Wow, I walked in a bit unsuspecting since it was pretty quiet inside for a late lunch but the food was yummy and the staff helpful and friendly. Half half noodles and salad base, Vn pork, veggies, and Vn sauce. Yum. Plentiful protein and all around really nicely flavored and well balanced. Great size for lunch and already plated in a to-go type cardboard bowl.Also got the loaded nori fries that came with a little pork, carrot, daikon, cilantro, seaweed, and a light sauce. Also really good but a tad messy considering the shredded carrots and daikon. Still tasty and would get it again, just be prepared with chopsticks or really get into it.Atmosphere is modern, fast casual, order and pick up at the counter. Think vietnamese bowls that can be customized like a poke or chipotle bowl. Again, really nice staff and good food. Give it a try, Id go again!

My experience at the Vietnamese restaurant was absolutely delightful! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy ambiance. The menu offered a wide variety of authentic Vietnamese dishes, each bursting with flavors and aromatic herbs. The pho I ordered was a bowl of heaven, with tender beef and a rich, fragrant broth. Very fresh, healthy Asian Fusion for a very reasonable price! We got the Rice Noodles with Lemongrass chicken, all the vegetables with signature sauce, Ban Mi Tacos and egg rolls. I know that I am going to be raving this place when I get back to Utah! Very, very fresh and tasty!

Taste is good and the veggies are so fresh. The only thing is ...the pork was a little overcooked, so I felt a bit dry and not tendon enough. Highly recommend to choose rice noodle as your choice. The texture is so smooth and can absorb the sources so well. It is good to combine with the veggies. Overall, I feel satisfied of their dishes.

This is my second time coming here since I wanted to try other items on the menu. The food here is very fresh, price is decent for the bowls, and the portion will get you full. I especially love their Kalbi beef bowl. Spring rolls are a bit pricy ($4.25) for two rolls but I cantresist. Must try their nori fries!!!

We came here because my friend has been wanting to try this place. I was down since it looked interesting and I like trying different things that I’ve never tried like the Banh Mi Tacos. I got an order of that it was alright. The tortillas were meh and the meat was flavorful and cooked well, but it did not taste like a Banh Mi. Really all the had to do was replace the bread with a tortilla, but it tasted too fusion and Americanized for what I was expecting. I also got the shrimp eggroll and they’re not kidding when they call it “mini”. It comes with 4 in a tray and you can pretty much shove it all in your mouth. It was okay and needed some sauce for flavor.Overall, it was okay, but didn’t really satisfy what I was expecting.

First time here tonight for dinner and it was amazing. First up the atmosphere feels like you are walking into a small food hall. The staff was friendly and there was an option to order from a kiosk. The food came out quick and everything was so fresh. The bowls were exactly what we wanted and tasted so good. Well be back for sure!

This was my first time here and I thought Id try it out out.You basically choose the base, protein, vegetables, and sauce.I chose rice noodles, VN pork, assorted vegetables, and VN sauce (their signature sauce). Overall, it was very flavorful and a good-sized portion. The only thing is the pork seemed it was precooked and sat for a while.I also ordered a Bahn Mi Taco. It was beef but Im wondering if you can choose the protein. Ill ask next time.

I really enjoyed my meal from here. The pork was tender and not too fatty, plus the added veggies made for a very refreshing meal. The coffee had the perfect amount of sweetness. I also very much appreciated that their to-go materials all appear to be recyclable or compostable, even down to the paper straw. There is something here for everyone; I highly recommend a visit!

We literally order take out from VN Grill weekly, so Im not so sure how Ive skipped on writing a review. The food here is fresh, tasty, and great quality. I usually order the salad bowl with shrimp and VN sauce. Love the ability to customize. The employees are always friendly and our order is always correct (we usually order 6 bowls at a time). Oh, and the mint/cucumber lemonade is ridic!

A true gem of San Jose Vietnamese fusion food. The banh mi tacos are a perfect blend of flavor that makes for an amazing lunch -- the brightness of the pickled vegetables mesh perfectly with the subtlety sweet and juicy pork meat, with the shredded lettuce adding a delightful balance and crunch to each bite. The loaded nori fries are also well worth an honorable mention -- the sauce adds the perfect ever-so-slight kick to this savory, starchy delight. To top it off, the cucumber-mint lemonade is the ideal refresher on a warm afternoon -- not too sweet, and very well-balanced in flavor. Service was friendly, quick, and polite. Overall I cant say enough positive things about this place! Absolutely will be returning sometime soon because I simply cant get enough.

This place was clean and empty when I arrived a little after the lunch rush. They promptly took my order, I decided to eat in since I usually eat my lunch in my car and I’m so over that. I love being able to order my lunches from their VN Grill app. I can get fresh, delicious, and healthy food without fighting the crowds. Parking can be hard during the week, but don’t let that scare you off. It’s crowded because the food is THAT good.

The best fresh food in the area. I get the rice noodles with lemon grass chicken and all the veggies. The tamarind sauce really give the whole dish some nice sweetness while the chili sauce still gives it some kick. Overall a great blend of flavors and textures

The food here is fresh, fast, and good. Fish sauce isnt for everyone, but give it a chance, and it just might surprise you. You can customize your bowl in many ways, and when I first went, the owner was kind enough to explain all the options. You dont have to get the fish sauce, by the way. Its much more crowded these days, but that must mean a lot of people agree with me. Pricing is reasonable, though seating can sometimes be limited. Tables and floor are clean and well-maintained. Simple, healthy, and completely worth the price you pay. I have always left satisfied, and if that doesnt deserve five stars, what does?

This is a good place for quick food. They are very good about keeping meat from touching vegetarian dishes, and all the staff are familiar with the ingredients and possible allergens.The only thing I dont like is that a lot of the ingredients they put in the bowls are cold, and some, such as the bean sprouts, arent cooked.

