Staff very helpful. we were accidentally given the birria tacos (sorry to that customer), it was really good. Tried a little bit of everything. Sad to hear they no longer carry mac n cheese. Id come back.

Was picking up a bed frame in Upland and saw this gem pop up on Happy Cow. From the bright neon signs to the lively and diverse playlist they had on, the workers’ own energy and personality matched the welcoming environment of the restaurant perfectly. The food was in a league of their own - up there with the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. I 100% recommend the Birria Tacos and the Tamale plate to really see how well this place has honed their craft. Look forward to coming back soon!

Well this was my second visit. Round 1 I went mostly basic with a taco trio. I liked 2/3. I also got the hot chicken…I demolished it I was very surprised by the quality. I will say I saw on Instagram a fried chicken with enoki mushroom, and they do sell them near you at 99 ranch, so could be worth a try with your recipe. This time I got the Philly, now, I’m an east coaster by birth so I have high standards that have never been met at vegan venues. There also used to be a vegan burger shop that tried and failed to do tacos…so I was nervous. Wow, best vegan Philly I’ve ever had. Kinda a strange shape, but I understand (same bread they serve with the NHC) it also came with fries which I really am enjoying (I‘m picky with fries too) so all around, def worth a try! They have garnered trust with me in their ability to accomplish dishes—a steep challenge in the vegan market. AND on their temporary menu they have chicken and waffles so that will be my next exploration. Keep up the good work!!

The best vegan food ever. There is a pig in the windows which means in summary no pig.I came yesterday, back today with friends.Sorry I should have taken the pictures before I started eating.Update: I went again for the third time on Monday may 1st. They were very nice however the food was horrible: I dont know what happened. I spend $33.00 I wish I had my money back.

Viva vegan is in my top 5 favorite vegan spots! This location has more to offer on the menu and seating which is awesome. I got the breakfast burrito def one of my go tos. I have never been dissatisfied with anything they put out keep continuing to be one of the best! 👍👍

Please give Jose a raise. Everytime I go in and hes there, everything is running smoothly although he always seems swamped with how busy it is. Always great customer service from Jose.Ive been in there before when there were a few teenage boys working behind the counter and the service was a little lack luster.The food is great, excellent, its why i keep coming back!I feel if there was more quality staff to help this place would be unstoppable!

Staff is very nice, the food is hit or miss, so that’s what keeps us from going back regularly especially since everything is extremely overpriced. The vegan quesabirrias are very good but at $7 for 1 taco YIKES … Their Chile relleno burrito is pretty solid but again it is pricey! I think this place has a lot of growing to do and hopefully in the process they lower the prices or make the portions larger. I’m all about supporting vegan restaurants but I also don’t want to pay $20 for a meal that may or may not be worth it that day.

You honestly can’t even tell it is vegan. Try all the salsas—they are fresh and house made. The chile relleno burrito is a famous local cult favorite but it’s always sold out everytime I go. Can’t wait to try it one day. Pretty much everything I have tried here is good. Get the coconut water—even if you don’t like coconut water—it’s slightly sweet and very refreshing! The service is a little long though—expect to wait about 20 minutes for your food. Staff can also be slightly rude/inattentive sometimes. Just get take out—the food is worth it.

My husband and I loved our experience here. Classic diner menu with burgers, sandwiches, burritos, etc.His California Burrito was the best! Awesome carnitas. The place could use an upgrade to their interior design/decorations but overall a great experience.

Food was delicious but the portions were a bit small and was very expensive for what you get. I got a cali burrito with asada and the length of the burrito was no longer than my hand and not very thick. Too small for $15. Again was delicious but the cost will greatly limit the number of visits I would make.

There is a lot of vegan Mexican food spots coming up in the IE, but I’m glad that this was the first time I had birria tacos.I would recommend the 4 birria taco meal if they still have it, because 3 tacos isn’t easy to share.I ordered a mango agua fresca that came in a little take home container.Keep an eye out for this place, I hope to visit again soon to see the rest of their menu.

The food is good however, they generously use canola oil for the proteins, so be prepared for some heartburn ❤️‍🔥. Additionally, please note that it took them approximately 50 minutes to serve the food.

Shocked to find a place like this in Upland from all places. Definitely need more places that sell this kind of food east of LA. Friendly service and good food. I would like to see the interior in better shape. Very messy inside with half the dining room used as storage. And stay open later! 8pm is way too early. I went to pick up my order at 7:45 and the place was more than half way full.

