Great food and very friendly staff, but also super busy. Reservations recommended. We got there around 5:30, and we were lucky to get a spot at their bar seating which was very comfortable.

Great place to try Wagyu beef. Recommended Kobe grill combo with Kalbi, Bulgogi and Ribeye.Extra bonus: even though you are grilling on the table, to our surprise our clothes didnt smell afterwards.

The staff was very helpful and attentive. The food was great. Its what youd expect from a nicer KBBQ place. To me the price is not worth it. I dont have any complaints its just too much $$. $270 with tip for 3 people. 2 beers and we were able to easily finish all the food.

Good Korean BBQ! Really fun staff, great place to stop in for lunch or early dinner. Portions are generous, especially the Korean sides (kimchi, etc). The standard Bulgogi and Short Rib beef half orders are plenty! Fun experience, always. This is a great alternative to making the hike to Koreatown and avoiding the crowds there. I saw some complaints about no all-you-can-eat option, but if you order a couple half portions and veggies, with the complimentary sides, for a couple of people, it’s nearly more than we could eat, anyway.

Not sure how this place has any good reviews. Probably one of the worst Korean restaurants I’ve been to—their prices are bad, they charge for things they shouldn’t charge for, their food is bad, their banchan is bad. We live on the west side, we were craving Korean food but didn’t want to drive to K-town… and it’s just not worth it.I get there aren’t many Korean restaurants on the west side, but you’re way better off driving to Koreatown (best korean food in the world) or going to Torrance or something.The fact they charged extra for rice cakes in my soup and it came out with 6 rice cakes… just don’t go here. Nobody who knows anything about Korean food would ever take you here.

You can find much better kbbq with better meat quality and cheaper price at ktown. But this is a nice place to go at night if you’re craving kbbq and are close by. Overall, meat quality is mediocre and portions are small here.

I like this place but they make you wait forever to a point you feel ignored. However, they’re nice whenever they help you.Prices are kind of high because they sell either combos or a la carte, but I like the portions of the food and combinations.

Excellent food and cozy atmosphere. It is so much nicer on the inside than its strip mall exterior may have you thinking. Our only complaint was how warm it was, but I have never known a Korean BBQ place that wasnt warm. Comes with having a grill at ever table I guess.

Its a good restaurant and the overall quality is great as well as customer service. However, its not authentic to what I know and I may be wrong in this but a handful of undon noodles veggies and beef is what I got. They dont offer all you can eat and I paid 45 dollars for this. Its more like some kind of fusion I guess. The Korean BBQ was on point though!

Had the shabu but this place has bbq too which I think it is more known for. It was a slightly pricey but very filling meal. Meat was good quality and sides were good. Broth a little lacking in flavour imo but maybe that’s because I’m more used to hotpot. Overall decent experience would like to go back for the bbq.

I have eaten the shabo shabo and the Korean BBQ. Slightly pricey. But excellent selection. Shabo shabo was good selection. I would like to have the broth of the soup taste better. The Korean BBQ was really good. Good cuts of meat and tasty.

Tucked in a string of shops near Washington and Lincoln, I had always seen this spot from the outside but figured that good Korean BBQ should be had in Koreatown. I was wrong.This place is clean, healthy and delicious.We had 5 people (4 men) at our table and ordered 2 combo sets + 1 plate of 8oz and we all stuffed.We added the mushroom family set for $10.50 The combos do come with seasonal vegetables to grill.Table Etiquette - rub the onion and other vegetables over the hot grill before grilling meat to keep the meat from sticking.Ask to have your heat cranked up if your meat is taking too long to cook.Ask for Gochujang if you want extra spicy sauce on the house.Their Calbi (thin pieces of boneless short rib) was fantastic. I also recommend their Brisket Pork Belly and Spicy Outskirt.Each person got their own Oil/Salt, ponzu-soy dipping sauces. Fresh salad was served along with the following side items:- Potato Salad (sweet and cold)- Spinach Salad- Broccoli- Kimchi- Bean Sprouts- Fish Cake - resembles slices of tofu- Asparagus with Heart of Palm

The staff is friendly and the customer service is really good, but I have to mention they kind of rush you out (I guess we spent in about 30 minutes). We ordered a BBQ for 2-3 people, that can actually feed two only, and it was 120 USD + tips = not worth it, too little meat for the money (it included some sea food as well).The side dishes were really good.I know the places in the area are a litte expensive, but I dont think its worth the price.They also have dishes such as bibimbap and kimchi fried rice ecc. for about 30 USD, which we didnt order, but I find too expensive for such a dish.

