beyond that, the food is absolutely delicious. I could (and have) eaten Uroko every day for a week!

Ive tried several Poke places and Ive yet to find one that has as much variety of toppings and as much freshness in their ingredients as Uroko Cafe. The place is spacious, well-lit, clean and smells nice. The menus are clearly laid out. The attention is great and the service is quick. Also the amount of food and the prices are fantastic too. I got the Poke Bowl with 5 scoops of protein and the servings were generous enough that I could have gone for an option with less protein and I would have ended up satisfied too. Highly recommended place!

Bought lunch here for my wife because she wanted seafood, I made her bowl on a whim and she loved it. I guess I can just choose foods really well to suit a person 😋 😅, but it also helps when youre a chef yourself. Ive heard great things about this place so I wanted to try it. Its a really cute place and I love the vibe. I love the options they had available- even shrimp tempura (sadly its just one piece though). The toppings were great as well. You can get free avocado which is awesome, but it is a bit pricier than other poke places that Ive been to, so you get what you pay for.The fish tasted very fresh and thats what I loved about it. My only gripe is that I wish the sauce was more flavorful. I usually get the original and spicy mayo at every place but I think because it was just ponzu, it wasnt as wow to me.Honestly I would still probably come back! I love the plating and would love to try other items on the menu!

Absolutely divine. This place was recommended to us by two locals. I love the process of how you create your own bowl from rice to proteins to toppings to sauces. Everything was fresh and delicious. There was also outdoor seating set up which was a plus. I would absolutely visit this place again and recommended as well.

I literally come here almost everyday on my lunch break at work. The VALUE is amazing. For how big of a poke bowl you get it’s definitely worth it compared to the other poke places in this area. Overview: Uroko cafe is honestly my go to poke spot during lunch! The portions are HUMONGOUS for the price you pay in my opinion, but only when you go to the actual restaurant. I noticed for any delivery apps, such as doordash or postmates, they do charge a little bit more. But I work close by so it is not a problem for me. Usually during peak hours, there is a bit of a line, but never anything bad. They have a variety of toppings and sauces that really compliment the fresh fish! And let me tell you, they fill your plate to the brim! The restaurant is also very group friendly and pretty aesthetic for a poke joint! 2 years ago Uroko was a shining beacon of poke in the area, now there are Poke places on almost every corner but Uroko is keeping pace.A bit too much heat on mine (requested moderate) but still very fresh and very good. Shame on you guys for not supporting customer loyalty. My sister went all the time here to get food for her firm nearby. She collected 20 stamps = 2 free meals. Sometimes Id meet her here during her lunch break. With covid we stopped going here. Came back today and they dont accept the stamps anymore. Theres no fine print or expiration date on the cards. The manager said the cards are five years old which is impossible because my sister hasnt even been at the firm for 5 years. They said they could only give us $10 off...clearly my sister is a repeat customer with TWENTY stamps, they could not even honor it? That’s a minimum of $200 of a customer’s money if it’s just the smallest bowl per stamp. We wont be coming back and when the firm opens again, they wont be getting their business either.

Well, after a few years of taking everyone I know here and ordering food for my company, I will be taking my business somewhere else. I collected over 20 reward stamps and today I went to redeem them. The cashier told me they would not honor the stamps because they switched over to an online rewards system over a year ago. That doesnt mean much to me since COVID put everything on shut down. There are a lot of places I havent gone to in over a year. The cashier offered to call her manager, but the manager said they would only take $10 off my current purchase. That doesn’t even cover the value of one complete reward card. The manager said that was the best they could do given the stamps “were over 5 years old.” There is no fine print on the rewards card on when to redeem by. Otherwise, I would’ve redeemed the earlier cards first. I’ve collected a few full stamp cards over the years. I would order company lunches on Uroko when they were on Doordash/Postmates and even continued to order pick-up when they were no longer on those delivery platforms. Ive brought a lot of people and orders to Uroko and I will take that elsewhere.
