Went here for the chili cheese fries because of reviews. I wasnt disappointed. I got lucky when I went. Drive-thru was pretty empty, but I went before the kids were out. Only 2 cars in front. Ordered and received food within 7 minutes. Chili cheese fries were delicious and my jr cheeseburger on the side was perfect. Spent about $13. Ate it all. Fries were still crispy when I got to my destination and started eating them. Was 😴 afterwards though.

I stopped here after picking up donations for my Nonprofit. One of the workers at Food Finders suggested this place.I ordered the plain double bacon cheeseburger for my husband with seasoned fries.I ordered the mushroom cheeseburger with bacon for myself. I got light sauce but there were too many onions. I wouldnt mind if they were sauteed, but they were raw.Next time I would ask if the onions can be sauteed, if not then I would skip them. The burger was absolutely delicious! I would definitely visit again.There were a lot of fries. They filled the fry bag and dumped more in the bag. There was enough for me and my husband to share the fries.

I only go through the drive thru I have never eaten inside. The place is always busy but service is pretty fast and food is delicious. They ALWAYS get your order correct and the employees are friendly and helpful. My go to place when I dont want to cook even though there are many places closer!

I changed the Rate from 5 Stars to 2 Stars. Before I ordered a BLT Sandwich & a Taco. Those were Good Taste, however, a LAVA Burger was Pretty Bad. I also ordered a Chili Dog. It was Good.Anyway, TOO WATERY ! ! There was a Block of Lettuce that included Water in its Layers. It did not look like LAVA.I felt Employees wanted to keep or Protect their way even Customers asked Anything. I asked them to give me some Napkins to wipe the Table. She replied that they would do it. However, I had to wait a Couple of Minutes. It was an easy thing to hand in Some Napkins to me, wasnt it?

Always go by and long lines. So had more free time today. (Long lines got to be good). Got the Colossal Buger, has Pastrami i added Mushrooms, Gyro (big pieces of meet), and Chili cheese pastrami fries. So good. Now i see why such long lines. Great flavor, great portions. Meat was juicy and tender. Will definatly be back. Its not fast food. Little wait time. But worth the wait time.

I came here and the speakers worked terrible. Was not able to hear what the worker was saying and she could not hear us so we gave up and move through the line. The good thing is that the worker came out and took our order. She was very friendly. I got the steak plate And it was very good. I would come back another time. Hopefully they fix the speakers.

The food is great, but you always have to wait 15 to 30 minutes in the drive-thru. Its too hard to find a parking spot to get out and order. Why is the drive thru always slow when there is nobody ordering at the walk up. I guess people are adding to the orders when they get to the drive-thru window. Use to go fast, but not anymore.

I had their 1/4 lb volcano burger with onion rings and the sauce and meat are really good and they give you a lot of onion rings and the onion rings are really good too. I asked if the onion rings came with ranch and the cashier said they dont normally, but hell make an exception this time. Theyre super cool! It goes without saying that the ranch is really good too.Im going to try their colossal burger and lava burger the next two times I go there.

We always see this place with a line of cars pouring out into the street in the drive thru. So we decided to finally try it out. Not disappointed. Food was delicious, greasy and filling. All great attributes if a really good place. We now have our new go-to place for grub. If you dont go thru the drive thru, park on the street. I made the mistake of parking in the first slot and with all the cars coming, it was a miracle I got out. I know better now for next time. Which will be very soon. Good grub! Now I see what the line of cars is all about. You wont be disappointed!

Well we love it!!! As you can see, we always get, 2 burgers, 1 fish and chips (zucchini fries instead of fries) with coleslaw, and one chicken dinner with fries and salad. And we eat 5 at home. Great flavors and sizes.

When I visit SoCal this is a required stop. This is my all-time favorite burger place. I have never found anywhere else that can match their distinctive flavors. Maybe its the onions; maybe its the sauce. Maybe its something else. Who knows? All I know is no matter how much time has passed between visits, Volcano Burgers is always as good as I remembered. Also: their fries are perfect!

Walked up ordered the Chili Cheese Fries w/grilled onion on top & Lava Burger. Chili Cheese Fries was really good with a little kick of spice. I did not want the sauce on my lava burger but I want the other stuff in it. No jalapeño & the pepper jack cheese was in my burger. The person @ the window offer to fix it but I said no since I already bit into it but he was nice enough to give me the pepper jack. It was pretty busy & such a long line on the drive thru that created mad house on the parking lot. It is almost impossible to get out of the parking lot since the drive thru cars blocking the spaces.