Great speedy service and attendance. The waiters and waitresses were quick to clean up and notify us a table was ready. Literally so quick I couldnt pick up the phone call notification and they were already looking for us.Before we order, our waitress informed us clearly and thoroughly about the different dishes and warning about the hot plate. Immediately after she left to Fletch us cups of water, another waitress already gave us water and the first one came back. It happened so quickly and well timed.And roughly a few minutes later (literally) the beef Curry and garlic beef were served. Again, warning about the plate given by the server and another waitress.Overall the services were fast but not rushed or chaotic. It might sounded like it was unorganized but it was just observant waiters and waitresses being so quick on their feet and noticing what the customers need. They all talked calmly and all the tables and bottles were clean. The teriyaki and garlic shoyu bottles and pepper grinder were not dusty nor sticky to the touch.The dishes we ordered were delicious and definitely my taste. The butter on top seemed to have mixed in seasoning and garlic (I tried the butter before it melt, thats what it tasted like to me). The beef were juicy and flavorful. The curry was just Japanese curry. I cant taste the difference between their curry and other Japanese curry.

Food is pretty much your typical Vietnamese cold noodle dish. I personally didnt enjoy it, it was too much noodles and not enough greens and protein. I got the shrimp and it was itty-bitty. Taste and flavor is alright. But if you like the Vietnamese cold noodles, I would suggest go to your community mom and pop Vietnamese pho shop. Youll get more for what youre paying for.

Great Vietnamese rice/noodle bowls. I particularly enjoyed the fact that the sauce is given on the side, and so you can put as much (or as little) of it as you want. The meat delicious and you get a good amount of other toppings (vegetables, etc).I would avoid the Vietnamese summer rolls - they did not have any flavor. However, their rice bowls were so good that I still give them 5 stars.Price was very cheap and service was friendly/fast.

I love this place! Whenever I dont feel like cooking or having a busy day. I just stop by this place or order a takeout. The service is fast and friendly. The lady took some time after taking my order to chat with me about fitness and healthy eating, which was a very engaging conversation. She is very helpful and let me take picture of a bag of special noodles purely made of vegetables substituting for rice noodles since Im cutting down eating carbs. Overall, their food is very healthy. Lots of vegs and meats are all great! I never tried their pork. Their chicken is tender, not too dry(majority of restaurant chicken are DRY) this place chicken is marinated with lemongrass and taste super good with savory fish sauce. Beef is so tasty that I wouldnt believe I could find a place like this that could cook this delicious beef. Butter marinated shrimps are amazing also! still their dishes have Asian style tastes, with little amaziness like a little bit basils and green onion added to their bowls that make the dish more flavorful. I need to come to this place twice a month, besides cooking at home. I have no doubt to say this place saved me, in this country where fast junk foods are everywhere..

I have visited VN Grill since it opened a few years ago. Generally I get the noodle bowls but have sampled all of the protein selections. Cant say I have a favorite; all are yummy. I like that they get locally made tofu. I always enjoy the freshness of the veggies; LOVE the pickles carrots & daikon.Recently visited a nearby similar restaurant - NO COMPARISON! I LOVED this place. Yum Yum Yum. My only disappointment is that there isnt one closer to my house or in downtown San Jose where I work. Seriously, this was BOMB.Came here on Saturday with my mom and my daughter. My daughter opted to walk over to Noahs and grab a bagel but came over and ate it with my mom and I. The owner was nice enough not to boot her out. lol Cute little place with a comfortable feel. It was pretty crowded but we found a place to sit right away.I ordered the bowl with rice noodles, shrimp, and all the fixins with the citrus sauce. - YUM! These shrimp were literally the best shrimp Ive ever had. I could taste the char from the grill and they were cooked perfectly. the noodles were great and the veggies were crisp and flavorful. The citrus sauce was super lite and added the perfect amount of sweetness and tang. YUM!!!Mom ordered the bowl with lettuce, chicken and the sesame dressing. That too was great but I would choose the citrus sauce over the sesame in the future. And the chicken was abundant but a tad on the dry side.I would like to try the tofu next time but I probably wont. I have a feeling I will ALWAYS get the shrimp. Fresh, tasty, oh so good. Please open one downtown San Jose or in Campbell Pleeeeeeeeease!!!

When describing what kind of food this place had, my friend said it was like Asian Chipotle. I see her point, but to me its more like an upgraded version of Flame Broiler (if youre from SoCal, you know what Im talking about). Either way, the common denominator is that if you want to be healthy, this is definitely a good idea. I think how the menu is laid out has been covered already. But for me, brown rice, pork, cucumbers, lettuce, bean sprouts, and VN sauce. Just enough food to fill me up, but I felt pretty healthy after eating it.Although I wasnt really expecting to come here, I would definitely come back here again. One of my favorite places to eat for a quick lunch or dinner. I usually get the VN Pork with Rice along with the VN Sauce. Paired with a viet coffee its the best with no hassle of going to a Vietnamese restaurant for vermicelli. The seating is scarce, but usually open as most take the food to-go.

When I first walked in, I thought this place was quite similar to Asian Box in Mountain View. Pick a meat, pick a carb, pick your veggies, and pick your sauces. The difference is that this place gives it a Vietnamese spin to it.I ordered a chicken rice bowl with a side of mini shrimp eggrolls, which were about the size of a pinky and really delicious. The chicken rice bowl came with a lots of chicken, and a decent amount of everything else. I liked that they leave all the sauces on the side and you can add as much or as little as you want.I tried both the fish sauce and tamarind vinaigrette, and they mixed well together.There were also several large TVs playing football, so this might be a great place to chill.