I have tried hole in the wall places for a quarter of the price for better quality and taste. Cuts were cheap and banchan, soup, and appetizers were bland. I have tried the same items from Hmart that were much better. I actually got home and was sick.

Take it from a korean-american who is a kbbq fanatic…this is among the worst I’ve had. Overpriced for low quality meat and banchan (side dishes). Just drive another 20-30 to ktown. It’ll be worth it i promise. We were in and out in 30…i usually eat/drink for 2 hours.

Great service and staff. Grill it yourself meats were paired with some great sides and the meats were well marinated where applicable and of good quality. I would say the prices are a tad steep, ranging in the high 40s to 50s for 8oz of most meat. Most Korean BBQ places Ive been to are a set price and they bring small plates of whatever you want until you stop ordering, (I was honestly taken aback when I realized what Id end up paying...) whereas Wharo you pay a hefty fee for one type and if you want another you pay more and so on. So to get a food sampling youll have to make several trips or shell out quite a bit.Needless to say its not a bad place, depending on your income, but to me, Ill just go to a traditional Korean BBQ where my dollars go a little further.

I paid $86 for a full entree that is advertised as $39 95 on their website My advice is to update your menu so the consumer is aware what to expect.

Wow staff was amazing and friendly!! Food was well portioned for the Wharo meal for 2. We came in late with no reservation and they were very accommodating and texted me as soon as they had a table. The food was ok when we are, but the service was slow and the staff was rude. Very expensive for a Korean BBQ. Spoke to the owner about the extra $40 CC charge and she said it my bank whos stealing the money.

May 8th @9pm night before Mother’s Day. Went there with my grown kids. From Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Lemoore and Denver we spent the weekend in Marina Del Rey. This place was a great place to end that Saturday. Our waiter Michael was great. Since they didn’t serve Stella Artois, he recommended Kirin Light…it was good too. This was some of the best Korean Bbq I’ve ever ate. Atmosphere was cozy and casual but elegant.Very nice. I want to go back when I get back to LA.

Classic example of a selfish proprietor taking advantage of, if i may be crass, white peoples’ ignorance/intrigue regarding Korean food. They give you 4 panchan/banchan……. As well as being over over over priced(and that’s an understatement) compared to any other kbbq spot in la city limits including ayce spots. Have more to say but im with ppl here rn and don’t want to be rude, just rude enough, as you can tell, because ive been driven to write this review based on how much of a scam this place is. Go in there and you wont see any Koreans, I guarantee it(which is a tell tale sign that a place isnt a good Korean place btw).

Located in a non-descript strip mall in Marina Del Rey. Surprising good food. My family had the Korean BBQ which they devoured. I tried the Meiji Soon Tofu Chigae soup, made from fresh organic tofu. It was excellent, probably one of the best tofu soups I have had. The service was quite good considering that when we walked in, the restaurant was empty but filled up in about 5 minutes. Everybody came in at the same time.The decor was basic but easy on the eyes. The ventilation system is excellent for a Korean BBQ. It was the first Korean BBQ where we left without smelling like the food.

Surprisingly a decent Korean BBQ place. Stumbled upon this during my travels.Pros:- Waiters are very proactive and do whatever you say (best waiters Ive experienced at a KBBQ)- Meat is relatively good - the Bulgogi is mediocre, Kalbi is good, and Samyupsal is decent- Generous portions of the panchan - quick to refill alsoCons:- Grill is horrible, food sticks to it very strongly, which breaks the meat apart- Loud people yelling racist comments at the restaurant and no waiters told them to stop (they kept screaming Hai! to simulate karate sounds)Overall, it was a great restaurant and Id return here. Dont sit near the door as the draft is horrible.

I try as many BBQ places in LA, U.S., Korean styles etc. let me also say that Wharo is a cut above. They have been voted as best KBBQ in Southern California.This isnt an ALL YOU CAN EAT smorgasbord type of restaurant. Their meat is very high quality kobe beef. Their side dishes are extremely flavorful and their kimchee cannot be beat. Their ingredients are extremely fresh. I also am a huge fan of the bibimmyeon and pajeon (Korean pancakes).Their staff are very friendly, especially the owner.These are the types of reasons why Wharo surpasses all other KBBQ establishments that I have visited and also, its KBBQ on the westside so win win.Great food, wish it was free but well worth the price you pay for the quality you get.
