Not authentic pho in my book. Ordered chicken pho takeout but didn’t include sprouts, lime, basil, and jalapeños. Noodles were thick as pictured. Taste was ok but don’t go in expecting traditional chicken pho.

I’ve been going to Viet Noodle bar for over 8 years now and honestly it’s incredible every time! Fernando is one of the nicest team members that always makes us feel welcome when we come in! If you’re wanting to try something extra delicious, try the vegetarian pho, the crispy soy skins are perfect.

I had the beef noodle soup and it was spicy and flavorful. My wife had the turmeric fish. I enjoyed mine more than hers. She thought hers was good but not something worthy of five stars. Nonetheless, I gave five stars as everything was in order, friendly, and clean. We finished with coconut ice cream which I thought concluded the meal nicely. I will be back.

Ive been coming to this Viet Noodle for a couple years now. The food is consistently fresh and delicious and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I love the Chicken Sandwich and the Tumerac Fish Noodles and have a hard time straying from my habits. If you havent been yet, what are you waiting for?!

Our party of three was exhausted from a long drive, and since this was almost across the street from our hotel, we decided to make a very early night of it and eat there. 4:45 pm, restaurant was pretty deserted - super clean, waiter masked, lighting ambient but enough for the oldest among us to read the menu easily.Our waiter was great. Helpful, knowledgeable, funny in a charming way (not overdoing it to being annoying). He was there when we needed him and stayed away otherwise. One thing I particularly liked was that he waited until one of us had finished speaking before asking if we needed anything else.The vegan pho was excellent; tons of vegetables, good broth. The jicama fresh rolls appetizer, also excellent - and I dont know what they do with their peanut sauce but it was head and shoulders above what most Vietnamese restaurants serve. I had Pho Ga (chicken), which is often hard to find. The broth could have used a bit more anise and been a little stronger over-all, but otherwise it was very good. Chicken was clean-tasting, without that undercurrent of really cheap meat you sometimes get in soups. I asked for extra vegetables and got a heaping platter of bean sprouts and basil on the side - no charge. Ginger tea was slightly sweet, delicious, as was the jasmine tea.If I had one criticism, it would be that the noodles, which were flat, were over-cooked. Another few minutes and theyd be falling apart. However, all in all Id highly recommend this. No, youre not going to get Omigod this is the best pho ever. You are going to get a good, filling meal that will leave you very satisfied.

The lemongrass beef noodle bowl was excellent. The broth was so flavorful with a slight fattiness adding to its wonderful texture. The turmeric fish noodle bowl was equally as marvelous. The fish was cooked perfectly, so tasty, and a perfect amount of fish to noodle. Service was fantastic and the setting is comfortable, inviting. The owners are friendly, warm. I highly recommend this place.

Not really authentic pho, I guess its modern approach but so much so that it hardly resembled pho at all. We should have known when we approached the storefront Friday night that the sparse crowd would be a good indicator of the quality of vietnamese pho this place would deliver. Beside the food being a bit bland, there was also egregiously long periods of time we were waiting for the server despite there only being maybe three tables being waited on in the entire restaurant. Bit of a disappointment in general. Hope they make some changes that make me want to give them another try.

Had a Pho with Turmeric Fish; a brilliantly fantastic flavorful; to which was exactly what I expected & looking forward! With such an abundant aromas, with authentic, genuine& rich flavors, whoever one would be seeking; especially around the time of February, a coldest month around a city of LA, we know so much about it!! Omg the food is amazing and there secret chili oil is beyond anything I have tasted, it has made my Vietnam food experience to a whole new level, the blessings of it being in Santa Monica are very welcoming amd giving our community a killer experience. You can never go wrong with the chicken pho to go or dining, I canta get over the beef quality on dish 16, the meat is by far a meat lovers delight very delicious and healthy. They do not corners I spoke to the chef and he does knows what he is doing he is passionate on what he cooks for us. They have wine the beaux but good enough. I mean we are not breaking the bank. Beer was very cold amd the coconut water was fresh I loved it. I can’t get enough of this place. I highly recommend to all my friends and Colleagues.

I love this restaurant. The service is excellent and the vegetarian pho is the best pho Ive ever had. At one point I was ordering the pho 3 times a week. Ive forced myself to have some self control and order it once a week now. Its chocked full of yummy mushrooms and tofu but the broth... A flavorful vegetarian broth with soul and character. Meat eater? Doesnt matter. If youre a fan of delicious flavor, give it a try.

I love this place. Peaceful environment and gentle delicious consistent quality food. The chicken salad is organic and perfect even without the dressing. I just add fresh grated Ginger and lime. And the tumeric fish noodle is Heavenly. Also, the Pho is fantastic. And the price is so right! Viet noodle is my favorite place to take friends, especially when you want to have great food and conversation.

If you love fish and southeast Asian food and you live in the west side this is a place to go!The ambiance is relaxing and the chairs are very comfortable. Parking is a bit hard. There are meter parking in front but would have to come early to look for parking.I would recommend the Fish pho or the Turmeric Fish. Both is very tasty. If your looking for beef pho and something more traditional, definitely not here.Staff are attentive and friendly. Also, a great place to bring a business associate for meetings. A very quite place to eat and have meetings.

If youre looking for Vietnamese food youre familiar with, this isnt the place as the menu is very limited. Went during lunch and it was completely empty. For an appetizer, we has the crunchy roll which was essentially a fried butterfly shrimp with an overwhelming amount of black pepper. Entrees were the Organic Chicken with Turmeric Rice, Sesame Beef with Rice Noodles and Organic Chicken Pho. The chicken with rice was decent despite too many slivered onions. The sesame beef was rather bland. The worst was the pho. The broth was incredibly lacking and it doesnt come with any of the garnishes youd expect which they do state on the menu. I wanted Vietnamese and I didnt want to go to far but next time Ill drive the extra 10 minutes to find something more authentic and tasty.

