We came here during a Thai holiday so apparently it was much more crowded than usual. So things like having trouble finding a seat or some of the restaurants running out of certain food items may be a non-issue other times of the year.All in all it’s a very cool experience. We did just fine with street parking and walking a little. We also really enjoyed looking at the beautiful temple and grounds.When it comes to the food - everything was very good. I would highly recommend the papaya salad it’s made to order and you can get a sweeter la spicier version to your liking. We were able to watch as they ground together the chilies and sugar and tossed it with the papaya and vinegar. The chicken satay was very good as well. Next time, we would like to get there earlier so we can try more foods.Lastly they do function on a token system but it’s very easy to get more and we barely had to wait in line - even as crowded as it was the day we went. So if you’re new out about having leftover tokens don’t be afraid to get a smaller exchange and just go back for more later on.

Loved to experience the temple and the weekend food market from 8-5pm. It totally was filling and many other food spots, really good. Holy, the coconut cakes were so amazingly sweet and so good!!!! Parking is pretty full - street parking yes- cash only for tokens. Food was very affordable.

Absolutely loved spending the afternoon at the street food fair with friends over a Sunday afternoon. Brought my dog cos it’s also dog friendly and that was so nice. The food is just incredible and so well priced. Lots of vegan options you just have to ask them including the famous Thai coffee I love was served with almond milk. It’s a great thing to do as a couple, family, alone or a friend group. Energy is lovely here as expected. Remember to bring enough cash to buy the tokens!

We’re finally here!!!After 15+ years of wanting to come here, we finally made time to come to this amazing Thai Temple weekend FOOD COURT!If you’re looking for the best and most affordable Thai food in Los Angeles? Then you gotta come to Wat Thai Temple on the weekends for their delicious Thai food court! DELICIOUS and authentic !! I noticed a lot of ppl got take outs for their family at home!We came on a Sunday about 9:30 and got parking right away, the lot was half empty. I was told it gets packed at 11 am, so come before 10:30.

Food here is the real deal! Real Thai food that without the outrageous restaurant price. The vendors are set up in the parking lot of the Wat Thai Temple in Noho. Its not crazy crowded and the workers and community keep the place so clean. After eating, you can walk around the place and view the statues and temple. Come for the food and stay for some culture!

It has been years since visiting LA Thai temple, I wanted to check out food court. I bought fresh Fried dough and coconut cakes. Exchanged money for their plastic coins. It is not cheap but part of money will go to temple. I went around 8:30 am when they just opened, parking space was easy to find but space was very compact. I did not have a chance to try food. Vendors were friendly. There are tables for eating.

(This is a review of the weekend market, not the temple itself) Such a great way to begin a Saturday! There is lots of good food. I had an amazing bowl of tom yum noodles to start— it was hot, sour, and spicy, very flavorful. For dessert, some potato balls! They were fried so nicely. crunchy on the outside and lighter texture when you bite into it; slightly sweet too. Very reasonable prices and friendly vendors :) it’s fun to go with others and get a bunch of plates to share!Went around 12, and the parking lot was pretty full like some people mentioned, but I was directed to a spot immediately by the attendant.**bring cash**

Came here with my friend for the food vendors that they have every week.This place is cash only and you have to exchange the cash for tokens, if you don’t use the tokens they give you cash back.Parking was a bit of a hassle.People were friendly, I came for dessert and enjoyed. Get the fried banana and meat ball on a stick because they are amazing here. I havent stop by this Thai Temple in years but it all changed today. I wanted to get some food for my fiancée to try so I came here with my sister and parents. They have more parking than before because the old gas station is gone and they took that space for parking spots. We came around 9am and most of the food places were open. I got the Mango with sticky rice, fried banana, meatball on a stick, Thai Tea, their green dessert and the banana leaves wrapped with sticky rice and banana inside. The prices did increase but its inflation so it wasnt a surprise. I got charge extra when I asked for no ice on the Thai Tea so I was surprise about that.

This is definitely my favorite go to place whenever I invite friends or family to the valley! The food here reminds me so much of the street food in Thailand. If you are looking for that coconut ice cream that can only be found in Bangkok, look no further! The gelato/ice cream shop here has coconut ice cream that tastes exactly like it! They just dont serve it inside a coconut of course.If you cant find parking inside the temple, park in the surrounding neighborhood and walk.The temple is also great and I love the various smaller shrines set up around. They are open to the public and you can go inside and pray in them.

OMG best authentic Thai/Chinese food can be found here. Only available during the weekend, most serving is about $5, Asian portion, not American portions mind you, so you get to try out different items. My cravings are papaya salad, especially on hot summer days, the fried potatoes balls, yams, and bananas are definitely a crowd pleaser, the batter they used is ahmazing!I believe they switch vendors every weekend, you cant go wrong with pad Thai, pad see ewe, and my favorite is the buffet style stall, its not all you can eat, you can select 2 items with rice or alacarte for $5! Cant beat that, and oh so delicious, especially the pork in dark sauce. They really like it when you bring your own pyrex, Tupperware or containers.The only slight inconvenience is you have to swap cash for tokens to purchase food, its like a mini fare every weekend, absolutely love it! We usually get the food to go and buy extra for lunch next day, we dont particularly enjoy the open/like karaoke with loud speakers, its fun in the beginning but can get annoying after a while hahaParking can be also inconvenient if you arrive later in the day, its usually within the temple but can spill out to the nearby residential neighborhood. Come early so youll be in and out in a jiffy, or not!

I like the food here, a lot (weekend only). Specially the grilled pork on a stick and the soups. Prices are hard to beat. 2 people can over eat here and have leftovers for lunch the next day for $40. Parking can be difficult, but you can go around the block and park on the street.