Ive been going to Volcano burger since 2007 and currently I am not pleased with the food quality I used to go by just for the fries but lately the cooks are not getting it right the crispy yummy well seasoned French fries arent being done right and thay are almost double the price since before Covid its unfortunate that they werent able to sustain the delicious quality of food 😋 and keep the prices at a reasonable price I might be done with Volcano burger geez.

Do not judge a book by its cover. This is an older looking building but is definitely worth the stop. Amazing burgers and fries. But the real star of the show are the onion rings and shakes in my opinion. Do yourself a favor and make this a stop. You will not regret it.

UPDATE: We recently stopped by this past Sunday, 01/08/23, around 4:00 pm and ordered our usual burgers, fries, and chili cheese fries. My cheeseburger didnt taste right, it was as if they pre-cooked the patty and left it under a heat lamp and re-warmed it up. The bun was almost charcoal and whatever was left of it, was very tough. Out of the five burgers ordered, 3 of us experienced this and actually had upset stomachs later in the evening. This is the very first time we have ever experienced this. Volcano Burgers was our go to spot. Unfortunately, after this, not anymore. If they are trying to be cost effective, dont choose a lower grade of beef patties. We may try it again, or we may remove it from.our rotation. The jury is out on this one. Sorry Volcano Burgers, not sure if the times are changing and it has caught up to you now? Or this was a very rare occurrence?We love Volcano Burgers and have yet to have a bad experience here. Its always busy here, we stopped by last Saturday evening at 8 p.m. and it was packed, the drive thru was wrapped all the way around the building. I had my cheeseburger and fries, always on point! Great charbroiled taste to the burger, fries were crispy and salted just right, no soggy ones. The hubby had a cheeseburger and chili cheese fries, they are always so good! I wish I could still eat them all, but I cannot eat chil cheese fries like I used to do as a kid! But they are so good!

I ordered a tuna melt, fries, and a mr. Pibb. from the kid at the front — I received a Fanta- told the older guy that I actually ordered a pibb, he proceeded to show me that I ordered a Fanta. I said, no your cashier wrote that, then voiced that I verbally said mr. Pibb twice to the cashier and he confirmed. He replaced it with a mr.Pibb. Cool, not that big of a deal. I sit down and realized that I received a tuna sandwich, not a tuna melt. My whole family has been coming here longer than Ive been alive. My grandparents bought a home in Rossmoor in the mid 60s, my mom went to Los Al High in the 70s, by the time I was born in the 80s Volcano Burger was already a family tradition. We moved in the 90s out of state but would visit every year. The owner would always give my mom the newest shirts. Now that I live nearby again I go as often as I can. Sadly, my family above me has all since left us but I bring my son & it remains a family tradition. ♡

The very best charbroiled Burger ever, and the fries are cooked perfectly not greasy or soft, nice and crispy golden brown so many fries I couldnt finish them all. Im so impressed with this charbroiled burger, I travel all the way from my home in Orange and drive to Los Alamitos just to enjoy this burger, and thats about a 20 or 25 mile trip one way. First timer here. Were from San Diego, in town for the weekend and craving burgers tonight. Hit the jackpot with this joint, first because its so great and second because we slipped in right before a massive walk-up line started. Drive thru was down the street so we decided to eat in their outdoor patio area.I had the lava burger which has pepper jack cheese and jalapenos. Bomb!! I grew up in Cypress, so Ive eaten at Volcano Burger a million times. The chili cheese fries are the standard by which I judge all others. I had the steak sandwich and it was good. The steak not to chewy and my teeth could cut it without pulling the whole steak out of the sandwich. Had fried zucchini and it was good. The unsweet iced tea was freshly brewed and tasted good. The service was friendly and knowledgeable. Volcano burger is my familys favorite place. I ordered there an hour ago and paid with drive thru. I paid $60 in cash for a female employee with a red manicure. She scratched my finger with her fingernail when she grabbed the money from my hand. It could be a mistake. But when she gave me change, she dropped all my coins to the floor. Seeing the look on my face, she offered me 50 cents, but I refused. She didnt tell me she was sorry. I needed her apologize, not a coin that fell on the floor. I felt very bad buying food there today. The food is delicious, but the employees behavior is very disrespectful.

Volcano burger is rather simple but done very well. Of all the small burger restaurants it seems to easily be the best one for low cost filling burgers.The tuna fish sandwhich however was somewhat sweet, maybe some like that but I found it a tid gross. So be aware of the sweetness if yoy got for tunafish.Chili fries are great and prices are pretty good for the quality you get.

This is one of my favorite places to eat, it is my go-to comfort food, everything i’ve eaten has been delectable and hearty. The only thing keeping me from putting the fifth star is that 50+ blonde cashier with glasses and tattoos. She was awfully rude, ignored us and did not even receive a glance of recognition even after my dad left a tip for her and was very friendly. She had an awful attitude and was cold towards us. She has no experience with customer service. We’ve been to this place countless times and she is the only one to ever treat us that way, even the younger workers are better at customer service.

