Had a pleasant meal here with my extended family on our way to the metro station. My Uncle suggested this place as he had enjoyed his prior visit so he took us here to see for ourselves. Seriously amazing and fresh sashimi. I got the sake sashimi donburi and it was just perfect. The tofu appetizer was soft in the middle and crispy on the outside. The staff was very friendly and food arrived quickly. Definitely worth a visit if you crave sushi.

Undoubtedly, one of the best places in Livermore for Sushi. Each time I dine here, Im impressed by the freshness of the fish. I usually order the Sashimi plate and my family orders Bento Boxes and various rolls. The only negative is the wait as this place is super small.

Alway friendly and efficient. Try the Spicy Crunchy California Roll. It’s my husband’s favorite. My daughters love the fresh oysters and the SP Kaki. I like the Rock-n-Roll, or the Salmon Teriyaki Bento Box.

They seated us near the waiting area, where people waiting for their pickups were constantly going back and forth, killing the whole atmosphere. It took a pretty long time for our food to get to the table. However, we didnt get it all together, but dish by dish, and at the end, they managed to forget 3 roll sets, which they started to make after we reminded them.This place is mostly focused on the takeouts with no prioritization of the people waiting for their orders on site.Pros: more or less ok sushi rolls. Nothing special, though.Cons: Slow and unprofessional service.

Like most Japanese restaurants in the area, this one is Korean run. Ordered the hamachi kama and the 12 piece sashimi. The Kama was grilled for a perfect amount of time - the meat and fat simply melts in your mouth. 5/5. The sashimi was good for the price 4/5 - on this trip, the yellowtail and the albacore was better than the salmon. Ill be back to try other items on their menu - this restaurant is definitely repeatable.

We usually order take-out here rather than dine in, but have done both. The time to pick up is a little longer than some places, but with sushi especially Im happy to know its all prepared fresh.Several rolls we really like: Dancing Shrimp, caterpillar, dragon, spicyTuna. Recently we tried a few new ones were pleased with as well, Hot Mama, Kiss of Fire.Prices have gone up in the last couple years, so this is more of a splurge than everyday take out.

Sushi was good, potentially just OK. The maki rolls had way too much rice, the temperatureof the sushi was too cold and the fish did not taste particularly fresh. Service was okay and ambiance was alright. Portion sizes were very large and you definitely get your moneys worth in terms of value. However theres nothing here that would get me to come again and the sushi was just not worth it. They have to work on a lot more things to get this even to a 3 star.

Ive eaten here before and it was great, but today was not good. I had a roll with yellowtail and it had a lot of chewy bits in it. Also I had the Ahi Poke and it was so bad I threw it away. The Tuna did not taste fresh and it too had a lot of chewy stuff in it. Not much sauce on it either. Points for actually being open mid-afternoon.Chefs, do you taste your ingredients? If so, your taster is broken.

I should have looked at the bathroom before ordering the food. The food was excellent and fresh, but this place wasnt clean. Management needs to take a serious look at the maintenance for this restaurant. I should have taken a photo of the door to the bathroom from the outside, it was even dirtier. 😳Id love to come back, but not until the place has been cleaned from top to bottom.

Wasabi Bistro is an outstanding Japanese sushi restaurant. The service, ambiance and food is excellent. Both my wife and I really enjoy eating here and we recommend it highly. Its a somewhat small venue, so make a reservation, but even if you have to wait, its well worth it.

Took my eight year old for his birthday since he chose Sushi as his special dinner.He loved it 🤩!My wife loved it too!My wife normally doesnt eat sushi because she doesnt like the seaweed flavor but her friend told her to try the soy based wrap here and it allowed her to enjoy the Kiss of Fire wrap.Sashimi was great but also dont forget to start with their Garlic edamame.We went on a Wednesday night so there was plenty of space for the seven of us.Great food and pleasant service.

The lunch bento is really good (also filling). If you have been to Kawa Sushi it offers somewhat the same meal (its in the same box), but with different options. I wont say that one place has better options than the other since it more depends on mood. I will say that this place has more sushi and nigiri options for the bento however. I also really liked the teriyaki sauce here. Tempura was also a plus and the menu felt like I was inside a Cadillac.

I love this place. They are always busy. Prices are comparable and the food is good. I love their garlic edamame and 49er roll.The biggest complaint that I have is they never have your order ready on time. I always order online. When I get there I usually have to wait at least 10 minutes if not longer after the time I was told it would be ready. I understand that Friday and Saturday nights are always going to be busier but they should adjust the system so that you are given a more appropriate time during peak hours.

Food is good and reasonably priced. Generally, we get seated quickly and the staff is friendly, but often not as attentive during the meal as I would like them to be. Pacing can also be a little weird when they’re busy-soup and/or salad comes out quickly and then rolls can take some time. Only white rice is offered if that’s an issue for you (not a deal breaker for me). I generally will eat here 2-3 times a month for lunch!

