I brought my Filipino family visiting from the east coast here, and they absolutely LOVED it! Even though they are a hard bunch to impress, I was very happy to make it known that quality Filipino food was accessible - not greasy, overly salty but well-made! We got lots of dishes to share so bring a group to be able to try them all!

Had to do some indoor dining while visiting San Diego. This Filipino restaurant did not disappoint. Great customer service and food prepared well. Restaurant was not practically empty with 1-2 other tables filled. There were lots of take out or delivery service pick ups.

We had the family style dinner where they put banana leaves on the table and all the food on top of it. Its a fun concept but your hands get real greasy (they do provide water to rinse your fingers).The food was good and so was the service. In my opinion the beef was the best. The coconut stew was really good too but a little spicy. This is a great place to go with a large group. I would go with a group of at least 4. Otherwise, it will be too much to share.

Went here 2021 on a 4th of July date with a former boyfriend before he got deployed. The waiters and MC made it very special. Regardless, Beautiful atmosphere, old school vintage Manila. So romantic too perfect for couples and family. Excellent food, high quality!!! Remember growing up in Manila and loving these dishes and this restaurant did them justice

So if youre looking for some delicious and authentic Filipino food, Villa Manila is thee spot to go! Stop in and try out the menu. My fav dish, as of now, has to be Kare-Kare. Kare-Kare was not delicious, not used real peanut butter instead they used a starch. I got sick after I ate. The food used to be delicious not anymore after Pandemic. I will stop going to Villa Manila which I do not mind paying higher cost of food as long it is delicious. Over all I am so disappointed .

Came here with my husband the other day.Loved the Nilaga ng Baka, and Chicken! Not too pricey,very generous with the portions. Great service and also fast. Clean as well! Will be going back later on again with my family. Recommend this 5 stars!

When in San Diego and you want Filipino Food, Villa Manila Restaurant in National City is a must. Great for celebrations for large families and offers a great kamayan experience (eating with your hands).Posted are pics and their menu. Filipino food at its best! We had the tinola soup, fried chicken and beef steak. Dessert was Turon and the best Ive had!Tinola soup: great broth, half a chicken with ginger and chayote and malongay leaves. Filipino fried chicken: non breaded, crispy skin and juicy meat. Filipino beef steak: simmered beef in a brown gravy with onions and with an acid kick at the end. The interior is worn but pleasantly homey. Very friendly staff. Will keep going back!!

Fantastic!!!! What an amazing experience!!! Went to a birthday celebration there! The food was spread out on banana leaves down the middle of the long table. Rice first then all the meats and vegetables 😋. It was beautiful and totally delicious! We ate with our hands!!! I love this place!! If you want awesome food with an experience this is your place!!!! First time here😡 please stop charging over price food with small portions! Goldilocks gives bigger amounts of food. Pork sinigang was so small it can only feed 2-3 people for $17. Our family of 6 are visiting from Vegas and we started looking for a good authentic Filipino food in San Diego area so we used Google to find one and we end up at this place called Villa Manila on National City....Lets just say were definitely NOT going back there nor recommend to eat there...Im sorry but the food is nasty. We ordered Kare Kare but the meat taste old and way too salty, the House Fried rice has 2 curly hair on it, the bangus sisig is so dry and over cooked. In top of that the Sagot Gulaman has a sandy after taste and oily substance in top of the water. The mango shake doesnt taste anything close to a mango. The only couple things that is good about this place are 1) The server seems to be nice 2)The Tokwat baboy is not bad and 3) The Coke is good to wash all the after taste we have in our mouth. And lastly its way over price for a poor quality food.

Easily accessible accessible from nearby streets. Plenty parking even though there are numerous businesses in the strip mall. Will likely return for different dishes.

I would give no stars if possible. I called ahead to make sure they had space for my family. They assured me it would not be a problem and we would be seated right away. When we got there they shared it would be 20 minutes, then it changed to one hour. When asked what happened to our reservation, he said a deposit needed to be made and “that was earlier.”Completely unprofessional, they attempted to defend themselves by redirecting the blame to us.We spoke with someone waiting outside, he shared he’d been waiting over 30 minutes for calamari.Don’t waste your time.

