Cute place with a classic vibe. The food is never amazing but they never miss the mark and the prices are fair. Minus two stars because the service has been randomly rude to me on a few recent visits.

This place was highly recommended but when I tried it for myself, I was so disappointed. Bacon and pancakes was over cooked, practically burned...I used to work in a coffee shop and the owners would never allow pancakes so dark to go out looking like this, but if this is highly recommended than it’s definitely not for me! 👎🏽
Quick service, and delicious food at a reasonable price. The owner seems to know everyone who walks through, which creates an awesome ambience for regulars and first timers like myself. I added a picture of the soup that came with my turkey burger, but I annihilated that burger quickly. Yum.
First time at VIPS and very pleased. I had a delicious chicken and vegetable Chinese dish. So filling have enough left for lunch tomorrow.Will definitely return very soon. Waitress and entire staff very friendly.

The owners are kind people who genuinely welcome everyone who enters. The menu is varied so something for everyone.They hung in during the hardest part of Pandemic and I am grateful they thrived as a business. Food is good and they are lovely about accommodations.Extra bonus: if you are a John Wooden fan, he used to eat there regularly.

My parents go here everytime they come to California, and myself when I am here.They have been here a long time.Always enjoy going here, people working here are always really nice and several have worked there for many years.This time I had the ham and cheese omelet, it is pretty good size and then country fries. Omelet and fries were really good.My Dad had eggs over easy with fried rice and polish sausage. His was good as well.Service is always great, they have better than most coffee that they always keep my cup filled with.They are always really nice, this is half the reason to go.

They required proof of vaccination, which we pulled up on our phones. The price points were slightly above bargain discounts, for example the salmon bagel was a buck or two more than Western Bagel. The food tasted good, the portions were enough for big appetites. The service was excellent. We were seated half an hour before our friend joined us, and we stayed talking until almost closing without being guilted into leaving.

I love this place. We eat breakfast here pretty much every weekend. The food is great and the price are extremely reasonable. You can bring the whole family here and it wont break the bank at all. The service is fast so you are not spending all morning there waiting. For some reason (Im okay with it and lets keep this a hidden gem), there isnt ever a wait to be seated. This is definitely a regular spot.
Quaint stop on Ventura. The food was okay. I ordered the chicken with eggs. The chicken was tough. Couldnt eat it. My friends ordered tuna sandwich and shrimp tacos. They said it was okay. I might try it again but wasnt that impressed!

Legendary basketball coach John Wooden used to have breakfast here at 8am sharp 7 days a week, and its easy to understand why. Staff never changes. I go here at least once a week. My FAVORITE place to eat for the last 7 years. Big portions with amazing taste, good pricing, amazing people, and validation for 1.5 hours parking behind the buildings (on the other side of the brick fence next to BoA). You can sit outside with your animals as long as theyre friendly! I have taken many people here and no one leaves disappointed.

Basic diner food. The scrambled eggs were browned and overcooked. I was craving bacon and I was disappointed. The 3 strip I got were petrified. They had been baked in the oven, which is normal practice for a restaurant, however I took one bite and it broke into tiny pieces. I get it that some like their bacon well done. This bacon was bad. The fresh squeezed oj was great as well as the service.

Every time we want to eat a hearty breakfast in the valley, we head straight to VIPs. This place never disappoints. The three of us ordered the breakfast special with Belgian waffles, eggs and sausages, the Denver omelet with hash browns and 2 poached eggs with fruit salad. We shared and it was all yummy. This is a family run business thats been a fixture on Ventura Blvd for many years. The owner is super friendly and the service is excellent.

I also didnt like the service, we waited about 30 minutes for someone to take our order. Those people who came after us served them before us. And this is taking into account that there were few people in the hall.

2022-06-05 23:45:21Cute little cafe with nice interior. They have celebrity photos on the wall of all their guests over the years. The owner is very nice and greets all his guests. They have a bar area to sit at, booths, and a patio if you want to eat outside on a nice day. I love coming for breakfast and they have specials if you come before 11am. This time around I had their French toast and my husband had the corn beef hash. They have free parking In the rear of the building, you cant see it from the street but there are signs that will direct you.

2022-06-10 06:13:54Discovered this place after I moved home after leaving the Navy. I’ve been embraced as family and they watched mine grow as well. The food is comforting, diverse, fresh and there’s always something for everyone on the menu. My favorite has always been the California Delight an egg scramble heavily loaded with fresh, coarsely chopped garlic and spinach that works so great with their house salsa. Breakfast, brunch, or lunch I find myself coming back.

2020-02-27 00:17:31Like always found this place while driving around looking for a local cafe to eat at. I love the feel of a 70s cafe, especially one that has a lot of history as this one does. The inside still looks and feels like the 70s and the pictures on the wall add to that. The food was ok..I love biscuits n gravy and I would give this place 5 starts but my biscuit was a little old and hard. The gravy was the best Ive had in a long time, hopefully Ill get to stop by again and have a better experience.
