I went there with my family. It was very beautiful, especially right now with the whole place covered in Christmas lights. My little sister had so much fun going around the whole plaza and looking at the lights. Also a very clean and calm place to be around. I recommend going at night with your kids to see the plaza.

Hate to see how the plaza has turned out after all these years. I took my daughters to go see the Christmas lights and the place was full of homeless and addicts that have no respect or shame in their game. Turned around and left after just stepping 5 feet into the plaza. My girls were disappointed and sadden to see people sleeping on the benches in the cold. Went back alone later and covered up 5 of them older gentleman with brand new blankets. They were thankful but not as much as i was to have been able to do it for them. GOD the Greatest.
Nice place to chill with family and friends. On Fridays the Farmers Market is setup surrounding the plaza. You will findArts and crafts, also delicious food and snacks,fresh fruit cups/waters, corn on the cob/baked potato and much more.

Fun, quaint, small town square in center of old town Watsonville, CA. Holds Farmers market every Friday afternoon. Needs more Farmers selling their goods, It mostly has food vendors. I like that they have organic products too. Theres mostly hispanic food and goods. It would be nice if more vendors came to sell a wider variety of goods. Its a great place to take the whole family. They usually have activities for kids 5 and under. I take my dog and he loves the excitement. Sometimes they have music and/or performers, then it gets really festive. Sometimes you get unexpected free goodies. During the Holidays a shelter was giving away free dog and cat collars. Last week they were putting out the word that they will be giving away bicycle lights for a community bike ride in a couple of weeks. They dont have enough seating at the plaza for the amount of people that go, so you might consider taking chairs or blanket if you dont want to sit on the grass. Parking can be tough. It takes time to get a spot, but people are constantly coming and going so they open up. Hours are 2pm - 7pm every Friday.

Its great on Fridays when they have the farmers market. Great food and awesome environment. During the rest of the week there is a lot of drunks, smokers, people shouting random offensive things, and lots of hostility coming from the homeless people. Overall nice place when its Friday.
It can be a nice place to just sit and relax. Just be careful because you can get unwanted entertainment. Its nice to sit in your car and have a quick bite to eat
Loved the photos with Santa Claus, the arts and crafts and the cutest train ever! So awesome the City provided this especially being a single mother Xmas photos are so expensive usually so it was a treat for our family. We will definitely be attending again. Thank you City of Watsonville!

This is plaza is like a page out of time, my family came from Texas to California in 68 and we first came to Watsonville because my uncle lived here I remember this plaza looking almost identical to what it looks like now, you have a lot of little businesses around that have very good Hispanic treats definitely check out these businesses if possible.
Great place to hang out with family, there is a farmers market every friday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The food is excellent there are tables where you can sit and have a picnic. There are several mexican restaurants around the block and also a wellsfargo bank across from it.
The heart of Watsonville! I love that this plaza is still here, and still has benches. So many places in Santa Cruz seem kind of unfriendly - but not this place! I love how all the older gentlemen rest here, and all the families. The Farmers Market on Friday afternoons really gets the place hopping. And theres even a couple of Poketops!

The farmers market on Fridays is an excellent place to get fruits, veggies and honey along with other things like fresh cut flowers, trinkets and of course the tasty food.
Well maintained. There are homeless people sleeping there on occasion but they always keep to themselves. Seemed sketchy at night but lately youll find lots of Pokémon Go players frequenting the place
You can take pictures, have an ice cream take a walk around the kiosk and those huge trees on Friday they sell food, churros, fruta quesadillas, tlayudas, Wells Fargo atm is right there and sometimes they have traditional aztec dances.
The plaza is always clean! I appreciate that very much! As we take our kids here and they do like to run around.
Thursdays they have music at the park, bring your lawn chair, and a disguised drink and you are good to go.

From San Juan Baptista, asked Google for direction to Watsonville. It took us to the Plaza which surprisingly has the Fri Farmers Mkt !!!Our first time to Watsonville. We felt like we were in Mexico.Found food you only would find in Mexico I think. Huaraches, Tlacoyos, Bunuelos, Tlayuda, Pork Cheese \ Beans Cheese Papusas topped with marinated cabbage mixture - so satisfying n yummy. There were fresh vegetables fruits flowers variety of drinks. Oh yes freshly cooked churros.It was nice to see families together adults n children.
Im not actually from Watsonville. But I am from a place that recognizes homeless issues. Have a beautiful place if we could just cut back a little on the homeless.

La placita (or town square) looks much like the Zocalos (plazas) in Mexico. Watsonville has events like Cinco del Mayo here; and every Friday there is a small farmers and food market in the afternoon. Shops, restaurants, Wells Fargo bank, and Cabrillo College surround the plaza. Ice cream shop too. Since it is a city park, you will see homeless people there.
Farmers Market on Fridays at the Plaza are a great way to purchase produce from local farmers.

Well the Strawberry Festival. A little more information in Spanish to know about the events, several tents only installed there was nothing, only mechanical games and the food that is installed every 8 days.
Quiet place where the majority of people who are there are gentlemen who go to meet friends again, generally people who are pensioners, other field workers waiting for the season to arrive, on various occasions a year, commemorations of the town and the community are organized, as well as all the Friday there is a food market with local vegetables and fruit, showing the customs of the town. Around it there are shops, schools and banks. Be sure to visit it if you pass through Watsonville.

A central place, with some details against it, lack of cleanliness, its appearance in general is not very striking, and without offending anyone,, in this place people of different ages meet that give this place a bad look and last a long time and this is almost daily, I have seen that many people better avoid crossings in the middle of this park....your personal criteria will be your answers.
I loved it...music on Fridays. Food and sale of fresh fruits. Every Friday they have that event. I recommend it that day we had to listen to mariachis... and the community is very friendly

The square is very pretty but wherever you want. It smells like urine, people should not be allowed to sleep there.
It is a very nice place, every Friday they have a flea market, where you can buy a variety of Mexican snacks, organic fruits and vegetables at a very affordable price.
Many men make fun of the police there, perhaps for the police it is like having a cup of coffee but for them it is like having a good delicacy for breakfast.
