Vespucci Ristorante Italiano in San Mateo

We turned up thinking that someone from our party of 5 had Meade reservations only to find that we had no reservations. However, we were graciously seated and we enjoyed a lovely evening. The wine was excellent and the dishes were tasty, flavorful and well presented. The gnocchi was superb in a delicate Gorgonzola sauce. The lamp chops were well liked by one person but not by another. Good selection of appetizers. The service is not rushed and it is personable and friendly. Yup! Give this spot a shot. You will enjoy your experience.

My husband and I are on vacation from Charlestown, Indiana. We were so impressed with the food quality, taste, and service that we ate here twice. The owners are kind, personable, and hardworking. You can tell they take pride in their restaurant and what they serve. After our meal, we ordered dessert. I am picky with cannolis and I can promise you this place had the best cannolis ever. We started our trip off here and made sure to end our trip here. I’ll be recommending this place to all my friends and anyone who plans to go to California.

The meal was great and the server was friendly. Made nice small talk with our server about the dish I ordered. The sauce they serve with their bread is really good but I forgot to ask what it was.

Literally the best Italian I have had in my entire life. Wife had the lasagna and I had something I can not spell, but the meat was tender and the pasta was fresh and cooked perfectly. We had the canola and it was the perfect end to the meal. 10/10 meal. Everything was perfect.

This place was like stepping into Italy itself! Very bright, clean, exciting atmosphere. Perfect temperature and volume level of music. Once you entered, the owners greet you and seat you right away. Service was quick and everyone there knew the menu options very well! My party and I decided to try a range of different dishes! Their homemade pasta was delicious! This is the best place to eat Italian any day of the week. Sauces were flavourful and tasted fresh. They make pasta daily and if it runs out they don’t sell it. This ensure quality is at its best! Seafood pasta, lasagna, wild boar, and the lamb was spectacular. Would recommend to anyone looking to take a step into Italy right in the heart of San Mateo.

The decor of this place brought back fond memories of my travels in Italy. Its well lit, clean, spacious, and looked very well kept. Its not very crowded at lunch time, so we felt like we had the entire restaurant to ourselves. Its a great place to hang out with friends and colleague as the food and wine were delicious. For this visit my fav were the spinach ravioli and the cannoli. The chocolate torta was a bit too heavy for me as its super rich.

I can not express how wonderful this place is. The customer service is above and beyond AND the food is authentic and top notch. Chef is from Naples. Manuela was full of charm and positive energy! Come on an empty stomach and plan to stay for dessert.

Incredible authentic Italian food. This place is run by an Italian couple. The woman is always circulating the tables making sure everyone is satisfied. They get the freshest ingredients and show great care in maintaining the high quality of their food. Id recommend this place to anyone looking for good Italian. Prices are fair for the bay area.

Great experience from check in, to appetizers, entree and desert, they really deliver top service and flavorful pastas, went here for a birthday dinner. Owner and the whole team really take care of you. Thanks.

Delicious upscale continental Italian fare, owner operated with love. Great ambiance, art and of course food! We had Fettuccini ala Boscaila, Ravioli Ricotta w/spinach and Tortellini con Mortadella/peas in cream sauce. Tutto Buonissimo!!