This is a small, busy, family style establishment that has been around for a long time.They have a wide variety of items on the menu, such as fried zucchini, fried mushrooms, chili cheese fries, gyros, and so on. Its a big menu!Moreover, their portions are generous, so an order of chili cheese fries, for example, can easily be shared by two persons.I especially enjoy their burgers and fries, which are delicious and unique from other places.Also, if you have an issue, they are very quick to respond, which is always a good sign of a business that cares about their customers experience.For example, I once ordered a bacon cheeseburger with an egg on top, sunny side up (I recommend it!), but the egg was cooked hard.When I brought it to their attention, they immediately fixed it, no questions asked, and even apologized for the mistake.I appreciated the way they handled it and its just one example of why I enjoy supporting this family owned business.Be forewarned though, they are always busy precisely because they are so popular in the local community, so be prepared to wait a little bit, especially using the drive through.However, their food really is worth the wait. I got a Cheeseburger and a Shake, and was happy to receive my meal about 10 minutes later. I ate at the outdoor tables, which were not the cleanest, however someone from the restaurant did wipe down the tables when I asked for some extra napkins to clean one off. The burger was plenty flavourful, with lettuce and sauce, and the Medium Shake was good, and very large. I ended up splitting it with a friend.Overall, I think Volcano Burger is a good place to stop by for a quick bite. However, I have heard its busy around lunch when school is open, since many students stop buy during their lunch break.

Dear owner or manager, please teach your cashier how to properly handle money and other items. Tall young guy with bun, handled our money then got our drinks. Problem was he used the same gloves after handling money which we all know is very dirty, he grabbed a few cups and split them apart grabbing the inside of the cup with the same glove. Four fingers on the inside of the cup and his thumb on the rim to pull the cups apart. Didn’t say anything because he needs to be corrected from management.on a good note I seen the cooks cleaning the grill and they had a tidy work space. Observed another young lady wiping down everything in sight and organizing which was very nice. Took an advice by my coworker who attended Los Al...since then Ive tried and now obsessed with their colossal burger and zucchini, oh yum! Tried their gyro sandwich was kinda meh ...I really like their chicken salad! They use romaine lettuce instead of the boring stand by Iceberg ...lots of cheese, slices of green/red bell peppers, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes...their menu is extensive, kinda overwhelmed and intimidated by it, so I stick to what I like... Oh the bacon cheeseburger is also another I have been obsessed with...did I mention their zucchini? Its fried, crispy, and piping hot! so good!!Great, Im hungry now...

Today, we went through the drive through around 4:25 pm and the cashier was extremely rude. She kept messing up our order and then she told us that we were changing our minds. Their pa system is very bad and loud. We have been coming here for many years and now we wont be coming again.

Great hamburgers most of the time. I graduated from Los Alamitos High so I grew up eating here. But of late the buns gave been a bit dry & they have been off on orders from the drive thru. Will continue to eat here just hope they get their act together again soon.

Ehh, it was ok. Taste wise, you can find these burgers anywhere, you sure get a whole lot of fries!. Quite pricey because there are no combos, everything is sold separately. I honestly feel the place is overrated.

I was born in Los Alamitos and Ive grown up here. Even though Ive lived in between vegas and cali for 7 years. Whenever I spend my holidays or summer break in cali I always come here. Ive grown up with Volcano Burger and from 2017-2019 my mom has worked at Volcano Burger. (If staff is reading this me and Katie said hiiii) This place has so much food and it all tastes so good. In-n-out really cant just be as good as you.

Very good burgers and fries. Pretty fast service. The only reason it wasnt given 5 stars is ... if you dont have cash, they get you with, 35 charge for using your card. And, getting out onto Cerritos Ave is a nightmare sometimes.

Volcano Burgers has been on my list too long. I decided to pick a burger up for lunch and eat it at home. For less than 5 bucks, the Colossal burger is a solid deal. The burger patty was a little thin, but there was so much pastrami that the meat to bun ratio was perfect.I dont know what it was but there was an added sweetness in the burger. Ive had some darn good pastrami and this was good for a burger place.The parking is a little tight especially when the drive through takes over the parking lot. Also, eat the burger while youre at Volcano. By the time I got home, the bottom of my bread was soggy.

Consistent quality, fantastic service and the best burgers money can buy. Especially when you used to be a high schooler with no money so the fact that theyre affordable meant everything. Get the chili cheese fries, do yourself a favor. Trust.
