Located in Old Town Monrovia. The food is absolutely fantastic. The broth for the pho tasted unique and better than what I’m used to. Everything was surprisingly decently priced. I will definitely be coming back when I’m in the area. We tried the starter platter and a rice dish as well and nothing disappointed. I’d like to try their other offerings.

Viet Phomula is a really good place for Pho. The Viet Pho Super Bowl is something special with that huge rib as a garnish. Almost impossible to eat by yourself and we dare you to try. I always come back home with leftovers. Everything else is pretty typical for a Vietnamese Restaurant but this place does it just about as good as the rest of them. We have been coming here for years and it’s still the same. It’s comfort food for us.

Come here for the vermicelli bowl! Its delicious, and really refreshing. The pho is okay but anytime I get the pho, I wish I got the vermicelli bowl.The service is fine. Theyll drop off your food and check up on you once, which is sufficient. I dont like to constantly be disrupted during my meal.Ive never had any issues with understanding the employees.

Finally made it in for a late lunch with my friends. Food was great. Their restaurant was pretty quiet. Food came out quickly! I had pork Bahn mi sandwich... it was just okay. The French bread was a little more dry than I like and the sandwich could have had more meat in it. My friends ordered their vermicelli salad and appetizer platter and extra spring rolls. All of which were good!Im going to stick to what I normally order and go to Bahn Mi My Tho for sandwiches.

I have ordered several times through Ubereats but it was my first time being there. The server has no interest in serving people and the restaurant is far from sanitary. The food taste is ok, but considering the other aspects of the restaurant we decide not to return this place. It deserves one star.

I ordered a couple of their BBQ pork Bahn mi and one of their grilled beef Bahn mi as well as the egg rolls (4 pieces). Every item was $10. The Bahn mi sandwiches were quite tasty and fresh. We liked the BBQ pork one better. The egg rolls were crispy but over fried and burnt a bit, but they were tasty, nonetheless. Ill try their pho next time.

Viet Phomula is fantastic! We were in the area for the farmers market and found this little gem just a few doors away.The portions are really good and the Vietnamese coffee is perfect! It was just renovated and it looks great!

I hardly come here.But every time I do, Im reminded of why I stopped coming here.There is always dirty dishes on the tables.Even when its not busy.The teens, yes boy and girl, in front of house always have a disturbing look on their face making you feel unwelcomed and seem upset that they have to take your order.They go back n forth from handling cash, to filling you garnish bags with bare unwashed hands.The food seems to always lose its flavor everytime I order something.I would personally not dine in due to the fact that, if the from is a mess, just imagine what the kitchen/prep area/dish pit looks like.If youre gonna take peoples money, give them what they are paying for. Yes, that includes hospitality.Dont be upset that people dont tip.You didnt earn it...

Newly remodeled. Staff was great, super attentive and patient. Even tried their best to accommodate a family that came in and asked for chow mein. Broth was great. Had a fever on a hot day and this was great in helping me get over it. Will have to return with the family.

I ordered the Super Bowl pho. Only after the whole thing I found a half-chewed shrimp tail hid in the broth. So its either they put shrimp in their pho broth, which is very much not authentic. Or it is what I suspecting that they got food scrap in my food.After researching, it is common practice to reboil food scraps into the broth repeatedly overtime to make good pho broth. However, I would not imagine it would be very much sanitary nor safe for a restaurant to do so.I assumed there wont be any shrimp tails (not to mentioned half-chewed). Since I have a slight food intolerance towards shellfish, and I ordered this over the phone and picked the order up myself, I started to call them to confirm (or to confront?) whether it is food scrap or ingredient. However, they just wont pick up on a Thursday night at 7 PM.

Not only are the people that run this place so nice and attentive, the food is absolutely phenomenal. I love their kimchi pho, its the perfect blend of spicy and sour and they dont skimp on meat.

I ordered the Pho tai filet and what I got was definitely not filet. The meat was overcooked and the soup was bland. There were 4 of us and they gave us 1 spig of basil to share. I asked for more and she brought only 1 more. I had to ask for more again, but thus time I was more specific and she brought us the minimal acceptable amount. The waitress was not friendly and never asked us how we were doing. The food is acceptable, but not authentic pho. As far as prices go, its average, but if you take into account the quality of food, I would say its expensive. I wouldnt go back, unless it was the last pho place in the county.

Weekend lunch hour only 1 table customer is so surprising me. Family operate restaurant for western visitor that not familiar Vietnamese food. Service is subpar their drink is full of ice that not much liquid within. I am the last customer walk out @1330, the chef could sit outside chat with others when I eating.

I got the Superbowl (N1). The broth was satisfying, and the meat was very well seasoned and cooked. The massive short rib bone was delicious and even fun to eat.For me, the noodles were a bit too soft though, but I will come back to be sure.edit: I came back weeks later and still too soft :(

Ok food, terrible experience. The first time I went, I chalked it up to a bad night. A misunderstanding led to us overpaying for food we didnt order. Thats fine. We were hungry and were able to take home leftovers. A $40 meal turned into $75. That sucks but I guess its on us... since they refused to take the extra food back.The second time, well I dont know... came in 40 minutes before close and we were turned away. Apparently their hours are not what they have posted. So make sure you get there 90 minutes in advance so youll have plenty of time to order your bowl of soup. I guess they need to prep the sprouts or carefully cut the limes.No big deal...plenty of other options in the area.P.S. - clean your walls they are covered in grease and splatter.