I’ve been a fan of Viva Vegan since they opened their first location in Colton. Their food has all the right components blended: spices, texture and taste. You can add the right spicy level based on your heat level with their salsas.The bad part is that they’ve ruined many other Mexican vegan places for me since they don’t compare to Viva Vegan. 😆This location in Upland is conveniently located in a shopping mall area with plenty of parking. They have sufficient space inside for a small gathering. They also have a few seats outside.My favorite foods from them are the street tacos with asada and the Chile relleno burrito. But find your own favorites by trying something from their menu.

I really want to give them 5 stars.The first visit, the food was off the charts. The taco plate was delish. Food was hot and youd never guess it was plant based. HOWEVER, the dining room was dirty. Food on the floor, dirty tables and it does take a while for the food to come out.The second visit, dining room was still dirty. Floor needs moping and tables cleaned. Food was good but only warm to the touch.Third visit, floor still has food on the floor although the tables seemed a little cleaner. This time, I found a hair in my tacos. I notice no one wears hair nets. They gave me a new plate and it was good.Forth visit, I saw hair nets being warn and the food was warm.Fifth visit, no hair nets, tacos were warm but the rice and beans were cold. Not even warm. This time the tacos were spicier than last time. I thought it was required that food was supposed to be at a certain temperature...Bottom line, if their food was HOT and consistent in taste, Id be here more often. Of course, a clean atmosphere would be nice. They also need more drink options. But for these kind of problems, they are expensive to be serving cold food. Im super bummed because I wanted to give them 5 stars.

I got the 420 box for my first here! It came with Asada & El pastor tacos centered fries!! It was so good, can’t wait to bring my family and fries to try other stuff on the menu!!!Plus the customer service is amazing!! I have a fractured ankle with a boot and they helped me to my car with my Togo order. I appreciate that, most places just look at my boot and say here you and turn around.

Delicious flavors in every dish. Jackfruit Mac and cheese was delightfully creamy and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The Birria Ramen was lipsmakin goodness. The dish had a wonderful depth of flavors from smokey spicy and savory. Both dishes were also a touch heavy on the salt, which personally, I think they could pull back on and that would make the dishes that much better. Overall, delicious. I am definitely going back to try everything else on the menu!

Well after waiting an 1 hour to only find out the spot wasnt that busy with Uber Eats or Door Dash orders. The problem was the cashier didnt place my $35 order..really disappointing..theres a really nice lady that works there and shes friendly and shes very personable and she saw me waiting and provided me with some assistance

This place is incredible. Such a great find on the way back to San Diego from Lone Pine. Their birria is absolutely out of this world. It’s worth popping off the highway for this if you’re passing through. Definitely a lunch spot.

The place was very busy and Ill take that into consideration and probably try it one more time. That being said, after waiting for 20 minutes they came out to tell us they were out of something. No big deal. 10 minutes later our food came out and the orders were wrong but close enough that we just ate them because we didnt want to wait another 30 minutes to get our food again. The food with the exception of the nacho cheese was fairly bland. All things considered, I would have given them 1 start but the nacho cheese was so good, I had to add 2 stars for that alone.**UPDATE**Went back and tried it again. So glad we did. They were clearly just having an off day. The food here was everything the other reviews have stated and ao was the service. A little sad this location is. Losing but at least Colton is too far away. Will definitely be eating here again!!!

We went here for the first time on a Sunday around 6pm near the time they close at 7, not knowing that they are only open on the weekends. So, they were out of a few items, but they were able to accommodate our order for some birria tacos. It was delicious! Also had the Cali Tacos, which were muy bueno! I was really looking forward to the food here. My fiancé and I were set on the Chimibirria and chorizo fries, but I didn’t get the cup of sauce for my chimibirria, nor did I not get my chorizo fries. They got my order wrong. I was upset I ordered online. When I got to the restaurant to pick up my food, they were working on it. They’re busy I understand I take that under consideration, but a little girl that works there told me they ran out of protein meat I wanted for my fries. So, I choose a different kind. When I drove back home I didnt check to see if I had the cup of sauce for the chimibirria and the fries I got was mushrooms. I didnt order mushroom fries. I wasted my money... Ill give this place a another chance. I learned my lesson check your order before leaving.
