2023-06-19 02:40:54We just had pasta here on a random evening (June ‘22). The food was good but wasn’t amazing. Portions are good. You can sit outside on a cute little patio.

2022-11-29 19:56:55I rarely go to Italian restaurants: the marinara sauce is too acidic at most places. So I just avoid them. My family suggested Villa Capri based on a friends experience, so we tried it. This review is past due since Ive now eaten there twice. This review is of our most recent visit. We started with the mixed seasoned grilled vegetables - a perfectly prepared combination of zucchini, summer squash, red and green peppers, and mushrooms. Sadly, you only get a picture of zucchini, as we devoured the rest before I thought to get a picture. My daughter had the Penne Elena - grilled salmon with penne pasta, prepared with gluten free noodles. She said her salmon was not overcooked, which can be a problem at some places. As you can see, it looked amazing. My wife had the Francesca - also penne pasta with salmon, but this salmon was mixed into the dish along with asparagus tips, leeks, and a pink tomato sauce. She enjoyed it immensely.I had the Ravioli special for the evening - basic cheese ravioli but with spinach added, in a basil marinara sauce. Beautiful, flavorful, thick sauce with no hint of acidity. Topped with fresh grated Parmesan,Dont be afraid to try the house red wine. It nicely complemented my meal. And good gluten free choices are always a welcome find. Well be back.

2020-09-20 05:39:23The food and service are on point at Villa Capri! Come hungry or share a dish; portions are very generous! We all had leftovers. Dessert was delicious. Unfortunately not pics of the chocolate mousse or tiramisu as we immediately devoured them as soon as they hit the table. But trust me, theyre delicious!!

2023-11-13 03:00:13I found this restaurant hit and miss. I normally order takeout, and seems like something is always amiss. Our last order had no sauce on our pasta dishes. Poway doesnt have many options for good Italian restaurants, so we appreciate this restaurant, but I wish it was more consistent.

2023-07-08 16:24:26I love the patio here because it is not at all fancy. And, the servers are very friendly, welcoming, and diligent from start to finish. The food can be delicious, or close to delicious. That said, it is always a tad pricey for a neighborhood restaurant. For example, for one salad, one regular pasta entree and one daily special entree, and one beer and one $13 glass of wine, with tip our meal cost just over $100. I continue to go back, about once a quarter, which tells you that I am willing to pay for the experience and food.

2023-08-25 04:24:46Local gem for sure! The food is absolutely delicious and the staff are attentive and friendly. Really go out of their way to make you feel at home. I 100% recommend. But make a reservation. This place is popular!

2023-05-01 01:26:31Delicious authentic Italian food, friendly, quick, and accommodating service, and an intimate, romantic atmosphere that somehow remains family friendly. The linguine was perfectly al dente. The servers speak Italian, and are very knowledgeable and accommodating. It was a great experience.

2022-12-16 20:29:53Intimate wine bar and authentic Italian restaurant nestled in a plaza in Poway. Everything is amazing here but get the bread pudding in the caramel sauce, it is the best bread pudding that Ive ever experienced, and Ive ordered it at many restaurants.

2023-11-08 02:59:47Went there for appetizers and a couple of drinks at the bar. The Aperol Spritz was very good. My first Negroni was weird, not bad but not standard. The second was excellent (after the bartenders changed shifts).Fried calamari was good. The prosciutto and buratta was horrible. Burratta was tasteless. Prosciutto was nothing but salt. Not sure if we will go back

2020-01-09 00:25:32Walked past it for years, assuming it was more upscale then were used to. Decided to finally give them a try this weekend. The patio had heaters but I wish they were more spread out (the only negative). The waiter was very attentive, we didnt wait long for anything! The bread they serve was warm, and delicious (they were supposed to bring out olive oil to dip but forgot- its fine, the patio was busy and we never did remind him. The bread was great on its own and with the marinara provides). Then we got bruschetta and it was simple and fresh but very tasty- with super chunky tomatos and not a ton of extra stuff weighing it down. It was gone in seconds. The best thing was the off-menu butternut squash ravioli with gorgonzola sauce - looked plain on the plate but we wanted seconds once they were gone! The pasta was vodka sauce and salmon was good, and I wished there were a few more croutons in my panzanella salad but with the chicken added it was still really good. Will be back to try more of the entrees!