Very bad experienced. One of the waiter I just saw him picking up the trash in the floor and not even washing hands after that instead he serve the food what he have on his cart. Food taste so salty as well as the pancit! As a certified Food Safety Manager I found that this restaurant is not a good place to eat... Me and my friends suppose to do kamayan at that time but. Oh well We will never come back to this horrible restaurant again!

The food taste good, nice setting and good ambiance. It is quite expensive but they are a good amount of serving. Seems like most of the other reviewers ate kamayan style, with the banana leaves on the table, no plates or silverware. It was our first time eating here and didnt realize that was an option, it wasnt offered either and I dont believe it would have made a difference. Let me start off with the service, my mom and aunt sat down about 5 mins before my sister and I showed up. I was told our server didnt ask for drink orders or anything until my aunt caught her attention. Once my sister and I showed up she finally came to bring the drinks after we had been there for a while already. She was NOT friendly, she didnt seem rushed but just had an attitude. Second, the food was not good at all. The oil the calamari was fried in was obviously old and dark brown. The sinigang was bland and had more baby bok-choy than anything else. The ginataang I ordered with shrimp because thats how I make it and like it, she came back with pork. When asked for it to be fixed it was obvious the kitchen just took the pork out, heated up some tiny salad shrimps and tossed it in there, it didnt even smell like coconut, it smelled like bacon. Also, WAAAYYYY more kamanyang (string beans) than anything else. Back to the service, once I asked for my food to be fixed it just got worse. She snatched up with dish with a short ok and never came back to ask how anything else was. She didnt apologize for the mixed up and didnt say anything when she came back with the corrected dish. We waited almost 20 mins to finally be able to catch her attention and even then, my aunt had to go up to the front to get her attention. This place gets one star because the other server, the one who seemed a bit older than our server, we flagged her down to ask to talk to a manager, they apparently dont have one. But she took care of us and was very friendly, she apologized for the service and the food and took care of everything. Suffice it to say I will never be back here and anyone who asks is going to get the full horrible run down.

Dont go there at all! None of the utensils were clean, 3 orders came with hair in it. The food wasnt fresh at all and overcooked! The most important thing is we didnt even order refill drink or icecream and without saying anything they brought them and they charged the icecream and refill at the end of our meal! My friends had already seated. I arrived 15 min. later and the servers saw me walk in. The servers came around with water refills and did not notice I had no water. I had to ask for a cup of water 10 min. later because I was thirsty.Food is decent. The kare kare and sig sig is good. Pancit is not authentic, I paid almost $80 bucks for 4 entree, Kare kare too salty for my taste bud $26, you can basically taste the flour that they use to thickened the soup. Tortang talong, did not even bothered to take off the stem and instead they buried it under a layering of flour batter so I almost broke my tooth when I tried to bite it. halo halo you can count the ingredients with one hand. $8, pancit that is so salty and dry. Im from out of town, this is the first Filipino restaurant that pops up when i googled it. So just a heads up, you should try some other Filipino cuisine around before going to this one. There’s plenty to choose from.

Borderline over friendly staff who I love! They have fantastic authentc filipino dishes with am opportunity to eat traditionally with your hands on banana leaves on Thursdays. I would recommend the lechon, the fried chicken and chicken Adobe. They also have dishes like kare-kare which I also like. There is also a great selection of delicious desserts so save room!

Rest room had only one sink which was clogged. I think it should have three sinks or at least a tiled trough with three faucets at which customers can wash and rinse their hands after indulging in kamayan fare which usually leaves hands all sticky with rice and spit.The little rinse bowl of lemon and water provided at the table was pathetically insufficient with a half teaspoon sized but of lemon in about five tablespoons worth of water. Seriously? You expect customers to be able to sufficiently rinse their fingers with this miniscule amount of water in a bowl?Other than that, the food was typically Filipino and good. Not ideal for kamayan, though, due to the limited sanitation and clogged sink.Zarlitos restaurant, a block away, does not have kamayan, but regular utensil fare, and the food there is also delicious!If Villa Manila can install three working faucets and reliable plumbing, Ill come back.

The food was very miss leading i ordered the chicken pancit and i received Ramen noodle with chicken that looked premade, ive had pancit numerous times and this was by far the worst,very disappointed.