WOW. This is a rare gem. Best place Ive been to in the entire state. I live in southern California. Im from the east coast. I know of only one sushi restaurant that rivals this one. I ordered pick up. The house was fairly full and its almost closing time. Every One was raving about their meal on the way out. One roll, banana tempura, salad. So, the roll was amazing. The tempura was crunchy but light. Perfect. The salad dressing wasnt ginger but instead a creamy lemon dressing. It was wonderful. This is maybe my third review ever. Guys, it was worth it. Im so pleased.

This place is hidden across the freeway in a small shopping center. The inside is pretty small and this place stays really busy! The service was exceptionally friendly and offered excellent selections even for our picky eaters. The food was of good quality but the Salmon Skin hand rolls were a bit overcooked and the raw fish that came out was already pretty lukewarm! Otherwise the rest of our rolls were excellent and definitely assured our return.

After hearing raves about this place, I went in with high expectations. Most of the food we order - deep fried spicy tuna Maki roll, Vegisu, shiitake veg roll, another custom veg roll - lived upto my expectations. Thanks to the chef for creating a customize veg maki roll off-the-menu.Miso soup, however, was a bit of a disappointment. It tasted like boiled water with a hint of miso paste.I went on Friday afternoon, which I’m guessing is a busy time for the bistro so the service we experienced was quite slow.

One of the best sushi places in the East Bay. The Kiss of Fire is my favorite roll on the menu. The restaurant has solid service and is always very clean. The only down side is the wait. This places is very popular and doesnt take reservations so be prepared to wait. They did just get a Yelp check in station which will send you a text when your table is ready so you dont have to worry about losing your spot in line if you step outside.

I thought you know what fine I’ll eat around it but the salmon was just bland compared to other sushi places in livermore. They also forgot my soup. If youre looking for authentic, fresh, flavorful sushi and Japanese food anywhere east of the Bay Area, this is the place. No where else in the area comes close to the freshness of their food.Ive eaten here several times and have always been thrilled with the quality of the food and the friendly service. EDIT: Everything is back on track, excellent food and service. Ive been to every Livermore sushi place and this is by far the best.Previous review: Youll still find the best fish in Livermore here! Prices are also low, even when compared to inferior restaurants. However, they are understaffed in the kitchen and front of house with the new addition, leading to service and food that is slow. On the other hand, its much easier to get a table if you dont mind passing the time as you sit. Im mainly glad they have not sacrificed quality of preparation in the expansion, and I fully expect they will be back at a 5-star level soon.

Great Japanese place. You should definitely try the Wasabi special sashimi salad. They have a great selection of rolls with some special house rolls. Even though it felt long waiting for our food, everyone liked what they ordered so it was worth it!Our table got the following rolls: Lion King, Baked Scallop, Cherry Blossom, Hot Mama and Dancing Shrimp. My son who has dairy and egg allergies ordered the Dragon roll and they were accommodating to his questions. But they deserve the business, the food really is that good. My favorites include the crazy monkey, WTH and ocean rolls. Sushi is excellent. Tea however, is consistantly cold to lukewarm. When asked for a fresh serving, they take the clay cup, microwave it, and serve it without thermal gloves..yes, comes back so hot you cant even pick it up. Not once, not twice, but three times now. Convinced that the one very thin server either does not speak english, or doesnt really care about a nice conventionally hot cup of tea. Maybe consider just ordering to go.

I am an authentic sushi/sashimi lover, as in I cant get enough uni, tobiko, amaebi, tamago, etc. Im selfishly torn about giving this place an excellent rating because its my local go-to and I dont want it to get busier!! The service is excellent and the food is authentic/excellent. The quality is better than anywhere else nearby... Ive tried them all.

We always loved this place. Our ladt visit was horrible! Took 45 mins to get our food and to top it off food was cold! I told waitress she took it back said they make a new order for me and she returned 2 mins later with same plate and the only thing they did was reheat Tempura everything else was still cold. Told someone else they did get it together but by then not hungry and just had them box it. Ugh.... really disappointed

It loathes me to write this review because too many people already know about Wasabi Bistro. Best sushi Ive had in the Tri-Valley area for sure, and youre going to wait for it. They have a very small space, maybe seat 20 tops? Everytime I go in there, there are half a dozen people waiting for a seat--but man if you get a seat, hold on!Their rolls are fresh and delicious, they have an enormous menu with all sorts of Nigiri, Sashimi, Tempura, Appetizers of all sorts, bento boxes, dinners, stuff from the grill, teriyaki, you name it. I seriously dont think Ive had anything from Wasabi bistro that I wouldnt recommend you order 15 of. Ooooo, and they have fresh wasabi too for you seasoned sushi scarfers.