Ordered lunch over the phone and the girl that took my order did not understand the order that I read off the menu. When I get to the restaurant she said it would be 5 minutes. At this point I reviewed the order to ensure she got it right. She did not 😞. I went over the order with her again. Now I have to wait another 10 minutes. This is not okay when I have 30 minutes for lunch. Very fustrating

I ordered a large chicken pho to go via Google. Many things went wrong:- No one was available to interact with me when I entered. I waited until someone saw me.- I was quoted 15 minutes for pickup. I got there 20 minutes after ordering. She asked who I was picking up for, twice. Hard to communicate with her. It seemed like she was looking through the system and realized they didnt even start putting together my order. She asked to give them 5 minutes and didnt offer me a seat or water or anything.- Unfortunately, the food itself was also so-so. The chicken pho broth was bland. The chicken was tough (supposed to be shredded but more like chopped chicken breast). Im not sure if I even got the large version because there were only a few pieces of chicken.I suppose the packaging was good. The onion and green onion were separately packaged from the noodles and chicken in a bowl-shaped container. I got utensils and condiments.

If you know pho, you know its all about the broth and their broth is spot on.Also there was a very friendly waitress who took care of us and made us feel welcome! Tummy twisting. I counted 6 ants in my food. So disappointed because a close friend said I must taste the food there. I did not complain, I simply left because I am not a confrontational person at all. I hope they attend to the pest issues..... Because I would love to have an honest opinion on their food. As of now i would not recomend. I paid for veggies not insects!!!!

Our go to pho place in Monrovia. Very friendly setting that is small but welcoming. I look forward to trying their other dishes but so far have only tried their pho. As a vegan I love that they have a lot of meat free options. My brother is also gluten free and he has no trouble ordering.We usually call and order it for pick up. Be sure to ask them to mark the veggie broth from the meat one.

Good portion and friendly service. Only knock on the restaurant is that they crank up the air-conditioning like it aint no thang. Usually its not a problem for me but it quickly cools down my noodle soup. No time to chill. Must say, theres not many pho options around the area. Funny thing is the only other option is directly across the street. I have not tried the other pho restaurant but looking at the menu, each item is roughly $2 more.

This place is in central of downtown monrovia. Im not impress with the pho dac biet or the com suong chuong ga chien, rice is hard and dried, pork chops is way too sweet, need lemon grass to make it little more authentic, brings out the taste of the pork and the condiment fish sauce quite sweet as well. This place will do ok with American American not deserve my second chance to be back. Unless they improve their food taste. Sanitary part also needs improvement, sauce dishes too sticky and the holder way too dusty.

I just had dinner here and the broth is very authentic! There were no open tables at Saigon Ave across and we decided to try out Pho House 99 and we are glad we did!My husband had the Special Pho #1 and was surprised at the bonus shortrib that came with the order! There was a lot of meat for the price! My hubs commented that the broth is more flavorful than at Saigon Ave, and he should know better because he’s a half bred Vietnamese but one who knows his pho!I had the kimchi pho with seafood and it was good but very spicy! The seafood portion was generous; there was even a piece of crab although I didn’t care for it... too much work to break the meat out of the shell! If you like spicy, you will enjoy this!We spoke with Jeff, our server and probably the owner, who told us that they have 2 other pho joints in Garden Grove in OC. Anyone in LA will know that OC is home to the Vietnamese and therefore food there will be as authentic as it gets!I am glad we found this little pho gem in Monrovia! It will definitely be our go to for pho whenever we get the cravings!Not sure why Saigon Ave (competing pho place across the street) appears more popular ... perhaps its the ambience? Think if they replaced their many white LED lightbulbs with yellow lightbulbs instead, it will look more cozy, warm and inviting.

Pho 99 problems..... Do yourself a favor and dont go anywhere near this establishment. Run, do not walk the other way.Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. I dont even write yelp reviews, but this was a reminder for why an app like this could serve up a purpose for reviews.Since there was so much going wrong Ill just list what I can remember:-new management 10 days ago, safe to say they dont know how to service a customers-took 30 minutes to get our order started-took another 30 minutes for the food to come out-got our order wrong twice, brought out 3 incorrect dishes at 3 separate intervals-kept getting all the orders wrong for 3 other tables (it is not even busy at the restaurant)-so many orders were incorrect, the new people that got seated left the restaurant after observing the chaos-correct order finally comes out, the rest of my party is finished eating-they then say cash only when there is a credit sign next to their register-we say we only have a little cash, she says their machine is broken, cash only. After 5 minutes of this they bring out their credit machine and guess what it works quickly with no issues-server never came once to check on us during the entire meal, though they dont speak English, we expected at least a check up on our table

Pretty darn amazing home cooked style food. Everything fresh and hand made down to the lemonade. Oddly enough I did not try the pho yet but will. I instead opted for a spicy chicken rice dish. A million flavors riddled my tounge. Unlike most spicy dishes this one was not one note but symphony.

Better pho in SGV area.Pho bowl is smaller than other areas. Meat is smaller portion and not as rare or tender. Same description for the spring rolls. Pineapple fried rice was good.