This review is for the food court thats only open on weekends. The stalls we tried had legitimately good food. Its no wonder that it was busy. The boat noodles were fantastic, the pad kra pow was excellent, and the bbq pork jowl was blow torched and heavenly. Highly recommend and the prices were decent.

As a Thai myself, I think the market is very much overrated. I was recommended here by spoken words of other Thais in LA saying the market has good food with very cheap price. First, the food was priced like $8 per bowl but the bowl was very small and I could get a 2x bowl for $16 in LA so it’s just the same. The famous $1 moo ping is also very small. I don’t think it’s worth $1 at all. Parking was extremely hard to find if you go at lunch time. I didn’t go into the temple so I couldn’t say much of what’s inside. But for what I’ve seen outside, the vibes, the market, I do not recommend.

Parking spots are so close to each other. Luckily there is a parking attendant helping folks reverse. First you change your dollars for tokens. You pay for your food with tokens. I saw one vendor selling beverages. Some food is good. Some food is mediocre. The prices are not cheap but also the portions are normal size; not too big, not too small. I understand we’re helping out a temple and I hope they get all the help they need. But, I much rather eat at an actual Thai restaurant. This place is cool to get out the house and to be outside with family and friends. There is a variety of food but still… I rather eat at a restaurant.

I come here almost every weekend having lived around the corner and I have never felt so disrespected in public the woman running the Thai tea section was incapable of providing me any way to carry my drinks while I was holding various bags of food and then after dropping the tea I was forced to carry I was told I would not be given another one since it was my fault I paid for a t and held it for less than a minute I will never come back here and I highly recommend you dont come here unless you can speak the language otherwise youll be met with cold indifference

Amazing prices! Gorgeous temple with many beautiful cheap food but great quality. There are many seatings and even a friendly neighborhood black cat roams around! The bathrooms are very clean and renovated. Make sure you bring cash because youll need to exchange them for tokens. I recommend the coconut cakes which are small, sweet (but not overwhelming), and has a little bit of a crunch. You should come here!

Wat Thai Los Angeles may be the largest Theravāda Temple in Los Angeles. It chiefly serves our large Thai community but all are welcome. The temple grounds is dotted with shrines to Mahayana and Hindu deities as well.The temple is extremely busy on weekends. Families use this time to make gifts (dana) to the temple, receive blessings from the monks and pay homage to the Buddha at the spacious altar(s) or renew their refuge in the Triple Gem There are services and Dhamma talks in the evening. These are in Thai.Do wear appropriate clothing before entering the temple (no beach clothes, no revealing clothing, no shoes, no bare midriffs, cover tattoos, etc).A big attraction is the weekend. pop up food court where the offerings are inexpensive and delicious. Many familiar dishes can be found as well as some foods not commonly found in American Thai restaurants. I have never been disappointed.As a non Thai I have always been made to feel welcome even though I stick out like a sore thumb in the crowd.

Thai street food, LA style. They use $1 and $2 tokens for currency which you can only purchase with cash. Proceeds go to the temple whose parking lot the food stalls occupy. The foods here taste like authentic Thai foods! However, monks are not respectable at all. I took my fiancé to offer goods to the monk. The monk asked very rude questions and looked down on me as he found out that I will be marrying to American. It was very disappointed to show my fiancé how we practice at the temple as Buddhist.

I noticed this shiny colorful Buddhist temple when we drove down Roscoe Blvd towards the CA-170 one day. I pulled up my favorite foodie app and found them on Yelp with great reviews. I wonder whats the hype was about so I visited this holy temple last Saturday. Note that this temple consists of a few smaller ones. The big temple with two standing God statues is called the Yaksha Temple. Yaksha is the guardian of the hidden treasures. The details and colors of this Yaksha sculpture statues are impeccable. And anyone can go inside for worships and prayers.Behind this Yaksha Temple there was a small market with assorted food vendors selling Pad Thai, Mango Sticky Rice, Boat/Duck/Pork Noodles, Meat Satay/Skewers, Coconut Pancakes, Shaved Ice, Candied Fruit in Coconut Milk Dessert, Fried Banana/Taro/Sweet Potato and many more! The guy who managed the stall was super nice, he gave us a deal and he accepted our credit card payment too.The last item I got and also the least item I like were the shaved ice. It tasted weird, plasticy, as if it was expired. We bought two at $3 each. It was so bad we had to throw them out. I hope the rest of the flavors are doable though. The ices were sold right next to the Strawberry Lemonade stand. The lady who served the lemonade was rude and cheap to us. She stuffed the cup with more ice than liquid. And she didnt even fill the cup to the max. I asked her politely, Can you please fill it up all the way? but she didnt like it and she yelled at me instead, it will spill out! For the sake of the temple, I didnt deduct 1-star for her behavior.Overall the food, the people and the energy here were amazing! As of last weekend, I was told they do this all day every Saturday and the best part is - its open to anyone. Everything was cheap, delicious and legit. All you need is to buy some tokens and eat eat eat!

Had the octopus balls 5 pcs for $4...it was ok. Had the fried coconut $3 for 6 and they were good. Had thai iced tea $2 it was ok. We got there at 930a on a Sunday and it wasnt busy. Since we ate breakfast, didnt get to try anything else. Will be back next time to try more food.

Food court on weekends has a variety of booths serving Thai food. Many of the items are not common at restaurants, so they can be a special treat. On a hot summer day, it feels a lot like an outdoor bazaar in rural Thailand, including the loud, out-of-tune folk singer on stage that Furang will have trouble tolerating.

I been going to Thai temple when they were selling underneath the temple where there was only maybe 5 vendors. Awesome place to go and always good to bring your family and friend to experience BOMB food.