Perfect place to eat before seeing a concert at McCabes. Ate there with my daughter for the first time on Saturday night, returned with my truly beloved the very next night and again the food was delicious. Wow I didn’t think it was possible to have bad pho at a Vietnamese restaurant... the pho here is incredibly bland - I asked for Hoisin sauce and they said they didn’t have it. They didn’t bring any herbs, sprouts or toppings. Literally was served a bowl of bland chicken broth with a few noodles for $16!! On top of that, the service was so slow and our server was very rude. Good thing there are a million pho restaurants in LA so I never have to come back here again!

Im not loving this place.Prices are a bit hi, portions are small food is on the blander side.Ive tried the pho (vegetarian and ginger seafood), the mushroom appetizer and the tofu bahn mi.All of the vegetarian items taste pretty much the same. The bahn mi lacked in flavor was slightly sweet and very skimpy especially for $9.45 .This seems to be a specific style or region of Vietnamese cuisine, the menu is pretty small so theres not a lot of choices. If you are craving traditional classic American Vietnamese food this does not fit the bill.

I had asked for a side of brown rice (due to food allergies) Unfortunately the brown rice was a mixture of unidentified grains, brown rice, mung beans, and heavy on some kind of salty soy sauce? The waiter could not tell me definitively what was in the brown rice. I had no dinner due to not wanting to play allergy roulette with their food. Whatever was in their food, must be expensive though...Will not return, and would not recommend.

Today I took my whole family there and this place rip us off by over charge on purpose, from $14 a plate turned into over $20 plus a plate and end up charged our bank card twice, first swiped went thru and then that horrible service unfriendly lady attempted to swipe again so card decline then said our card declined and didnt went thru. There are many other good Pho place better than here in everyways. From me and my family just alerting all of you, I recommend AVOID THIS PLACE and enjoy somewhere else. I came here expecting regular Vietnamese food but I guess its the healthy alternative. Im not a health nut so maybe I cant appreciate the taste but the chicken was bland and was loaded with way too many onions. If I pay $10.95 for chicken and rice, I expect to be full, not hungry 10 minutes after my meal. It was just chicken and rice by the way. No side dishes. And to put things in perspective, I weigh ~100lbs. I dont know, maybe I just ordered the wrong thing on the menu.

I went there for dinner around 630 pm. The place was completely empty. They had a huge private party that had reserved most of the restaurant.This was a nicely decorated place with VERY SMALL PORTIONS. When we actually finished eating here, WE WERE STILL SOO HUNGRY that we went and had Mexican food. Lots of Mexican food afterwards. The PHO is made HANOI STYLE so there are no spouts or sprigs if green basil leaves. Food was PRICY and I LEFT SO HUNGRY I WOULD NOT COME HERE AGAIN.

Really cute interior, almost always quiet. I guess this is a modern take on Vietnamese, because the pho has thicker noodles and doesnt come with the typical add-ins im used to with pho. Its a little pricey, but then again its Santa Monica. The ginger fish soup is good; the vegetarian soup honestly just isnt worth the cost to me for what it is. The jicama fresh roll are delicious and a nice change of pace from traditional spring rolls. Everyone who works here is really sweet too, even just for carryout.

My friend and I came wanting to eat vietnamese food, what we got was some hipster, gentrified version of what was suppose to be pho. The pho isnt even served with basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños, and hosin sauce on the side. At $13 bucks a bowl, thats a rip off. Top it all off with unfriendly customer service and we are never coming back. Go support your local mom and pop viet place instead.

I need to update my previous 4 star review with another 4 star review, because Viet Noodle Bar (Pico blv) DESERVES 10 STARS!!!!!!! Their broth has a soul like no other. The one bad thing about getting any of their pho dishes is that after you have 1, all other pho places will taste like sand and wood chips in your mouth. pho tai so complex, so flavorful,so fresh, so alive! Pho ga, just like mother makes. And if you really feel like living the dream and getting your hands a little messy, hit up that crackled pepper crab. HOT DAMN! They have a ton huge fish tanks in the back keeping their clams, fish, and crabs happy, healthy, and fresh af to order.They could double all their prices and i wouldnt give a rats ass. Was there today and they charge me double and use excuse my credit card was declined when i checked on my bank account n clearly saw they charged me double and on top of that they charged for tip without asking me if i wanted to leave them a tip.. Three points for the environment. None of the big signs looks like a coffee shop. I didn’t ask what to drink when I came in and sat down. There are not many customers in the shop but the serving speed is super slow, which overturned my waiting time at the Vietnamese rice noodle shop. . The noodles in this store are a bit like Chaoshan Kway Teow instead of fine rice noodles. I took it as an innovation. However, I was fascinated by the taste of the beef burger after eating the roast beef. My friends soup noodles were not as salty as I ate in other stores. That nasty sweet and greasy seasoning taste, but this is probably not a good thing for people who like Vietnamese noodles. The price/performance ratio is not high.

The appetizers were beautifully cooked! There are also good snacks. I ordered shredded chicken noodles and they tasted like Vietnamese noodles. Overall they were very exquisite.

If you go here thinking of traditional Vietnamese noodles, you feel like you are 100% screwed.The two menu items that the staff says are the best, Ginger pho and spicy beef pho, both taste very real.
