The person serving me was nice, although slightly impatient as I had to do some bank stuff because the food was terribly expensive. Ended up costing $55 for me and my grandmother which I thought was crazy. On top of that, the food gave me the stomach flu for 3 days and was unable to leave my bed directly after eating it. I even made sure not to eat all of it because I’m aware that Chinese food can be heavy, and I had not eaten anything prior to this, or after. The food was just ok at best, will not be going here again.
I ordered the lunch special with chow mein and honey walnut shrimp, and added a sprite. Lunch specials come with a cheese puff, salad, and an egg roll. All of it was pretty tasty except the chow mein lacked flavor. I would definitely order from here again but wouldnt recommend the chow mein.

They had really great seevice. Made me feel like a long time customer even though it was my first time in. They gave us beef in our Mao Pao Tofu which I thought was always vegetarian. I think it’s my mistake but they were super nice and they made it again. I’ll come back for sure. Very hard working family it seems and they definitely deserve a shot.
My husband just picked up dinner. He asked for spicy broccoli beef and teriyaki chicken. Broccoli beef had no flavor and was not spicy and the teriyaki chicken was dry. Very disappointed . The guy even said spicy broccoli beef when he handed the food to him. Going back to China House

Dinner was decent. I’m really picky about Chinese restaurants allowing all of their dishes to have a “fishy” taste. I’m not going to say they passed with flying colors, we ordered at 7pm on a Sunday night and the “fishiness” was mild in comparison to some of the other area restaurants. I did want to point out that all of the menus I found online were extremely outdated and had really old prices. I ordered (3) items: chicken chow mein, cherry chicken, & broccoli beef and my total was $41.57.I just uploaded a current menu with a white background that has pricing. On average most dishes had gone up between $2-3 each. (Which is understandable given our current economic situation) I just want everyone else to have an accurate representation of pricing prior to ordering.

Before the prices went up aka before the pandemic. The food was great. Now that I have experienced the same food afterwards. I ordered many to go orders l. One after another was worse then before. They should be ashamed of themselves. I spent 30$ and wasnt worth one penny. Noodles cooked till they were gooey. To much sauce on the entree. No veggies in chowmein also put more gooey noodles at the bottom of entree to make the entree look bigger. So not worth my drive from winters. On top of that I found three beard whiskers in my spup sooooooo nasty. they have lost a great dedicated customer. So disrespectful. Please improve your business. For what I see it. Phenomenal meal tonight. The honey walnut chicken was amazing!!!! Incredibly tender chicken and a perfectly crispy yet not crumbly breading. The chow mein and veggie fried rice were delicious as ever. And then the Mongolian Beef nearly kicked my butt with spice and flavour.Thanks Wah Shine!

The peas in the fried rice were hard. It cost $80 for horrible food. Should have thought about the sign that says no refunds that their food would be bad. Gave 1 star because 0 wasnt an option. Dont waist your money!
Wah Shine is the best Chinese food ever. I have been going here since 1986. The food quality has been the same. They are generous with their portions and the price is fair. We ordered the Special Dinner for two and feed 4 people on it. The service is awesome and they never rush you out. Awesome place to get Chinese food.

We recently started going back to Wah Shine. Not sure if its under new management but its MUCH better than we remembered from several years ago. Another big plus is the staff. They are so pleasant & friendly and they make you feel so welcome and thank you for coming when you leave. Also, the food comes out amazingly fast and the portions are large and really good! They also have take-out when you just want to stay home and chill.
I have been to this place twice, once when was very busy and once when it was not. Both times the service was above my expectations. Very friendly staff, good food, and you get a lot of food for the money. Only a 4/5 due to the interior decor needing some attention. We will be back.

The reason I gave two stars is because the service here is amazing. Too bad the food is horrible. Everything we ordered was bland and all tasted exactly the same! We had Szechuan beef, Kung Pao chicken, steamed white rice, and beef Chow Mein. None of those dishes should taste similar to each other, but they did. I think they all had the same sauce and the Kung Pao had all kinds of stuff that didnt belong, like green pepper, huge chunks of onion, and mushrooms. It did have peanuts, the majority of which were raw. I usually give a new place three chances to get it right, but this was so horrible that I will never order from them again.

Note that they have seating/tables to accommodate individuals as well as large groups.We ordered off the Lunch menu, which provided a variety of choices. Each entree comes with a Soup, Salad, choice of Steamed or Fried rice, and/or any combination of a puff/egg roll.The food was good, and wasnt over seasoned. We all got some kind of meat in our entree ... but the meat was a little tough, and/or chewy.The staff was pleasant, courteous, and attentive throughout our visit.Nice place, staff was good as noted, service was brisk, pricing for dishes were average, and food was good but not great.I would recommend for Lunch as the food was good, you can get in and out quickly, and they have a decent selection of dishes. The food had a more earthy flavor, good use of other herbs and spices. The only disappoint of the night was the walnut shrimp. The flavor was great, plenty of very crunchy texture shrimp, but sauce was a little skimpy. Price was very reasonable.

The lady who answered the phone had a upbeat voice very chippery.. That means a lot to me actually that have somebody Who is happy. But but the food was really good it was like old school Chinese food I got the lunch plate and it was way bigger than I thought I will definitely be stopping by here on my way every time

Love coming here more than anything! This is by far my favorite place to eat in general. The staff are the most attentive people and care so much about customer service it blows me away! I eat here once a week on average. The servers know me and my friends order and know where we like to sit. Often can get in and out with lunch in under 30 minutes if they aren’t too crazy packed. Love coming here and look forward to more years of eating here!
I have to say the amount of food you get is plentiful for the amount you pay. The quality is not as good as I would hope for. The spicy section on the menu is not spicy what so ever even when you ask for extra spice. The food is still good and the rice was wonderful. I just wish the spicy food was spicy or even a hint of it. I would come back to challenge the chef to see what he could do about the spice he could make.
I had eaten here several times. It is a very popular Chinese restaurant in Vacaville and do some delivery. This was the first time since I had been living in the Mid-West. I had the vegetable chow mien which is a thicker noodle than we have in Minnesota. The food was not bad and the amount of vegetables especially broccoli was great. The vegetables were firm. The soup and the other food that we had were just as good.

Wah Shine has been a family favorite since I was a toddler. My parents had their wedding reception here in 1997. Wah Shine is comfort food and never disappoints. The prices are fair and the dishes are delicious. The staff is always friendly.

After living in this city for several years, I finally took my wife and kids here on a Sunday around 1 pm. We were almost immediately seated and the staff was assertive about getting our food ordered. I had the sweet and sour fish and chow mein and my wife had a spicy chicken dish and the food was hot and generally tasty with good portion sizes for the money. Now with their chow mein, it has almost no flavor so that forces you to eat it with the other flavored food. The staff checked on us several times and delivered the bill before we asked for it which caught me off guard, but that was part of the speedy service we got overall. Fast and accurate service is not a bad thing.I ate at the now-bankrupt Rice and Noodles place in the past and Wah Shine is WAY better. If you want good, adequately-priced Chinese food in Vacaville that isnt part of a chain, you can do worse than Wah Shine. I want to try their MuShu next time...

Moved out of state, but returning for business we had to eat at our favorite Chinese restaurant. It did not disappoint. Best Won Ton weve ever eaten and it hasnt changed since we first started eating there... twenty plus years ago.
Food was very bland. We ordered Moo Shi Pork which was good but the pancakes came cold. The beef chow fun was made with whole beans not a sauce it was missing the bbq flavor. And the oriental veg. Was tasteless and under cooked.

We’ve been coming here for years. It is a typical strip mall Chinese restaurant. The food has been consistently better than most Chinese restaurants in the area and the service has always been above average. Lunch portions are large and reasonably priced.
The service was spectacular, they really care about customer service here. In regards to food it was fresh and tasty, its more americanized food but it was good. I ordered the lunch special and usually the food for lunch specials is stale, but surprisingly theirs was pretty good.
Ordered takeout. Honey Walnut Shrimp and Shrimp fried Rice. The shrimp was OLD and no sauce. Shrimp stuck together. Most of the shrimp bare. Just plain nasty taste. The rice was old and slimy. Called the restaurant and the guy cared less. He said ok that I said I will not come back. Threw all of it in the trash and out over $23. Will NEVER go back. GROSS!
I don’t normally go online to give reviews unless I’m absolutely blown away or extremely let down. Unfortunately in this situation, it’s the latter. We have been looking for a decent Chinese food place in Vacaville for a while and given the reviews for Wah Shine, we decided to try it out. We ordered chicken chow mein, chicken fried rice, sesame chicken, sweet and sour pork, and a side of egg rolls. Everything was extremely bland and devoid of seasoning. The sweet and sour pork was overcooked and large pieces of breading by itself were included with the dish. That was really the only dish with any flavor but only because it was drowned in sweet and sour sauce (and not a good one). The service was fine and the order was made quickly. But if you’re looking for actual Chinese food - or just food with any flavor whatsoever - I would look elsewhere.

Service and staff were also excellent...I accidentally left my phone behind at the table and they secured it for me until I returned. Highly recommend this local restaurant if youre looking for good quality Chinese food at an affordable price. Thank you Wah Shine!!

Everyone was super nice and attentive.Food portions were not skimpy on dish size nor the amount of meat.Flavor was decent, not mind blowing. Most people will be happy with it. We got the chow fun, hot and sour soup, and twice cooked pork. No complaints. The hot and sour soup was both decently hot and sour. I hate it when its neither.Recommended.

Also Im lost why our gen.Tso chicken was not how it normally is everywhere 1 ..2 no rice with a meal?! So disappointed and frankly scared to ever order from a place that serves food like this Super disappointed! I just moved to California and i wish this place was a good spot . Shame
